Amanda Bynes has been accused of slamming into a car on the 101 in San Fernando Valley on April 10 and then fleeing the scene. This makes it Amanda’s third hit-and-run.
The culprit was driving a 5 series BMW at the time of the accident. The victim gave chase, got off the freeway, but the culprit blew a red light, never to be seen again. The victim was able to write down the license plate number. She only got a profile view of the woman driving the BMW.
CHP showed up, ran the plate and determined it was a rental vehicle. Officers told the victim the culprit was driving an Enterprise rental car. The victim then contacted Enterprise, who told her the person who had rented the car was Amanda Bynes.
The victim then showed up at a CHP substation and ID’d Amanda from a photo lineup. And get this … the photo of Amanda was taken just 4 days earlier — it was her mug shot from a DUI arrest. Amanda was driving in West Hollywood on April 6 when she clipped a cop car and was immediately popped for DUI.TMZ
For her part, Amanda Bynes tweeted a denial. “I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false.”Oh, hey everybody. That wasn’t Amanda Bynes who wasarrested for DUIback in April.
At least there’s a bright side to all this. One more DUI and she’ll have the celebrity equivalent of a triple double. Which I guess should actually be called a triple and a double.

I just looked up Amanda Bynes’ age, and I’m honestly surprised that she’s 26. The way she’s been acting, I assumed that she was around 22. Kaiser usually covers Amanda and up until now I sort-of ignored her and was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt since I assumed she was young enough to learn from her mistakes. Let’s revisit them… A DUI in early April (during which she hit a cop car), texting and driving (with the paparazzi there) just a week later, and a hit and run earlier this month. Amanda claimed that she had no idea she hit that other car, and she was released without charges.
It turns out that Amanda committed another hit and run in early April, just four days after her DUI, and we’re just finding out about it now. She also ran a stop light after she hit that other car. So either she was doubly careless (very possible) or was so anxious to flee the scene that she deliberately ran a red light. You know it’s been a whole three weeks since she’s been involved in a car accident, and it seems like she’s due for another one. Here’s more:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the case was referred to a filing officer at the L.A. City Attorney’s Office who immediately rejected it because there was no independent witness fingering Amanda as the phantom driver.

So the verdict of this story is that this girl who is old enough to know way, way better had a second hit and run and that NOTHING is going to happen to her for this incident either. Considering that there are no charges for either hit and run, it’s entirely possible that the judge in her DUI case won’t even know that she had two other hit and runs within a month of her DUI. (Some of our legal experts can hopefully clarify this for me, but I don’t think that either incident can be brought up in court since there were no citations issued, right?)
Getting back to the issue of whether she’s able to stop drinking, driving, texting, and sideswiping – I guess anyone is able to change their ways. Nicole Richie’s last DUI was in 2006, and she was 25 at the time. Khloe Kardashian got a DUI when she was 23 and she learned from it. Amanda has obviously gone on a huge bender, though, and I doubt she’s called a cab once. If a DUI, two freaking hit and run incidents, and photos of yourself driving over a curb while texting on your phone aren’t a wakeup call, what will be? This is her first DUI and from what I can find she probably won’t even get her license suspended. Another Lohan in the making, as offensive as that is to her to hear.

Amanda Bynes continued her downward spiral last Friday by hitting a car and driving off obliviously. Luckily for her, it wasn’t a cop car this time.
Police say a man was driving near the intersectionofCrescent Heights and Melrose Blvd when he was sideswiped by a Range Rover trying to pass him on the right. When the SUV kept going, he followed it in traffic. Cops responded and even sent out a helicopter to track the Range Rover.
Cops finally found the SUV and discovered the driver was Amanda Bynes who had no idea she hit another car. Sources say the damage to her vehicle was so minimal that she probably didn’t feel the accident at all.
Information was eventually exchanged, no citation was given and police won’t investigate further. Though, for her sake, they should do something. Like,take her by the shoulders, shake her really hard and yell, “What are you thinking?!”
After hitting a cop car, driving drunk, backing over a curband now this, at the very least, they should have thrown her car keys into the La Brea Tar Pits.

Amanda Bynes is a mess. Less than two weeks ago, she was arrested for a DUI after clipping a police car. Since then, People Magazine has been fed some exclusives from Camp Bynes, like her father claiming that she ?doesn?t drink,? plus the pity-poor-Amanda piece about how ?lost? she is without a career. Despite the efforts of her family and (presumably) her PR team, Amanda has continued to party and act erratically. It?s said that she tried to go back to The Standard just hours after arrest. And then there were the photos from last Thursday night – Amanda leaving the Marmont, texting and driving and running over a curb. The message: Amanda doesn?t want help. She?s spiraling.
Hollywood?s new bad girl Amanda Bynes is refusing advice from her friends and managers to go to rehab ? and continued partying on Thursday night. The former Nickelodeon actress was arrested last week and spent a night in jail after she reportedly careered into a cop car in West Hollywood. She was booked on DUI charges.
Despite being advised to remain low-key, Bynes, 26, went out clubbing for yet another night Thursday, following her run-in with the law. Our spies spotted her at the Chateau Marmont with pals before heading to West Hollywood club Greystone Manor.
A witness at the club said, ?Amanda came in around midnight with one male friend. Paparazzi were all over her. She left exactly 15 minutes later and drove away in her black convertible.? She was also reportedly seen texting while driving and backing her car over a curb and onto a sidewalk after leaving Chateau Marmont.
Another source said, ?Amanda?s friends are growing increasingly concerned about her and want her to go to rehab. She has been advised to stay home, but she refused.?
Another source added, ?She is not the same girl as she was a year ago. She is just doing whatever she wants to do. Friends are concerned because she is not the Amanda they know.?
We reported that Bynes went straight from the pokey to the Polo Lounge following her arrest. After she made bail, she was seen at the Beverly Hills Hotel power spot meeting with top criminal defense attorney Richard Hutton.
And we?re told Bynes had been asking for tickets to head to Palm Springs to party at Coachella this weekend, which is featuring performances by the Black Keys, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Her dad, Rick Bynes, last week said that his daughter doesn?t drink, and she was just at the police station for help because ?she was upset and very emotional.? The actress? rep declined to comment.

Part of me wonders if this is some sort of angle by Amanda – maybe she wants to be relevant, maybe she wants attention, and she decided to go the Lohan route. Another option could be that she is just a really damaged girl who has issues. I don?t know – but she seems more Lohan than ?innocent victim?. There?s a callousness to her refusal to stop partying, to continue to drive while (possibly) under the influence. It seems like she simply doesn?t give a crap. So? I hope she gets the book thrown at her for this DUI charge. Maybe the state of California will force her to get sober. Hahaha, that was a joke. California won?t do anything. Last night, Amanda Bynes went back to Greystone Manor. The same place she drove off wasted from back in March. Yesterday, Amanda hit up Chateau Marmont and Greystone and while texting behind the wheel, backed her BMW over a curb.
Either this is a cry for help and she wants to get caught or she’s literally retarded. Maybe it’s some form of Asperger syndrome.

These are some new photos of Amanda Bynes being an idiot last night. She was photographed leaving the Marmont, then driving to a second location to (likely) drink some more. These photos are from her Marmont exit – she hides her face as she?s walking, and then when she got into her car, she started texting and driving, and promptly ran over the curb. So, we don?t know if she had actually consumed alcohol (but I think we can assume so, considering she was at the Marmont, for God?s sake), AND she was texting and driving. She?s a g–damn genius, this one.
These photos come just one week after Amanda was arrested and held for hours for a DUI after she clipped a patrol car while drinking and driving last Thursday. They say Amanda is going to ?fight? the charges. They say she?s already hired a big-time lawyer. They say she?s sober? sober as a Lohan. We?ll see.
Speaking of Lohan – who at this point has become the model for all 20-something screwups – remember how she was accused of assaulting a woman at The Standard last Thursday? The woman filed a police report at the time, and Lindsay claimed she was nowhere near The Standard that night, because she was at home, watching Homeland in her crack den. Well, Radar has a story – which you can read here – about an ?eyewitness? to the assault who also claims that LL ?shoved? this woman. It could be a thing, but it?s probably not. Anyway, I brought this up because someone awesome tweeted me an amazing alternate theory. What if Lindsay hasn?t actually been falsely accused by someone who mistook Amanda Bynes for the Cracken? That theory actually holds up – while there?s no proof that LL was at The Standard last Thursday, Amanda Bynes was definitely there. Could this all be a case of cracked-out mistaken identity?

I?ve been kind of surprised by the amount of ink that Amanda Bynes?s DUI arrest has generated. Maybe it was because Amanda got arrested just before a big holiday weekend and hers was the big ?celebrity scandal? of the holiday? Or is it because we – the gossips – need another Lindsay Lohan to yell at, pity and hold in contempt? Those are real questions. Because while there are few people that disgust as much as Lindsay Lohan, I understand WHY her cracked-out shenanigans get so much attention. At one point, she was poised to be an A-list actress. At one point, she could carry a sizeable film and she actually had an enviable career, and she pissed, snorted and chugged it all away. Is Amanda in the same situation? Not really. She had success in television, but the past five years haven?t been that great for Bynes, career-wise. Supporting parts in Hairspray and Easy A. Some voice work. And lots and lots of clubbing and partying.
Something else surprising me – People Magazine, the Celebrity Bible, has been getting some interesting exclusives about Bynes. They had the interview with Bynes?s dad that I covered yesterday, in which Rick Bynes claimed his daughter was completely sober and she never ever drank. TMZ countered with a video of Amanda looking drunk as hell, being carried out of a club. Anyway, People Mag also got this interesting exclusive:
What led to Amanda Bynes’s surprising DUI arrest on Friday?
“This DUI was definitely just a serious lapse in judgment,” a source tells PEOPLE of the former Nickelodeon star.
“She hit a wall personally and professionally [in 2008] … I think she’s been a little lost since then,” the insider says of the actress, who dated Doug Reinhardt in 2009 and was linked to Liam Hemsworth shortly afterward.
But according to the 26-year-old’s father, Rick Bynes, his daughter doesn’t drink. He tells PEOPLE she was held in jail because “she was upset and very emotional.”
And a source tells PEOPLE that Bynes “seemed fine to drive” when she left the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood ? where she is a regular and had dinner Thursday night before her arrest. She had alcohol, but “never seemed drunk,” the source says.
Bynes then went to Greystone Manor (where she’s also a regular), and was arrested after leaving there. Adds the source: “Bynes tried to come back to party [at the Standard] only hours after she was released from her DUI arrest,” but she is no longer welcome at the hotel.
Bynes was held overnight at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s department’s station following her arrest. Though authorities would not comment on her particular case, the sheriff’s station website states, “If the offense is alcohol or drug related, the suspect will stay at the sheriff’s station until he or she can safely care for himself or herself.”
Another source, who calls Bynes “a very sweet girl,” says, “[She] was raised in the industry and came up in the industry, so she has kind of a twisted head space in terms of social groups.”
Her dad, however, says, “She just chooses not to work, and because of that people go after her.”
In July 2010, Bynes reversed her Tweeted decision to retire from the entertainment business, telling PEOPLE a year later that she “just really needed some time off,” adding, “I’ve been acting since I was 7.”

Ugh, that story made me sad. It makes me think that she?s not aggressively in-your-face like the Cracken. Like, the Cracken would have clipped the cop car, then when the cop tried to arrest her, she would have thrown her cocktail on him and started crack-squawking about bribes. Amanda just seems like a really messed up girl who doesn?t know which end is up. Of course, that?s not an excuse to drink-and-drive (or coke-and-drive, or what have you). Also – the fact that she tried to go back to The Standard AFTER she got out of jail- that says to me that she was downing cocktails all over the place. Just me?

As we talked about on Friday (I made it the lead link), Amanda Bynes was arrested early Friday morning for a DUI. The header photo is her mug shot – she looks kind of busted, but she?s not as puffy as she?s looked in past appearances. Amanda was caught for drunk driving because she drunkenly plowed into a patrol car, which is one of the most idiotic things I?ve ever heard. It?s dumb enough to drive drunk – but to drive drunk and then drunkenly try to pass a cop car and end up plowing into said cop car? Ugh. Anyway, there?s more information about Amanda and what she?s going to do now. Guess what? Amanda thinks she?s innocent!

The ?She?s the Man? star was sprung from jail Friday, hours after being picked up by police at about 3 a.m. for careening into a cop car at the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica boulevards.
But spies tell us that after Bynes made bail, she was seen high-tailing it straight over to the Beverly Hills Hotel?s Polo Lounge power spot where she met with her p.r. rep and one of LA?s top DUI lawyers.
?Amanda and a publicist met criminal defense attorney Richard Hutton at the Polo Lounge,? a spy told Page Six. ?Amanda was exhausted and famished, but wanted to hire an attorney immediately.?
The DUI arrest was reportedly just the most recent trouble behind the wheel for Bynes, who celebrated her 26th birthday last Tuesday. TMZ reported that the actress was pulled over last month in LA for talking on her cellphone while driving, but that she drove off before the cop could hand a ticket to sign. According to TMZ, the cop did not pursue her, and she later stopped by a police station to sign the ticket.
But this time, the former Nickelodeon actress was attempting to pass a police car in her black BMW when she collided with the cruiser instead. She was arrested for driving under influence, with bail set at $5,000.
?She says she is totally innocent and wanted to know what she is facing,? said a source of Bynes? meeting with Hutton, who?s previously repped Paris Hilton and ?Prison Break? star Lane Garrison in DUI cases.
Sources said that Bynes, her rep and Hutton met for ?about an hour and a half.?
In 2007, Hilton was spotted in tears after leaving a meeting with Hutton, and her mom, Kathy. No word on whether Bynes kept it together after discussing her legal options.
A rep for Bynes did not return a request for comment.

There are several shocking things in that report. One, they let you out on $5000 bail after you drive drunk and plow into a cop car? For real?!! I would think it would be much, much more. As for Amanda?s lawyer and her ?innocence?? God knows. I would say that she?s just trying to get some attention, but I don?t know enough about her to really judge her famewhore-ness. To me, she just seems like a really screwed up girl who is in WAY over her head with addiction and alcoholism.

At around 3 AM this morning, Amanda Bynes (who rather be banging black dudes) was arrested for DUI after trying to pass a cop car in her black BMW. Keyword: trying. If you haven’t figured it out by now, she didn’t make it.
Amanda ended up sideswiping the rear panel of the police cruiser. She was pulled over and determined unfit to be behind the wheel.She’s since ponied up the $5,000 bail and has been released from jail in West Hollywood.
Sideswiping a cop has to be the dumbest way for a drunk driver to get popped. Like most drunk people, it was probably going well for about 5 seconds until her foot slammed on the gas for no reason at all.
This isn’t the first time Amanda drove drunk. Last month on St. Patrick’s Day, TMZ’s camermen urged the valet to not hand over the keys to Amanda, but they did anyway.
A week before that, Amanda drove off while a cop was writing her a ticket for talking on a cell phone. She later went to the police station to sign the ticket. Probably after she sobered up.

Landing herself in an undesirable situation, Amanda Bynes was arrested in West Hollywood, California early Friday morning (April 6) for driving under the influence of alcohol.
After getting pulled over around 3AM, the "She's The Man" actress was taken into police custody, where she still remains according to authorities.
While there's no word on when she plans to walk out of the slammer, reports say Amanda's bail has been set at $5,000.
Just last month Bynes found herself in another bit of hot water with cops, having been pulled over for talking on her cell phone while behind the wheel.
