Showing off their beach bodies, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were spotted swimming in Miami, Florida yesterday (July 3).
The ?Mad Money? mommy looked fabulous in a skimpy black two-piece bikini as she waded into the water with her shirtless ?Mission: Impossible? hubby as they celebrated Tom?s 49th birthday.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Katie treated Tom to quite the birthday bash, organizing a fabulous fete at the SoHo Beach House Miami Hotel.
Cruise?s three children Suri, Isabella, and Connor were all in attendance, as were 40 other guests who were all served a gourmet Italian meal with chocolate cake.

Treating her man to a surprise celebration in his honor, Katie Holmes organized a 49th birthday bash for Tom Cruise in Miami, FL on Sunday (July 4).
The "Mad Money" actress threw the fete at the Soho Beach House Miami Hotel, with his three children, Suri, Isabelle and Connor all in attendance.
With a total of 40 loved ones on the exclusive guest list, partygoers were treated to a delectable Italian meal with chocolate cake served as dessert.
Clearly in a jovial mood, Katie is said to have been dancing to a little Caribbean music when she arrived while Tom sat at a table as he watched daughter Suri play with a beach ball with her face covered in decorative paint.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the power couple and their kiddies just flew into the sunshine state the previous day from Los Angeles - where Katie premiered her new movie "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark".

Spending the Fourth of July weekend in the Sunshine State, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted arriving back to the Soho Beach House Hotel in Miami, FL on Saturday (July 2).
Joined by their daughter Suri and son Connor (who covered up a tattoo on his arm), the happy family emerged from their ride after jetting back to Florida following a brief trip to Los Angeles so that Katie could premiere her movie "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark".
As for their time in Miami, Tom has been placed in the locale while filming his role as rocker Stacee Jaxx for the new movie "Rock of Ages".
Talking about her hubby's long-haired and tattooed look, Katie recently told Access Hollywood, ?He looks great! I think it?s terrific." She added, ?It?s very rock star, he?s a rock star."

Here are some new photos of last night?s LA Film Festival premiere of Don?t Be Afraid of the Dark, which stars Katie Holmes. I remember when Katie filmed this movie in Australia, back in 2009. I thought the premise of the film - spooky horror, with kids - was interesting, and I?ve been wondering what has been taking so long for this film to be released. And now the film got its premiere? on a Sunday, in the middle of the summer. This does not bode well. Katie was there, of course, but her husband was not! Weird? Tom Cruise came to the premiere of Super 8 to support his friends Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams. Why not come to support his wife? Hm?
Anyway, the Kate-bot wore this Contrarian dress - which I don?t like. From the waist up, it?s interesting, and it might even be flattering on Katie if she straightened her back, threw back her shoulders and really worked it. But with the poofy skirt, it just looks like a sad, girlish, dated party dress that Katie cut up herself. Meh. I?m not liking her hair, either. Katie has been doing good hair lately, it?s had a lot of body, and she?s been wearing it all fluffed up, which is a really great style for her. This flat-ironed look, with the part down the middle and her hair just lankly laying by her zombie-face? it?s not a good look.
Also: the little girl in the photo is Katie?s costar, not Suri. I was all ?Damn, SURI!? But it?s not.

Closing out the annual west coast cinema showcase, Katie Holmes was front and center at the Los Angeles Film Festival on Sunday night (June 26).
Joined by co-star Bailee Madison, the 32-year-old actress was in-hand at the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live venue for a screening of her new movie "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark".
Directed by Troy Nixey, the horror/thriller tells the tale of "a young girl who is sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend, only to discover creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own."
Also starring Guy Pearce, Alan Dale and Nicholas Bell, "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" is set for U.S. release on August 26, 2011.

Katie Holmes spent Father’s Day weekend in a red bikini top and bright Pink shorts in Miami with Suri Cruise. She also showed off what Suri Cruise did to her stomach while she was gestating in there. Instead of being all smooth and sexy like it was in The Gift, her stomach looks like when someone throws a pebble into a lake.
For her crimes, Suri Cruise should have her eyelids taped open and be forced to watch every episode of Dawson’s Creek.

Making the most of some much-needed time off, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were seen strolling around Miami Beach, Florida yesterday (June 19).
Joined by their daughter Suri, the ?Minority Report? hunk and his ?The Gift? gal took full advantage of the beautiful Father?s Day weather.
Prior to the outing, Katie hit up a South Beach Starbucks coffeeshop thanks to the help of a burley bodyguard.
On Saturday night (June 18), Katie and Tom attended a cast party for ?Rock of Ages,? Cruise?s new gig in which he plays Stacee Jaxx.

As Bedhead discussed yesterday, Katie Holmes was due to receive the ?Face of the Future? Award at last night?s Women In Film Lucy + Crystal Awards. Katie was the headliner of the event, surprisingly, and I won?t even get into how big of a joke it was to honor the Kate-bot. I?ve been trying to find out who designed this, and all I?ve got is Max Mara, and that?s a guess. The even was sponsored by Max Mara, so it would make sense for Katie to wear a dress by the sponsor. As for how she looks in this black-and-white ensemble? pretty, I think. It?s nothing groundbreaking, but she looks very healthy and pretty and ?together?. For a second I even thought her boobs were bigger, but it?s just an optical illusion with the bustier thing.
Here?s little Elle Fanning in a really pretty Marc Jacobs. Marc probably meant this for an adult woman, but I think it?s absolutely perfect for a 13-year-old girl. It looks like an old-school ?party dress? that young women would wear to formal dances. She?s such a pretty little thing too.
And here?s Annette Bening, who brought her husband as her date. They look happy and tight - good for them!
And lastly, we have Rose McGowan?s jacked face. This face caused some consternation between CB and I this morning. At some point, we can no longer blame Rose?s car accident on what we see before of. At some point, we just have to say ?This is how she WANTS to look.? Yikes.

Lately, Katie Holmes has been doing a lot of what she does best; that is, she’s been shopping, walking around in workout gear (look at those lifts!), and carrying around chocolate-laden coffee drinks. She has a few movies coming out soon (which are described below), including a decent-looking horror flick that will probably survive regardless of her horrific performance. Oddly enough, one of Katie’s bragging points is that Al Pacino appears in two of her upcoming films, which is rather hilarious at best. I mean, I love Pacino to death, but none of his movies from the past decade have gone anywhere. So why do the B- and C-list actors continue to use his name as a justification for appearing in bad films? It’s a question for the ages.
At any rate, the Women In Film association shall hold a fund-raising gala tonight to honor this year’s “highly accomplished” honorees, which includes “Face of the Future” Katie Holmes, who has been described in very press-friendly language as a “powerhouse” alongside the likes of fellow honoree Annette Bening. No kidding.
In preparation for the ceremony, Katie’s been interviewed by Variety alongside the other women who will be honored tonight. All of them (besides Katie) are indeed accomplished actresses, directors, or cinematographers, and they’ve all be asked to express their dreams for the future. When the time arrived, the zombified one staggered forth and recited some vapid yet well-rehearsed remarks:
The wish to play a femme fatale from the 1940s or 1950s is surprising for Max Mara’s Face of the Future honoree Holmes. The star of the recent miniseries “The Kennedys” longs to do another period piece for either television or film and play “someone glamorous, a combination of Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe.”
“They’re very different but bring together in one character that ladylike feeling and that pain and also the strength. It’s something I’m interested in exploring,” she says.
Her dream director is one that got away, the legendary Billy Wilder.
“Some Like It Hot and The Apartment are brilliant,” the actress enthuses. “I would have loved to have worked with Wilder.”
This year, Holmes co-stars in three pics: the thriller Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, with Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison; the comedy Jack and Jill, with Adam Sandler and Al Pacino (”It can’t be anything but wet-your-pants funny”); and action drama The Son of No One, with Channing Tatum and Pacino.
Despite all the film activity, Holmes still aspires to return to the boards.
“Broadway wasn’t a one-time thing for me,” says the star of the 2008 revival of All My Sons. “I am constantly reading plays, and I want to go back if they’ll have me.”

Face of the Future. Okay, so Katie technically started acting when she was 19-years-old in 1997’s The Ice Storm, and then she did five years of “Dawson’s Creek,” but shortly afterwards began to slide into obscurity until the Unhinged, Lift-Wearing Midget rescued her. Or imprisoned her. Whatever.
My point is, Katie’s been more or less “in the business” for fourteen years (well past the stage of potential “ingenue”), and she’s enjoyed a pretty disastrous run to boot. For certain, Hollywood has given Katie plenty of chances to prove her mettle, but she has always reverted back to the same habit of talking out of her mouth for every character that she plays. To be perfectly blunt, her acting career has absolutely no potential for growth. Have you ever heard anyone exclaim, “I really want to see that new Katie Holmes movie this weekend!”? That’s never been the case.
So why, at this stage of the game, has Katie Holmes been honored as the “Face of the Future” by the Women In Film association?
