When a Marine made a YouTube video inviting Mila Kunis to be his date at the Marine Corps Ball, many of us found it charming. Mila was told about the request, and she agreed to go, although for a while it looked like she was trying to get out of it (but she wasn?t). Many of you took Mila?s side and claimed that she was publicly bullied into accepting the invitation. I disagreed. There was totally a way for her to say no without looking bad, but that?s not even the point - the point is why would you say no if you?re a young, single starlet looking for good publicity?
Well, Scarlett Johansson doesn?t give a crap about any of that. When she was asked to the Marine Corps Ball, she had prior commitment and she didn?t feel bullied into trying to work her schedule around. Here?s the invite:
He?s kind of cute, right? Right. Well, ScarJo isn?t going. Some may say ?ScarJo hates the troops.? She may, but I doubt it. I think she just didn?t feel like rearranging her schedule, or maybe she didn?t realize that if she went, she could make Sean Penn jealous! She did find the time to release a statement about it, though:

Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for film making. Sgt. She sent him a case of the champagne that she represents! She didn?t even have to pay for the champagne she sent him. Oh, well. Zap2It spoke to the Marine and asked him what he would do if ScarJo refused. He replied: ?If I was told she could not attend, I would understand. I would not believe the invitation would be denied without good cause. With her current career I would imagine Scarlett Johansson is a busy woman.” So, he?s nice about it at least. Damn. Now I kind of want to go in ScarJo?s place.

Good news everyone. It seems since Scarlett Johansson split from her rebound Sean Penn, she’ll hook-up with just about anyone. As long as you’re semi-famous, I mean. Her latest rumored romance is with Hangover star Justin Bartha. The two were said to be “completely engrossed in each other” during a cast dinner of off-Broadway’s All New People. I don’t know what that means but it sounds fascinating.
One witness told us, “There were about 15 people at the table, but Scarlett and Justin sat next to each other and talked all night.
“They seemed pretty fascinated with each other and only talked to each other,” the source said. “It looked sometimes flirty, but also they seemed to be involved in a deep discussion.”
While some sources insist 26-year-old “Lost in Translation” star Johansson and Bartha, who turns 33 today, are just good friends — exactly what they previously said about ScarJo and Penn — she and Bartha were also reportedly seen “flirting up a storm” at Karaoke Boho here on Saturday. [Page Six]
The last time I flirted up a storm was in 1950 which is about the same time they retired that phrase. Seriously. Who writes this stuff? It’s like I’m trapped on a plantation with a bunch of gossipy 40-somethings and there’s no way out.

The pair were with two other friends, but another witness told us, “I definitely got the vibe that Ryan had eyes for the brunette. All four hung out the entire time together, but there was definitely chemistry between the two them. Lots of laughing and all smiles.”
Reps for Johansson and Bartha didn’t get back to us. Reynolds’ rep had no comment.

I was going to declare this a downgrade, but I worried that I might offend the people who like Bartha. Bartha really doesn?t seem like a bad guy at all - from what I?ve seen, he?s a sweet guy, a little dorky, but charming and nice. He and Ashley kept their relationship very quiet, but there were no scandals around them and it?s not like he was screwing around or anything. BUT? he?s not exactly the kind of high-caliber, super-famous, A-list star that Scarlett tends to go for, right? In celebrity-land, she?s dating down. And it just feels like she?s flailing, once again.

Gearing up for another day on the job, Scarlett Johansson was spotted arriving on the set of ?The Avengers? in Santa Fe, New Mexico today (June 9).
The ?In Good Company? chick looked a bit frumpy as she carried a beverage in one hand, sporting spectacles, a grey hoodie, sweatpants, and sandals.
And though she and Sean Penn called it quits on their romance, an insider says that Scarlett still has love for the legendary actor.
?If you remember after Scarlett confirmed her split from husband Ryan the two continued to see each other and have dinner together. She is incredible. Just because you are no longer with someone doesn't mean you stop caring about them and never want to see them again. She still cares a great deal about Sean and couldn't imagine seeing him at an event or award show and not saying hello. Only children act like that.?

Just because Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson are broken up doesn’t mean they can’t be civil toward each other. Which they were last night at Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards in LA. Scarlett and Seann even took a picture together backstage but left separate.
By the way, if you’re confused as to what the hell a Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards show is, this was the other awards show. The one way more celebrities went to because they knew Twilight wouldn’t dominate every major category.

A lot of eyebrows were raised when Scarlett Johansson hit the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards red carpet last night with Sean Penn, because they supposedly broke up last week. So the big question on everybody’s mind today: “Why the hell can’t we see her boobs?” It’s a freakin’ Guys Choice awards show, for chrissakes! Would it kill her to show a little cleavage? Oh, and maybe something about them dating again.

Here are some new photos of Scarlett Johansson, fresh from her split with Sean Penn. Honestly, though, I?m kind of thinking that the split happened before the Cannes Film Festival, which means that Scarlett has been single for nearly a month. Which means she probably already has another dude lined up, in my opinion. Anyway, these photos are from last night?s Guys Choice Awards, which? won?t air for a while, I think. You might remember that Jennifer Aniston was chosen as ?The Decade of Hotness? Award (and she looked super drunk at the event too). Scarlett chose red hair for the event (because she?s currently working on The Avengers), and this totally dated-looking Valentino. You know what this dress reminds me of? Julia Roberts? ?fancy dress? in the classic film Mystic Pizza. Beyond the dress, I kind of think Scar looks like total crap. She?s obviously been training hard for The Avengers, and she?s lost a lot of weight really fast, and it?s made her look kind of drawn and tired. The red hair doesn?t help either - it doesn?t really suit her, in my opinion.
And as it turns out, Sean Penn was also at last night?s Guys Choice Awards, but most people claim that ScarJo and Sean carefully avoided each other:
Newly single stars Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson avoided a face-to-face reunion on Saturday (04Jun11) as the former lovers both attended the Spike Guys’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
The actors were said to have enjoyed a brief romance before news of the break-up emerged earlier this week (03Jun11).
But there was no awkward meet-up at the glitzy California bash - Johansson walked the red carpet, while Penn arrived late to accept an award from Robert De Niro as his 1982 movie Fast Times At Ridgemont High was inducted into the Guy Movie Hall of Fame.
Johansson opted not to talk about her love life to reporters and instead turned the focus onto her latest movie project.
The actress looked sensational in a black and white Valentino gown as she arrived at the Sony Studios in Culver City alongside Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.
Scarlett was keen to impart an insight from the set of The Avengers, a canny move considering the moribund status of her movie career versus her fervid love life of late.
She told Just Jared: ‘I just flew in from New Mexico, where I?ve been shooting The Avengers. A bunch of the cast is here tonight but I?m here to support the troops. Chris Evans and I are presenting.’
‘We?re right in the middle of scenes and figuring a lot of stuff out. I?ve been training a lot and doing all sorts of exercises.’

So far there hasn?t been much speculation about Scar and Sean?s breakup, I guess because no one really thought they would last anyway. I would love to know what exactly went down, especially considering that Scarlett had moved in with Sean so quickly. E! news had one of the few post-split analysis pieces - you can read it here. They basically say that Sean?s family (including his mom) urged him to drop Scarlett as their relationship became more and more tabloid. They also say Sean probably still has feelings for Robin Wright, and Robin and her boyfriend just split up too, perhaps meaning that Robin and Sean might try to reconcile again.
By the way, Justin Timberlake was at the Guys Choice show. You know he and Scarlett had a thing way back, and I kind of think he?d like to try it again.

Last we saw the leathery-faced malcontent, he was in a glass elevator with two “super hot” women at Cannes. It stands to reason, Sean Penn isn’t too broken up about it. But if Scarlett needs a shoulder to cry on, I’ll be here. Waiting. Naked.

In what will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn’s little two-month fling is over. According to People Magazine:
Speculation about the pair began after Johansson did not attend the Cannes Film Festival with Penn for his movie The Tree of Life. She has been working on The Avengers in New Mexico, reprising her role of Black Widow from Iron Man 2.
The pair attended a White House Correspondents’ Dinner party in Washington D.C. in April and had been spotted in a series of cozy outings in L.A. [last month].
The reason for the split wasn’t immediately known.
I have a hunch — and this is just speculation here — that perhaps they broke up because he’s Sean fucking Penn. Research suggests that perpetually angry, self-righteous, condescending know-it-alls have a difficult time maintaining relationships. Research also suggests that Sean Penn is fucking tool. I couldn’t find him more repellant if he had a writhing mass of maggots for a face and left a trail of turds wherever he goes.

Even though I think quite a bit of Scarlett?s game - she really does have an admirable way of handling men and relationships - I?ll admit that I thought Scarlett was playing this relationship a bit too ?needy?. I think she was really into Sean, and I think he probably dicked her around (in more ways than one) and she got tired of it. Hopefully that?s the way it played out.
