Continuing work despite her current living arrangements, Katie Holmes headed off to practice for her Broadway play ?Dead Accounts? in New York City on Saturday (November 3).
The former Mrs. Tom Cruise made her way to the Music Box Theatre for rehearsals with her daughter Suri and a few stuffed animals in tow.
Due to Hurricane Sandy?s ugly aftermath on the east coast, Katie and her 6 year-old mini-me have reportedly been forced to evacuate and relocate from their Chelsea apartment.
According to reports, Miss Holmes is currently staying in a posh Upper East Side hotel until her apartment?s water and power are restored.
Aside from the weather taking a toll on the actress? residential woes, Sandy has also caused the preview date for ?Dead Accounts? to be pushed back a week - as the stage show was originally set to start this weekend.

Katie Holmes attended the Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s launch in New York City last night, and she looks fantastic. This little black, ruched dress fits her figure perfectly and highlights her lovely, post-Tom waistline. Katie and Suri are doing well in the big city, and Katie always does the daily school run to Suri’s new school, which is located very close to their Chelsea apartment. Still no sign of Tom after more than ten weeks of absence, but whatever.
As for this look, Katie not only looks good in the dress did very well in the makeup and hair department as well. Those long, loose curls lend her a very youthful appearance, which is also aided by that dewy complexion once again.
Here’s Katie posing with Narciso Rodriguez himself. Now there’s a man who owns his height with no lifts required! Katie should get on that.
Emma Roberts and Julianna Margulies were also at the event, and it looks like they drew the short end of the stick with these color-blocked dresses. To make matters somewhat worse, Julianne got stuck with a black and white “illusion” dress. Oh how I wish Stella McCartney had never started that trend.

After dropping Suri off to school, Katie Holmes was spotted taking a stroll through New York City on Thursday afternoon (October 11).
The 33-year-old actress donned a comfy blue sweater with jeans and a printed Pink top for her Big Apple outing.
In personal news, a friend recently dished to UK?s The Sun about the ?Batman Begin? star?s life as a single woman.
"Katie is just flourishing in her new life. Yes, there have been some dark moments but Katie was more than ready to embark on the next phase of her life post Tom Cruise," the source revealed.
"Katie felt that her professional career suffered because she was married to Tom and that she didn't have the final say in her acting roles," the source added.

Here are some photos from about a week ago of Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise out with one of Suri’s school friends (according to one of our photo agencies, but that can’t be right) for a spot of shopping. Notice that Katie has a new pair of fug booties in her arsenal, and I imagine we’ll be seeing those for at least the next year or so. Also, while Tom Cruise is alternatingly so lonely and miserable and cruising for da ladies, a new story from Radar would have us believe that Katie has decided to lay low and not leap back into the dating game for awhile. While this will come as very sad news for those of you who wish she would just get back with Joshua Jackson already, Katie has decided she’s had enough of the opposite sex for awhile, and she’s not merely referring to “old geezers” like Tom either. Call it the Gollum effect:
Katie Holmes is enjoying her new life being single since her divorce from Tom Cruise and has no plans on dating anyone anytime soon, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
“Katie is just flourishing in her new life,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Yes, there have been some dark moments but she was more than ready to embark on the next phase of her life post-Tom Cruise. Katie felt that her professional career suffered because she was married to Tom and that she didn’t have the final say in her acting roles. Katie is currently busy preparing for her role in Dead Accounts.
“Katie believes in love and hopes to get remarried one day but has absolutely no plans on dating anytime soon. Katie is devoted to being the best parent possible to Suri [Cruise] and continuing a smooth transition into their new lives together. Katie knows bringing a new man into the situation would only cause more stress for Suri right now and the actress is still recovering from the end of her marriage to Tom.”

Can one really blame Katie for not wanting to jump back onto the market so soon? Her last experience culminated in her transformation into a mail-order bride where she was essentially married to both Tom and David Miscavige. She’s probably got a good case of PTSD to work through, and dating would obviously only complicate her recovery. Yes, I am saying that being married to Tom Cruise and his cult was a highly traumatic experience, and there’s also the distinct possibility that she had sex with Tom too, which couldn’t possibly have made things any easier. Hell, Tom probably shouted “I feel the need for speed!” at crucial moments. Poor Katie probably needs a good, long break before she’ll ever be able to sleep with anyone again after that little nightmare.

Here are some photos of Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise in NYC earlier this week, and Suri is clearly not enjoying the paparazzi flashbulbs. Some of you have wondered why Katie subjects Suri to such a terrible atrocity as those strange men who take photos for money, but I really do think the paps serve a dual purpose of providing essentially free security because no Scientologist in their right mind would approach Katie while the cameras are snapping. Also, it’s not like Katie and Suri can live underground (although Suri’s new school does have a private parking garage) or never go outside, right? It’s sad to see Suri so disturbed by the cameras, yes, but maybe there’s really not a good solution to the problem. The little girl will always be photographed no matter what.
In yesterday’s story about Tom’s puffy, moob-covering jacket, Kaiser also covered this week’s In Touch story about how Tom hasn’t seen Suri in nearly two months because he’s so busy and important. As always, Tom’s movie-star schedule prevails. The guy never made it a priority to physically spend time with Suri before he and Katie split (as we uncannily pointed out the very day that she filed for divorce), so there’s no logical reason to assume that he’d change his ways for Suri’s sake after Katie left him. By Xenu, he had this All You Need Is Kill on his agenda, and even though he’s Tom Cruise and has the box-office clout (in an action capacity) to postpone production, Tom just can’t do that. Obviously, the guy can’t stand to be himself — he always has to be acting to become someone, anyone else — and I think he honestly cannot take a break for fear that he’d discover the empty shell lovingly created by his years of Scientology auditing.
As I’ve said before, it’s nothing new for Suri to not see Tom for months at a time, and Tom really believes that he can seasonally swoop in for Disneyworld fun and hold Suri while he smiles at the paps and swim with her in front of tabloid reporters, and that will be enough to rehabilitate his public image. Yet it really is true that Tom couldn’t be bothered show up for Suri first day of school. That’s the thing with Tom — he doesn’t even realize what’s really important to his daughter. He only knows how to “play the role of a father” for the cameras (TOOL). Now someone on Tom’s team has realized that Tom skipped out on a major Suri milestone, which doesn’t bode well for his image. So Tom’s lawyer, Burt Fields, has issued a statement that “Tom calls Suri every day, sometimes twice a day. He loves Suri and is a constant presence in her life.” Right.
Now for the more amusing part of this story, which is that Katie Holmes has finally let a bit of smartass attitude slip in regard to Tom. Allegedly, she told one of her friends that she thinks Tom is an old “geezer.” Of course, this is only funny because it’s about Tom:
No more older men for eligible bachelorette Katie Holmes! The 33-year-old actress told girlfriends clamoring to fix her up fast that she won’t consider dating a man old enough to be her father — a la “geezer” Tom Cruise, 50 — ever again!
Katie’s made it clear she’s not ready to date, but told pals that when she is, “Don’t even think about introducing me to any man more than five years older than I am! Next time, I want someone more my own age.”

You know, Tom is always so manic and full of energy that I always figured he’d be exhausting to live with. But do you think it’s possible that once the cameras go away, he just fades into the nearest fainting couch? His level of publicly displayed energy is rather unsustainable, and as much as his OT VIII level self would claim to defy the very laws of physics, he’s still confined to his human shell. Poor Tom. All the plastic surgery in the world can’t make him cool.

Katie Holmes covers the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar Russia, and Us Weekly is hilariously calling this Katie Holmes v. 3.0. Honestly? The photoshoot inside the magazine is very pretty, but the cover is awful. Katie looks very photoshopped here and her cheeks look very hollow. Plus, her nose looks kind of different than usual, and that hair looks like it was painted into the picture. Why did they do this to her and make it the cover shot? She looks much better in the below picture, right? Cute Joey Potter is almost back!
Otherwise, the clothes are cute, and Katie looks like she’s getting back to her old self again. Katie’s been laying low since her NYFW debut of the slightly improved Holmes & Yang line, but there’s been a bit of amusing news about her concerning an advance screening invite to The Master. The Weinstein Co. tried to summon her for their own publicity purposes, and Katie politely declined. Can you blame her?
Glowing reviews and powerhouse performances from Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams have made Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master a hot ticket among actors and industry operatives — with the exception of Tom Cruise’s ex-wife Katie Holmes.
Celebrity spotters tell us that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Steve Martin, Sam Rockwell, and filmmakers Spike Jonze and Quentin Tarantino are among the famous faces who’ve caught the movie during its limited release in New York and Los Angeles. Susan Sarandon was also in the crowd at the film’s 70-millimeter screening at the Ziegfeld Theater on Sept. 11.On Sept. 16, “One Tree Hill” actress Sophia Bush tweeted: “If you don’t go see The Master, there is officially no chance we’ll ever [be] friends. What. A. Movie! Brilliant performances.”
That same day, Hello I Must Be Going cast member Melanie Lynskey tweeted “Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in The Master makes me want to quit acting, keep acting, destroy things, kiss his face, cry for a day.”
One interesting footnote to the high celebrity demand to see The Master: A source close to the Sept. 11 Ziegfeld screening says Katie Holmes was invited to screening but sent her regrets. Her spokeswoman Leslie Sloane did not respond to Movieline’s request for comment on speculation that Holmes did not attend because her appearance would have created a media feeding frenzy that could have riled her ex-husband, Scientologist actor Tom Cruise.

I think Katie played it safe by not attending The Master because you know the media would have been all over that. Beyond the fact that Tom might have thrown a hissy fit about her attendance, I think it’s just a case of “too soon” where Katie’s enjoyment of the movie would be concerned. I mean, she just checked out of a six-year nightmare during which she was securely under the thumb of the unhinged, lift-wearing midget himself. Then there was the whole matter of seeing her face on a Vanity Fair cover that contained a detailed account of Tom’s wife audition process. Maybe a few years down the road, Katie will be able to Netflix The Master, but right now? Give the girl a break.
Now let’s get back to this photoshoot. Katie looks adventurous and happy in some of these photos. I also love those smoky eyes and wish I could wear that kind of makeup without feeling overdone.

Continuing to spend quality time together in the Big Apple, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise were spotted leaving their Tribeca hotel while heading downtown in New York City on Monday (September 17).
The former "Dawson's Creek" actress looked casually chic in jeans and a striped top while her adorable 6 year-old daughter seemed a bit irritated with the mob of awaiting shutterbugs.
Switching to career news, Katie has had her hands full since she just debuted her spring collection for Holmes & Yang at New York Fashion Week, and now it looks like the Hollywood beauty is adding makeup to her list of accomplishments.
The 33 year-old has just recently been named the face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics. Aside from her most recent gig, Holmes has also been the face of Miu Miu, Ann Taylor, J. Crew, and John Frieda in the past.

Katie Holmes has had a pretty big week. On Monday, Suri Cruise began first grade at the new Avenues school in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood. According to People, a nervous Suri was spotted “biting her nails through the tinted window of her SUV,” but Holmes (mostly) avoided photographers by backing into the school’s (very convenient and ultimately strategic) parking garage. Suri was also reportedly wearing a Pink bow atop her head and carrying a matching cheetah-print backpack, and contrary to previous reports, Tom Cruise was nowhere in sight on Suri’s first day of school. What a tool.

Tending to her clothing career, Katie Holmes showed up at the Holmes & Yang Spring 2013 runway show in New York City today (September 12).
Joined by her partner Jeanne Yang, the ?Dawson?s Creek? star looked to be in good spirits as she posed at The Box at Lincoln Center as part of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.
According to a report, Katie and Jeanne have banned the media from their actual presentation as a way of keeping everything focused on the new collection.
A statement declared, "Please note that tomorrow's Holmes & Yang presentation is CLOSED to all media, unless you have already been approved by their team. No media will be allowed to enter the venue, unless you have a direct invitation from the Holmes & Yang PR team."
Meanwhile, an insider shared, "This is a big deal for Katie to show in the tents, under the full attention of the fashion editors and the glare of the media scrutiny. They could have done a small show elsewhere, so this proves she and Jeanne are very serious about their business."

Katie Holmes made her first official public appearance last night at the Style Awards, which kick off New York Fashion Week, where (for better or worse) Holmes & Yang will show its latest line in a huge show within the tents at Lincoln Center. Certainly, Katie must be burning with nervous energy at the very thought, and my general reaction here is that she looks really tired and in need of a substantial nap.
As far as fashion goes, Katie wore a Carolina Herrera skirt-and-shirt combo, and she was on hand to present the “Designer of the Year” award to Herrera, so that explains her choice of clothing for the evening. Look at her shoes though! The fug booties were obviously left at home in the care of Suri, and while the shirt looks like something we’ve been watching Katie wear all summer long throughout she and Suri’s NYC jaunts, the skirt is just funky enough to add some kick to the outfit. Understated hair and makup complete her look quite nicely, and this is a fairly appropriate way for Katie to make her return to the red carpet.
Nicole Richie was there too and wore a Anthony Vaccarello cutout-styled dress. The color and the fabric of the dress are stunning against Nicole’s skin, but it’s a tad bit too revealing. At least Nicole pulls it off because she’s not so busty — otherwise, it would have been a rather obscene look. Her hair and makeup fit with the offbeat mood of the dress.
Amy Adams attended as well and wore an eggplant Giambattista Valli dress. This dress is acceptable but not very dramatic. I’d like to see Amy take a few more risks on the red carpet, but it’s not like she’s known as a fashion girl either. Perhaps if Amy had gone with loose, flowing curls, she could have made more of an impact here. Those pointy-toed shoes are pretty awful though.
