Looking to expand her fame in the world of pop music, Heidi Montag released her debut album Superficial today (January 12).
The “Hills” babe has high hopes for her new project, which took her three years to finally complete. She told press, “I want to make the new 2010 version of a pop star. I want to become a galaxy star.”
And Ms. Montag says she’s letting it all hang out on Superficial in hopes of letting her fans get to know the real Heidi.
“That’s the world I live in and how people think I am but it’s really just the surface. People are just getting to know a whole new Heidi. I put my heart my heart into this music and it’ll really show.”

“This cover is a shout out to the ’80s,” Heidi Montag tells PEOPLE. “It makes you remember when you just had to run out to the record store and get your favorite album. You dreamt of those tapes.”Liz Ciganovich, the album’s production and art director, said she got the idea for an ’80s tribute after seeing Montag’s Overdosin’ video.“It reminded me of Olivia Newton John’s Let’s Get Physical in the ’80s,” said Ciganovich. “I thought, ‘Let’s do a shot that says ’80s ? lets pay homage to the mix tape!’ The hunt was on. I believe I purchased every mixed tape in Los Angeles!”

Oh, yes. It?s a good day. It?s a great day, because someone Photoshopped the hell out of Heidi Montag?s ?Superficial? album cover, and because they made her look worse. Oh, this is so rich. Look at her! I mean, she?s not what I would consider pretty or anything, but she doesn?t look that horrible. It?s like they put in some extra stuff to her eyes to make her look like the love child of Paris Hilton and a donkey. This makes my day, honestly.
Reality star, check. Author, check. Up next: pop star?
Following a performance at this summer’s Miss Universe pageant, Heidi Montag will take the leap into the recording world ? and she’s perfectly aware of what the business is about. (Hint: her debut album is titled SUPERFICIAL).
With the album due out Jan. 12, Montag is ready for whatever whirlwind comes her way.

Heidi and Spencer also have a new book out. It?s called How to be Famous, and I?m sure it?s full of wit and wisdom like ?be blonde? and ?be an a-hole? and ?look like a donkey?. Right? Anyway, back to the album. Heidi just released the ?Superficial? single, and it?s just as bad as you would expect. Actually? it didn?t make my ears bleed, so maybe it wasn?t as bad as you think. It sounds like really tragic, budget Britney Spears.

Basking in their publicity glory, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were spotted outside the “Jimmy Kimmel Show” in Hollywood, CA last night (November 19).
Assuming their usual positions, the married couple posed for pictures arm-in-arm while pretending to kiss as to not smudge Ms Montag’s freshly glossed lips.
As of late, “The Hills” stars have been busy promoting their new book, “How to Be Famous: Our Guide to Looking the Part, Playing the Press and Becoming a Tabloid Fixture.”
Of the book, Heidi and Spencer told press, “They always say, “Write what you know,” and we know how to be famous. Plus, we’re both extremely giving people.”

Returning from their promotional trip to New York City, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were spotted at LAX International Airport last night (November 17).
The “Hills” couple looked to be in good spirits, with Spencer even kidding around with a paparazzo by grabbing his video camera and filming the shutterbug.
And according to a report, Speidi are looking to branch out from their MTV gig into another reality show that “offers viewers a more detailed look into their everyday lives.”
As of late, the peroxide pair has been working overtime to draw attention to their new book “How to be Famous: Our Guide to Looking the Part, Playing.

Hot on the promotional trail, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt turned up at Borders Books & Music, Columbus Circle in New York City on Monday (November 16).
Following a previous stop at MTV studios, the “Hills” couple hit up the local bookstore to boost interest in their just-released book, “How To Be Famous”.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, the MTV co-star lovers were snubbed earlier on in the day by the “Today” show - having their scheduled morning appearance canceled at the last minute.
All day long, Spencer has been slamming weatherman Al Roker, saying things like, “WEATHERMAN I thought you were out of town today getting your stomache stapled again?” and “is it true you have been married 6 times? I’m sure all your wives left you when they realized you were abusive to women! Sicko!”
The feud between Al and Speidi began in June when the pair appeared on the talk show to promote their appearance on “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!”
Roker, 55, took the liberty to tell Pratt he was considered a “jerk,” while Montag claims Roker made her cry with his “rude” questioning.

Playing it up for the paparazzi, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were up to their usual self promotion at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Sunday (November 15).
Being dropped off to catch an outbound flight, the “Hills” co-star couple proudly showed off their new book “How to be Famous” as they kissed one another while passing through the security checkpoint.
With their new book due out on November 16th, Heidi and Spencer joked with Playboy of their 2010 plans, “We’re going to adopt an African baby, date Vince Vaughn, shave our heads, pretend Spencer is trapped in a balloon and have octuplets.”
The “Hills” lovers also chatted about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s well-plotted press power, as Heidi told, “Well, we wouldn’t want to piss them off. She might steal Spencer—you know, because she steals people’s husbands! But seriously, we’d love to sit down and discuss fame with them. Consider this your formal invitation, Brangelina. Let’s hang out sometime. We’ll be SpeidiLina!”

The MTV co-star couple are currently promoting their literary work, How to Be Famous, recently explaining of the decision, “They always say, ‘Write what you know,’ and we know how to be famous.”

Keeping things surprisingly low-key, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt enjoyed a casual, costume-free Halloween outing on Saturday (October 31).
The “Hills” co-star couple kicked things off with a relaxing lunch in Beverly Hills, with the twosome chatting away on an outdoor patio.
Feeling refreshed after their Halloween lunch, the MTV reality stars continued along - making their own little auto-biographical film on a handheld video camera.
Amidst their travels, Heidi and Spencer also fit in a bout of shopping - loading up with a few items before heading back to the homefront.
