They had a pretty public breakup, but now it looks like Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez are giving their romance a second chance.
The “Fool’s Gold” babe and the Yankees stud were spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday and it appeared that they were house hunting.
Kate and A-Rod enlisted the help of Kate’s dad Kurt Russell in their quest to find a property on the Pacific Palisades and Malibu areas.
All of the homes they visited were in the $10+ million price range and had at least six bedrooms. They ended their day with dinner at Taverna Tony’s in Malibu.

Getting down to work on her new flick “Earthbound,” Kate Hudson was spotted milling around the New Orleans set yesterday (January 26).
The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” babe chatted with costar Gael Garcia Bernal, looking cute in a white blouse with red trousers and black Converse All-Stars.
“Earthbound” is a comedy about a guarded woman who finds out she’s dying of cancer. But when she meets her match, the threat of falling in love is scarier than death.
In addition to Kate Hudson and Gael Garcia Bernal, the film also boasts a cast including Kathy Bates, Whoopi Goldberg, and Steven Weber.

The backless dress is becoming the red carpet attire of choice this awards season. Kate Hudson gave it her seal of approval at the Screen Actors Guild Awards as she wowed the waiting crowds in her sweeping white gown. The Emilio Pucci creation featured a high neckline and long sleeves but made up for the modesty with a plunging back and a silver sequined panel. Kate accessorised with a tassel necklace dangling down her back, a messy updo and neutral make-up.

She’s never single for long, and it looks like Kate Hudson has already found another main squeeze to keep her company.
According to a report, the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actress was overheard bragging to her friends over breakfast while showing off cell phone pictures of the new guy.
An eyewitness at A Votre Sante in Brentwood, California told press Miss Hudson kept bragging, “He’s a photographer!”
The source added, “At one point, they burst out laughing and one said ‘Oh my God!’ Kate had a flirtatious smile on her face and looked really giddy.”

Stepping out for a leisurely weekend lunch, Kate Hudson was spotted leaving a cafe in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (January 16).
Joined by a few gal pals, the “Fool’s Gold” hottie donned a pair of stylish red shades as she tried to use one of her girlfriends as a shield to block the view of pursuing paparazzi.
The previous evening, Miss Hudson was in party mode as she made her way over to the Buffalo Club in Santa Monica for a Pre-Golden Globes fete.
The outing comes just as the 30-year-old actress readies for her presenter duties at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Beverly Hills.

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez?s breakup several weeks ago has been the subject of many whispers lately. At first, the reports basically claimed that Kate Hudson wanted to move fast and settle down, and either move in together or get engaged. A-Rod seemed to be fueling those rumors, and ?sources? close to him painted Kate as an overly-involved, needy, smothering girl who couldn?t get over A-Rod and his centaur self. Many of the new rumors are in the same vein, so maybe there?s something there. First, the New York Daily News and OK! Magazine report that A-Rod was still in love with Madonna, and Kate was jealous:
Kate to Madge: If you want A-Rod, you can have him.
Starlet Kate Hudson dumped Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez after eight months because his heart still belongs to Madonna, OK! Magazine reported.
Hudson warned A-Rod that if he continued talking to the Material Girl she would leave. She kept her promise when A-Rod kept calling and texting the singer.
“Kate was mad with jealousy,” said a source. “She gave A-Rod three chances to stop contacting Madonna. How would you feel if your new boyfriend kept calling his ex?”
The source said it broke Hudson’s heart but she didn’t want to be “the other woman.” “She said that if Madonna is what A-Rod wants then she can have him.”

Yeah, I?m with Kate on this one. If the guy I was dating with still texting his ex-girlfriend - who just happened to be Madonna - I would be livid. Meanwhile, Betty Confidential reported that Kate is still hellbent on getting back with A-Rod, and has been stalking him. Sort of. More like calling him incessantly and trying to prove that she?s not the same needy, smothering girl:
Breaking up is hard to do. Just ask Kate Hudson, who has been leaving phone messages for her ex, Alex Rodriguez, frequently since they split earlier this month. An insider tells BettyConfidential that the Nine star has been reaching out to A-Rod but the Yankee third baseman isn?t taking her calls.
While Kate has mocked the tabloids? characterization of her as someone who gets too serious with guys too quickly ? she told Harper?s Bazaar earlier this month, ?I?m not needy? ? the insider says her behavior tells a different story.
?Kate realizes now that she drove Alex away by being so pushy about marriage,?? the source says. ?She?s left him messages, but he hasn?t returned her calls. She wants to talk to him about how they can work it out without having to tie the knot.?
But Alex is telling friends that he?s moved on. According to the insider, A-Rod?s told pals that he?s not angry with Kate ? he still has feelings for her ? but he doesn?t believe that she would settle for anything less than marriage. ?He thinks that after a month or two, she?ll start needling him about setting the date and he?s not ready to get married again,? the source says. ?He may never be ready. Right now, he doesn?t see a wedding happening in the near future. He stayed with his ex-wife [Cynthia] longer than he should have to try and work things out, but it didn?t help. It wasn?t the answer.?
??Now Alex is enjoying his freedom and is having fun being in the company of new people. He?s not looking to get seriously involved with anyone and if he does, it won?t be a famous woman,? the insider says. ?After being involved with Madonna and Kate, Alex doesn?t want to share the limelight.??
As BettyConfidential previously reported, Alex has been spending time with his daughters, Natasha 5, and Ella, 19 months, in South Florida since he and Kate broke up.
But he recently returned to Manhattan, where he owns an apartment, and was spotted doing some last-minute Christmas shopping on Fifth Avenue and then stopping for a drink at Uncle Jack?s Steakhouse on 56th Street. ?He?s just doing the bachelor thing,? the insider says. ?He?s hanging out and is enjoying meeting new people.??
As for Kate, she was in New York for the premiere of her movie, Nine, with her mom, Goldie Hawn, but returned to California where she tried to get into the holiday spirit by hosting her own star-studded Christmas bash at her Pacific Palisades home, sans Alex.
Sources say she and guests partied until the wee hours of the morning. The next day, looking a little worse for wear, Kate boarded a private plane with her son, Ryder, 4, and headed to Aspen, where she spent the holidays, as usual, with her mom, Kurt Russell, brother Oliver and his wife, Erin.
But while her Christmas was warm and loving, Kate?s plans for New Year?s Eve have reportedly been ruined in the wake of her split with A-Rod. According to Life & Style magazine, the couple was scheduled to appear together at several parties in Miami, but now Kate has canceled her plans to attend. So who will the exes be cuddling up to on New Year?s Eve? Stay tuned.

I?ve said it before, but I really don?t buy this version of Kate Hudson. I think she?s a fun girl who doesn?t take anything this seriously. She was probably hurt that A-Rod didn?t want to be with her, and maybe she did try calling him to try to talk things out, but I don?t really have an image of Kate being so? desperate, you know? She?s a pretty girl who likes to have fun, and there will always be men who eat that up.
Which is In Touch Weekly?s version - they claim that Kate has ?wasted no time? in getting back in contact with her ex Owen Wilson. A source tell ITW: ?They hadn?t seen each other for some time, but when things took a turn for the worse with Alex, Kate got in touch with Owen, They are reestablishing their friendship - we?ll see what happens.? ITW also notes that Owen ?always seems available whenever Kate needs him? and that they ?know each other really well? and ?their friends think there are unresolved feelings between them.? All of this was probably written before Owen spent the holidays with a mystery girl (and there are photographs to prove it), but something does ring true about this. I?m not saying Kate and Owen will get back together, but I do believe they probably still talk a lot.

Making a few last minute purchases during a Christmas Eve outing, Kate Hudson was spotted hitting the shops in Aspen, Colorado on Thursday afternoon (December 24).
Joined by a gal pal, the “Bride Wars” babe looked like a kid in a candy store while trying on pearls and diamond necklaces at Distractions Jewelry Boutique.
Not one to be concerned with price-tags, Kate whipped out her credit card without asking any questions and looked quite pleased upon exiting the store.
The sighting comes just as Miss Hudson’s new movie, “Nine,” made its way into theaters on Christmas Day.
Talking about working on the star-studded musical, Kate told press, “Rob [Marshall] sort of created an environment, not unlike in Almost Famous, when we did this thing called ‘rock school’. It was this very similar type of, you know, where everybody was in it together, and we all eat lunch together, and we would sort of watch each other’s rehearsal process, and root for each other and get real intimate. So to have that rehearsal time, was a dream.”
The 30-year-old beauty adds, “To be able to sing and dance, you know. I used to do that in the mirror when I was little and everything, from Janet Jackson to Ann Margaret, just singing and dancing that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. And I’ve never had the opportunity to do it until now.”

The Holiday Season is a time for family, and yesterday (December 22) Kate Hudson was spotted out in Aspen, Colorado with her loved ones.
The “Fool’s Gold” babe chilled out with mother Goldie Hawn, brother Oliver Hudson, and very pregnant sister-in-law Erinn Bartlett in the mountainside town.
At one point, Kate and Goldie parted ways with Oliver and Erinn and ran into fellow actress Melanie Griffith while grabbing some coffee.
And though it may be hard for Kate to spend the holidays single, after a recent split with ex-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, it looks like she has plenty of family love to keep her spirits high.

Fresh off of a flight out of Santa Monica, Kate Hudson reunited with her growing son Ryder in snowy Aspen, Colorado on Monday afternoon (December 21).
After stopping for a warm beverage, the mother/son duo took a leisurely stroll around town - as Kate made the trip to the mountain locale to celebrate Christmas after her much publicized split from Yankee Alex Rodriguez earlier this month.
As for her breakup with A-Rod, a source recently told the NY Daily News, “Kate is better off without A-Rod. She had much better chemistry with Owen Wilson.”
The insider adds, “Alex is such a diva. When he came to the London premiere of ‘Nine,’ it was obvious he didn’t like standing in the background. He’’d show up late to every appearance.”
