Pairing up for a day of Comic-Con promotions, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds turned up at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California on Saturday (July 24).
The "Gossip Girl" hottie showed off a little more skin than usual in a low-cut, white, sleeveless top with black pants as she joined her hunky co-star in taking part in a "Green Lantern" panel discussion.
With fellow movie mates Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong as well as director Martin Campbell also on hand, Ryan dished on why he loves the "Green Lantern" character, saying, "He could throw a punch, tell a joke, and kiss the girl. I couldn't figure out who wouldn't want to play that for a movie...or maybe two or three."
Meanwhile, Blake received quite the applause as she announced to the packed audience, ?I?m excited to go to the Harry Potter panel next!?

When Scarlett Johansson was announced as the winner of best actress at the Tony Awards she first got up and kissed her co-star Liev Schreiber on the cheek, and then turned around and kissed her husband Ryan Reynolds, also on the cheek, as if it were an afterthought. (That video is above.) Then in her speech she eventually thanked her husband after thanking the theater community, her co-workers and family. Ryan looked pleased at the mention, but it sounded like he came last after everyone else she could think of. (That’s at 2:25 in the video above.) According to sources quoted in the National Enquirer, Ryan found Scarlett’s gratitude lacking. They could be basing this story solely on her behavior at the Tony’s, but either way it doesn’t look like she has a solid relationship with Ryan.
[Ryan Reynolds] is furious, complaining that his beautiful wife cares more about her career - and her co-star - than their marriage.
“Ryan is fuming that Scarlett blew him off so flagrantly,” a Broadway insider told The Enquirer.
“When she gave Liev a big wet kiss on national TV, it made Ryan sick.”
Scarlett - who won the award for her acclaimed role in Broadway’s “A View from the Bridge” - leapt to her feel when her name was announced.
She immediately kissed Liev - but didn’t even look in Ryan’s direction before heading toward the stage. The 25 year-old-actress eventually realized her slight, and made a hasty dash back to give Ryan a quick peck.
She then proceeded to offer a backhanded compliment to her 33-year-old husband, telling the audience: “To my Canadian, whom I live with. Ryan, thank you for becoming a theater widower for me.”
Ryan had attended the June 13 event in an attempt to quell rumors that the couple’s marriage - after only a year and eight months - is on the rocks, says the source.
“That kiss to Liev was the ultimate insult. Scarlett celebrated her win as if Ryan was invisible.”
Ryan tore into Scarlett later that night, and Scarlett accused him of ruining her special night, according to the source. There’s been tension between them ever since.
[From The National Enquirer, print edition, July 5, 2010]
Yesterday we heard Scarlett graciously defend herself from people criticizing her Tony win so early in her Broadway career. She claimed that she understood why people found her undeserving and that she “knows what it?s like to struggle as an actor.” That’s arguable considering that she got her start on film before she was teenager, but uncertainty is part of any actor’s career I guess.
The question now is whether Scarlett’s relationship with Ryan is suffering. We’ve heard this about them before - that Scarlett and Ryan are spending too much time away from each other working, and are “growing apart” and “arguing about scheduling.” There are rumors that they’re renewing their vows on their second wedding anniversary, though, and are planning to adopt a baby from Ethiopia. I think they’re in it for the long haul, but we’ll see. If they do adopt a baby they’ll have a lot of changes to work around.

| Sandra Bullock's big comeback role will be a rom-com with Ryan Reynolds | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ll admit it, I never saw The Proposal. I don?t care for Ryan Reynolds nor formulaic romantic comedies on general principle, which is why I didn?t see it initially. Then I didn?t see it just because I was too lazy to go look for it (the Blockbuster closest to my house shut down, sad face). Anyway, long story short, I have no idea if Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock had or have any chemistry together. I tended to suspect they didn?t, although Bullock is certainly capable of having chemistry with a brick wall. My guess is that Ryan and Sandra were close friends rather than the ideal rom-com duo. Maybe I?m wrong. But they?re going to get a second chance to make a first impression (on me): Ryan and Sandra are reuniting for a new rom-com called Most Wanted. It will be Sandra?s first film since her Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side. It will also be her first role since the whole marriage implosion thing.
The creative team behind “The Proposal” — stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, director Anne Fletcher, writer Pete Chiarelli and producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman — are reuniting for “Most Wanted,” an action comedy project that sold to Universal over the weekend.
The story sees Bullock as a criminal suspect with Reynolds as an FBI agent who is supposed to be escorting her to court when the two are ambushed and forced to go on the run. The project is described as having a tone similar to that of “Midnight Run,” Universal’s 1988 action comedy starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. Universal is developing a sequel to “Midnight Run.”
The pitch originally went into Disney, the company that made “Proposal,” the hit romantic comedy made via its Touchstone label that grossed more than $317 million and was part of Bullock’s comeback year. Since the movie’s June 2009 release, however, Disney has undergone a regime change and the company is de-emphasizing Touchstone, preferring to focus on the core Disney brand and hoping to make movies that can be taken advantage by the wide spectrum of the company.
When Disney passed, the team took a breather before taking it to the rest of the town. By late last week, the project was fielding multiple offers before being captures by Universal. Reynolds will also exec produce along with this Dark Trick Films partner Jonathon Komack-Martin.
Chiarelli is a former MGM exec who in his spare time wrote “The Proposal.” The script has kicked off a writing career, with the scribe working on “What Men Want” for Paramount and “Forever 21? at DreamWorks. He is repped by CAA and Mosaic. Fletcher, who is developing “Enchanted 2? for Disney, is repped by UTA. Bullock and Reynolds are repped by CAA.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
Eh, it sounds like an interesting concept, I suppose. It reminds me a little of that one Bullock did with Ben Affleck? whajamacallit, Forces of Nature. Two people thrown together, a series of hotel rooms, scrounging for available transportation. Now, I don?t want to be rude or anything, because I really am on The Bullock Bandwagon, for real, but isn?t Sandra above this sh-t? Yes, she?s a good actress, and yes, she?s still America?s Sweetheart and a rom-com queen and all, and maybe she just wants to make a fun movie rather than an Oscar-bait one, but still. You?d think that this project wouldn?t read ?Bullock!? immediately. Unless she gets to beat the crap out of Ryan. That would be good. I might go see it in that case.

Looking to get rid of one of their mortgages, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have put their Hollywood mansion up for sale.
The “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and her “Just Friends” hubby repotedly put the home up for $4.95 million, much cheaper than the $7 million Scarlett paid for in 2007.
The gated has been home includes a media room, gym or maids room with full bath, extensive basement areas, a lap pool and spa with a tranquil hillside view.
The couple has been spending most of their time in their New York City home while Johansson debuts on Broadway in “A View From a Bridge.”

Okay, I?m one of those rare women who is left cold by Ryan Reynolds. Always and forever. I wasn?t even hot for him after that infamous shirtless Entertainment Weekly cover. I?m not sure what it is, but the guy seems like he could be a major pill in real life, and he always strikes me as smug and full of himself. Of course, there some evidence to indicate that is exactly what he really is like.
Anyway, I came across these photos and I might be changing my mind about Ryan. Because he looks like a friggin? magazine photo shoot just walking down the street. Something about that beautiful coat that fits him really well and that I?d like to borrow, those perfect jeans, the way that he?s strutting. Okay, I finally see it, ladies. Ryan is hot. He needs to stand up straight though. That?s quite a hipster slouch. Douche. No! I like him now. Sigh… it will last a day.
In other Ryan news, his independent film Buried has been named one of the ?five most likely films to face a bidding war at Sundance.? Apparently, Buried is about a civilian contractor in Iraq who gets buried alive. And that?s the movie. Ryan, buried alive for 90 minutes. High concept indeed.
Buried
WHAT IT?S ABOUT: A civilian contractor (Ryan Reynolds) in Iraq is kidnapped and buried alive, with only a cell phone, a lighter and about 90 minutes to save himself before suffocating.
UPSIDE: Reynolds is coming off a terrific year in high-visibility hits (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Proposal), and come on: Who wouldn?t want a crack at distributing the Ryan Reynolds-trapped-in-a-coffin movie?
DOWNSIDE: In the end, it is just the Ryan Reynolds-trapped-in-a-coffin movie. Despite a cast that also lists Samantha Mathis and Stephen Tobolowski, I?m told that Reynolds is indeed the only one onscreen in the film. Too much Ryan?
POTENTIAL BIDDING WARRIORS: Lionsgate, Magnet, Screen Gems
HOW MUCH? A little north of $1 million, maybe more if Screen Gems ? Sony?s genre label, and not generally a huge fest buyer ? gets involved.
[From Movieline]
Buried sounds interesting, I guess. It was probably an acting challenge for Ryan, and it?s an unusual concept for a film. But if I?m only going to stare at one actor for 90 minutes as I watch him sexily save himself, I want it be Clive ?Sexy Motherf-cker? Owen. Can I get a witness?

Keeping in tip-top shape, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were busy logging a workout session at the Fitness Factory in West Hollywood on Saturday (October 10).
Having a laugh with the personal trainer upon hitting the exit, Scarlett used her Pink hoodie to cover up from paparazzi as she followed Ryan out to their nearby car.
Meanwhile, Miss Johansson recently spoke with press about her interest in taking on a role in a big musical if it becomes available.
“When I was a kid, I started acting because I wanted to be in movie musicals and on Broadway. I took a lot of vocal lessons and I thought I was going to be Judy Garland or something. It’s always been my dream to do a movie musical. I always wanted to sing on camera,” she explained.
While denying rumors that she’s already involved in such a project, ScarJo adds, “I’m really excited that it’s sort of been revived. It’s nice that I maybe have a chance to do it.”

Putting their time in at the gym, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were spotted walking to their workout facility earlier today (September 28) in Manhattan.
The “Relator” singer and her “Van Wilder” hubby looked geared up and ready to break a sweat as they both hid under sunglasses while passing the snapping photogs.
A little while later, Ms Johansson emerged from the gym, looking clean and cute while still jamming to her iPod.
And in other news, it was recently announced that Scarlett is the newest actress to join the “Guys of Iron Man 2.” Of her new role, she says, “I think I imbued enough femininity to quiet them down a little.”

| Sandra Bullock tries to save Ryan Reynolds Scarlett's marriage | Added 15 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It?s no secret that Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are friends. The two have apparently known each other for years - but they also starred together in this year?s hit film The Proposal. I know some people just adore both of them, or just Sandra, or whatever, but I didn?t care for that particular publicity tour. It sometimes seemed like Sandra and Ryan were trying to out-smug each other during joint interviews - and I know Sandra isn?t really like that, so I?ll just blame Ryan. In one particular interview, Ryan and Sandra praised each other?s marriage, with Ryan telling Sandra ?I love that your marriage ? and forgive the ineloquence here ? is not for sale.? To which Sandra replied, ?We?re very similar in that way.?
Sandra?s marriage might be in good standing - but there have been quite a few rumors about Ryan and his wife Scarlett Johansson the past few months. They?ve allegedly been fighting about everything from her career (something about how she works too much) to all of the fanboys falling all over themselves for her, to babies, to Ryan?s ex-girlfriend Alanis Morissette?s tell-all book, to all of those rumors that Ryan is really, really unpleasant in person. According to multiple reports, ScarJo and Ryan got into some kind of huge screaming fight just before Comic Con, which ?caused such a rift between them that Ryan refused to attend the conference and he told Scarlett she could go alone. She got so angry she threatened to take off her wedding band.? After the drama settled, it seemed Ryan turned to his good friend Sandy for some marriage counseling:
Sandra Bullock has gone from ?Miss Congeniality? to marriage counselor.,, she is helping Ryan Reynolds save his rocky marriage to Scarlett Johansson, say sources.
?Ryan and Scarlett have been going through a rough patch,? revealed an insider. ?Sandra is helping them weather it. She told them that every marriage has its problems - hers included. But she says they can get through it if they?re willing to put the time and effort into making things work, even if it means going to couples counseling.?
Scarlett, 24, was upset because of Ryan?s motorcycle riding, which she considers too risky. Then his former fiance, singer Alanis Morissette, threatened to write a tell-all book.
The couple, who were married in Vancouver last September, reportedly had a major blowup in San Diego.
Sandra - an old friend of Ryan?s - saw what happening and stepped in to provide some wise relationship advice.
?No one knows better than Sandra how to juggle marriage with a Hollywood career,? said the insider. ?Her relationship with Jesse James has been solid since they got hitched more than four years ago.?
?Because Sandra and Jesse seemed so different, no one gave their union much hope for lasting as long as it has. Sandra told Ryan the most important thing is that he and Scarlett need to make time for one another, even though they both have busy schedules.?
?She told him, ?There is no substitute for togetherness.? Sandra pointed out that she and Jesse take quick vacations together - just hopping on the back of his bike and hitting the road.?
Ryan listens to Sandra, says the insider, because ?he has tremendous respect for her as a person and an actress.?
[From the National Enquirer, print edition, September 14 2009]
I know a lot of people like Scarlett and Ryan as a couple - even my mom likes them, for goodness sake - but I really don?t think it?s going to last. Maybe I?m way off-base, and I totally admit I?ve read some relationships incorrectly in the past. But I just don?t get a happy vibe off Ryan and ScarJo. I think he seems like he would be a massive pain in the ass as a husband, and ScarJo seems like her top priority is her career (which is fine, in my book - she?s 24 years old, if she wants to work, she should work). It won?t really matter if Sandra brings her magic touch - not even The Bullock can save this union.

Looks like we won’t have to be looking for any baby bumps soon – as Ryan Reynolds and wife, Scarlett Johansson, are planning to adopt.
“My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time,” Reynolds, 32, tells Britain’s Glamour magazine. “I’m very grateful for having my brother in my life. I couldn’t be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world that need it.”
The couple married at an intimate ceremony at a Canadian wilderness retreat last year.
Reynolds grew up in Vancouver, Canada. “I learned how to take a punch from a very early age.”
The “Proposal” star says, “I have my father’s face and body, but my mother’s unshakeable thirst for knowledge. She works part-time jobs, but basically she’s been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she’s in her 60s.”

Ryan Reynolds and his abs of steel appear on the upcoming cover of Entertainment Weekly. Clad only in a very low cut pair of swimming trunks and wearing swimmies, a snorkel and a mask, Ryan looks like he’s poking fun at his hard-to-deny sex symbol status with some kiddie accessories. You just can’t hide those razor sharp hip bones and that tight body, though.
Reynolds is promoting his romantic comedy with Sandra Bullock, The Proposal, which is out in the US tomorrow. The film looks like crap, but people will probably see it because it’s light fare at a time when a lot of us need a mental break.
I get the impression that Reynolds is kind of an arrogant jerk after reading some stories about his diva behavior with fans and on set, but he’s decent enough in this interview. EW even mentions that Ryan isn’t arrogant, as if it’s something that really needs to be said when you’re talking about Reynolds:
Ryan Reynolds is simply too smart and self-aware to be so good-looking. The reticent hunk?who kicks off our Must List for 2009, thanks to his big-screen summer double shot of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Proposal–spent his EW cover shoot wielding a giant water gun instead of an ego, and try as he might, he simply cannot muster the arrogance to flaunt what he’s got. When asked if he’s comfortable as a sex symbol, Reynolds sighs. “If you take any of that seriously, you need to be euthanized, ASAP,” he says. “There are moments when you can use that to your advantage. But it’s really embarrassing. I think I fear more than anything just sounding like a complete a–hole when I have to answer that question.”
So let’s skip to the work, where the 32-year-old Canadian is more at home. Of late, he’s certainly done enough of it. In a span of 15 months Reynolds shot four consecutive films: April’s teen comedy Adventureland; Wolverine, soon to spawn a spin-off for Reynolds’ sarcastic mercenary-turned-mutant, Deadpool; The Proposal, a romantic comedy (in theaters Friday) that lets him crack wise opposite old friend Sandra Bullock; and Paper Man, which debuted this month at the L.A. Film Festival, where Reynolds plays Jeff Daniels’ imaginary superhero friend. (He also found time last September to wed actress Scarlett Johansson, a marriage he prefers not to talk about beyond calling it “fantastic.”)…
But even if the cross-gender appeal of this summer’s labor vaults Reynolds into the marquee stratosphere many have long anticipated he’ll reach, the Man Who Was Van Wilder But Has Since Proven He’s Capable of So Much More will still probably pass on the arrogance thing. “I’ve always just liked working. I like being a working actor,” he says. “There’s an old saying that you don’t ever finish a movie, you abandon it, and I really believe that. I never walk away from a take and pat myself on the back. You always walk away going, ‘Dammit, I should have tried this!’ It’s that possibility that keeps me coming back for more.” Wait, artistic integrity and hot abs? Did we mention the guy’s a Must?
[From EW.com]
I guess I don’t get Reynolds’ appeal. He’s aesthetically hot, but I don’t find him that attractive because he doesn’t seem cool to me at all. He comes across like a salesman and I can’t stand that type. It’s hard to get a read on his personality because it’s like he has this hard shell of fakeness on the outside. His new wife, Scarlett Johansson, also doesn’t strike me as interesting. She seems ok, but she kind of doesn’t register for me either. Maybe that’s why they’re good for each other. I’m not really rooting for Ryan to have a fabulous career. I’d rather see someone fun like Matthew McConaughey in these romcoms.
