Enjoying a night on the town, Jessica Simpson was in attendance at a birthday party for a friend on Friday night (September 13) in Santa Monica, CA.
The "Dukes of Hazzard" babe showed off her curves in a little black dress under a grey and white jacket as she headed inside Benihana to begin the celebration.
Recently, the second time mom talked with reporters about her pregnancy style while expecting her son Ace, and about what other celeb mom's style she envied.
"Kate Middleton was glowing throughout her pregnancy," Jessica shared. "A lot of pregnant moms were looking at her like, 'How do you do that?!'"

You?ll have to excuse me, I completely forgot this angle when I was writing about Jessica Simpson yesterday. We had additional quotes from Jessica?s Us Weekly exclusive (where she debuted baby Ace Knute for the pocket change of $100K), where she discussed how difficult it was to keep off the weight when she?s been pregnant for the better part of two and a half years. But I forgot that Jessica actually got $4 million from Weight Watchers. Did you forget that too? Yeah. She signed up with Weight Watchers when she was pregnant with Maxwell. Remember those halcyon days, where she thought she was going to lose 70 pounds of pregnancy weight as soon as she gave birth (she claimed she had a lot of amniotic fluid)? Well, Jessica did try to get into shape after she gave birth to Maxwell, but then she sort of gave up after a month and she got Eric to impregnate her again just so she could drop the diet. It worked! And now, two years later, Weight Watchers is all, ?So you remember our contract? Yeah.?
Jessica Simpson is desperate to lose her postbaby weight, not least because she stands to lose millions! During Jessica?s first pregnancy, with her daughter Maxwell, she signed a staggering $4 million deal with Weight Watchers ? but the contract was put on hold when the designer got pregnant with son Ace, who was born in June.
The weight-loss company publicly congratulated Jessica on her second pregnancy, but an insider says that the execs weren?t thriller.
?Weight Watchers retained Jessica as a spokesmodel ? but with an escape clause,? the source says. The company is determined to start airing the new ads, featuring a swiftly slender Jess, as soon as possible.
?Jessica is having a hard time sticking to the program, so the contract could be in jeopardy,? the source says.

WW is out $4 million because Farty McSluttyBrownies got pregnant again because she hated her diet. Stepping out for a delicious meal, Jessica Simpson showed up at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, California on Wednesday (August 28).
Joined by her fianc Eric Johnson and daughter Maxwell, the ?Fashion Star? babe looked beautiful in a tiger print shawl and black trousers as she strolled back to her car.
Ms. Simpson is featured on the cover of the new issue of US Weekly with her adorable baby boy Ace Knute and proud sister Maxwell, though in the interview she swears she?s done having kiddos.
Simpson explained, "Pregnancy is a lot. It was hard to do two so close together. I have this huge sense of accomplishment, and I feel in my heart that I?m done. But obviously, accidents do happen!"

I?ve spent a lot of time hatin? on Jessica Simpson?s fianc Eric Johnson. To be fair, Eric really doesn?t DO that much. He plays golf. He takes Jessica out to eat. He keeps getting her pregnant. He tries to breathe through his mouth when she drops one of her nuclear farts. Rinse and repeat. But I have come around on Eric slightly. Jessica seems very happy with him, he seems like a hands-on father and he does seem to genuinely love Jessica (and her bank account). Perhaps it?s possible that Jessica and Eric are perfect complements to each other? Perhaps. I think it helps that Jessica looks at Eric and she genuinely thinks, ?Wow, I scored such an amazing guy!? Which might explain why SHE gave HIM a push present after SHE gave birth to their son Ace Knute:

I mean, I know many of you hate the idea of ?push presents? or maybe you just hate the term ?push presents?. But it comes from a culturally historical place ? it?s been very common for centuries for the new father to give his wife (or as they said in the olden days, ?baby-mama?) something significant to mark the occasion of the birth of a child. There?s no real need to give the father something special? you just gave him a baby, you know? You pushed that sucker out after carrying the kid for nine months. You deserve a piece of jewelry. HE does not.

Jessica Simpson has finally popped out that second kid she’s been carrying around for 3 years. She gave birth in LA via C-section on Sunday and named the little guy Ace Knute Johnson. Terrible, just, terrible.

Jessica Simpson gave birth yesterday. To a little boy, which we knew already. Jessica announced she was having a boy months ago, and sources kept claiming that she and Eric Johnson had already picked out their perfect boy?s name: ACE. Ace Johnson. And that?s exactly what happened, only it?s so much worse once you know the kid?s middle name. Ace? Knute? Johnson. Pronounce it with the ?K?. Ka-nute. Apparently, ?Knute? is for Eric?s Swedish grandfather. The shenanigans are heavy with this one.
Maxwell’s baby brother has arrived! Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson have welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Ace Knute Johnson, her rep tells Us Weekly exclusively. Little Ace was born in Los Angeles via scheduled C-section on Sunday, June 30, the rep adds.
“Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great,” her rep tells Us. “Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition to their family.”
The singer, 32, and Johnson, 33, are already parents to daughter Maxwell, nearly 14 months. Us exclusively revealed in November 2012 that Simpson was pregnant again just seven months after Maxwell’s birth; Us also broke news in February that Simpson planned on naming her child “Ace.” (Ace’s middle name honors dad Eric’s Swedish paternal grandfather, Knute Johnson.)
In true Jessca fashion, the Fashion Star mentor accidentally confirmed the sex of her second baby-to-be to back in March. “The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous,” she joked of her morning sickness. After realizing her mistake, Simpson added, “Well, I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!”
And gender wasn’t the only difference for pregnancy number two. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on March 7, Simpson shared that “this pregnancy is the complete opposite. Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy,” she recalled. “This time around . . . I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.”
After about six months of dating, Simpson and Johnson, a Yale grad and former NFL player, got engaged in fall 2010, but were forced to postpone their nuptials twice due to her unexpected, back-to-back pregnancies. But a source recently told Us they’re hoping to (finally!) tie the knot soon.
At the Weight Watchers spokeswoman’s April 14 baby shower, she “was telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born,” the source told Us. “Jessica said, ‘Let’s have this wedding already before I get pregnant with another one!’”

Well, congrats. It sounds like mother and baby are doing fine. I bet Ace Knute was a big baby, just like Maxwell Drew. And I hope that Jessica went on the pill (or whatever) two seconds after giving birth, because if she doesn?t do that, Eric is just going to impregnate her again. I also have to give Jessica some props for having a much healthier pregnancy this time around ? she didn?t pack on the pounds like she did during her first pregnancy. That being said, I?m sure she?ll be in the gym as soon as possible because sources keep claiming that she wants to get married soon.

I?m kind of proud of Jessica Simpson. She?s shown the ability to grow as a person (and that?s not a joke about her weight, I really mean it). Do you remember how chaotic her first pregnancy was? Do you remember how many crazy/stupid/TMI interviews she gave during her first pregnancy? God, that was just last year!!!!! Her second pregnancy has been relatively quiet. She hasn?t been getting pap?d constantly, she hasn?t been giving endless interviews, and she hasn?t gained as much weight. So let?s celebrate!
These are some new pics of Jessica and Eric Johnson yesterday in Santa Monica. As you can see, Jessica is a lovely tie-dyed maternity muumuu that is neither flattering nor cute, but I give her some points for trying. I?m assuming she?s in the ?screw it, just give me a muumuu? stage of her pregnancy, which is to say she?s due any day now. I actually had money on Jessica giving birth BEFORE Kim Kardashian, so I?m assuming Jess is probably due next week or the week after. She?s having a boy this time. And sources ? the same sources who correctly claimed that Jessica would name her daughter ?Maxi? ? claim that Jessica and Eric have already settled on a name for their son: ACE JOHNSON.
Those same sources also claim that Jessica ? for real this time ? wants to definitely get married after she gives birth. They say she?ll wait a few months and settle in with little Ace Johnson and then she and Eric will get hitched at long last. Maybe. Unless he knocks her up again.

Expecting a son later this summer, the blonde actress served as a bridesmaid for her pal Kathrys Sykora?s wedding party last weekend.
Soon, it will be the ?Dukes of Hazzard? cutie's turn to wed, as reports claim Jess will walk down the aisle with her hunky fiance after their second child is born.

Getting ready to jet out of the west coast, Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson caught a flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles on Friday (May 3).
With their adorable daughter Maxwell in tow, the happy couple made their way past the nearby shutterbugs while the "Fashion Star" mentor hid her growing baby bump behind an Hermes bag.
Although this is Jessica's second time around with pregnancy, it looks like the interesting cravings are still in full effect.
Last week, Simpson responded to her fellow pregnant pal Cacee Cobb's Twitter post which read, "Last night I dreamt I was licking a statue. Clearly I'm starving. #pregnantgirlproblems," while Jess jokingly wrote, "That just made me hungry! Hahaha."

Jessica Simpson had her baby shower this past weekend, and she invited People Magazine along because why not? I think she did that for her first baby shower too. And for both baby showers, Jessica pretty much threw them herself, and she organized them into family-friendly events with lots of food and activities for kids. I can?t believe I remember this, but Maxwell?s baby shower had an Alice In Wonderland theme, right? I believe it did. And for her son Ace Johnson, Jessica did a ?Tom Sawyer theme? which is kind of cute-ish, I guess. I?m not one of those hard-and-fast rules of etiquette people when it comes to throwing parties. I think it?s perfectly acceptable for Jessica ? who is extremely wealthy ? to throw baby shower parties for herself to celebrate her pregnancies. You can see some photos of the arrivals for her baby shower here ? Jessica Alba, Chelsea Handler (the hell?), Ken Paves (WHAT?) and Ashlee Simpson were all in attendance.
Since Jessica invited People Magazine, it was the perfect excuse to give People an exclusive interview about how her second pregnancy is going:
She may be a self-proclaimed girly-girl but at her Los Angeles baby shower Sunday, Jessica Simpson couldn?t help but gush over gifts she opened up for her baby boy.
?I?m so excited to have a son,? Simpson, 32, tells PEOPLE exclusively. ?He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can?t wait to try out!?
The Fashion Star mentor?s 11-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew got excited too. ?She was taking over some of her little brother?s gifts!? says Simpson.
The mom-to-be ? whose fianc Eric Johnson later joined the celebration hosted by Simpson?s mom Tina and attended by sister Ashlee ? celebrated her son?s impending arrival with a Tom Sawyer-themed bash created by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss.
The menu included treats for kids (a grilled cheese station!) and Southern comfort food.
?I always love some fried chicken,? says Simpson, who has been working out three times a week with trainer Harley Pasternak. ?This pregnancy I?m active. I?ve only gained half of what I gained in my first pregnancy.?
But she?s just as excited to meet her second child. ?I didn?t grow up with a brother and I think the unknown is really exciting,? she says. ?I can?t wait to have that connection with our little man.?

God, I love some fried chicken too. I had just-made fried chicken for dinner on Monday. And then I had cold fried chicken for dinner last night. Sigh? fried chicken is a weakness. I can pass by donuts, cakes and cookies, but I can?t pass by fried chicken (or French fries). As for Jessica?s statement of ?This pregnancy I?m active. I?ve only gained half of what I gained in my first pregnancy? ? I think that?s probably true. I think she went buckwild with slutty brownies for her first pregnancy and she genuinely thought the weight would just come off as soon as she had the baby. Now she?s learned that it doesn?t, so she?s taking better care of herself this time around. Lesson learned for Jess!
