Following Monday night?s wildly successful and emotional Sydney premiere of Unbroken, Angelina Jolie and her cast stepped out today for a photocall and press conference to support the film. Angelina?s look here is Versace. It was custom-made just for her, because let?s face it? Donatella Versace worships Angelina. And while there are a few notable exceptions, Angelina is one of the few women who can really work a Versace dress properly. Her shoes are Louboutins ? she?s been doing the nude shoes for a while now and I wish she would stop.
There was a lot of conversation on yesterday?s post about Angelina?s ?thinness.? It pisses me off. She?s a slender woman. She always has been. I remember in her early 20s when people talked about her super-thin arms. Again, she?s ALWAYS been this thin naturally and it?s a struggle for her to put on weight and keep it on. She lost weight ? and talked about it openly ? after her mom died in 2007, and then she put on weight (obviously) when through her pregnancy in 2008. And she went through a double mastectomy last year, plus major reconstructive surgery. I don?t know, you guys? Maybe lay off her weight? She looks the same to me? I would even argue that she looks better/healthier these days than she did last year. *polishes Brangeloonie Badge*
During today?s press conference, Angelina joked about the Australian crew and the Aussie accent ? go here to see. And here?s Angelina talking about how much she loves Brad Pitt. Aw.

Here are some photos from today?s world premiere of Unbroken, which was held in Sydney, Australia. It was a big event ? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt walked the red carpet, and most of Angelina?s actors came too. Jack O?Connell (the star) was there, as was Miyavi, the Japanese rock star-turned-actor. Some people think Miyavi is going to get an Oscar nomination for playing the sadistic Japanese POW-camp leader, The Bird. Garrett Hedlund didn?t come to the premiere though, and I don?t see any pics of Jai Courtney or Domhnall Gleeson, so I guess Jack and Miyavi were the only actors to come. Still, it was probably a really nice event for the mostly Australian crew, and Angelina made sure some Aussie WWII veterans were invited to the premiere as well.
For the premiere, Angeline wore this very fitted and sleek Gucci gown. You know lace isn?t my jam, but this is okay. It?s fine. I prefer it to her sack dresses. Angelina?s been doing more body-con looks lately, which is nice. Maybe the sack dresses were a phase and now that she?s post-surgery and her breast reconstruction has ?settled,? she feels more comfortable in tighter clothes.
On the red carpet, Angelina told The Mail that she and Brad feel different after the wedding: ?I think we just feel that much closer. It makes us happy to be married, if that makes any sense. I don?t think we needed it but it feels ? he?s my husband.?

I was wondering why Angelina Jolie would deign to appear at last night?s Hollywood Film Awards last night, considering Unbroken is still a month and a half away from being released, but I shouldn?t have worried. She only came out to honor her Unbroken lead actor, cutie Jack O?Connell. You?ll have to forgive me, because I?ve never seen Jack?s work before, so this red carpet and show was the first time I?d ever seen him in motion and heard his accent. This boy is ADORABLE. He?s got that naughty-boy/bad-boy thing going on, like a young Michael Fassbender. But Jack?s also going to play the game a little bit, mostly for ?Her Ladyship? Angelina. That?s what he called her!! Angelina presented Jack with the New Hollywood Award. Here?s the video.
Angelina is super-serious and it really felt like everybody shut up when she was speaking. I wonder how it feels as a young actor, barely known in Hollywood, to be plucked from relative obscurity to take the lead in a huge Hollywood WWII movie and then to have Angelina Jolie present you with an award? Well, Jack wore it well.
PS? Jack wore Gucci. Angelina?s black wool gown was custom-made Atelier Versace!

Here is Angelina Jolie gracing the December 2014 cover of Vanity Fair.
In the new issue, the actress admitted marriage ?feels nice? and ?different? with husband Brad Pitt. While the media initially condemned her wedding for not waiting until gay marriage legalization, as the two had publicly pledged, Vanity Fair celebrated Jolie?s ?positive? testament to marriage.

I can?t even tell you how much I hoped this would happen! Angelina Jolie covers the December issue of Vanity Fair. I was kind of hoping for a Vogue cover too ? Jolie is promoting Unbroken, which comes out on Christmas Day ? but maybe the other major mag covers will come for the January issues. This is Angelina?s first major magazine interview since marrying Brad Pitt in August. So? she has some stuff to say about her wedding, plus she talks about whether or not she would run for office (yay for this coming out on Election Day!). You can see VF?s exclusive here. Some highlights:
Her married life: ?It does feel different. It feels nice to be husband and wife.?
Directing her new husband: ?A few friends asked if we were crazy . . . [A film about] a married couple going through some difficulties . . . and I?m directing him.?
The vows the kids wrote for them: ?They did not expect us never to fight, but they made us promise to always say, ?Sorry,? if we do. So they said, ?Do you?,? and we said, ?We do!???
The cake: ?There was no cake, so Pax made a cake,? she said, referring to their second-oldest son. ?The kids made little pillows for the rings, and Knox practiced [being a ringbearer] with an acorn that kept falling off the pillow. Brad?s mom went and picked some flowers and tied them up.?
She might run for office: ?When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility.? Jolie then catches herself. ?But I honestly don?t know in what role I would be more useful?I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible.? In di Giovanni?s last meeting with Jolie, however, Jolie?s opinion seems to have shifted. When directly asked if she sees herself pursuing a life in politics, diplomacy, or public service, Jolie says, ?I am open.?
Showing the film to Louis Zamperini: Jolie was at Zamperini?s bedside for some of the last days of his life, and managed to show him an early cut of the film. ?It was an extremely moving experience,? she tells di Giovanni, in tears, ?to watch someone watching their own life . . . someone so physically strong . . . and they are at the stage where their body is giving up.? She continues, ?And yet we laughed together, and talked about his mom. And being a man of such faith, he talked about all the people he believed he would be seeing on the other side. And that it would bring him peace. After a life of fighting, he could rest.?
Zamperini?s last days: At one point, Jolie recalls, Zamperini seemed to be failing. Then, as if from some deep reservoir of resolve, he rebounded. ?[The doctors] said he was training to breathe on his own. And that?s what he always told me?you train, you fight harder than those other guys, and you win. You can take it. You make it.? At this point, Jolie grows more emotional, then collects herself. ?Poetically, he stayed 40 days and 40 nights.? And then he passed on.
[From Vanity Fair]
I have mixed feelings about the possibility that Angelina could run for political office, or that she would take on a more politicized role. At this point, 13 years into her work with the UNHCR, Angelina has done an admirable job of keeping her personal political views close to the vest in order to be a more effective advocate for refugees. I think she has a lot of dirt in her past which would be used against her in a campaign? but I also think Angelina is very bright and she would run a fascinating political campaign. All that being said, not every politician campaigns for office. It?s possible that Angelina would rather have some kind of appointment as an ambassador or maybe some bureaucratic position high in the UN.

Back in June of this year, Angelina Jolie hosted the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in London. It was a high-profile event which drew wide media attention and raised awareness to vital issues like war-time rape and sexual assault in conflict zones. In the middle of the summit, the announcement came: Queen Elizabeth was anointing Angelina with a ?Dame? title. To be more specific, Angelina became an honorary Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George for extraordinary service to U.K. foreign policy. The Queen gave Angelina the title on the recommendation of William Hague. At the time, Angelina met with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and I thought that was as good as it was going to get. BUT NO. Today, Angelina went to London to receive her honorary title from the Queen.
Angelina Jolie, the Oscar-winning actress, has been made an honorary dame by the Queen for her campaigning work fighting sexual violence and for services to UK foreign policy. The film star, best known for her role in Hollywood blockbuster Tomb Raider, was presented with the award during a private audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Jolie was recognised in the Diplomatic Service and Overseas Birthday 2014 Honours list and received the honorary damehood (DCMG) for services to UK foreign policy and the campaign to end war-zone sexual violence. During the audience, the Queen presented the actress with the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George. As a foreign citizen Jolie, the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative PVSI, cannot be addressed as Dame, but receives the award on an honorary basis.
The award was first announced in June during the week when Jolie was co-chairing the End Sexual Violence in Conflict (ESVC) global summit in London with then foreign secretary William Hague.
She said at the time: ?To receive an honour

| Angelina Jolie's advice to her younger self: 'Make bold choices & make mistakes' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We?re still more than two months away from the release of Angelina Jolie?s Unbroken, but that doesn?t mean that Angelina Jolie and her people are staying quiet. Jolie is already promoting the film in international interviews, and the cast of Unbroken have been talking too. Jai Courtney, a sexy Aussie actor cast as one of the Americans, told HuffPo that Angelina is a ?fantastic? director and he loved every part of making the film. Universal just announced that Angelina and Jack O?Connell will premiere Unbroken in Sydney, Australia in December as a ?thank you? for hosting the production. Angelina and Universal have gone out of their way to invite Australian heroes too!
Meanwhile, for People Magazine?s 40th anniversary issue (the one with Taylor Swift on the cover), they asked various stars ?What advice would you give to your younger self?? Angelina had some good advice:
People: What advice would you give to your younger self?
Jolie: ?Not to change anything. I would probably say enjoy the freedom as much as you can possibly can before it goes away. Enjoy the walks in the park and the backpacking and traveling and living. Which I did, but I would have liked to have done more before it became a little less easy to do so. You can never prepare for the future because it?s all those things that build up to who you are. You have to let your younger self be scared of things and attack things head on. Make bold choices and make mistakes, and it?s all those things that add up to the person you later become.?
[From People Magazine, print edition]
I like the way Angelina has always owned her past. She grew up as a young adult in the spotlight ? I mean, she?s been doing interviews and getting media attention since she was about 19/20. Angelina didn?t really start to become the woman she is today until her mid-20s. She made a lot of mistakes and dumb choices in her early adulthood, and those mistakes and choices were thrown in her face over and over again. There are still people today who criticize her for crap she did in 1999, for goodness sake. But Angelina doesn?t regret that stuff because it?s made her who she is today. Good for her.

| Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are doing Krav Maga to stay in shape in Malta | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
From what (little) I know of Angelina Jolie?s By the Sea script, it?s just a flat-out drama. Like, it?s dialogue heavy and it?s just some artsy, sexy stuff that can be filmed pretty quickly and with very little CGI. Still, the British gossips would have us believe that Angelina and Brad Pitt are ?in training? for the film. Is it FOR the film or are they merely doing a joint couple-activity for fun? I don?t know. But sources say they?re taking Krav Maga lessons.
They met on the set of high octane flick Mr & Mrs Smith, where they played married secret assassins. And the lives of newlywed couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are now imitating their art as they have taken up training in a form of military-style unarmed combat, together.
The couple – who married in France last month – have been practicing a form of Israeli self defence known as Krav Maga to help them prepare for their upcoming movie By The Sea. Brad, 50, has only recently adopted the discipline, which the couple now practise several days a week, while wife Angelina started learning self defence to train for her Tomb Raider role in 2001.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘Angelina previously learnt Krav Maga when she was doing Tomb Raider and loved it.’
The A-list acting couple, who have six children together, Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, nine-year-old Zahara, eight-year-old Shiloh and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne are impressed with the fitness properties of the combat classes, which are thought to burn hundreds of calories each time. Fight Club actor Brad is believed to have lost more than 10 pounds after participating in the intense military-style exercise classes for just three weeks and is even letting his kids join in the fun.
‘The whole family are learning the moves,’ the source continued. ‘Even the little ones are doing modified kids’ moves but Brad has been doing it for 45 minutes a day and has dramatically lost weight and beefed up his muscles for the film.’
[From The Daily Mail]
See, I think they?re just saying the Krav Maga lessons are for fun, or for a workout, not that Krav Maga will be used in the film. I used to be really interested in Krav Maga because it seemed like a smart, efficient self-defense system that borrowed some good ideas from other methods. But I?ve read some articles about how Krav Maga isn?t all that and all the cool kids do Muay Thai or Taekwondo because those are the better systems overall. I?ve also heard (but never verified) that Krav Maga shouldn?t be a ?fun class? for kids, that it?s too dangerous. But then every child in my town started taking Krav Maga classes, so I don?t know. But if the Jolie-Pitt children really are taking Krav Maga… watch out. Looks like there really IS a Jolie-Pitt Child Army.

Brangelina Wedding Coverage, Day 7. I?m not sure how I feel about all of the wedding info coming out in drips and drabs, but we finally got our hands on the print edition of People Magazine, so FINALLY I?m able to pass on all of the details about what really matters: the wedding food. YES. Here are my random thoughts as I?m going through People?s cover story:
*Shiloh wore a top hat, obviously. But did you know that Knox also wore a special hat? It looks like an old-school admiral?s hat. Like, Knox is working his very own nautical theme.
*Brad honestly didn?t see Angelina?s dress until she walked down the aisle.
*The kids wrote the vows that Brad and Angelina spoke to each other. ?They asked us to make promises to each other,? Angelina says.
*The cake that Pax made was ?adorably askew? and ?generously frosted.? There is a photo of the cake which looks like it?s about six cakes all stacked on top of each other. Pax looked very proud of it but I swear that Maddox is giving it the side-eye.
*Vivienne and Zahara tossed the rose petals but Z was in charge of holding the petal basket, only I swear that the ?basket? is just a ceramic souffl dish. The petals were hot pink.
*Not only did Brad have a stone engraved in the chapel in honor of Marcheline Bertrand, but both Angelina and James Haven wore special pieces of jewelry that once belonged to Marcheline. Angelina wore ?a little flower ring? on her index finger and James Haven wore an angel pin that he found in Marcheline?s jewelry box.
*Angelina designed Brad?s wedding band and he designed hers, all in association with Robert Procop. For the wedding, Angelina wore a pair of earrings that she already owned (I?m looking closely? they just look like simple pearls?).
*The wedding gown inspiration? Princess Fiona from Shrek. Hand to God!
*Versace tailor Luigi Massi has known Angelina for years and years and he ?knows and cares for the children,? as Angelina says. He was apparently fine with adding all of the kids? drawings on the gown and veil.
*WEDDING FOOD: ?kid friendly, BBQ-style fare, washed down with award-winning Miraval rose from the couple?s vineyards and Jolie?s beverage of choice, Bosnian rose petal juice ? a sweet drink made from brewed rose petals, strained and blended with simple syrup. Dessert included Pax?s cake along with several flavors of sorbet and chocolate and vanilla ice cream.?
*Brad?s parents posed for a really cute photo with Viv, Shiloh, Knox and Zahara. Both Jane and Bill wore all-black (I suppose in honor of Angelina!!).
[From People Magazine (premium)]
My new favorite detail is about the Bosnian rose petal juice. How fancy!
Last thing ? Us Weekly?s sources claim that months ago, Angelina was seen ?stocking up? on bridal magazines in Hollywood. Back in May, she stopped by the Daily Planet and bought up copies of Martha Stewart Weddings and other wedding/bridal mags. My theory: she just bought the magazines for Zahara and Z was the one who acted as wedding coordinator for the Jolie-Pitt children. I can picture Z with a highlighter and post-its to mark the magazine pages. Can?t you?
