| Kristen Stewart in Chanel at the NY 'shopper' premiere: stunning or blah' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart leaving her hotel to attend the New York premiere/screening of Personal Shopper. Kristen is one of Karl Lagerfeld?s muses and one of the faces of Chanel, so obviously she wore a Chanel dress to the premiere. While I actually loved Kristen?s newly shaved blonde buzzcut a few days ago, I?m having some mixed feelings about this hair with such a pale dress. Yes, it?s very striking. And I don?t think my issue is with her hair, it?s with the dress. I think the turtleneck is my problem here? It would be a much better look overall with a high neck but lower than a t-neck. I also think the hip pockets are awkward.
As for her buzzcut, Kristen has been doing the media rounds in NYC and she explained how it?s for her next role where she plays a mechanic on a submarine. She wanted to look more badass and less frilly, basically. She also says that she?d always wanted to try a buzzcut or a shaved head. Seeing her in motion with this hair is? interesting. She really looks SO different. And honestly, she reminds me of vintage Angelina Jolie.

| Anne Hathaway: 'The mommy wars distract from the problem of parental leave' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Anne Hathaway spent International Women?s Day speaking to the United Nations, which is a pretty good way to honor IWD if you ask me. Anne became an UN Ambassador last June and her cause is paid parental leave, something she focused on after she had her son. Once she realized the conditions under which parents were forced back to work (i.e. unpaid leave, no paternity leave), Anne decided to fight for those who don’t have the means to take parental leave. Eliana Dockterman from Motto interviewed Anne about her new role for the UN as well as her feminism and the all-female cast of Ocean?s 8.
Hathaway on her experiences with resourcesavailableto moms in Hollywood:”I only have one experience so far, and it?s a movie that stars eight women, four of whom are mothers ? which is definitely not the norm. On Ocean?s Eight, kids were welcome on the set. [Before we started] I got an email from Sandra Bullock saying, ?Hey, listen, we?re going to make this a really welcoming place for kids. I know you?re a brand-new mom, so don?t be afraid to bring your son. We love kids here.? Change is going to come, but it?s going to take people like her with the power to make change to demand it.”
On how she became a UN ambassador:”The United Nations reached out to me, and I was very interested. But it took us a while to figure out what my issue was going to be. Then life provided the answer: I got pregnant. A week after I had my son ? I was still fired up on adrenaline ? I had an epiphany: the mommy wars are bullsh-t. They distract from the larger, institutional problem of parental leave. It was an issue that had always been abstract to me. Now it was real.?
On if Ocean?s 8 will become political or attractharassment:”In this movie there are eight women starring, so it may well attract that sort of attention. But good luck to any person who tries to take on Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett because you?re not going to win.?
[From Motto]
I am not an Anne apologist, I just plain like her. I don?t understand why ?mommy wars? exist in the first place so I am happy to give Anne a big ol? fist bump here. One of the things I really appreciate about Anne?s message, which you can read more of here, is that it?s inclusive. She wants proper parental leave for both sexes and points out all the ways that current US policy is unfair, such as families with two fathers who aren’t allowed maternity leave. And her first target is the UN itself who does not have equal leave for men and women.
As for Ocean?s 8, I guess I never realized that Hollywood sets were so unfriendly to kids. But reading Anne?s comments, it seems I don?t know very much about Hollywood sets. As to her point about O8 attracting political attention, the comparison made in the interview is the Ghostbusters remake. I understand Anne is trying to be supportive of Cate and Sandra?s directness but I hardly think any of those GB ladies are shrinking violets and they certainly came for them. In addition to answering the questions about attracting attention, Anne made a larger point to say that when she is number three on a call sheet after two men, her character is not political but, ?when I?m No. 1 on the call sheet, it suddenly becomes a ‘woman?s story’ and it?s a statement.? It?s not that I didn?t know this, but Anne explains better than I’ve heard.
Excited to be appointed Global Goodwill Ambassador of @UNWomen, the UN agency for gender equality and women?s empowerment. Honored to work with @UNWomen to ensure that all genders are able to fully and equally participate in the world economy. I think we can all agree it's long past the time for action. unwomen.org

| Emma Watson loves freckles, natural deodorant, baths & toenail polish | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

There?s basically a niche industry within celebrity journalism at this point. That niche? When celebrities describe every single part of their grooming and beauty habits. And honestly, I love this niche. Considering I?m not much of a makeup person, I could take or leave the makeup discussions, but I?m always interested in information about haircare, skincare, bathing, hair removal and more. Well, Emma Watson sat down with In the Gloss and this is like the motherlode of everything you ever wanted to know about Emma?s grooming. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
Her freckles: ?The object for me when applying makeup is you should be able to see as much skin as possible. As I?ve gotten older, I?ve embraced my freckles much more and I want to be able to see them. When we were filming Beauty and the Beast, I insisted on keeping my freckles as a part of the movie. There are so many young girls who are going through puberty who really hate having them, so I felt the need to say that I have them and that I think the look of natural skin is beautiful. I didn?t want to get blanked out!
She never forgets her evening skincare: ?No matter what, I always wash my face at night. I could get back from a shoot at 4 AM and still cleanse, tone, and moisturize before going to bed. People are amazed by this, but it?s just one of those self-care practices that I really enjoy. I think it?s because, when I was going through puberty?particularly around ages 14 and 15?I had really bad skin. So when you get in a good place with you skin, you really appreciate it and try to take care of it.?
She?s not into face masks: ?If my skin is feeling a bit sun-damaged or congested, I like their 9 Oil Cleansing Tonic, but I?ve never been big on masks! I guess I don?t totally buy into it? I do exfoliate with the volu Resurfacing Grains once a week because I think exfoliating is important. But masks? Meh. Maybe I?ll do one when I?m getting ready for an event or something like that, but only because it feels like it?s something special and luxurious as opposed to because it actually does something.
She loves baths: ?I have a bath every single day of my life. And if I can have two or three?amazing. Nothing terrible is going to happen in the bath, so I always find time for that. I?ll take phone conversations in the bath, anything. Sometimes I?ll use Epsom salts and oils, but my favorite is the C.O Bigelow Apothecary Cold and Flu Soak. Oh my God, it?s amazing! It has like eucalyptus and peppermint and bark and Echinacea and ginger? If you?re sick, it?s the ultimate. It clears out my sinuses and makes me feel really clean. Another brand I use a lot of is called Lola?s Apothecary. They do this incredible milk bath with rose petals that?s inspired by Cleopatra. Amazing. Then there?s a brand called French Girl Organics that has this great Sea Polish which exfoliates and leaves you moisturized afterwards. I like that because it eliminates a step after the bath.
She uses natural deodorants: ?It took me a while, but I finally found some good natural deodorant. It?s not an easy search! The best one I?ve found is Agent Nateur?I use the No. 3. I also love the Weleda Sage Deodorant for the smell. Soapwalla?s Deodorant Cream works too, but you have to scoop it out with your hands, so I always end up getting it on my clothes. But that one really works. If you need a 100% natural deodorant that you can rely on, it really does the job. You might just get it all over yourself.
She bleaches her ?stache: ?It?s funny?I was just talking to my friend before this about how in the Instagram era it?s so easy to edit your life so that it looks perfect. But I bleach my top lip and tweeze my eyebrows and you?d never get to see that, even though it?s a part of my routine. There?s still so much shame around the things you do to get ready while you’ve got a towel wrapped around your head. It?s important to me not to edit that out. I?ve been bleaching my top lip since I was nine. I don?t do it very often, but I do it!
She loves a pedicure: ?Weirdly, I often don?t wear nail polish on my hands in my day-to-day life. It doesn?t seem like a useful way to spend my time when it will be destroyed within minutes. But I love, love, love having my toenails crazy colors. I use the brand Kure Bazaar, which is one of the first brands that excludes things like toluene, formaldehyde, synthetic camphor, but it does actually provide trend colors so it?s pretty cool. And I also use a brand called Floss Gloss. They have the prettiest blue color called El Capitan, which is probably my go-to shade.
[From Into the Gloss]
I?m like her on the nail thing. I keep my fingernails unpolished because – and this sounds like I?m bragging – with my skin color, I always look like I naturally have French tips. It?s the weirdest thing. I have crazy-strong nails and they naturally look like I spent a lot of money getting tips, but no. But I also like to paint my toenails and the brighter the color, the better. I heard someone say that?s a sign of someone who is privately vain, when you don?t put polish on your fingernails but you do it on your toenails.
What else? I love that she talks about bleaching her ?stache, but if she can go months without bleaching, then her ?stache probably isn?t that bad. Same with natural deodorants – if they work for you, God bless, but you probably don?t sweat that much or smell that bad in the first place. As for taking baths two or three times a day? how does she find the time?

| Eliza Dushku: 'I?m an alcoholic and I was a drug addict for a lot of years' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I only ever watched one episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and that was because I knew someone on it. I don?t know why because I fell in love with the series Angel. But I do know and like all the actors from Buffy and that includes Eliza Dushku who famously played Faith. It turns out, Eliza is just as tough as Faith in real life. Eliza battled a drug and alcohol addiction that started as early as 14. She has since gotten sober and has stayed sober for the last eight and a half years. She recently opened up about all of this for the first time at the New Hampshire Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness in Manchester. Apparently, Eliza, who is a proud native of Watertown, MA, recently befriended the event’s organizer and agreed to speak when she had heard so many people would be there. She chose to speak without any notes so that her words came straight from the heart.
Eliza Dushkuopened up about her secret battle with alcoholism and drug addiction while speaking at the New Hampshire Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, March 7.
“Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I’m an alcoholic and I was a drug addict for a lot of years,” theBuffy the Vampire Slayeralum, 36, told thousands of students during her speech. “I’m always going to be that, but the difference between me and an alcoholic or a drug addict that still drinks and does drugs is that I’m sober. I don’t drink and I don’t do drugs anymore.”
?I got sober for my family,? she said. ?But today, I?m sober for me, and I?m sober for you. Because drugs and alcohol are powerful, but we are more powerful.?
Dushku revealed that she’s been sober for eight-and-a-half years and that she first dabbled with marijuana at the age of 14. “I loved the first time I took a drug because I loved the way it made me feel. I loved the way it made menotfeel ? I didn’t have to feel,” she explained. “It was fun ? and I loved it ? until it wasn’t. Drugs didn’t love me. They didn’t love my family. They definitely didn’t love my friends that died.”
[From Us]
You can watch her speech here. As I said above, Eliza gave the speech off the cuff and she sounds slightly nervous at the beginning, almost like she doesn?t know if she is going to go though with telling the audience she?s an addict. But you can hear her confidence as she moves forward and the crowd gives her encouragement. She said that one of the reason she got sober was that her brother no longer trusted her around his daughter because when she drank, she didn?t make good decisions. Her quote, “Because drugs and alcohol are powerful, but we are more powerful,? stood out to me because when I quit smoking, I had one cigarette I kept and every morning I would pick it up and say, ?You are not more powerful than me.? I employ the same tactic for a lot of things now, whenever I feel something is beating me.
Elisa has worked fairly steadily since Buffy. She was in the revamp of The Dollhouse and I always thought that was a good fit for her. Even though her career has been steady, Eliza is fulfilling her dream of a college degree at Suffolk University in Boston. She is earning a BA in sociology. This is especially poignant given that she speaks to how hard Middle and High School were. If it wasn’t for college, I wouldn’t have any fond school memories so I’m really happy for her. Her speech was both emotional and effective and in conclusion, Eliza said, ?If you’re in trouble, all you have to do is say, ‘I need help,’ I’m a real badass and tough girl. It was the hardest thing in the world for me to ask for help and it was the most powerful thing I’ve ever done.” We’ve heard this before but it always bears repeating.
If I said 1 thing that may have helped 1 person today- I'm grateful. #addiction #recovery Thx @JWahlly & everyone who organized & attended ? https://t.co/jOt0YDUWsC
