Amanda Bynes’ driver’s license was said to have been suspended last week but that didn’t stop Amanda from cruising around LA in her beat up BMW where she was eventually pulled over for driving without her headlights on.
Police gave her a verbal warning and let her go. No word on if they ran her license which would have shown it to be suspended but what does it matter. It’s LA. She could have dragged a homeless man 100 ft and all the cops would have done is suggest she go get a car wash.
I’m no lip reader, but I tried to make out what the cop was talking to her about for so long. Here’s what I have so far. “Hey, so your Amanda Bynes from that showWhat I Like About You, right? I know you prefer black men but maybe we can work something out. I’ll let you touch my gun. It’s a really nice gun. Department issued. Well, hey, can I get your number? For… our report. Ok, well, can I at least get a blowy before you leave? How about a handy? Aw, c’mon. I’m not asking for the world here.”

LA commuters can rest easy. After a DUI, two reported hit-and-runs and a few fender benders, the California Department of Motor Vehicles has suspended Amanda Bynes’ driver’s license. The DMV didn’t give an exact reason or say when the suspension took effect which sounds about right considering they’re mostly useless when it comes to giving anyone information.
No response yet from Amanda Bynes and it doesn’t look like she’ll be asking Obama for help this time around considering he’s a little busy. Plus, her Twitter seems a little empty. Anyway, I think she should go clubbing in a Segway from now on. There’s nothing uncool about that no matter how hard the bouncer and everyone in line laughs at me. I mean, you.

Finally, some progress in Amanda Bynes’ case. Amanda has been compared to Lindsay Lohan (which she of course doesn’t take favorably to) in that she’s earned a DUI, she’s continually denied responsibility and claimed to be sober, and she’s been involved in a string of car accidents since. Given our collective impression of the California legal system, which has been very lenient on Lindsay Lohan (but not Paris Hilton arguably, why was that?), none of us expected Bynes to get more than a slap on the wrist. That may change – possibly – now that she’s being charged with two counts of hit and run for two separate incidents in which she hit other cars and fled the scene. Of course she’s still driving at this point, so I would be satisfied if she got her license taken away. (Not that it would stop her from driving.) Here’s more, from TMZ:
Amanda Bynes has been charged with TWO counts of hit-and-run — after allegedly smashing into some car and fleeing the scene … twice.
If convicted on both counts, she faces up to a year in jail.
We broke the story … prosecutors recently reopened Bynes’ hit-and-run case from back in April because the actress was accused of yet another hit-and-run last month.
Now, the L.A. City Attorney has taken the next step — charging Bynes with two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run, stemming from the two incidents.
As for the second alleged incident, we’re told the “smoking gun” for detectives was that the damage to the victim’s car matched the damage to Amanda’s.
She’s due in court September 27th.
Calls to Bynes’ reps weren’t immediately returned.

Driving is a privilege that you earn, not a right. Maybe they’ll take her license away, but I doubt she’ll face steeper consequences. And then maybe she’ll be busted driving on a suspended license, have to go before the same judge as Paris Hilton, and get sentenced to a month solid in jail, no take-backs, like Paris. Here’s hoping. By the way, that worked for Paris (sort-of) didn’t it? Wait, she got arrested for cocaine possession after that, so baby steps.

The LA City Attorney decided it had enough evidence to charge Amanda Bynes with two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run for twoseparateincidents where she hit a car and fled the scene. If convicted on both counts, she faces up to a year in jail.
The second incident she was charged for, cops were confident the damage to the victim’s car matched the damage to Amanda’s. She’ll be in court again on September 27. No word on if she’ll call on Obama for help again. He hasn’t done anything for her yet. But things could be different this time around. Amanda just knows it!

A little over a week ago, Amanda Bynes was accused of another hit and run. This time, Amanda played mechanic by trying to push the person’s bumper back into place and told her that they didn’t need to exchange information because the damage was minimal. I’m not sure if the bumper fell off again while she was talking her or after.
Anyway, the LAPD thinks they have enough information send it to the LA City Attorney for prosecution. He’ll then have final say on whether or not to charge Amanda for misdemeanor hit and run.

She just can't seem to escape car troubles, and yesterday (August 17) proved to be no different as the tank to Amanda Bynes Amanda Bynes' ride ran dry while she was behind the wheel in Studio City, California.
Luckily not too far from help, the 26-year-old actress puttered into a nearby shopping center, before trekking off on foot in search of some fuel.
Soon emerging with a station employee, and a gallon of much need gasoline in-hand, the former Hairspray cast member's car woes were quickly put to ease.
Following the fill up, a stars and stripes clad Amanda grabbed cash from a local ATM to pay back the handy clerk before getting back in the driver's seat and speeding off on her way.

Times are tough for Miss Amanda Beard who was spotted looking disheveled in Woodland Hills, CA this afternoon (August 14).
The 26-year-old actress donned a low cut shirt that showed off her cleavage, while adding tiny leopard print shorts, which exposed her thin, bruised legs.
Sources revealed that the former Nickelodeon stopped by a CVS Pharmacy, where she walked in and out of the store three times. Each time Miss Bynes exited the store, she apparently forgot where she parked.
In recent news, the ?What I Like About You? starlet was involved in her third hit-and-run incident.
TMZ reported that a woman was driving her Toyota Corolla when she was hit from behind by Amanda. As the other woman tried to exchange insurance information with her, Miss Bynes ?seemed nervous about that? and made the attempt at fixing the woman?s bumper herself, trying to push it back into place.
After the incident, she deleted her Twitter account.

I had to revisit our Amanda Bynes coverage to realize that the former Nickelodeon star, 26, just had her third known hit and run, and that’s not even counting her DUI arrest where she hit a cop car. To recap: Amanda got arrested for DUI in April after she hit a police car. A week later she was photographed after a night out at the Chateau Marmot texting while driving, during which she ran over a curb. Then in May she hit a car while trying to pass on the right and acted like she had no idea it happened when cops caught up with her. Amanda was not charged for that incident. Then we heard that Amanda had another hit and run in April on the freeway (the news of which didn’t come out until late May) and that she wouldn’t be charged for that either due to a lack of witnesses.
In response to all this news about what a terrible drunken driver she is, Amanda tweeted President Obama in June that the arresting officer (probably the one whose car she rammed into, since she wasn’t busted for any of the other incidents) should be fired. No joke. She wrote “Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.” It appears that Amanda has since shut her Twitter account down. And here I was hoping that she would get indignant about this latest story that she rear-ended yet another car on Saturday night and fled the scene. The woman whose car she “allegedly” rammed into described her as a “hot mess” and told TMZ that Amanda tried to downplay the damage, even pushing her bumper back up. Amanda left the scene before cops could get there and refused to provide any contact information. Here we go again.
A Los Angeles woman filed a police report yesterday afternoon claiming Amanda Bynes rear-ended her and then, after a brief conversation, drove off without exchanging insurance information … TMZ has learned.
Kisa (last name witheld) tells TMZ she was driving her Toyota Corolla on Ventura Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley when she was struck by a woman in a black BMW. Kisa tells TMZ she didn’t recognize the woman at first — because she “looked like a hot mess” — but once they began talking, she realized it was Amanda Bynes.
Kisa says she got out her insurance card to exchange information, but says Bynes “seemed nervous about that.” She says Bynes told her the damage to the Corolla didn’t look that bad and proceeded to push her bumper back into place.
Bynes then, according to Kisa, said they didn’t need to exchange info since neither car was damaged badly. Kisa maintains, however, that Amanda’s car had “significant” damage to it.
Kisa says she continued to try and exchange info with Bynes, but Bynes just got in her car and drove off.
Kisa tells TMZ she called the police, who responded to the scene and took a hit and run report. Kisa says when she told the officer who hit her, the officer replied, “Didn’t she just get a DUI?”

Amanda wasn’t charged for the other two hit and runs, so I’ll doubt she’ll be charged for this one. Considering how many times we’ve heard that she’s hit other cars and fled the scene in just a few months, it’s doubtful that she’ll voluntarily sober up or hire a cab whenever she gets blotto. In Amanda’s mind she’s completely innocent and able to drive. “Gimme da keys!” I just hope someone steps in before she seriously harms herself or someone else. This is in LA, though, do you think that’s going to happen? It seems like her DUI case is still pending after she plead not guilty. She wasn’t cited for three separate hit and runs, I doubt they’re even admissible.

After spending the last two months in an endless cycle of booze, car accidents, arrests and would-be, should-be arrests, Amanda Bynes has issued a statement about her tendency to drink-and-drive, and about her DUI charge. That statement was made via her Twitter:

YES. She tweeted President Obama and asked him nicely, ?Please fire the cop who arrested me.? ARE YOU JOKING? I hope to hell she was high and drunk when she tweeted that, because if she was stone-cold sober, I?ll have to think that she?s a flat-out moron. Besides all that, her denial of ?I don?t drink? and ?I also don?t hit and run? is bulls–t. Does she think people will believe her over the mounting evidence that she hits-and-runs on a now weekly basis?

Back in April, Amanda Bynes sideswiped a cop car and tried to drive off. She was arrested for DUI. Today, she was officially charged with one count of misdemeanor DUI but not charged with hit-and-run. Now the D.A. wants a sentencing enhancement because Amanda refused a breathalyzer or a blood test. Wait, you can do that? Apparently, you can, but if you’re convicted of a DUI, the penalties are more severe.
If convicted, Bynes faces a minimum of 48 hours in jail and a maximum of 6 months. Then again, this is LA and with “overcrowding” she’ll be in there for 30 seconds.
Shortly after this news broke, Amanda tweeted,”Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”
Oh sure, Barack Obama will drop everything and get right on that. Your refusal to take a breathalyzer or a blood test is clearly an indication of your innocence. And those videos showing you drunkenly driving off are justconjecture. No need for a messy trial or witness testimony. Your word as a celebrity is all anyone needs.
