A few weeks ago, Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet at the LA premiere of Disney?s Dumbo. She brought her four youngest kids too. Jolie doesn?t have a role in Dumbo, but she?d worked with some of the special effects team before, and as I pointed out at the time, Angelina is a Disney Lady now. In addition to Maleficent and the sequel (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil!!), she?s working for/with Disney on several other projects too. I also said in that Dumbo post: ?I expected her to end up in a Star Wars movie and/or a Marvel movie.? Well, guess what? Chica got a Marvel movie.
Angelina Jolie is getting ready to make her first foray into the world of superhero movies. The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to star in Marvel Studios The Eternals, a superhero team adventure feature being directed by Chloe Zhao.
Jolie has chosen the Marvel project based on the Jack Kirby-created title about superpowered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals and a more monstrous offshoot known as the Deviants that were created by the cosmic beings called Celestials.
While details about the movie are being kept under wraps, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that one aspect to the story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans. It is unclear who Jolie will play. Marvel had no comment.
While this will be Jolie?s first superhero movie, it is not her first comic book movie? she starred in the 2007 adaptation of Mark Millar?s Wanted.

La Jolie + Marvel = something I can get behind. Sorry, Avengers. Of course, I don?t know anything about The Eternals and whether this is actually a good property, but if it?s being produced by Marvel and they?re throwing their money behind it, that means it will make a billion dollars and Angelina will be the first lady of Disney/Marvel. Yay.

Kate Beckinsale sat down for an interview with the LA Times, which was published this week. At first I only saw a few quotes, all referencing her romance with Pete Davidson (insert barf emoji) and I thought ?wow that?s weird that she would do an interview with the LA Times and talk about Pete the entire time.? But she doesn?t. In context, the questions about Pete came at the end of the interview and she doesn?t even say Pete?s name (which is hilarious to me for some reason, like he doesn?t even have a name or maybe she doesn?t remember it). The point of the piece is that she promoting her Amazon show, The Widow. Which is probably the point of her thing with Pete too a little promotion, a way to get her name in the gossip mags. Some highlights from the LAT:
She loves Marmite: ?We have this substance in England called Marmite. It?s a yeast-based vegetable spread that you really, really like or you really, really don?t?. I?m OK with being Marmite. The people who like me really, really like me and would jump in front of trains for me. But if you don?t like me, I don?t care. It really doesn?t affect me.?
On Instagram (where she recently wiped all of her posts): ?I?ve always had that persona. The thing that?s been odd for me over the years is ? I think when you?re standing around in skintight rubber trousers, people automatically assume you don?t have much of a sense of humor. That?s always been an odd schism for me. I just always was me. I did the films I did and then a persona was constructed that didn?t feel at all accurate. I struggled with that for awhile and really didnt want to become involved in social media. First of all, I had a flip phone until embarrassingly recently. I also felt that if you want to complain about not having privacy, it seems the height of hypocrisy to say, ?Here?s the boiled egg I?m eating for breakfast,? or ?This is me in the bathroom.? I had no interest in it, so I never had Twitter; I still have don?t have Facebook.
Whether she?s surprised by the attention her love life is getting: ?I?m surprised by the interest. I?ve never been in this position before ? never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It?s all quite shocking, and something to get used to. I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it?s not.
Whether the attention has any impact: ?I?d rather not have people hiding outside my house. It?s a little old fashioned to have a woman?s personal life [looked at like that]. It?s a little bit tired.?

I found this interesting ?I?ve never been in this position before ? never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief.? It?s true she was with Michael Sheen before anyone knew him, and by the time he became a respected film, TV and stage actor, they had been over for many years. Then she was with Len Wiseman for years and years and she was obviously the more famous person in that couple. All of the men she?s dated post-Len have been less famous than her too. So Pete really is the first ?celebrity? she?s been with. Here?s my take: Kate finds that she loves the attention. Kate is enjoying herself and enjoying the fact that the gossip mags are talking about her and she?s getting lots of blog coverage and all that. That being said, she?s still going to tap out when sh-t gets too serious.

You?re on a quick commuter flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles when something goes wrong with the equipment, forcing an emergency landing in Bakersfield. Since Bakersfield is not a bustling hub of activity, there are few options to get home other than to hang out and wait for your plane to be fixed. While contemplating how many ceiling tiles you can count in the next three hours, a voice behind you says there?s a van waiting to whisk you to your final destination. You jump at the chance. And that?s when you see the offer?s been made by Keanu Reeves.
But because it was Keanu, it didn?t just stop with a free ride to LA. During the two-hour trip (seven hours in traffic), Keanu read facts about the areas they drove through and played samples of local music. Because he?s a goddamn unicorn and we don?t deserve him:

Jennifer Garner has a new interview With People magazine to promote her Neutrogena partnership. Its one of those standard beauty interviews, but she is so not into makeup and getting her hair done. She often goes out in her day-to-day life without makeup and with wet hair looking like shes busy and cant be bothered. Thats completely her prerogative and I get the impression that she would never wear makeup if she didnt have to do it for her job. In her People magazine she says that her kids must find it confusing to see her everyday without makeup and then to see her made up with her hair done. It sounds like she doesnt feel like herself when she wears makeup and has her hair hone.
?I think it?s probably extra complicated when you literally were nursed in the makeup chair as an infant, and have grown up sitting in your mom?s lap while she got her makeup done your whole life,? the actress and Neutrogena brand ambassador tells PEOPLE.
?My kids know two versions of me: They know the version that I see in the mirror right now that looks crazy, and it?s what they see 90 percent of the time,? Garner reveals of son Samuel Garner, 7, plus daughters Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, 10, and Violet Anne, 13.
?Other times, they see a version of me that I never saw with my mom or anything, where I?m done up, my hair?s done, my makeup is done, so I wonder what that puts in [Violet?s] mind,? she shares. ?Not to put words in her mouth, but I do wonder what it does to an adolescent brain.?
Garner hopes that her three children ?see that I?m the happiest and most comfortable when I just look like myself,?
?I think whatever version of growing up they need to do around that, if they can come back to this in the end, we?re good to go,? Garner explains of the example she strives to set.

However, ?She?s really smart about, ?Okay, now I?m leaving the house, now I need to check with my mom because chances are she?s gonna make me take this lip off,? ? says Garner. ?Which, I do.?
?That?s kind of where we are with it,? adds the Alias alum of her oldest child. ?It?s a process. Growing up is a process.?

Shes not telling anyone else that they shouldnt wear makeup or that theyre not themselves without makeup, but as a regular makeup-wearer this is foreign to me. I wear makeup every day and I love it. At first I thought she was saying that her kids can get confused to see her with makeup. I realized she means her daughter is at an age where shes being influenced by the media and that she doesnt want to set that example, that youre not enough without makeup. Again, as someone who likes to wear makeup you can teach your children that its a personal choice. Shes so vague about it that its hard to know what shes saying though. At least shes a spokesperson for Neutrogena and not Maybelline or Revlon. I have to get a little snarky for a minute. Kids notice Botox and fillers too.
