Enjoying some well-deserved down time, Katie Holmes took a stroll around New York City on Wednesday (June 26).
The "Dawson's Creek" actress looked perfect for summer in black sunglasses and a bright patterned sun dress as she trekked through the busy streets while listening to some tunes.
Although Katie was out solo today, the 34-year-old actress is used to being on mommy duty all of the time to her adorable six-year-old mini-me, Suri Cruise.
Over the weekend, Holmes chaperoned her daughter and a gal pal as they enjoyed a playdate at a local Big Apple park.

Stepping out for a social call, Katie Holmes showed up at Patsis restaurant in New York City for some delicious lunch yesterday afternoon (June 20).
Joined by a male friend, the ?Teaching Mrs. Tingle? actress was in good spirits and wore a unique ensemble including a denim jacket and a navy printed dress as she held up her end of the discussion that was going on.
And now that she?s been single for a full year, Katie has enjoyed the lower profile she?s been able to maintain following her divorce from Tom Cruise.
An insider told press, "She is in her prime, and truly enjoying the life she is creating for herself." Katie has been working on her new film ?Mania Days? in NYC as of late and focusing on being a great mom to her daughter Suri.

Taking advantage of the gorgeous summer weather, Katie Holmes grabbed lunch with a friend in New York City on Wednesday (June 19).
The 34-year-old actress opted for no bra and donned a white tee with a bright maxi as she dined at Amaranth before hopping on the subway.
In personal news, Miss Holmes and her ex-hubby Tom Cruise are reportedly doing great one year after their very public divorce.
"Tom and Katie are in a really good place," a source tells E! News. "They have a good relationship. Soon after the split, obviously, they didn't. But they have managed to mend their relationship for the sake of Suri. Things are cordial right now."

Hard at work on her latest project, Katie Holmes shot new scenes for her upcoming film "Mania Days" in New York City on Thursday (May 30).
The former "Dawson's Creek" actress sported a casual ensemble in dark jeans, combat boots and a classic tank top as she strutted around set with a big smile on her face.
The romantic drama is officially described as follows: "Two manic depressives meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance that brings out all of the beauty and horror of their condition."
Also starring Luke Kirby, the pair have been spotted numerous times in the Big Apple where they have been busy working on the final product before it's release in 2014.

Enjoying a day off from shooting her new movie, Katie Holmes strolled around New York City on Wednesday (May 22).
The "Dawson's Creek" star went casual in a denim button-down shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers as she chatted on her cell phone.
Earlier this week, the 34-year-old actress caused the rumor mill to start grinding when she had dinner with her "Mania Days" co-star Luke Kirby.
In the film, the two play manic depressives who meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance. Written and directed by Paul Dalio, the flick is Katie's return to the big screen after a brief stint on Broadway in "Dead Accounts."

These are new photos from Katie Holmes on the set of Mania Days, which co-stars Luke Kirby. I realize the last batch of photos was pretty meh, but here, you’re getting Katie Holmes’ version of a wet t-shirt context as she frolics in the fountain of Washington Square Park. I bet it’s pretty cold for poor Katie, right? Temperaturewise, NYC is hitting high 70s and low 80s, and that’s a bit too nipply for comfort when it comes to soaking oneself in a public fountain. Oh well, Katie looks like she’s having a fantastic time anyway. Ugh, fountain germs.
Now if Katie’s dripping wet tee doesn’t bring all the boys to the yard, that’s just fine — because according to Page Six, the former Mrs. Tom Cruise is getting asked out all over the place on the set of this movie. Dudes are just walking up and taking a chance, and they’re all getting shot down. I love it:

A source on the set of her latest movie, the Spike Lee-produced Mania Days, tells us she’s been asked out seven times: “They were crew members and extras just chancing it. It really got on the nerves of director Paul Dalio. Needless to say, she said no to everyone.” While the film centers on the romance between two manic-depressives who meet in a psychiatric hospital, Holmes has been quiet on the dating front since splitting with Tom Cruise last year.

Joined by costar Luke Kirby, the ?Disturbing Behavior? babe couldn?t stop smiling as she chatted with the handsome actor in between takes.
Meanwhile, Katie was recently claimed to be ?scary skinny? by Life & Style magazine, who declared that having ex-husband Tom Cruise around was having an adverse effect on Holmes? eating.
The tabloid?s source said that Cruise ?pops up in NYC for a day here, a day there, he?ll take Suri for a night or two. That?s really not something Katie?s been used to.?
However, it turns out a pal of Katie?s called the story ?nonsense,? especially given that the arrangement between Holmes and Cruise has always been that way.

You know how some celebrities say guys never really go up to them because they’re intimated? Well, Katie Holmes has the opposite problem. Guys aren’t intimidated enough. Sources say crew members won’t stop asking her out on the set of her latest movieMania Days. She’s already been asked 7 times.
?They were crew members and extras just chancing it. It really got on the nerves of director Paul Dalio. Needless to say, she said no to everyone.?
Katie probably feels insulted. Sure, having one Joe Schmo grip ask you out is charming and an ego boost. But having 7 ask you out makes you feel like everyone sees you as a desperate single mom. “I have standards, dammit. Seven figure income or GTFO!”

Here are photos of Katie Holmes on the set of her new movie, Mania Days. Katie looks thrilled to be back at work (and remember, Katie’s career is on fire now – ha), but I am not thrilled to see that fug booties are in tow. Not THE fug booties, mind you, but a pair very much like them. Fug booties must be Katie’s answer to “the lifts.”
You might notice that even without the new fug booties, Katie looks rather unkempt in a frumpy sweater, plain white tee, and Lee cutoff jeans. Her decidedly non-glamourous appearance here is likely a result of her character, who is a manic depressive. Who’s the dude? His name is Luke Kirby, and he also plays a manic depressive who falls in love with Katie’s character in a psychiatric hospital … because that always works out. He’s kind of cute though, right? And he and Katie look good together from behind too. I bet the tabloids will be setting them up in no time. It looks like they had fun while the cameras weren’t rolling as well.
Katie’s also rocking some grey strands of hair here (which are decidedly different than the grey that Tom Cruise gave her) for her character, who is a poet in addition to being bipolar. This is going to be quite the depressing romantic dramedy, isn’t it? Oh well, at least Katie’s branching out a bit and doing different things, unlike perma-action-mode Tom.

The mommy-daughter duo ignored the always-present paparazzi as they quickly hurried inside the building.
In personal news, Katie reportedly has no plans to see her ex-husband Tom Cruise and ?couldn?t be happier? since their divorce.
According to a source, ?The contrast between the two couldn't be greater, Tom has been in a bad place ever since she left him and has found refuge in his work. Katie's the opposite. She couldn't be happier and, other than worrying about the lack of a father figure in Suri's life sometimes, she doesn't have a single regret."
