My GOD Katie Holmes is horrible model. I have just gone through Marie Claire?s October pictorial, starring their cover girl Katie Holmes, and this might be one of the worst ever. It?s not really Marie Claire?s fault. It?s Katie?s. She doesn?t know how to carry herself, she doesn?t know how to pose, and she looks old and exhausted and slumpy and like a f-cking zombie in nearly every photo. And you know Marie Claire probably used the best shots too - that?s how bad it is. Can you imagine the shots that were rejected? Go here for the full slideshow, but the best (worst?) shots are the bottom of this post.
Anyway, Katie was also interviewed for Marie Claire! Xenu lets her speak for herself and everything. It?s predictably kiss-ass (?Katie Holmes doesn’t really walk; she glides?. I find myself getting distracted by her cheekbones and her soft but determined voice.?) but there are a few (butt?) nuggets of interest. The full online excerpt is here, and here are the highlights:
Producer Jennifer Todd, on Katie Holmes as producer/actress on The Romantics: “She really was a producer. It wasn’t just a credit given to her. She’s been relentless in trying to help get this film out. She has a real love of cinema and a real passion for seeing a project through from start to finish.”
On The Romantics: “I just look for characters I can relate to. I loved this role because it felt like these are things that people go through,” Holmes tells me. “It has friendship, it has heartbreak, it has the past coming back into your life. I also liked the friendship between Lila and Laura because it’s tricky between women ? you are either a friend to women or you are not.” Holmes continues, “That stuff for me is very real. I have three sisters, I went to an all-girls academy. I feel like I know girls and know how we fight, and [author] Galt really nailed it. I just thought the movie felt very true.”
Doing the film festival rounds: “The enthusiasm that existed around this project was just awesome,” she says. “We all get together now and do dinners. We really did become great friends, and that’s rare ? to continue those friendships.”
What?s it like being (the third) Mrs. Tom Cruise? “It’s really exciting. Tom’s as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He’s so passionate about everything, whatever he’s doing. When he’s being a dad, he’s right there; he’s giving it his all. It’s inspiring and it’s fun. It’s an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are.”
On their date-nights: They visit each other on set when they can ? Holmes is currently working in Toronto ? and they do manage to have date nights, usually screening a current movie in their Beverly Hills home, followed by “probably a two-hour discussion about what we thought.” They also play a lot of Scrabble. Holmes, always the straight-A student, is a formidable opponent. “But Tom’s really good at it,” she admits. “It’s all strategy. I think when I’m back in Toronto, I’m going to bring my dictionary and study.”
On being apart: Despite their hectic schedules, they’ve never spent more than a week-and-a-half without seeing each other.
More kids? “Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I’m really there for Suri. I’m the youngest in my family ? my closest sister is five years older than me, and the next one is nine years ahead of me, so I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom’s attention, and sometimes I think I still do.”
On Suri, who Katie says is being home-schooled (by Xenu?): “We travel a lot, and so for me, it’s keeping a daily schedule for Suri that never changes,” Holmes tells me. “We wake up, and we do the same thing. She does her chores. I think it’s very important. If she doesn’t get her chores done, I notice she’s not really herself. She has to make her bed, she has to take her dishes to the sink, she has to put her clothes in the laundry ? you know, that basic stuff. I try to do what my mom did for me … just spending time with her, making doll clothes and planting in the garden … When Suri comes to the set, we have art projects, and I just try to keep her busy and inspired.”

If her life is really this good - and honestly, she does make it sound very nice and low-key - then why has she aged so drastically, and why does she wander around like a drugged zombie so much of the time? I just think? damn, even with all of her money (Tom?s money), I still wouldn?t want her life.

She?s always up to something and yesterday (September 7) Katie Holmes was spotted paying a visit to ?The Late Show with David Letterman.?
The ?Mad Money? babe looked to be enjoying her time with the late night host and even shared a funny story from her time on Broadway when she starred in Arthur Miller?s ?All My Sons.?
Holmes started in, ?There was one week when I developed a really bad cough, and I thought, ?Oh, I?ll put some Vicks Vapo-Rub on my chest so I?ll be able to breathe and nobody will know that I?m sick.??
She continued, ?So then I go down, and it?s my turn, and I go onstage and [costar] John Lithgow looks at me like, ?Whoah!? And I realized that I had a little halter dress, so I had rubbed so much [Vapo-Rub] that it looked like I was trying to oil up.?

Capping off quite the long day of promotions, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise turned up at The Cinema Society screening of "The Romantics" alongside husband Tom Cruise in New York City on Tuesday evening (September 7).
The Hollywood power couple posed for pictures outside the AMC Loews 19th Street East 6 theater venue before strolling through the arrivals carpet en route to the night's special preview of Katie's new flick.
Earlier in the day Miss Holmes made stops to "Live with Regis and Kelly" and the "Late Show with David Letterman" while also partaking in a press conference.
Talking about how romantic and supportive her "Top Gun" hubby happens to be, Katie dished, "My husband has red roses for me everywhere I go and whenever we travel."
As for "The Romantics", the Galt Niederhoffer directed film co-stars Josh Duhamel and Anna Paquin, with a release date set for this Friday, September 10th.

This is totally a non-story, but Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise stepped out with Suri, Connor and Isabella today in New York City. We haven?t had new photos of Katie and Tom together in a little while, so it?s good to see them. Little Suri is hiding her face in these pics, unfortunately, and she?s still being carried everywhere. I love these photos because Katie is wearing heels for the outing, and I think Tom isn?t. I?ve been studying the photos where I can see his feet, and those sneakers don?t look like his special lift sneakers. Hey, the girl gets tired of always wearing heels, you know? He looked at Katie and was like, ?Don?t be a bitch and wear heels today, okay? My lifts are killing my back.? And Katie was like, ?I don?t really give a sh-t, Xenu.?
I?d just like to have a word on Tom?s height - I wish that it didn?t bother him so much, you know? He?s an attractive man, and the bane of his existence is falling in love (chuckle) with tall women, so why not just live with it? Why the lifts and ?Xenu commands Mrs. Cruise to wear flats?? Maybe it?s just because I just re-watched Julie & Julia, but I love it when a short guy is with a tall(er) woman (Julia Child was big!). It?s kind of sexy. But Tom?s insistence on looking tall makes me think that he?s really neurotic about it, and that?s not sexy. Eh.

Gearing up for the day ahead, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted leaving their New York City apartment this morning (September 7).
Joined by their kids Suri, Connor, and Isabella, the ?Top Gun? stud and his ?Mad Money? wife hurried past the paparazzi on their way out of their downtown Manhattan pad en rout to "Live with Regis & Kelly".
Last night, Tom, Katie, & Co. arrived on a flight from Toronto, Canada and enjoyed some family time while dining out in the Big Apple.
This time around, they opted for a personal favorite of Katie?s, Serendipity 3, for some yummy eats and their famous frozen hot chocolate.

Fresh off of a flight from Toronto, Katie Holmes was spotted out with husband Tom Cruise and the kids in New York City on Monday night (September 6).
The "Dawson's Creek" darling and her "Top Gun" hubby took Suri, Isabella and Connor out to eat at Serendipity 3 before trekking back to their Big Apple abode.
Prior to the family outing, Katie, Suri and Bella were spotted leaving Toronto via a private jet following work efforts on the new miniseries "The Kennedys".
As for the trip back to the States, Miss Holmes is gearing up to promote her new movie "The Romantics" - which hits theaters this Friday (September 10).
Also starring Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Adam Brody and Elijah Wood, the Galt Niederhoffer directed film sees "seven close friends reunite for the wedding of two of their friends. Problems arise because the bride and the maid of honor have had a long rivalry over the groom."

Up and ready for a day full of work, Katie Holmes was spotted back on the set of ?The Kennedys? on Monday (August 23).
After stopping in the hair and makeup trailer, the ?Mad Money? actress emerged with a long purple trench coat and black flats en route to where the day?s scenes were taking place.

Tending to her all-important motherly duties, Katie Holmes enjoyed a rainy day in Toronto, Canada with Suri and Isabella Cruise on Sunday afternoon (August 22).
Not letting the dreary weather damper their day, the trio first went to Starbucks before hitting up Gap Kids and Anthropologie.
Finishing thing off with a take-out order at a local eatery, the day was as peaceful as can be aside from a little temper tantrum from Suri.
Currently up north filming "The Kennedy's", Katie joined co-star Greg Kinnear and family in taking the girls to Toronto Island and Centreville Amusement Park the previous day.

Partaking in a little mother/daughter bonding up north of the border, Katie Holmes stepped out with Suri and Isabella Cruise over the weekend in Toronto, Canada.
The former "Dawson's Creek" darling and her adorable tots were joined by Katie's "The Kennedy's" co-stars Greg Kinnear (with wife Helen and daughters Lily and Audrey) and Barry Pepper (with wife Cindy and daughter Annaliese).
The group loaded up on a ferry ride as they visited the Toronto Island and Centreville Amusement Park for a fun-filled Saturday outing.
Aside from her "The Kennedy's" filming duties, Katie is gearing up to promote her new film "The Romantics" - which hits theaters on September 10th.

Still plugging away at her current gig, Katie Holmes was spotted shooting scenes for ?The Kennedys? in Toronto, Canada earlier today (August 20).
The ?Mad Money? mommy was the spitting image of Jackie Kennedy as she worked alongside Greg Kinnear (playing John F. Kennedy), filming a sequence where they arrived at the DFW Airport.
And when it comes to fall fashions, look no further than Ms. Holmes- she and her ?Romantics? co-stars are taking over the new J. Crew catalog.
In some of the shots it even seems that Holmes is channeling the spirit of her ?Dawson?s Creek? character Joey Potter. Cue the Paula Cole theme music!
