Less than a year after they wed in secret, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds might already be headed for splitsville. According to Fox News
[The couple has been overheard arguing frequently]… the most heated occurred last week, as they were about to depart for San Diego?s Comic Con sci-fi convention [where Scarlett was to] discuss her new role as Black Widow in ?Iron Man 2? and Ryan [his lead role] in [Warner Brothers] ?Green Lantern.” An insider [says] ?they got in a huge fight just before they were going to Comic Con. It caused such a rift between them that Ryan refused to attend the conference and he told Scarlett she could go alone. She got so angry she threatened to take off her wedding band.?
The conference continued as normal, with a notably absent Ryan missing from the Warner Brothers panel. The company had planned on debuting major plans for the new superhero movie, and now [the] insider says Ryan has ?angered the executives.?
I don’t know what to think here. Are they suggesting that living on different coasts for nine months of the year and pretending to be in love with someone else 17 hours a day for those nine months of year isn’t good for a fledgling marriage? Well, you know what they say — love is patient, love is kind, love does not steal your fucking thunder at a press junket. Amen.

Scarlett Johansson worked her ass off ? literally, depending on your opinion ? for her role as the Black Widow in ?Iron Man 2.? I?ve complained in a few articles that she lost all of her beautiful curves, which to me are a big part of what sets her apart from most other actresses. But Scarlett quickly pointed out to the media that she lost weight and toned up for her role, not due to chronic Hollywood pressure. According to Jon Favreau, the film?s director, Scarlett did it with a low carb diet.
Even enviable-looking Scarlett Johansson couldn’t disguise her fear at having to don a skintight catsuit for her Iron Man 2 role as the Russian spy Black Widow.
“I kicked some major butt,” the actress, 24, told PEOPLE at Comic-Con of her training regimen to make her a shapely superhero ready for acrobatic battle scenes. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit.”
Was she happy with the results? “Finally I was, yes,” she said with a laugh. “You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it.”
When it came to putting on the catsuit, “It was crazy to see it for the first time ? everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look. It was pretty sweet, I have to say,” she says.
As for the impression it made, “Certainly walking on set, because a lot of the people that worked on the film were fans of the comic and of course they knew the Black Widow ? they were all super excited to see the Black Widow,” she says. “When everybody in the crew were like, ‘That looks awesome!’ I knew. Like, ‘Okay.’ ”
“She was wearing an unforgiving costume,” concurred Johansson’s Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who was impressed by his star’s physical commitment to the role. “She didn’t eat much, that’s for sure. She likes food, as do I, and she was definitely on a low-carb diet and training very hard. It was amazing.”
After viewing Johansson’s stunt work, Favreau says, “I think people are going to be very impressed when they see her. It’s totally different than anything you’ve seen her do before.”

Before people go off on Scarlett about a low carb diet, keep in mind Jon didn?t say she was doing the Atkins diet. They?re not the same thing. There are all sorts of low carb and modified carb diets that are not bacon and butter based. I?m a big fan. Well, not a big fan of doing them, but I?m a big fan of the results. I can?t deny the Scarlett looks great; I just loved how she looked before. I can?t think of many actresses who could rock curves the way she could. I can?t help but hope she relaxes a bit and goes back to her natural shape. She?s gorgeous either way, but I?m a fan of the more realistic look.

Most of the cast of Iron Man 2 was in attendance at Comic-Con over the past few days. Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson both showed up, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Mickey Rourke were noticeably absent. Mickey?s been living it up in London, where he?s filming a movie and picking fights with random fences, but what was so important that Dame Paltrow couldn?t show up? Was shede-boning another chicken, and couldn?t make a flight? Or is she still pouting about all of the publicity surrounding Scarlett Johansson?
As if on cue, Scarlett was asked about the rumors of tension between her and Gwyneth, and according to Radar, ScarJo ?indicated there was no truth to a rumored feud between she and glamorous Gwyneth Paltrow.? She indicated? I?ve looked around for a quote, and I can?t find one. My guess is that ScarJo was asked and she shrugged her shoulders or laughed or something like that. Of course, my guess is also that Goopy really is pissed off, and that?s the reason she didn?t attend Comic-Con:

The star laughingly cleared up rumors about on-set feuds and competitiveness at home during an Iron Man 2 panel at this weekend’s Comic-Con.
In regards to husband Ryan Reynolds, who will play The Green Lantern for DC Comics’ big screen adaptation, ScarJo was asked if it was uncomfortable in the home as she’s now super hero muscle for Marvel Comics.
“We’re living in two completely different universes,” she says, noting the conflicting publishers instantly diffuse tension, “never the two shall meet, I would say.”
Outlets, bloggers and fans of the Robert Downey Jr.-starring hit also Tweeted that, during a panel discussion with its stars, Johannson indicated there was no truth to a rumored feud between she and glamorous Gwyneth Paltrow.

As if on cue, the studio released some more stills from the film. ScarJo actually did a ton of press at ComicCon, and there are a bunch of new interviews with her. I didn?t find anything particularly interesting, but let?s see. ScarJo told AHN that Black Widow is ?kicking some major a*s - so I would say ‘major’ is the amount of a*s I kick. Whose a*s do I kick? Well, you’re just going to have to wait and see. You don’t really want to know, do you?” ScarJo then toned down the language for People, talking about all the ?butt? she was kicking, and get into specifics of her training. The director calls her Black Widow catsuit ?unforgiving? and ScarJo says, ?Certainly walking on set, because a lot of the people that worked on the film were fans of the comic and of course they knew the Black Widow ? they were all super excited to see the Black Widow? When everybody in the crew were like, ‘That looks awesome!’ I knew. Like, ‘Okay.’ ” Meanwhile, Goopy pouted in a corner, upset that none of the crew guys looked at her twice. Bringing plenty of eye candy to the 2009 Comic-Con International Convention, Scarlett Johansson was spotted making an appearance at the San Diego Convention Center over the weekend.
The “He’s Just Not That Into You” actress looked super hot as she answered questions as part of a discussion panel, sporting a sleeveless white dress with a broad black belt and her trademark crimson coif.
When asked how she got into such killer shape for her role of the Russian spy Black Widow for “Iron Man 2,” Scarlett explained, “I kicked some major butt. It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit.”
And when it was time to shoot, Ms. Johansson says she was confident in her form-fitting attire. “Finally I was, yes. You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it.”

They’re both well-loved in the Hollywood scene, and last night (July 23) Scarlett Johansson and Courteney Cox were spotted bonding at the opening night of the LA Shorts Fest ’09.
The “In Good Company” hottie and the former “Friends” veteran were more than happy to strike a few poses for the paparazzi while they chatted in the arrivals area.
And once again, Scarlett was displaying a new hue of hair- she elected to go back to her much-famed crimson coif following a brief bleached blonde look.
Both ladies were in the house for the premiere of the short film “These Vagabond Shoes.” Per the event website the film is described as- “The tranquility of solitude breaks through the cacophony of the city as a man makes his way across Manhattan to the sea at Coney Island - witnessing the majesty, magic and wonder of the city and its inhabitants, as they pass him by.”

Will said erection attempt to rip through his suit causing him excruciating pain? Is that his true weakness? But more importantly, does Scarlett get naked? Internet fanboys want to know.

Last week?s Entertainment Weekly cover story was a preview of the Iron Man sequel, named (guess what?) Iron Man 2. It?s not due out until May of 2010, so I guess they just wanted to get us really, really excited, and we?re supposed to maintain that excitement over the course of the next 10 months. Anyway, the scandal for the EW cover was this - it features Robert Downey Jr. (as Iron Man, of course), Mickey Rourke (as Whiplash) and Scarlett Johansson (as the Black Widow). Hmm? isn?t there someone missing? Someone who was in the first Iron Man, and made such a big deal about it? I know we?re forgetting someone. Oh, right! Gwyneth ?GOOP? Paltrow, of course! While filming in Los Angeles, there were already rumors that Goopy didn?t appreciate all of the attention ScarJo got in her leather Black Widow costume. But now it looks like ScarJo is taking center stage for the film?s advanced promotion too! Doesn?t ScarJo know that the center stage is reserved for Goops?
The behind-the-scenes action on Iron Man 2 is almost as exciting as the movie itself.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who returns as Iron Man?s PA Pepper Potts, is furious that new co-star Scarlett Johansson is stealing her limelight.
Scarlett, who plays a Russian spy, appears in a promotional campaign alongside the film?s other stars, Robert Downey Jr and Mickey Rourke.
But there is no sign of Gwyneth.
A source said: ?Gwyneth was afraid she?d be upstaged by Scarlett and not being in the campaign was the final straw. She is furious she?s been left out.?
Gwyneth, 36, now plans to boycott a promotion in San Diego later this month.
?She?s heading to New York instead, she?s so angry,? added the source.
A spokesman for Gwyneth said: ?She was not at all upset. The fans will get to see more of Pepper Potts as we get closer to the film?s release next May?.

I really believe that Goopy is probably somewhere between peeved and pissed that she was left off the EW cover. It just seems like Gwyneth, doesn’t it? She’s the one returning to the franchise, while ScarJo is a newcomer. And do you know what else is pissing off Goop? That ScarJo is younger, bustier, sexier, and probably easier to work with in general. Could be?but to be fair to Goop, I think part of this is the media?s desire to have a catfight. Gwyneth admits as much (in relation to the characters) while being interviewed for the EW piece:
When Marvel Studios first announced the sequel, no one was sure what the movie would be about. Downey, director Jon Favreau, screenwriter Justin Theroux, and the rest of the creative team struck upon the idea of introducing two very different foes for Stark.
On one side is Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), a fast-talking weapons manufacturer who fancies himself the next Tony Stark; on the other, Vanko, who, while incarcerated in a Russian prison, creates his own battle-suit, which shoots devastating, whip-like beams. Hammer and Whiplash join forces to take down Downey?s character, Tony Stark.
Rourke, for his part, wanted to instill some lightness into the role of the heavy. “I told Favreau, ‘I don’t want to just play him as a one-dimensional p—-,’” he says. “He let me have a cockatoo, who I talk to and get drunk with while I?m making my suit.”
Just as the deals were being hammered out, Terrence Howard — who had played Stark?s best friend — fell out of the sequel in a public salary dispute. The role was re-cast, with Don Cheadle stepping in. “We had to make some tough deals,” says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “When they got public, you go, ‘That sucks. Okay, you want a peek behind the curtain? Here you are!’”
Says Cheadle, “Terrence and I couldn?t be more different. We address it head-on in the movie in one exchange. We’re not trying to fool people.” (Cheadle admits he didn?t know much about Marvel?s superhero before the first movie came out: “I always thought Iron Man was a robot.”)

Downey agrees. He believes what differentiates the franchise from other superhero series can be summarized as follows: “We’re horny. Not, like, can’t-bring-your-kids horny, but just?horny.”

Damn, now I wish they had put Sam Rockwell on the cover. I love that guy, he?s so sexy. You know who else is in the sequel? Samuel ?Motherf-ckin? Plane? Jackson! And with Don Cheadle replacing Baby Wipes Howard, this cast is pretty cool! Anyway, here?s the question, men and women. Gwyneth or ScarJo? It can be for anything, who would you rather work with, or sleep with, or be friends with? I know my answer. And my answer is Goop-less.

Then again, I’d be shouting the same thing for the movie too. Now that I think about it, I guess that was a good enough reason to ban me from AMC when I did that during My Sister’s Keeper.
