With the annual Venice Film Festival in full swing, the cast of ?Contagion? hit the red carpet for their film's premiere at Palazzo de Cinema on Saturday night (September 3).
Joining in on the celebration were lovely actress Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as newly-bald actor Matt Damon (who was joined by wife Luciana Barroso), as well as fellow co-star Laurence Fishburne.
For the sci-fi thriller, Damon teamed back up with director Steven Soderbergh - who also directed him in the ?Ocean's Eleven? movies starting back in 2001.
?Steven sent me the script with a note that said, ?Read this and then go wash your hands,?? said Damon, with a laugh. ?After seeing this movie in a theater filled with strangers, I?m sure that thought will definitely cross peoples? minds.?
As for "Contagion," the picture - which hits theaters on September 9th - also stars Jude Law and Kate Winslet while being an "action-thriller centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak."

Taking care of media duties, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted at the Venice Film Festival photo call for her new movie ?Contagion? today (September 3).
Joined by costars Matt Damon and Laurance Fishburne, the "Country Strong" actress showed off her leggy form in a belted bright orange mini dress and sparkling peeptoe pumps.
During a recent interview with "Access Hollywood," Matt talked about what it was like to reunite with Gwyneth following their 1999 film, "The Talented Mr. Ripley."
"I was reminded of just how amazing she is, she's a really special actress. More so than anybody I've ever worked with, she's got an ability to turn it on and off. Like she can just be talking about anything and then when they say, 'Rolling,' it's like she snaps, she just locks in," Damon told.
He later added, ?I?ve worked with a lot of great actors and one thing that happens for me is that a great actor is so good that they pull me right in? that?s how I feel when I do a scene with her, I?m instantly brought in because she takes me there.?

Gwyneth Paltrow is staying in the Hamptons this summer but earning mixed reviews from sources. One witness at the Maidstone Club says Gwyneth is sweet to staffers. Another says she’s a flat-out bitch.
Case in point? After a friendly traveler gave Paltrow’s housekeeper a lift from a bus stop to her home, the actress reprimanded the driver.
“Gwyneth was mad that the maid showed strangers where she lived,” the insider tells Us. “Gwyneth said, ‘Please don’t give my maid a ride again!’”
Paltrow’s rep denies the report saying her housekeeper has a car and Gwyneth would never say something like that. But right after, the rep asked, “Wait, are you talking about the Mexican one or the El Salvadorian one? Oh, the El Salvadorian? Yea, she’s a total bitch.”

When I first saw the title of this article, I thought, Wow, Gwyneth Paltrow was angry at her maid for endangering herself by getting a ride to work with a stranger? You mean, she might actually care about someone else than herself? Oh no, it wasn’t anything like that.Lady GOOP looks out for herself, make no mistake about that. Says Digital Spy,
Gwyneth Paltrow has reportedly reprimanded her maid for receiving a ride to the star’s home from a stranger.
The Glee guest star was said to be angry that the housekeeper may have compromised her privacy by revealing the location of her Hamptons, New York property.
“Gwyneth was mad that the maid showed strangers where she lived. Gwyneth said, ‘Please don’t give my maid a ride again!’” a source told US Weekly.
However, a rep for Paltrow denies the report, saying in a statement: “Her housekeeper has a car and Gwyneth would never say something like that.”
Stupid, inconsiderate maid. If she wants to run the risk of being kidnapped, raped and murdered, she better do it on her own damn time, and not risk the sanctity of Queen Gwyneth’s super-secret location. Good help is so hard to get these days.

A few days ago, The Morton Report had a story about how Gwyneth Paltrow ?saved a life? on 9/11. CB, Bedhead and I all debated whether we should cover it, because it’s a confluence of touchy subjects - 9/11, Gwyneth, peasants. As we approach the ten-year anniversary of 9/11, I?m sure we?re already going to be bombarded with survival stories, which is fine. I?m already preparing myself to be a total sobbing mess for about two weeks straight, just as soon as all of the documentaries start (Sidenote: have you ever seen the one about 9/11 photography project? I was a mess. Or the one about a woman who took in an elderly homeless man after the attacks? I couldn?t stop crying.) Getting back to Gwyneth and this story? it?s not that I don?t believe this survivor?s story? it?s just that I?m not sure Gwyneth deserves the credit for ?saving a life??? You can read the woman?s story here, at The Morton Report. The highlights from the story:
Lara Lundstrom Clarke’s life was saved by a Sliding Doors chance encounter with Gwyneth Paltrow on September 11, 2001.
It was one of those pristine blue-sky New York mornings, and Lara Lundstrom, a 24-year-old account manager at Baseline Financial Services, decided to rollerblade on the Hudson before work. She knew if she was quick, she could get in some sweat time and make it to her job on the 77th floor of Tower 2 of the World Trade Center by 9:00 am.
After a quick shower she donned her work attire, an Ann Taylor Loft grey skirt and blouse, slipped on a pair of low kitten heels, grabbed her purse and ran out the door. Of course making it in time for her 1/9 train meant she had to jaywalk across 7th street to Christopher Street station. No problem, she?d made a habit of that.
?It was one of those mornings that felt good, you had a little skip in your step. What the heck - I always cut across 7th Avenue. Then all of the sudden a silver Mercedes SUV came barreling down towards me.
“I stopped and they screeched to a halt. Then it developed in to one of those classic who-goes-first situations. It got ridiculous. Then I made eye contact with the Mercedes driver. OMG it was Gwyneth Paltrow. I knew she lived down the street, so it made sense. She waved me across, I crossed and she continued on her way. At least if I was late for work I had a story to tell.?
She raced to the subway, hurtled down the stairs to the platform only to watch the doors of the 1/9 slam shut.
She had no idea she had just experienced her own real life Sliding Doors moment, the movie starring Paltrow about a chance romantic encounter that depended on whether or not she caught a subway train.
“At that time I was annoyed at everything that had made me late that day, including Gwyneth Paltrow,” Lara recalls.
[From The Morton Report]
The woman ends up being late, and when she got to her subway stop, the first plane had hit. Gwyneth?s publicist, Stephen Huvane, confirmed to media outlets that Gwyneth ?remembered the encounter between herself and Lara the morning of 9/11? and that Goop was “deeply moved” by Lara?s story. Does Gwyneth deserve credit? Sure, I guess. I don?t know. I would have liked the story more if Gwyneth had actually stopped someone on the street to call them a fat peasant, and THAT was why they were late for work. Possible vehicular manslaughter doesn?t feel like saving a life.
Can we move on to something more typically superficial and Goop-tastic? Us Weekly reports that Gwyneth bitched out some random person who had given her maid a ride to Goop?s house in the Hamptons. This is more like it:
Down-to-earth or downright rude? Gwyneth Paltrow is receiving mixed reviews from insiders in New York’s Hamptons this summer. Though one witness at the Maidstone Club tells the new issue of Us Weekly that the Oscar winner, 38, is “sweet to staffers,” another source says Paltrow is anything but.
Paltrow’s rep denies she got huffy over the help. “Her housekeeper has a car, and Gwyneth would never say something like that.”
[From Us Weekly]
Gwyneth ?would never say anything like that?? Who is Huvane kidding? We know our Goop. It was probably much worse than that. Gwyneth probably told the driver, ?I wanted her to walk to work because she?s so fat. Why didn?t you understand that? Now get your peasanty lorry out of my roundabout, as we say in my motherland, jolly old England!?

| Gwyneth Paltrow thinks plastic surgery, Botox are 'gimmicks' for peasants | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I don?t know if Gwyneth Paltrow really said any of this stuff - this whole interview comes from a New Zealand media outlet?s translation of an interview with Gwyneth in the German edition of OK! Magazine. So, if OK! Germany got an interview with Goop, and if the translation is right, and if this whole thing wasn?t made up entirely, then Gwyneth is made of goopy lies. According to this web of gossip, Gwyneth claims that she would never NEVER deign to do ?gimmicky? (re: ?peasanty?) forms of plastic surgery, and she ?refuses? to do Botox (haha, LIES). But! Gwyneth is pro-boob job. Amazing, if it?s true:
Gwyneth Paltrow believes cosmetic surgery is “pure vanity”. The Hollywood actress is famed for her stunning natural looks and slender frame and is regularly praised for her elegant style.
Paltrow insists she wouldn’t use any “gimmicky” forms of surgery, but wouldn’t rule out having her breasts enhanced. The 38-year-old beauty has kids Apple and Moses and says without surgery, her breasts will never be what they were before pregnancy.
“Before I didn’t care about it. And I still refuse to use silicone, Botox or other of those gimmicks out of pure vanity. But a breast correction after breast feeding ? why not? There’s actually nothing else to restore the original condition, isn’t there?” she laughed in an interview with the German edition of OK! magazine.
Paltrow is known for her intensive exercise regimes, including yoga. Although there aren’t always enough hours in the day to complete her thorough workout, she tries to fit in at least a few minutes a day.
“I don’t have time to do real yoga sessions that last over 60 minutes,” she said. “But I meditate each day for at least five minutes.”
Paltrow claimed her intensive yoga session “ruined” her body for a period of time. The exercise diminished her curves, and her physique looked “boxy”.
“Yes that was strange. I somehow lost my waist because of intense yoga training and became almost boxy,” she explained. “But with stretching and Pilates exercises I hit form again.”
[From Cleo]
I like how she makes it seem like she hasn?t already jacked her face (remember this?), and like she hasn?t already gotten her boobs ?perked up? with some kind of procedure (remember this?). To be fair, I don?t think Gwyneth has gotten a facelift, and she hasn?t gotten her eyes done or anything. But the goopy bitch is hitting the ?Tox on the regular, and I personally believe that she?s already gotten her boobs done. How gimmicky. How gauche. How peasanty. How GOOP.

Getting in some quality time with the family, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted in New York City yesterday afternoon (August 11).
The ?Sliding Doors? dame arrived in the Big Apple via helicopter with her husband Chris Martin and kids Moses and Apple. Gwyn and Chris were in town to attend a $40,000/plate fundraiser for Barack Obama at Harvey Weinstein?s house.
In a recent interview, Ms. Paltrow confessed that she cannot live without "my Antonio Lupi Baia Tub.?
She explained, "It's in the middle of my bedroom - perfect for a relaxing wind-down and for bathing the kids.?

Nobody likes Gwyneth Paltrow, and no matter how hard she tries to sound cool and down-to-earth, she always comes off like a pretentious cunt. Case in point — her interview in next month’s Elle Magazine:
On getting support from Beyonc on her surprise duet with Cee Lo Green at the Grammys: ?This story always makes me cry? It?s 10 in the morning and Beyonc schleps it all the way down to the Staples Center to watch. I mean, She?s Beyonc!?
On the advice Beyonc gave her before her performance: ?Beyonc?s like, ?Okay. The singing is great. But you?re not having any fun.? She?s like, ?Remember when we?re at Jay?s concert and Panjabi MC comes on and you do your crazy Indian dance? Do that. Be you!??
On creating a solo album: ?Beyonc and Jay ? they think that I should just go do it by myself. That I should go? in a studio and see what happens. And if it?s good, do it. And if it?s not, don?t. So that?s probably what I?ll do.?
I have never seen such a blatant case of flagrant name-dropping in all my life. Jesus Christ. We get it, Gwyneth! You’re friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z. BFD. I have black friends, too. Well… I know some black people. Know of them, anyway. I generally avoid them unless it’s sunny or I have less than twenty bucks on me. Now what were we talking about again? Oh, right:
On showing the world a different side of herself: ?If you speak to my friends who?ve known me since I was four, they?ll say, ?That is her.? They always said to me, ?You?re the dirtiest person in the world and so funny. Show the world that side of you.? I felt guarded. I felt like if I really showed people more of me and I was still not accepted, then? Who cares. You just realize it doesn?t matter what people think of you.?
On deciding to launch GOOP: ?When you go to Paris and your concierge sends you to some restaurant because they get a kickback, it?s like, No. Where should I really be? Where is the great bar with organic wine? Where do I get a bikini wax in Paris? People know that I know that??
On going public with her personal care regimens: ?It?s so much easier to sit home and not exercise and criticize other people. What I love is inspiring people. People come up to me and say, ?I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work and it makes me feel like I can do that too.??
It may surprise you, Gwyneth, but most of Middle America isn’t going to Europe to get their snatch waxed. And most of Middle America is too worried about how they’re gonna raise their kids after losing their jobs to worry about how those kids ruined their swimsuit figure. It’s called “reality.” More people would like you if you spent any time in it.

| Gwyneth Paltrow covers Elle: 'You can never be relaxed or smug' about marriage | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwyneth Paltrow is the September cover girl for Elle Magazine, because she?s promoting?Contagion? But doesn?t she die really quickly in that movie? They put her stroke face and her death front and center in the trailer, so surely a quickie death part in a budget Soderbergh film about the bird flu doesn?t warrant the cover of Elle? But it?s Dame Gwyneth, so the would have put her on the cover if she just wanted to talk about her farts. Guess what she does talk about, though? BEYONCE!! Because Goop and Bey are TIGHT. Because Goop is totally over Madonna. Because Bey is cooler, smarter, hipper and younger than Madge. Because Gwyneth thinks she can be cool by association! Also: Goop talks about Chris Martin and her marriage? which she?s been doing a lot lately. Interesting?
On getting support from Beyonc on her surprise duet with Cee-Lo Green at the Grammys: “This story always makes me cry? It’s 10 in the morning and Beyonce schleps it all the way down to the Staples Center to watch. I mean, she’s Beyonce!”
On the advice Beyonc gave her before her performance: “Beyonce’s like, ‘OK. The singing is great. But you’re not having any fun.’ She’s like, ‘Remember when we’re at Jay’s concert and Panjabi MC comes on and you do your crazy Indian dance? Do that. Be you!’”
On going public with her personal care regimens: “It’s so much easier to sit home and not exercise and criticize other people. What I love is inspiring people. People come up to me and say, ‘I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work and it makes me feel like I can do that too.’”
On her decision to take on other roles like ‘Glee’ to be able to focus more on family: “I can do short jobs. If I was still starring in three movies every year, there’s no way that I’d be the person my kids want when they fall down.”
On the false rumors of a split: “Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time. We go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I always say, life is long and you never know what’s going to happen. If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children. Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, ‘I’ve got this thing.’ That’s also part of it: keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted.”
On creating a solo album: “Beyonce and Jay — they think that I should just go do it by myself. That I should go ? in a studio and see what happens. And if it’s good, do it. And if it’s not, don’t. So that’s probably what I’ll do.”
On keeping her marriage to Chris Martin out of the spotlight: “He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music. I get it.”
On her much-talked about appearance on ‘Chelsea Lately’: “Doing Chelsea Handler is like doing Howard Stern: You’ve gotta rise to the occasion. It’s good to shock people who think of me as the prim Gwyneth Paltrow.”
[From Elle via Wonderwall]
So many goodies in here, right? First, for the Jane Austin fans out there - what Austin supporting character does Gwyneth remind you of? Mr. Elton?s wife from Emma, right? Mrs. Elton was the queen of saying stuff like, ?People say I have an eye for fine art? or ?My dear friend and fishmonger thinks that I should record an album, he?s always telling me how beautiful my voice is.? Because if you cite another person?s compliment, you?re not really bragging or being a narcissistic monster, right?
As for her comments on Chris - ?We go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I’m not going to take this for granted? — while I usually enjoy hating on Goop, this made me really sad. I just feel like she clinging to a bad marriage because she just doesn?t think it?s acceptable for her to get a divorce (because it?s so peasanty). I can feel her telling herself that it?s going to get better, that he?ll come around. I also think Gwyneth is pulling a Jennifer Lopez, sort of. If and when Goop and Chris split, the ?If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children. Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad? quote will be brought up over and over again.
