Unlike many celebrities, Kate Hudson is honest about the work it takes to lose baby weight. She doesnt claim to effortlessly shed it or to eat whatever she wants, she admits to counting calories and she said that after her second pregnancy she worked out six hours a day to lose the weight. Kate welcomed her third child, daughter Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, almost two months ago. She also has sons Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7.
In a post to Instagram Kate announced that shes planning to lose 25 pounds by this spring to be fit for a film. She also promoted her lifestyle brand, named after her books, its called Pretty Happy. She wrote that shell post tips on that Instagram account. This is a clever cross promotion as she also has that (arguably sketchy) subscription clothing line, Fabletics, and can build another brand and associated products. Unlike other celebrities, I sort of buy what Kate is selling as long as I dont have to prepay for it. Heres what she posted with the photo above.
Sohere we go! The routine with our baby is getting more familiar and I?m ready to start taking a little time in the day focusing on myself. For me that means my health. Why? Because I wanna be around a long time for these three kiddos of mine. I know that some are curious about what that means and for all you moms (wether [sic] working or not working moms) it is the most challenging thing in the world to balance kids and personal time. Let?s be honest, kids take the number one position and it?s haaaaard to make the time for yourself. I?ve been doing a lot of research and I?ve spent my life time trying all kinds of new things that are focused on health and wellness. Because I am on a mission right now to get back to my fighting weight and my strong body/mind back I want to bring you in on some of this journey. If you want to follow a more in-depth of my to-dos, @prettyhappyofficial will be posting all kinds of fun tidbits from exercises we are loving to foods/recipes we ?? and meditation practices I just can?t live without ???? MY GOAL: I will be shooting a film in the spring and I?m looking to shed 25lbs. I?d like to try new workouts and eat as healthy as I can. I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work everyday, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane! ? I know that this sounds more like a new year resolution but after Thanksgiving and everyone thanking their health, I feel motivated to keep that up. Its perfectly reasonable to lose a couple pounds a week without being deprived. She could lose eight pounds a month and reach her goal in three to four months no problem. Kate knows the math and shes not promoting a crash diet or an expensive cleanse that no one needs. I like this, especially because shes being honest about it. (Although shes not working 9 to 5 or longer outside the home and is lucky that way.) The Pretty Happy Instagram account has recently become more active and they have this very brief video post encouraging quick five minute workouts.

It felt like Kate Hudson was pregnant for two solid years. We actually learned that Kate was expecting a child with her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa back in April, which doesn?t seem that long ago, except time has no meaning these days. Kate has two sons with two baby-daddies: 14-year-old Ryder Russell Robinson with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and 7-year-old Bingham Hawn Bellamy with ex-boyfriend Matt Bellamy. I think Kate just likes to have babies every seven years, and maybe she was trying for that much-sought-after daughter. And she got the girl!
Kate Hudson?s mini-me has arrived! The actress, 39, announced on Instagram Wednesday that she and her boyfriend of over a year, Danny Fujikawa, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
?We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor,? Hudson wrote in her announcement post, which was captioned simply, ?She?s here.?
She continued, ?Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.?

I would have half-way liked ?Rani? if it was pronounced Rainy or Rainey, but pronouncing it Ronnie? Eh. Just name your girl Ronnie! I get the decision to name her after her granddad, but just go all in and spell her name Ronnie. Anyway, congrats to Kate and Danny. I?m sure Kate is beyond thrilled to finally have a girl.

Kate Hudson has a fitness gear subscription service, Fabletics, which gets mixed customer reviews. She?s not selling wellness or health per se, she?s just asking people to pay money upfront to get activewear in the mail, sight unseen, or to trade it for credit for more activewear, with a lot of restrictions. It?s somewhat shady to me but it?s not Goop-level shady in that it may be bad for your health (or vag). I still side eye this post she made touting this insanely expensive cream. La Mer goes for around $95 a half ounce or you can ?save? a little money and buy the one ounce cream for $170. I?m sure it?s very good, but is it $170 an ounce good? That?s doubtful. Also doubtful are the claims on this sponsored Instagram post that putting it on crystals gives her ?extra energy.? (Note that she posted this a couple of weeks ago but it was recently featured on Hello! Magazine’s site, which is why I’m hearing about this now.)

I?m delighted to know I am not the only one who celebrates a ?first date-a-versary.? I?m also in what I consider good company. Kate Hudson, who regardless of what questionable career choices she makes, gets a lifetime pass because of Almost Famous and mama Goldie Hawn, shared a post to Instagram on Sunday, commemorating her first date with musician Danny Fujikawa.
The 38-year-old actress posted a photo kissing Danny on a scenic hike, accompanied by an adorable pooch. Along with the photo, Kate shared their story. They actually met over a decade ago, when Kate was ?enormously pregnant? with Ryder, her son with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. Kate was pals with Danny?s stepsisters, actresses Erin and Sara Foster (and their Dad is David Foster, currently canoodling with Katharine McPhee…small world, huh?) Here?s the story, in its entirety:

The first time I met Danny I was 23 and enormously pregnant with Ryder. His step sisters are my best friends @sarafoster @erinfoster and so it goes we have been in the same circle for over a decade! A year ago today Danny took me on a hike and what I thought was just a hike with a family friend turned very quickly into an unexpected first date. No moves were made on this first date. In fact, it took months for him to make a first move! And as a kiss on this bridge would have been nice, the kiss a year later was so much sweeter. So on our 15th year of knowing each other we were able to open our hearts to each other to feel so much pure love and it?s been truly incredible.! ??Happy first date anniversary baby. #LoveThisMan ? #WhatAYear

As a teen, I was a straight-shooter, National Honor Society member and nerd. I never had the ?my parents are out of town? party, but I?m sure that if I did, my mother wouldn?t have reacted like Kate Hudson?s mom, the eternally radiant Goldie Hawn, when she caught her kids having a teenage throw down in the family home.
The 38-year-old actress, making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to promote her upcoming second book, Pretty Fun: Creating and Celebrating a Lifetime of Tradition (hitting bookstores on October 31), recalled getting busted by Goldie when she and her brother Oliver (who will always be Jeff Fordham from Nashville to me…RIP) threw a little unsupervised shindig. She recalled, ?We thought our parents were out of town,? adding, ?And my parents like to party. They?re a very open door type of family. And that?s how we felt as teenagers.? The celebrity siblings invited a few friends to come over in their folks? absence and, as it usually does, things got slightly out of hand. Kate said, ?We thought it was going to be like twenty people, but fifty friends were at the house and we?re having a blast.?
Unfortunately for Kate, her folks were not out of town and mama Goldie made her presence known in a very Goldie way. Kate recounted that ?record scratch moment,? noting, ?All of a sudden the door flings open and it?s my mother and everything just stopped. And she was in anegligee, and she looked around as you think she would in one of her films and then she goes to the lights and she turns the lights way down and she goes, ?Kids, lighting is everything,? before exiting the room. Talk about a mic drop. Damn, I love Goldie. Kate?s friends did as well, telling her that her mom was cool, but Kate knew better, remembering, ?Ollie and I are were like, ?No, it?s going to be so bad in the morning.’?
As you can see in that clip, Kate?s still rocking the buzz cut she got for her upcoming movie Sister, directed by Sia. On a recent appearance on Ellen DeGeneres? show to promote her film Marshall, Kate lamented about the process of growing out her locks, admitting “I’m starting to handle the first awkward stage of the growing out,” adding “There are pieces sticking up and I have to put it down with product.” She later mused that she could possibly make a mullet work, noting it might help her social media posting, joking ?If I had a mullet, I?d be on my Snapchat game.?
I?m not nuts about the buzzcut myself, but Kate looked lovely at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at the Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades on Saturday. Kate joined celebrities including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jaime Foxx and Sophia Bush for an afternoon of ponies and popping champagne. Her short hair allowed her to show off some floral earrings, which complemented her striped cross top and palazzo pants combo by designer Johanna Ortiz. The outfit looks perfect for an afternoon of polo, not like I?d know or anything. #helpmeimpoor

This is just a reminder that Kate Hudson is still with the same musician she first stepped out with this spring, Danny Fujikawa. Kate tends to go for musicians in general. Ooh and Kate is still rocking that shaved head she did to work on Sia’s movie, Sisters, which isn’t listed on her imdb yet for some reason. These two first posed on a red carpet together in May, for her mom’s bomb of a movie with Amy Schumer, Snatched. (Goldie deserved so much better for her return to the big screen.) Fujikawa is a musician in a four person band called Chief out of LA, he plays guitar, and he also co-owns a record label called Lightwave.
Kate and Danny were headed to the red carpet for Marshall, a film about a case in the early career of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. Marshall, played by Chadwick Boseman, defends an African-American chauffeur (Sterling K Brown) against rape and murder charges brought against him by his rich employer (Kate Hudson). I watched the trailer (that’s below) and it gave me goosebumps and I almost started crying. Holy Oscar bait and I haven’t even heard about this film until now. (Kaiser has heard of it though, she catches everything.) Now I’m really looking forward to this film, which is out October 13. That ending line in the trailer “The only way to get through a bigot’s door is to break it down” is everything and unfortunately more relevant than ever.
As for Kate’s fashion, my level of caring has gone down since I watched the trailer for Marshall, but this isn’t bad for Stella McCartney. It’s like a predictable and perfectly acceptable mix of the slip dress and metallic trends which are big this season. (Or is the slip dress on the way out?) She looks awesome in it, except for the goofy playform heels, but maybe she was homaging the 90s. Also she is really rocking that hair. In some of the photos I saw she just looks like she has it pulled back. I imagine it will look awkward in the in-between stages, but knowing Kate she’ll find a way to work it or she’ll just throw up her hands and get extensions.
Marshall trailer. Take time to watch this if you haven’t already, you will not be disappointed.
Look at this outfit Kate wore out in NY on Friday. I love it so much. Her cutout jumpsuit is so mod and coupled with that sleeveless cape-like red jacket she looks like a 60s spy movie heroine.
And this is what she wore to the airport yesterday. Thirsty.
A lot of outlets are reporting that Kate didn’t wear underwear to the Marshall premiere. She has to have on something under there, right?

In a case of “hair today, gone tomorrow, back couple of days later,” actress Kate Hudson, who debuted a new buzz cut last week, was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a wig resembling her formerly long blonde locks.
The 38-year-old actress showed off her new ?do on Instagram last week. She shaved her head for her latest role in the film Sister, directed by singer Sia. Kate posted a shot from the set last Wednesday with the caption, ?Freedom? and called out Sia with the hashtag #OurBeautifulDirector. The “Chandelier” chanteuse-turned-filmmaker returned the love by posting the photo with the caption, “My girl @Katehudson, being a delight on set.” Not much is known about the film, which co-stars Sia?s video star Maddie Ziegler. The film?s screenplay is based on a short story the singer wrote eight years ago. I?m sure it will be ?artsy.?
On Sunday, Kate showed off her short cut in a photo posted to Instagram taken while she was out riding dirt bikes with her boyfriend, musician Danny Fujikawa, and her 13-year-old son Ryder.
