Ready to spend the holidays with her family, Kate Hudson was spotted bidding a friend adieu before boarding a private plane in Santa Monica on Monday (December 21).
Appearing to be in high spirits despite her recent break-up with Alex Rodriguez, the “Fool’s Gold” hottie happened to be making her way out to Aspen, Colorado to join parents Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn at the family’s property.
As for her split with A-Rod, a source recently told the NY Daily News, “Kate is better off without A-Rod. She had much better chemistry with Owen Wilson.”
The insider adds, “Alex is such a diva. When he came to the London premiere of ‘Nine,’ it was obvious he didn’t like standing in the background. He’’d show up late to every appearance.”

Here’s Kate Hudson gallivanting around with no pants. Yes, it’s been somewhere in the low 70’s here in Southern California, but to me, that isn’t exactly spaghetti-strap weather. Looking ever-so-lovely, Kate Hudson and her girlfriends enjoyed a Saturday morning (December 19) breakfast at “A Votre Sante” in the Brentwood Country Mart.
The actress, whose movie “Nine” debuts next week, showed off her stunning figure in a very short floral dress and EMU Ugg style boots.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Hudson spent the previous night hosting her annual Christmas party at her west coast abode.
Among the guests were Liv Tyler, Kate Beckinsale and Tobey Maguire, along with Hudson’s “Nine” co-star, Fergie, who came with husband Josh Duhamel.

Out for a bit of pampering, Kate Hudson was spotted after a mani/pedi appointment in Pacific Palisades, California on Friday afternoon (December 18).
Joined by gal pal and “90210” star, Sara Foster, the ladies looked to be having a wonderful time together as they giggled all the way to the car.
In other news, it sounds like Ms Hudson isn’t letting her recent split from Alex Rodriguez get in the way of her holiday spirit - as she hosted a Christmas party at her home last night (December 18).

A few days ago, the sketchy breaking news was that Alex Rodriguez had spent the weekend in Miami, hitting on every woman with a pulse. That begat reports that he and Kate Hudson were ?over?. This was confirmed a day later when Us Weekly ran a story about A-Rod feeling ?smothered? by Kate, and how Kate just wanted to get married or move in together, and that A-Rod did the dumping. Later reports were split on what exactly happened in the end, and who exactly ended it. People Magazine reported that both Kate and Alex ?wanted things to die down? and they decided to move on? and that they both are ?fine? after the split. People also notes that ?They may not be done working it out though.? Ever optimistic!
Meanwhile, Star Magazine seemed to get the bitchier sources, of course, and one person claims: ?They started having problems about a month ago and tried like crazy to work through their differences. Unfortunately, they kept realizing they were on different pages and it was never going to work out, especially on Alex’s end. Alex just wasn’t ready for the things Kate wants.” Star points to Kate?s insistence that they move in together, into a New York penthouse, and Alex decided at that point that he ?needed to cool things down and take a step back.”
I will say this: Kate really does seem to be doing well. She?s never been one to weep on cue for the press or throw herself a little pity party, and when she went to New York Nine premiere (with her mom), she looked great and happy. So that makes the two reports of Kate?s alleged sorrow seem like bullsh-t. But still, it?s good gossip. My favorite is this one, from Page Six - Madonna (also A-Rod?s ex) consoling Kate at the Nine premiere:
Kate Hudson, upset by her breakup with Alex Rodriguez, found a sympathetic ear at the local premiere of “Nine.”
At Tuesday’s after-party at M2 in Chelsea, Hudson was seen chatting quietly with Madonna, who dated the Yankee slugger last year. “When the cameras were on Kate she was all smiles. But privately you could tell she has had her heart broken,” a witness said.
Humiliated Hudson, who was reportedly dumped by A-Rod because he felt she was hogging the spotlight, also flew in her mom, Goldie Hawn, to support her. Mother and daughter drank dirty martinis at M2 “and hung out all night,” a spy told Page Six. “It was her big premiere, and she was upset Alex wasn’t there to support her.”
Hudson’s friends Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer tried to be supportive, but couldn’t make it through the aggressive crowd to congratulate her. The couple gave up and slipped out the back entrance into their waiting SUV.
While Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” became a Yankees anthem during the World Series victory, it was hardly music to Hudson’s ears. “When the song was played at the after-party, Kate looked at her mom and did a fake scream,” our source says.
Still, there’s hope for the relationship. A pal of Hudson told us they’re trying to make up.
The source said, “They had a huge fight in London at the premiere of ‘Nine,’ and Alex flew to Miami to hang out with his friends. But in the last few days he and Kate have started speaking again on the phone. She hopes they can work things out. But they are both very stubborn.”

Oh, give me a break. ?Humiliated Hudson?? Kate is a lot of things, but I seriously doubt she?s ?humiliated? by the split. If anything, she should be humiliated by the fact that she dated him. As for the Madonna stuff - well, Madge has gristly arm muscles bigger than Kate?s lithe frame, so I doubt Madge had much time for whatever Kate was saying or doing.
Page Six isn?t the only one playing the ?Humiliated Hudson? card. Life & Style reports that Kate was being consoled by her mom Goldie Hawn just a few days ago. An ?onlooker? to the conversation told L&S: ?Kate began talking about the Tiger Woods situation. She was saying that she knows what it feels like. It sounded like she was talking about how guys have such a sex drive, they just can’t help it. It was clear Kate and A-Rod were fighting or had broken up from the way she was speaking about him. At one point, Goldie told Kate, ‘Just take the high road. Lead your own way.’”
One of Kate?s friends confirmed, sort of, telling L&S: ?Kate has some trust issues with A-Rod. She doesn’t know for sure if there is another woman, but there’s a girl she thinks he has a crush on. She’s been worrying about other women for a while and is definitely the jealous type.” Yeah? I actually wouldn?t doubt that A-Rod was cheating. He seems like the type to have girls on the side. Didn?t he screw around on his wife with lots of women? Ugh? Tiger Woods Syndrome.

Stepping out to promote her new movie “Nine,” Kate Hudson was spotted making her way around Manhattan on Monday evening (December 14).
Making the press rounds ahead of her film’s December 25th Stateside release, the blonde beauty happened to be out for a visit to MTV Studios to interview with “It’s On with Alexa Chung”.
The sighting comes just as reports have hit the Internet claiming that Miss Hudson and Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez have mutually called it quits.
Having never really officially confirmed their coupledom, the twosome were together throughout the entire summer, with a friend telling of the news, “Wow, they were happy a week ago.”

Ruh-roh. Hollywood Life has a ?source? who claims that Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson are dunzo. Apparently, A-Rod might have been ?acting very single,? partying with some random ladies over the weekend in New York while Kate Hudson spent time with friends. Hmm? can a couple spend a weekend doing different things? Or is this The End!?! The source adds the final nail in the coffin: ?They are totally over.? Yikes.
It?s over for Hollywood hottie Kate Hudson and Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez, according to sources in Miami.
Insiders tell us that A-Rod partied in Miami solo all weekend (and with other women!), while Kate was in New York promoting her new movie, Nine.
A-Rod partied at Wall Lounge in the W Hotel Friday night, Dec. 10, ?with two women,? said our source. ?He was acting VERY single, and Kate Hudson was definitely not there.?
The source also said, ?Kate and A-Rod broke up.? Meanwhile, Kate was ?all smiles? while having dinner with friends at Prime Meats in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn, NY.
The following evening, Saturday, Dec. 11, A-Rod was at the Armani Exchange ?Cool Shades of Style? dinner at the Solarium above the Delano Hotel. And once again, no sign of Kate!
The two started dating in May, when they met in NYC, and she has supported his baseball career all through the season.
Reps for Kate and A-Rod haven?t gotten back to us, but our sources insist, ?They are totally over.?

This could be true, I suppose, but I have two big reasons for why I think this is just some random false report. First, the overwhelming majority of tabloid reports have Kate and A-Rod on the verge of engagement/marriage. True, that could just be the standard bullsh-t, but Kate looks very much in love, and we all know she?s a succubus who destroys men?s souls. My second reason - Kate supported Alex throughout the baseball season, and now it?s his turn to support her through the awards season. I don?t think A-Rod would dump the girl who would take him to the Oscars. It?s just not done!
Of course, I have one big reason for why this could be true - I doubt A-Rod is only dating Kate. I mean, I think he?s seeing other women, just on the side. So where I could see the report about A-Rod in a bar, partying with girls, and even hooking up with girls, I don?t think they are broken up. Just my take.
