Kate Hudson is wrapping up her book signing tour for Pretty Happy, Healthy Ways to Love Your Body. One of the reasons Kate says she wrote the book is because she is asked constantly about her fitness, health and beauty routine and she can never encapsulate her ideas into small sound bites. Everyone and their mother has a lifestyle book out today and although I assume this is a way to augment her income, I appreciate her logic. Kate is asked about her body constantly, which does go part and parcel with designing a fitness line, but Kate advocates working to make yourself happy when it comes to wellness. Kate also has some pretty positive things to say about the Sisterhood of Lifestyle Clique, which is nice to hear. In addition to the usual subjects, Kate is finding a lot of reasons to talk about her kids. In her her interview on JUST JENNY on SiriusXM Stars 109 she discussed a variety of topics, including the persistent rumors about her mom Goldie Hawn marrying longtime partner Kurt Russell and if she wants more children:
Jenny: So many rumors that your mom (Goldie Hawn) and Kurt (Russell) are going to get married, True or not true?
Kate: That?s like a thirty-two year old rumor, it always seems to creep back up again. I don?t know,
Look, I always say the same thing, it would be awesome, I think it would be hilarious at this point if they got married? They?re pretty great.
Jenny: You have two boys, Do you want more kids?
Kate: Yeah, I really want more kids.
Jenny: How many would you like?
Kate: Anywhere between four and six?.I just love them (kids). They?re a pain in my ass and they?re the best pain in my ass ever. I just love every bit of it. I love the insanity. I love the chaos. I love laughing with them?

Kate also talks about making an album (really?) and meeting Adele. So Kate loves the insanity and wants to double or triple it? My guess is that Kate has recently come to a place of peace about her relationship with her own erstwhile father, Bill Hudson. She told Inquisitr that not only does she credit her humor to him but also that his abandonment was a blessing given the bond it formed between Kate and her brother Oliver. I imagine if she found solace in her sibling, wanting an army of kids who look after each other would be attractive. Sweet mother of mercy I couldn?t imagine it though; we are 2 kids to 2 adults at the Temple of Hecate, which leaves the adults clearly outnumbered
We discussed Kate?s hair on the last post, today let?s discuss her outfits. Some of you mentioned Kate?s business suit last time looked like her East Coast Author outfit; she seems to be changing it up based on her locale. In Connecticut, she popped on her Junior League red turtleneck. In Miami, Kate wore a Thankoon leafy burnout crop top and fabulous print palazzos, which I guess goes easily from book signing to rave, a look everyone needs in their closets. For the Mall of America, she sported a girl-next-door crewneck and hastily slicked back hair. And for Naperville, Illinois, Kate opted for spunky overalls with a wide knit sweater over a dark bra and suede boots. Actress, sportswear designer and now lifestyle book author, Kate Hudson, has similar challenges to us as a mother; her kids can be little sh*ts. Kate has two sons: Ryder, her 12-year-old with ex-husband Chris Robinson and 4 and 1/2-year-old Bingham with her ex Matt Bellamy. Kate just finished promoting Kung Fu Panda 3 and is presently making the rounds promoting her book, Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body. She stopped by Late Night with Stephen Colbert and discussed what it?s like to have a pair of rambunctious boys in her life:
Kate Hudson sometimes feels a little outnumbered in her own home.
The mother of sons Ryder, 12, and Bingham, 4, spoke to Late Show host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday about the antics of her mischievous boys.
?Let?s start with the fact that I, literally five seconds ago, was on FaceTime with his teacher, going like, ?He did what? He did ? ?? ? Hudson, 36, said of her ?tween.?
?He?s a great kid, I love him so much,? she added. ?They?re your kids and you love them and then you can?t stand them sometimes ? it?s just the truth.?
The new author also talked about her sons? bedtime routine, describing how she has to raise her voice to get the ?rowdy? boys to stop jumping on the bed.
?Then it turns into kicking, and then they?re hitting each other, and I?m like, ?Guys, you gotta stop,? and then for some reason Ryder did something to Bing and, next thing you know, Bing started to cry,? she shared. ?Ryder?s like, ?He?s the one who?s crying, he?s the one who hit me,? and then next thing you know ? Bing is not sick, he?s not ill ? he just throws up.?
She continued: ?He threw up everywhere and he thought it was hilarious!?
So what did big brother Ryder do? ?He threw up because it was so gross!? Hudson said.
?These are the moments that test you as a parent. I was like, ?G-g-get out of my room,? ? she said in a shaky voice.

I am fairly indifferent to Kate Hudson. Like CB, I appreciate her work at it attitude to being fit. My male progeny has ADHD and meditation is one of the ways that we are working on his focus; it’s completely foreign to me but Kate?s integrate it as you need it philosophy seems approachable. I love her here, ?you love them and then you can?t stand them? ? Anyone with kids knows that the meter can swing from Love to Can?t Stand in a matter of moments. I’m thinking of when my kids get off the bus and before I get a ?hello,? one says, ?Okay, don?t start yelling until you hear the whole thing.? Christ, if they ever threw up in my bed and didn?t have Ebola, though, I?d find them new homes.
Let?s talk about her hair. After cutting a few inches off for the Golden Globes, Kate has gone even shorter ? I love it. It looks great both in a sleek bob and curly, it?s really fresh and fun. I am fortunate to have hair that grows quickly so I have been know to lob several inches off at whim. I just had 5 inches taken off but maybe another 3 for the summer? Because that will make me look exactly like Kate Hudson, right?

Kate Hudson covers the new issue of Self Magazine? to promote her athletic line, Fabletics, and her beauty/fitness book, Pretty Happy. It?s a lot like the situation with Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba ? the movie roles aren?t always there, so some actresses have branched out to side projects, and now those side projects get those actresses the magazine covers and publicity they crave (and despite their complaints, they do crave it). Kate?s recent publicity blitz reminds me a lot of Cameron Diaz?s blitz a few years ago when she promoted her beauty/fitness book. There?s a lot of ?lifestyle advice? and ?how to keep your life centered? sort of stuff. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
The perils of doling out advice: ?I?m finally at a place in my life where if someone wants to know what I do to stay healthy, why not tell them? Why not put it out there??
Always change: ?I change my routine. I change my look. I change my mind? [with fitness,] I really switch it up. I?ll do Tracy Anderson, I?ll do Body by Simone, I do everything. Nothing, literally nothing, makes me feel like I?m back to my body more than pilates. I?m one of those people who, it?ll be early in the morning and I?ll be in a robe getting my hair done, and I?ll use my Hot5 app?and do push-ups for five minutes!?
Her diet: She goes for five small meals a day, sticking to unprocessed and plant-based foods for the most part. ?I?ve pretty much cut meat out. I don?t remember the last time I ate a steak? The hardest thing for me is eating right when I get up, because I don?t like to. I?m not one of those people who wakes up hungry. I wake up and I want coffee and even a green juice, but everybody says you?ve got to eat something, even if it?s little. So that?s sort of the hardest, but I realize that when I do, I eat less during the day or late at night.?
Indulging: ?If I want to go out and eat at a restaurant with amazing food, I?ll do that, like, once a week where I?m not thinking about it. I want to indulge! I want to do things that are not necessarily healthy sometimes.?
Journaling: ?Journaling keeps me centered. When you jot things down, you can really see what?s going on. What are you eating? What are your food patterns? You can get clued in to the things that are going on with you. It?s proven that people who express gratitude, people who make that a practice in their life, are more joyful. Any sort of affirmation is a very simple way of reframing your thoughts, removing yourself from the negative.?
Societal pressures: ?Find the place where you feel really good in yourself. We?ve been programmed to feel like we?re under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way. And that?s not our fault. That?s what culture and society have gifted us as women. Thank you but no thank you.?

I feel like CB would probably enjoy Kate?s thoughts on fitness a lot more than I?m enjoying it. CB likes Zumba and spin and she likes to work out with other people, which Kate talks about a lot in this interview, that fitness is best enjoyed in a group, when everyone is dancing or sweating together. That, to me, sounds like hell. I hate working out in groups. I?ve taken one class in my whole adult life and I HATED it. What I do like about Kate is that her message is very positive ? she?s not saying there?s just one way to work out or be centered or diet. Her overwhelming message is: do what works for you, find what makes you centered, find what makes you happy. It?s very non-judgmental and I appreciate that.

The mother-of-two insists that despite her flawless figure, she really isn?t a stickler for only eating health food- "I like living my life?I'm not highly regimented?If I want to go out and eat at a restaurant with amazing food, I'll do that, like, once a week where I'm not thinking about it. I want to indulge! I want to do things that are not necessarily healthy sometimes."
Kate also advocates worrying more about the inner-being than the outer appearance- "Find the place where you feel really good in yourself?We've been programmed to feel like we're under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way. And that's not our fault. That's what culture and society have gifted us as women. Thank you but no thank you."

She always seems to look picture-perfect, regardless of context, and Kate Hudson says she owes it all to her alkaline diet.
In her recent interview with People magazine, the ?How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days? actress shared, "I live by a rule book of eating alkaline - no meat, no dairy, no gluten (and) I try to stay away from sugar - but I'll cheat when I want to, since I'm a bit of a foodie.?
Hudson also noted, ?I try not to make it not so much about dieting, but rather everything in moderation. While I try to keep my fitness regimen consistent, during awards season, I'm especially conscious of what I'll be wearing and plan my workouts accordingly. If I plan to wear a sleeveless dress, I concentrate more on my arms during my workout the day before. If my outfit includes a short dress, I incorporate more leg moves and squats. If I feel like I need a little color, I'll get a natural spray tan. Not only does this give me a little extra coverage, but it also allows me to achieve the bronzed look I want without the sun damage."

Back in September, we learned that Kate Hudson and Nick Jonas were casually hooking up. There?s a 13-year age difference between them (she?s 36, he?s 23), and their backgrounds are pretty different too ? she?s a hippie/earth mother type and permanent groupie with two children, and he?s a relatively sheltered, conservative ex-boy-bander. Still, I kind of liked them together, just as long as they didn?t pretend it was something serious. Just sex? Fine. Besides, I think Kate Hudson is all about casual hookups.
After several months of speculation (and sources claiming that Kate doesn?t even ?see? the age difference), there were reports that Nick and Kate split up in November. The cause for the split? She wanted to see other people. Like, she wants to date lots of guys and have fun and she doesn?t want a serious boyfriend. But then the holidays rolled around, and it looks like Kate and Nick couldn?t keep away from each other.
Nick Jonas and Kate Hudson have been heating up the slopes. The rumored pair were spotted on a getaway at California ski resort Mammoth Mountain on Monday, TMZ reports. Joined by friends, the stars took a break from the chill to grab beverages at Starbucks.
“She makes him laugh,” a source tells PEOPLE of the duo’s connection. “They have fun together.”
Prior to linking up with Jonas, Hudson spent Christmas with her family and friends in Aspen.

We learned in September that Kate Hudson, 36, was hooking up with Nick Jonas, 23. I thought it was fine, but some people disagreed and that?s fine too. My thought was that Kate knows what she?s doing, and she wasn?t going around trying to convince people that she and Nick were the real deal or anything. It was a fun hookup and they were basically friends with benefits more than they were ?dating? in any official way. Well, the rumored FWB situation lasted a few months and now it?s over. Kate dumped Nick, allegedly.
Kate Hudson has called off her romance with Nick Jonas. According to a Monday report from Life & Style Weekly, the 36-year-old actress didn’t like the idea of the 23-year-old singer going off on tour with Demi Lovato.
‘Kate felt Nick wouldn’t be able to maintain his commitment to her while he’s on the road,’ a source told the weekly. And she has no interest in keeping up the relationship, it was added.
‘She thought it was best to remain single.’
But not for long, The source also said the Bride Wars star wants to get into the dating scene again. And soon. ‘Kate wants to pursue multiple people,’ the friend said.

See, that?s why I?m sort of a Hudson Apologist. She?s fine. She?s dating. She?s dating multiple dudes and having fun and exploring her sexual agency. There?s nothing wrong with that! And I enjoy the fact that Kate isn?t trying to convince us otherwise. She?s not giving teary interviews about how difficult it is to find love or anything. Nope. She?s just out there, hitting it and quitting it with cute pop stars like Nick. She should bang Harry Styles next. They would be an exquisite mess.

Kate Hudson covers the new issue of Harper?s Bazaar, and I?m struggling to care. I?m saying that as someone who feels general warmth-to-ambivalence for Kate too ? like, most of the time I don?t really care about her, but when I do think about her, I mostly like her. I like that she?s not a whiner. I like that she just bangs guys and does whatever she wants without ?needing the ring.? But I also have to say, she needs to get her career in order. She?s needed better projects for years now, and in lieu of actually working as an actress, Hudson is just doing the ?celebrity for celebrity?s sake? thing. Showing up on magazine covers for no reason, going to the opening of an envelope, and promoting her sad line of workout gear, Fabletics.

She?s training for a triathlon. “Why not now? It’s about pushing yourself. Making a choice. It sort of becomes a metaphor for everything else.”
She?s single & enjoying it: “It’s nice to get acquainted with myself alone. You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It’s to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn’t work, you can’t force those things. It’s good to take a second to make my life about getting myself centered, clearing the energy, no overlapping. I’m at that age now. I really do feel very lucky. I’ve had my kids and my relationships. I’ve set my life down?I’m in my house, and I’m alone with my children?and I’m at peace, and that’s a really nice feeling. All I really want in my life is to maintain that.”
Letting go of old lovers: “It’s hard to let go of something even when you know that it’s not right. I’ve chosen something in my life that I’m very comfortable with that goes against a lot of people’s more traditional feelings. If something’s not right, I don’t believe in maintaining something for the sake of what’s considered a traditional family, because I believe that there are different ways to raise children. It’s far more effective to raise children in happy homes?I always laugh when people go, ‘Hollywood ? look at them.’ I’m like, ‘No, look at the world!’ Statistically it’s tough out there?relationships have a fifty-fifty chance. The odds aren’t great, you know?”
She loves Instagram: “I was looking at my Instagram and someone said to me, ‘Who manages your Instagram?’ I would never let anyone manage my Instagram! I enjoy it.”

She basically got the cover of the December/January issue to talk about how she?s single now. Seriously. Actually, though, Bazaar previewed Kate?s 2016 and it does sound like she has some legitimate work coming up. Her book (about health and fitness) will come out in February. She?s already wrapped on a film about the 2010 BP oil spill. She?s part of the ensemble for Garry Marshall?s Mother?s Day. And she?s about to play Richard Pryor?s wife Jennifer Lee in Lee Daniels? Pryor bio-pic. So? that?s good, I guess. At least she?s doing something other dressing up for random red carpets.
