Goldie Hawn went on Fox & Friends on Friday and I?ve been trying to find an embeddable video from the interview, but I cannot. If you want to see the interview, Fox News has it up here. The difficult thing is that Goldie was possibly trying to say that we should be very aware of children?s mental health during the pandemic, that the pandemic is scary and there?s so much misinformation and political wrangling around masks-in-schools, that kids feel helpless and scared. Another reading of what Goldie said is that we need to unmask children and that masks are the things which are destroying kids? mental health? It?s a mess. And the entire reason she was on Fox & Friends was to promote her own Mind Up charity which aims to prioritize teaching kids about mental health in schools.
Actress Goldie Hawn spoke out about how the COVID pandemic is affecting the mental health of children and what can be done to better manage the nationwide impact. Hawn, 76, noted that the pandemic was hurting the mental health of children who have no control over what is going on in the world. The Oscar-winning actresss statements come amid rising arguments over mask mandates for children as 15 states have still imposed it in US schools.
Were dealing right now with a mental illness pandemic, Hawn told Fox & Friends hosts Brian Kilmeade, Will Cain and Carley Shimkus on Friday. Mental illness is something that can actually lastits very, very dangerous. If we don?t look at it and know what and how to handle it, then we?re not going to win this battle with kids. We can start looking at how we are putting preventative social and emotional programs. We are dealing with a mental illness pandemic.
Hawn, who is neutral on the subject of mask mandates, said that even parents are having difficulty navigating the situation as well.
Whether its masks, whether its any of the various things that are going on today in the world, its very, very scary, Hawn also told the network. I think that what weve got to do is start focusing in on our next generation. We have to make our future and have to make our children strong and fit and be able to connect to each other.?

Watching the whole interview? yeah, she doesn?t push back on any of the Fox anti-mask narratives. She?s not actually arguing that kids are struggling right now because they?re living through a gdamn deadly pandemic and they likely know a family member or neighbor or friend who has died from Covid. She?s arguing that kids are struggling with their mental health because of the mask mandates and isolation of people trying to be responsible in a pandemic. The mask mandates are not why kids? mental health is declining. Kids are struggling because of everything around the pandemic, the death, the isolation, the political bullsh-t, the stress on their parents.
The fact that Goldie is now being embraced by conservative dumbfks and she hasn?t shut it down? well, that tells you a lot too.

Goldie Hawn features in the June issue of Porter magazine. You can see her editorial here. She looks beautiful, and I can’t believe she’s 69 years old! Goldie was 37 when she got together with Kurt Russell, and their relationship is 32 years long. So Goldie knows a thing or two about keeping things together. She could give relationship advice to nearly everyone in Hollywood. We usually don’t hear her humblebragging. Porter asked the question though, and Goldie was cool with supplying her knowledge. She also weighs in on Patricia Arquette’s Oscar speech and backstage comments for wage equality. Some excerpts:
On aging: “Getting older is a fact of life. By living mindfully you understand that there are many transitions in life. You just go through them. It’s wonderful to know you’re aging, because that means you’re still on the planet, right? It’s all about how you make it. It’s all in your mind.”
Keeping it together with Kurt: “A lasting relationship isn’t about marriage. It’s about compatibility and communication. And you both need to want it to work. If one person does not want it to work, it isn’t going to work. Intention is the key. It’s also about not losing yourself in each other. Being together, two pillars holding up the house and the roof, and being different, not having to agree on everything, learning how to deal with not agreeing.”
On gender equality: “We have made some strides, there’s no question. The relationship between men and women is definitely changing, but when you think that we only got to vote how many years ago? We’re still dealing with these kinds of paradigms. If you look at racial issues–I’m reading Truman’s autobiography at the moment–they were dealing with the very same situations that we’re dealing with today. It’s human nature to create these problems.”
On Patricia Arquette’s speech: “There is a lot of data to support what she said. A lot. Old ways die hard and I think women, in many ways, are still trying to figure out the pathway to being able to have certain things. I think that [Kate Hudson] deals with that on her level. She’s not me. She sees things her way, although we agree on a lot of things. In terms of the business itself, you just have to be smart.”

The article points out that Goldie hasn’t starred in a movie since 2002?s The Banger Sisters. A full decade of no Goldie seems wrong, but that’s what happens to women in Hollywood, especially in the romantic comedy genre.
I really like what Goldie has to say about making a long-term relationship endure. Learning how to agree to disagree seems like the biggest step, along with both parties wanting to stay together despite differences. She and Kurt make it work with no marriage certificate required. Good for them.

Kate Hudson is promoting Wish I Was Here (Zach Braff’s Kickstarter movie) in England. The movie is about how Braff’s character (a struggling actor trying to find his own identity) decides to homeschool his two children. Chaos ensues. I haven’t seen the movie, but it sounds like Kate plays the “thankless wife” role. I guess that’s better than her endless stream of romcoms?
Kate visited Alan Carr: Chatty Man. She decided, for whatever reason, to discuss her encounters with the supernatural. Kate says she and her mom, Goldie Hawn, possess the ability to see ghosts. They both see them all the time. Maybe Kate and Goldie found some good stuff to smoke? I don’t know. Kate says she’s witnessed “a ghost of a woman with no face” which was “very creepy.” The clips of this discussion have been yanked from YouTube, but here are some quotes:

“Why is being dead funny?” must come with a context. I’ve never seen a ghost before, but I doubt telling them the year would help. Is that supposed to make the ghost behave rationally and go away? Now, I’ve heard some weird stuff. When my dog died last year, I heard strange “doggie” footsteps that didn’t belong to my other dog. It was probably a case of overactive imagination. Everyone thought I was nuts. At least I didn’t tell the footsteps that it’s 2014. When I got a new dog, the strange noises stopped. Crazy, right?
Here’s Kate at the premiere of Wish I Was Here in London. She’s wearing an Emanuel Ungaro sheer tank with ginormous Ungaro trousers. Her shoes are Saint Laurent although they don’t matter. Those pants swallow everything. Ghost pants.

Stepping out for some quality time with her parents, Kate Hudson was spotted soaking up the sunshine on the west coast on Wednesday (October 27).
Clad in a casual ensemble, the ?Fool?s Gold? chick met up with Goldie Hawn and her life partner, Kurt Russell, to visit a friend's house in Santa Monica, California.
Last week, the trio attended the Elle?s Women in Hollywood tribute as did Hudson?s current musician boyfriend, Matt Bellamy.
And, although the couple is happy together, don?t expect to hear wedding bells anytime soon. Kate recently told Elle Magazine, "Marriage is definitely not something I?m looking for. But the divorce doesn?t put me off. I?ll just see what happens.?

Goldie Hawn told a potentially embarrassing story at an event honoring her daughter, Kate Hudson, earlier this week. Hudson was being honored at Elle’s 17th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute. Goldie gave a little too much information about Hudson’s birth in her speech, but it could have been worse. She explained that her daughter was feisty even in the womb and that influenced her decision to call her “Kate” instead of “Rebecca” as she planned. (I could never name a girl Rebecca after seeing that creepy Hitchcock movie!) Goldie also said that doctors thought Kate was a boy when they first got her out after the c-section but that she knew intuitively that her baby was a girl. To me Goldie’s speech is a sweet reminder of how fast time goes and how precious and unique our children are from the day they’re born. It’s also a little weird.
At ELLE’s 17th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute Monday in Beverly Hills, Goldie Hawn honored daughter Kate Hudson.
During her introduction, she recalled Hudson’s raucous birth in 1979.
“I was on the 405, and she was inside me, and I was fooling around, and I felt really good, about 8 months [pregnant], and I was going to name her Rebecca because it was biblical and romantic and gentle. All of sudden, she punched me so hard in my you-know-where,” Hawn, 64, told the audience. “I screamed and I said, ?Oh my God. This is a Kate, not a Rebecca!’ She is a Kate!”
On delivery day, Hawn continued, “I was lying there and they were slicing and dicing or whatever, I had a C-section, I had my nails done … and all of sudden, out she comes and they said, ‘It?s a boy!’ And I said, ‘No it?s a girl!’ And, by the way, I didn?t know what it was. I just felt that it was a girl. And then they said, ‘Oh, no it?s a girl!’ And I said, ‘What part of her anatomy were you looking at?!’”
Hawn said Hudson, now 31, was “a voracious eater. She is a voracious human being and she still likes to eat. And she is also voracious about life.
“I will say, I am very proud,” Hawn continued, looking at her daughter. “I am deeply proud of your character, and I am very proud of your tenacity. You stick to your guns … and I am proud of your talent.”
When it came time for Hudson to speak, she said she was “emotional.
“I don?t know how I am going to follow my mother!” she went on. “I have learned so much from the people that I have been blessed enough to work with, and I can’t wait for more,” she said. “I have grown up watching my parents, and I have watched them in their incredible ability and their professionalism, and their body of work is also so inspiring to me. I only hope that I can live up to that in a way, or at least try as hard as I can.”
As for being a woman in Hollywood, Hudson said no one can top her mother. “I have this stunning, iconic mother … I have a grounded, aspiring, and philanthropist mother. She is not just a talent and crazy and gorgeous and beautiful. She is truly an inspiring mother. Again, I can only hope that, as a mother, I can live up to that.”

I don’t get the part where Goldie says she was on the highway and she was “fooling around” and felt really good when she was pregnant. It sounded at first to me like she was having sex, but that makes no sense if she was in car. She was famous back then (remember Foul Play from 1978 with Chevy Chase? I love that movie!) so maybe she was in a chauffeured car with her boyfriend in the back. I don’t want to think too much about it, but it’s probably worse for Kate.
Speaking of Kate and making out, she was spotted with her new beau, British musician Matt Bellamy, at the event. The Huffington Post has a lot of pictures of them looking super cozy there. They look very much in love and it’s sweet. Maybe Bellamy is the one for her. I was surprised by how short-looking Bellamy is! Kate is just 5? 6? and she was noticeably taller than him in heels.

The Holiday Season is a time for family, and yesterday (December 22) Kate Hudson was spotted out in Aspen, Colorado with her loved ones.
The “Fool’s Gold” babe chilled out with mother Goldie Hawn, brother Oliver Hudson, and very pregnant sister-in-law Erinn Bartlett in the mountainside town.
At one point, Kate and Goldie parted ways with Oliver and Erinn and ran into fellow actress Melanie Griffith while grabbing some coffee.
And though it may be hard for Kate to spend the holidays single, after a recent split with ex-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, it looks like she has plenty of family love to keep her spirits high.

She has been a mainstay at the New York Yankees games as of late, chilling out with her parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell as well as the wives of the players, and now it seems Kate Hudson is looking to become Alex Rodriguez’s babymama.
According to an inside source, the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actress has fallen head-over-heels in love with the Yankees stud and now she has babies on the brain.
The source revealed, “Kate just turned 30 and she’s ready to have her second child. She wants Ryder to have a sibling, so she brought up the idea to Alex and told him that they would make a beautiful baby together, and that she would assume all financial responsibility.”
Whether or not A-Rod was keen for the idea remains to be seen. After all, he already has two daughters, 4yrs and 16 months.

No one really knows the current state of Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson?s relationship. Are they on-again or off-again? Are they living together, partying together, are they engaged or are they not speaking? Last I heard, they were still seeing each other on the downlow, and may be getting engaged at some point, sort of. But The National Enquirer is claiming that Owen and Kate are totally over. Not just that, but Kate?s mother Goldie Hawn was the one to break them up.
It seems Goldie isn?t the free spirit many would imagine - which I totally buy. I think Goldie?s probably pretty shrewd, and a half-decent judge of character. When Goldie saw Owen Wilson, she saw trouble. Goldie sat Kate down and told her that Owen was and is too big of a ?risk? for both Kate and Kate?s son Ryder:

Goldie has a point. Even though I think Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson probably care about each other quite a bit, Owen needs to work on his problems by himself before he can be really committed to someone, especially a single mother with a young child. The reporting was pretty consistent that Owen?s friends thought Kate was a bad influence on Owen, though. They thought she was a love ?em and leave ?em type who would break Owen?s heart and leave him devastated and suicidal yet again. I?m not sure if I buy that Kate is such a maneater, but perhaps a timeout for the relationship will be a good thing.
