I can?t think of any younger celebrity couple that I would consider the ?next Brangelina?. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are definitely more than the sum of their parts, a concentrated whirling dervish of A-list careers, charity work, money, fame and controversy. How in the world would Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds even compete with that? And why would they want to? But according to Star Magazine, Blake and Ryan do see themselves as the heirs-apparent to Brangelina. Huh? I?ll buy it about Blake wanting to be more like Angelina, but I don?t know about Ryan.
Ryan and Blake Lively are totally obsessed with becoming the next Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie!
?Ryan and Blake get extremely excited when people tell them they remind them of Brad and Angelina,? an insider tells Star. ?They love how Brad and Angie live their lives and they go out of their way to mirror them.?
For one, both couples have ditched the madness of Hollywood in favor of more private home bases. While the Jolie-Pitts have residences in New Orleans and France, the Reynoldses have hunkered down in Bedford and British Columbia. There?s also a mutual appreciation for art: Brad has apprenticed with Frank Gehry and designed his own furniture and ?Ryan loves art ? he never gets tired of museums.?
Blake and Ryan have also talked about their desire to have a large family. A source says, ?They definitely want to have a couple of children biologically, but they love the idea of adopting from Third World countries in order to draw attention to the places, like Brad and Angelina have done.?
Blake once said, ?I don?t have that whole Angelina Jolie air to me. I wish that I did.? A source says, ?Blake constantly monitors Angelina?s clothing style on and off the red carpet.? Blake also wants to begin to do humanitarian work ? ?Blake has a great deal of respect for all the humanitarian work Angie has done.?

Star also points out some other similarities ? the age gap between Blake and Ryan is 11 years, same age gap between Brad and Angelina. Brad and Ryan have both been People?s Sexiest Man, both Ryan and Brad ride motorcycles, and both couples met on-set, working on a film. Eh. Blake could have been a more scandalous and more Jolie-esque person if she had owned some of controversies, but she traded in a potential ?wild child? image for something much more wholesome. And I think that?s what she wants, that?s how she wants to be seen, as a wife and a cook and whatever. As for Ryan? he wishes he was seeing some of Brad?s scripts.

Here are some photos from last night?s NYC premiere of Turbo, that animated film about snails or racing or something. Ryan Reynolds does the voice for the main character, and as such, Ryan was the big star on the red carpet. Except that it?s still some huge SECRET (!) that he?s married to Blake Lively (even though he name-checked her several times in his Details interview), so Ryan and Blake once again walked the red carpet separately. I guess the message to all of us is ?Blake is the kind of wife who comes out to support her husband but they still have hang-ups about walking a red carpet together.? How Gwyneth Paltrow-esque.
I do think they had another reason for walking separately though ? I think they invited some extended family members to the premiere. Blake seemed to pose with someone called ?Jason Lively?? let?s see? he?s Blake?s half-brother. Which makes those little boys Blake?s? half-nephews? And I think Ryan might have brought a brother and a niece?
Ryan wore Burberry? something is not working for me with his whole look. I think the suit would have been better with a white dress shirt and a different tie. And his hair needs? something. As for Blake, she wore Burberry as well. I really like the skirt, quite honestly. It?s so sparkly, and the length is nice on her (she wears too many miniskirts). I like the ensemble more when she?s wearing the cardigan, but Blake just had to make sure the cameras got some skin, didn?t she?
PS? I?m adding a bonus photo of Michelle Rodriguez at the premiere because she looked especially fresh and pretty, I thought.

Here?s something I will never understand: if you?re a magazine editor and you get a somewhat major actor to pose for a real photoshoot for your magazine, why would you go out of your way to make it look like A) you hate the actor and/or B) that you?re cutting and pasting his image from some other source? I don?t know what to make of Details? August cover featuring Ryan Reynolds. It?s awful. And the rest of the shoot is pretty boring too. I wasn?t expecting much from the interview, so I was slightly surprised when Ryan did talk a little bit about married life with Blake and some interesting stuff about his family and career. He?s the youngest of four brothers, his dad was a cop: He was born in Vancouver to a working mom and a cop-turned-food-wholesaler father. “My brothers and I, we all look and move and sound so different, you’d never guess we exited the same vagina,” he says. “I pretty much got pounded the whole time. I don’t bruise easily anymore. I can’t tell you how many times the cops were called to our house.” But wait. . . wasn’t your dad a police officer then? “Yeah, that’s very embarrassing. When your dad’s a cop, calling 911 is really just like calling Dad at work.”
Early acting gigs: “I’d fantasize that I had tuberculosis,” he says. “It was just totally weird. I’d believe it, too. I told everybody I was dying from TB. To this day I can’t really explain it, other than it was just an obvious prelude to what I do now, living in make-believe in this hyperdramatized environment.”
He shades Green Lantern: “Every time I’ve gotten myself into trouble it’s because I’m choosing a project based on a long-term career goal as opposed to something that speaks to me at the moment,” he admits, citing Green Lantern. “When I signed on, there was no script. There was just some art to look at. It was a time when I thought, ‘Wow, I sort of have to do this.’ I felt I had to go forward even though I knew nothing about it.”
Trying not to discuss his personal life: “I don’t intentionally try to be evasive about that stuff,” he explains. “If you ask me to describe my relationship, I mean?words are too clumsy to accurately describe how I feel in that regard, particularly in an interview. It’s a strange thing. I understand the climate we live in and why people are curious. But it’s just tough and almost emotionally violent?for anyone, I think?to see your personal life summarized in a sentence.”
He wants to be a dad: “We’d love to have a big family,” he says. “We both come from big families?my parents did four, Blake’s did five. A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think. I think you have to let go of this idea that you can be precious about everything, and let it be the abstract mess that it is,” he says of the child-crammed life he’s envisioning, which, unlike his own family, he hopes will include some daughters. “I’m terrified that I’m genetically predisposed to only having boys. That’s frightening. By the time I was 10 years old, and I’m not exaggerating, I knew how to patch drywall. There’s nothing my brothers and I didn’t put a hole in. We turned our home into a Wiffle house. That’s something I’m not looking forward to.”
Moving beyond his comfort zone in his career: “There’s s–t-your-pants fear around every corner because I’m usually stepping out of a comfort zone that I haven’t done before in a film,” Reynolds says of his current projects. “But that’s the wonder of it, the beauty of it. I can’t say I’ve ever finished a film and been particularly thrilled with myself or patted myself on the back. And maybe that’s what keeps me going, and that’s a good thing. It speaks volumes about how I perceive myself. Like a lot of people, I’ve got a self-loathing streak that’s alive and well. It acts as a de facto engine when I’m working, but it also has its extraordinary pitfalls, too.”
He mentions Blake again: “I told Blake I was going to do this entire interview just singing ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ and see if you would print that verbatim,” he says. “Just hours of that.”

As for Ryan?s baby-longing? the tabloids keep claiming that Blake did a bait-and-switch on the baby issue, that she was all ?I would love to have babies!? when they were dating and now that she?s got the ring, she?s not really into it. It will be interesting to see if and when Blake gets knocked up. We?ll see, y?all.

Is it possible to say that Ryan Reynolds seems genuinely happy these days? While I have my doubts about whether his marriage to Blake Lively will stand the test of time, I do think that for now, during the honeymoon stage, he?s the happiest he?s ever been. Blake and Ryan seem to be a better match ? purely on superficial terms ? than Ryan and Scarlett Johansson.
Anyway, Ryan was in Barcelona a few days ago for the premiere of his new animated movie, Turbo. I saw the trailer for Turbo ? it?s an animated film that seems tailor-made for NASCAR dads and their sons. Ryan brought Blake along for the Barcelona trip, and while she didn?t walk the carpet with him, they did get photographed going out to dinner later that evening ? go here to see. While on the red carpet, Ryan admitted that Blake dresses him completely:

Every day that goes by since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married, I grow more and more shocked that Blake hasn?t announced a pregnancy. I thought for sure that she?d be knocked up right away. Note: I?m not saying that every woman should get pregnant two seconds after getting married or anything like that (it?s none of my business) this is very Blake-Ryan case-specific. Ryan and Scarlett Johansson split up (I believe) because he was and is Mr. Let?s-Settle-Down and ScarJo was all ?I want to get drunk every night with artists?. Ryan seemed to find more of a kindred spirit in Blake, and she made sure to prove her wifey credentials for him all the time. But now that she?s got the ring? Now she?s all ?babies what??
Ryan Reynolds, 36, is anxious to grace the world with ridiculously good-looking babies. He?s desperate to have a child of his own with wife Blake Lively! But Blake, 25, isn?t as keen on it because she wants to focus on her career.
?Ryan is getting quite impatient about it,? spills a friend close to the couple. ?Blake promised Ryan he?ll be a daddy by the time he?s 40. You can?t blame her for wanting to wait, because she?s so young, but he?s hell-bent on changing her mind. He?s wanted to start a family for years. It was one of the main reasons he split from Scarlett Johansson ? because she wasn?t interested.?

I don?t have a problem with Blake not wanting to get pregnant right away ? it?s her choice, her decision, etc. And I don?t have a problem with Ryan actively wanting to settle down and become a father. But the problem is that Ryan has chosen two young, career-driven, big-boobed blondes in a row and he still hasn?t learned that putting a ring on it doesn?t make them any more eager to have his gerbil-y babies. The whole ?having babies? thing should have been a major part of the conversation BEFORE THEY GOT MARRIED as opposed to something that he?s ?hellbent on changing her mind? about now.
For what it?s worth, Gossip Cop spoke to a ?source close to Lively? who claims the story is ?ridiculous?. Yeah. Just like Star ran all of those ridiculous stories about Ryan and ScarJo and how their marriage was falling apart.

Here are some more photos from last night?s ‘The Sound of Change Live’ concert at Twickenham Stadium in London ? I just covered Madonna?s puffy appearance here. As I said in the other post, this event got a really good turnout as far as celebrities go, and this event now has some a historical moment in gossip too: this is the first time that married couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have ever gone to an event together AND POSED TOGETHER. Sort of. Maybe they weren?t really ?posing? like on a red carpet, but they didn?t pitch a fit about being seen together either. Historic! I have to say? marriage is agreeing with them. He looks particularly good, doesn?t he? I?m not even a fan, but the haircut is great, he looks less gerbil-y, and it?s all working. One complaint: I?m in love with leather jacket and I actually think it might be a lady?s jacket?
Other photos from the event?Jessie J shaved her head recently, did you know that? She looks sort of like Amber Rose now. Which isn?t bad.
Florence Welch is like the ginger Stevie Nicks (as far as costumes go). I LOVE THIS.
Jennifer Lopez ?performed? in yet another skimpy (-ish) outfit. She recently defended her stage outfits and she basically didn?t understand why there was so much fuss about her outfits last week ? go here to read.

What would happen if Beetlejuice and Men In Black had a love child and that love child was an idiot? That love child idiot would be R.I.P.D., the new film starring Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds. I remember the photos from this film shoot too, and at the time I thought it was a standard-issue ?opposites attract? cop movie, like Lethal Weapon only with one old white guy and one young white guy. As it turns out, R.I.P.D. is ?supernatural? and extremely weird. That?s kind of on me, by the way. I never bothered researching this mess, and it?s only now that I?m discovering that the film is based on a comic called Demolition Man. R.I.P.D. stands for ?Rest In Peace Department? ? meaning that the characters Ryan and Jeff play are actually dead, and they?re like ghost cops. Why didn?t they just call this shiz ?Ghost Cops?? It would have been more to the point and less annoying. Here?s the first trailer:
The only bit I think is somewhat funny is the thing about how people in the real world see them as completely different people, and Jeff?s reality avatar is a really hot model chick. By the way, how in the world did Jeff Bridges ever sign on to this mess? What, he won his Oscar so he?s just doing crazy stuff now? And I swear to God, he?s still doing his Rooster Cogburn voice from True Grit (how amazing was True Grit?). I guess I understand why Ryan Reynolds said yes to this ? he wanted to work with Jeff and it?s not like Ryan gets all of the good scripts, you know? Ryan Gosling gets first choice. Reynolds is lucky if he gets Gosling?s throwaways.
Anyway, this comes out on July 19th? let?s see what it?s up against? The Lone Ranger will dominate the first weekend of the month, than Pacific Rim (maybe?) the week after that, and the only thing really competing with RIPD is the sequel to Red, that Bruce Willis/John Malkovich/Helen Mirren movie. I dunno? I?m kind of rooting for Red 2. Right?

Doing whatever it takes for his craft, Ryan Reynolds braved -7 degree temps to film scenes for ?Queen of the Night? in Sudbury, Canada yesterday (February 12).
The ?Van Wilder? stud was joined by Scott Speedman as he fled to a car in the midst of an intense fight scene while shutterbugs looked on.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that Ryan?s wife Blake Lively is growing tired of wilderness retreats and wants a snazzy getaway sooner than later.
An insider told press, ?He?s taken her camping on both of the short breaks they?ve managed to get in since their marriage in September, and Blake?s starting to worry they?ll never go on a fancy vacation again.?

Looking scruffy-but-handsome, the ?Ted? star wore his wedding ring proudly as he hit the store in grey jeans and a blue cardigan.
In career news, the 36-year-old is lending his voice to the animated film ?Turbo,? about a garden snail who dreams of winning the Indianapolis 500.
Reynolds also recently finished filming the action comedy ?R.I.P.D.,? which is slated for release on July 19.

Stepping out for a social call, Ryan Reynolds showed up at Kiwami restaurant in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (December 18).
The ?Van Wilder? hunk was joined by a friend for lunch, and looked handsome in a grey coat with a navy shirt, grey trousers, and black Converse All Stars as he waited for his car.
Earlier this month, Ryan joined Emma Stone to promote their new movie ?The Croods? at the 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks Animation?s 2013 Film Slate.
A prehistoric comedy adventure, the animated flick is scheduled to hit theaters on March 22nd, 2013 and also stars Nicolas Cage and Catherine Keener.
