When Guy Ritchie and Madonna started to fall apart in 2008, it became clear very quickly that there was no love lost. Both of them played to the media, and Guy ?won.? You can blame sexism, you can say that Guy had a better publicist, you can say that everyone loves it when an important woman fails. Personally, I don?t care. I?m not a huge fan of either of them and I?m not going to act as an apologist for either of them. Guy ended up getting a large settlement from Madonna, and after all was said and done with their divorce, it didn?t seem like they had very much to do with each other. Madonna went on the record several times over the years about how miserable she felt during that marriage and she slammed Guy several times. Guy never really put his name on anything insulting towards her.
Skip ahead seven years and here we are. Madonna and Guy about to engage in yet another battle royale over the custodial arrangement of their 15-year-old son Rocco. From where I?m sitting, it very much seems like a redux of their divorce battle ? both camps (Camp Madge and Camp Guy) are throwing out accusations in the media and salt is being poured into old wounds. Yesterday, TMZ seemed to get a leak from Camp Guy:
Guy Ritchie and 15-year-old Rocco have formed a united front, and plan to wage a custody war against Madonna … sources connected with Guy tell TMZ. Our sources say Rocco has not softened his position … he now wants to live with his dad. We’re told Rocco feels his mom is “too controlling” and doesn’t pay him any real attention. It’s now been a month since he left Madonna’s tour to live with his dad, and he feels more strongly than ever he wants to stay put.
We’re told Rocco, like his dad, feels home life in London is more stable and loving. It’s no longer just that Rocco doesn’t like touring with his mom … he says he just doesn’t want to live with her anymore. We’re told Guy has hired a lawyer to mount a legal fight.
As we reported, our Madonna sources say Guy has gotten in Rocco’s ear and is talking trash about her. The two have had a rocky co-parenting experience, often fighting. A New York judge has ordered Rocco back in the U.S. for a hearing in February.
[From TMZ]
The Madonna Apologists will say that this is Guy?s consistent M.O. over the years, to paint her as a control-freak who is out-of-touch with her own children, that she?s a workaholic who cares more about her tours than her children. The thing is? I actually believe that she is that person. I?m not saying Guy is a prince of a man, but just because this is coming from Guy?s camp, doesn?t mean it should be dismissed out of hand. Meanwhile, Us Weekly has an ?exclusive? from Madonna?s camp.
“Madonna has been actively doing all she can to get her son Rocco Ritchie home and back to school in New York,” the source tells Us. A U.S. court judge has ruled that both Guy and Rocco must return to the U.S. in order to discuss future custody arrangements. The insider close to the situation further alleges that Ritchie is “interfering” with Rocco’s education. The teen currently attends high school in NYC.
“Rocco, along with Madonna?s other three children, have never been away from her for any extended period of time until daughter Lourdes went away to college last year,” the source continues. “Madonna, who lost her own mother at a very young age, has always made her children?s education a priority along with their well-being.”
According to the insider, this is the longest Rocco has ever been away from Madonna since she and Ritchie divorced after eight years of marriage in November 2008. “The only time the children have not been with Madonna was when her sons Rocco and David visit Ritchie in the U.K. as part of a custody order mutually agreed to eight years ago,” the source tells Us.
[From Us Weekly]
Um, they have schools in London? And earlier reporting on Rocco?s education claimed that he attended Lyce Franais in New York, and there are Lyce Franais schools all around the world, even in London (gasp!). I?m just saying? I doubt Guy Ritchie is all ?Rocco never has to go to school again!? And where was Madonna?s concern for Rocco?s education when she was dragging him around the world on her Rebel Heart tour?

Madonna has always been known as a type-A perfectionist. That?s what has made her increasingly frequent public failures that much funnier: we know that Madonna is beating herself up because nothing went smoothly. Stories about Madonna?s perfectionism extend to every aspect of her life, which of course includes her current Rebel Heart Tour. And according to Radar, Madonna?s Rebel Heart crew has had ENOUGH.
Madonna has never been known for being demure, but insiders close to her Rebel Heart Tour preparation tell RadarOnline.com that her diva behavior has really crossed the line! With the 56-year-old?s latest tour set to kick off on September 9, it?s crunch time, and insiders say she is cracking under the pressure.
?Madonna is a real piece of work,? one insider told Radar. ?On Monday night, the dancers declared mutiny on Madonna because she is working them way too hard. One dancer even went so far as to take off his credentials, throw it in her face and say, ?F*ck you. I quit!’ She had to call security to protect her and escort her remaining dancers out!?
?On another occasion, one of her dancers broke her arm during rehearsals and instead of showing concern, Madonna had a nuclear meltdown,? the insider claimed. ?Everyone is required to wear black head-to-toe at all times and she has said, in her own words, that there are ?no fat c*nts allowed in her presence.’?
A second source close to production echoed the concerns of the first.
?This is by far the biggest production she has ever done,? the insider told Radar. ?She is more demanding for this upcoming tour than she ever has been and wants everything done now. Madonna seems to expect everyone to drop every other project that they are working on to cater to her and make her tour their only priority in life. The problem is that she does not pay very well, but she knows that people that she hires will work countless hours at less than premium wage because she is Madonna.?
The source added, ?Her ego is so over-inflated and she thinks that her staff are lucky to be in her presence. She been a complete nightmare to work for and the tour has not even started yet.?
[From Radar]
??There are ?no fat c*nts allowed in her presence.?? WHOA THERE. Madonna seems to have the same loathing for overweight people as she usually reserves solely for hydrangeas. Anyway, I know this comes from Radar, but I still believe every word of it. I?ve been trained by the media and Madonna herself to always believe the worst stories about Madge specifically. Of course she had a meltdown when someone broke their arm. Of course she doesn?t pay for sh-t. Of course she?s a mega-bitch. Bitch, she?s Madonna!
When we did it I"ll admit it wasn't satisfied ………….??#rebelhearttour

| Madonna in 'Rebel Heart' Moschino at the Met Gala: try-hard or fantastic' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Madonna has a complicated history at the Met Gala. She used to attend and be the most popular person there. Then something changed, and all of the cool girls kind of rolled their eyes at Madonna. But Madge still comes back. I think she was probably grateful that she didn?t have to avoid Gwyneth Paltrow this year (Goop didn?t come). Madge also tried something new this year: an attempt at dressing somewhat appropriately. She wore this Moschino gown reading ?Rebel Heart? (because that doesn?t get old, I guess). Her date was Diplo and Madge made an effort to hang out with the cool kids, like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kimye. She posted Instagrams the whole night, defying the ?no selfies? rule.
More photos? Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli Couture, Spring 2015. I?m sorry, but this is so funny to me. Allison fancies herself some kind of major fashionista and this is what she ended up wearing? Hahahaha.
Livia Firth wore a custom-made Antonio Berardi, made from recycled plastic bottles. Seriously! Livia is always trying to sign people up for wearing eco-friendly or recycled clothing. I think she was the only one doing eco-wear this year though. I think this is on-theme, albeit slightly boring. Still, she?s elegant and so is her lovely husband. I love them.
Alicia Keys in Gaultier, with Gaultier. It doesn?t really feel like it?s on-theme, and yet? I kind of like this. I think Alicia was the only one wearing Gaultier too, so she stood out.

| Madonna: 'We still live in a very sexist society that wants to limit people' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

To promote her new album, Rebel Heart, Madonna covers the new issue of Cosmopolitan. Cosmo actually sent us the image of Madonna?s first Cosmo cover (from back in 1990) too. I personally don?t think they should have chosen Madonna-in-the-mask for this 2015 cover, but whatever. Madonna still wants to be seen as a provocateur, which apparently involves Mardi Gras masks. Here are some highlights from her interview:
On longevity in her career: ?Popularity comes and goes. You need to know who you are, what you stand for, and why you?re here.?
On sexuality and ageism: ?Don?t be fooled, not much has changed ? certainly not for women. We still live in a very sexist society that wants to limit people. Since I started, I?ve had people giving me a hard time because they didn?t think you could be sexual or have sexuality or sensuality in your work and be intelligent at the same time. For me, the fight has never ended.?
On collaborating with Kanye West on her album Rebel Heart: ?It?s a little bit of a bullfight, but we take turns. He knows that he?s walking into a room with a person with a strong point of view, and I do too. I listen to what he has to say, take it in, and he listens to what I say and takes it in. We didn?t agree on everything, but he has good ideas.?
On internet haters: ?You can hide behind your computer or your phone and say whatever you want ? you?re not known. Could you say it to my face? Would you say it to my face? I doubt it.?
[From Cosmopolitan]
The ?would you say it to my face?? question has always intrigued me. Like, I don?t think I would have a problem telling a celebrity to their face that their outfit is ugly. I?m sort of blunt/rude like that. But would I tell Madonna to her 2015-Face that she needs to stop with the plastic surgery? Eh. I would probably chicken out.
As for Madonna?s continued conversation about sexism? her fight sometimes feels dated. And it feels like she only cares about how sexism affects her, not the plight of women everywhere. Is sexual agency a feminist cause? For sure. But is that the main crux of feminism? No.

Madonna has a really good new interview with Out Magazine, and it?s actually one of the best pieces I?ve read in a while. Shocking, I know. For some reason, I?ve been liking Madonna?s interviews in particular lately, and this Out piece might be her best one. It?s not just what she says ? although the conversation goes from Joan of Arc to women?s rights to Detroit ? but the analysis of Madonna?s decades-long relationship with the LGBT community. If you have ten minutes, it?s definitely worth the read. Some highlights:
Madonna on the theories that Joan of Arc was gay: ?Why was she gay? Come on! OK, she dressed like a boy and she cut off her hair. That?s what the church tried to say. Also that the dauphin who supported her, that he was gay. According to historians, the dauphin is the one who supplied her with the army, the cavalry, whatever, to take on England. Did they thank her for that? Of course not. They went, ?Wait a minute, how could a girl do that? There must be something wrong with her.? ?
She relates to Joan of Arc: ?I can relate. Sometimes I?m getting burned at the stake metaphorically. Though not right this second.?
On gay rights being ahead of women?s rights: ?Gay rights are way more advanced than women?s rights. People are a lot more open-minded to the gay community than they are to women, period? It?s moved along for the gay community, for the African-American community, but women are still just trading on their ass. To me, the last great frontier is women?. Women are still the most marginalized group. You?re still categorized?you?re still either a virgin or a whore. If you?re a certain age, you?re not allowed to express your sexuality, be single, or date younger men.?
On wishing that she were gay: ?I didn?t feel like straight men understood me. They just wanted to have sex with me. Gay men understood me, and I felt comfortable around them. There was only that one problem, which is that they didn?t want to have sex with me! So?conundrum! I was like, ?How am I ever going to get a date? Maybe if I cut my hair and I lose a lot of weight, someone will mistake me for a guy and ask me out.?
[From Out Magazine]
It seems like Madonna didn?t so much wish she was gay as she wished she was a gay man. Look at her career, look her approach to her career and her life: she?s less a straight woman and more of a gay man. I also think it?s interesting that the ?Queen Bee? of gay culture is telling gay men ? in one of the biggest LGBT publications in the country ? that they still have it easier than the average woman. That male privilege extends to gay men too, and women still have to ?trade on their ass.? She?s not wrong, you know?

| Madonna: 'Most men my age are married with children, they?re not datable' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I don?t know what?s happening to me, but I?ve been going through a stage where I don?t immediately hate everything coming out of Madonna?s mouth. Is it just me or does she actually seem a bit calmer? Yes, she?s still flashing her butt at the Grammys, but her interviews are coming off as reflective, a little bit sad and interesting. Madge sat down with the NYDN recently to talk about her new album, feeling nostalgic, why she ends up with younger guys and how Kanye West is the new Madonna.
Madge thinks Kanye is the new Madge: ?Kanye is the new Madonna. Kanye is the black Madonna. We know, and recognize, that we have that in common. We?re comrades in the envelope-pushing genre.?
Showing her butt at the Grammys: ?Bitch, this is what my ass looks like ? show me what your ass looks like when you?re 56. I take care of myself. I?m in good shape. I can show my ass when I?m 56, or 66 ? or 76. Who?s to say when I can show my ass? It?s sexism. It?s ageism. And it?s a kind of discrimination.?
She?s still vulnerable sometimes: ?I?m only human. I?d like to get to the point where nothing can shake me. Sometimes I?m there, sometimes I?m not.?
Her new album is about a bad breakup? ?When I started writing the record, I had just broken up with somebody. (Likely either Brahim Zaibat or Timor Steffens)
She?s not just into younger guys: ?It?s just what happens. Most men my age are married with children. They?re not datable. I?m a very adventurous person and I also have a crazy life. I?m a single mother. I have four children. I mean, you have to be pretty open-minded and adventurous to want to step into my world. People who are older, and more set in their ways, are probably not as adventurous as someone younger.?
Ageism: ?People have always judged me, and given me s–t about one thing or another. Now they?re giving me s–t about age. It?s bull—t. And mostly I hear it from women. I feel I should be hearing support ? like, ?Good for you.? It?s like everything else. I?m opening doors for women behind me who one day won?t have to deal with this s–t that I deal with.?
[From The NYDN]
I think she?s kind of right about Kanye being the new Madonna. It used to be that Madonna was the queen of controversy. Nowadays, people just? don?t really care, right? Now Kanye is the one. Everyone either loves him or hates him and you can create massive flame wars by simply defending him or slamming him.
As for Madonna?s habit of dating younger guys? ?Most men my age are married with children. They?re not datable.? At first I was like, ?How rude, she would burned at the stake if she was a man and said that about dateable women!? But I think she means she?s not going to date married men. Which is actually a good call. Still, she should just admit that she likes dating younger guys because she wants to steal their souls and drink their blood.

| Madonna admits she has 'a little bit of whiplash' from her BRIT Awards fall | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Here are some photos of Madonna out and about in London last night. She had dinner with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and then they all went to Annabel?s for a party and I guess Madonna gave a private performance. Check out her shoes!!! I know we?re supposed to think that Madonna is bringing back the big-soled shoes that were popular in the 1990s, but those look totally orthopedic to me. Like, she needs a wide, sturdy shoe so she won?t bust her ass again, like she did at the BRIT Awards. Speaking of, Madonna appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show (in an episode to be aired next month) and she talked about her fall at the BRITs.
“I didn’t hurt my butt, I hurt my head,” the Material Girl, 56, said Thursday during a taping of ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show in Britain, for an episode that will air next month. “I know how to fall. I’ve fallen off my horse many times, and I tucked, and I have good core strength ? but the thing is, I had a little bit of a whiplash, and I smacked the back of my head. So, there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. making sure that I was still compos mentis.”
She said the incident was bruising for another reason, too.
“It was a horrible nightmare, because I like to be amazing,” she said. “Seriously, I rehearse and I rehearse and I rehearse, so that when I do the show it’s effortless and I create magic, and I did the opposite. I actually created a horror show for everyone.”
Some people actually thought it was a stunt, based off the “Living for Love” lyrics, which include lines like, “Took me to heaven and let me fall down ? Lifted me up, and watched me stumble.”
“I’m never writing lyrics like that again! The universe was trying to teach me a lesson, I guess,” Madonna joked.
She also described the incident itself in further detail, saying she was thrown off from the very beginning of the number.
“I’m a creature of habit, and I rehearse everything ? everything, everything, everything ? and I was thrown a wrench at the very beginning of my entrance,” she said. “I was told to tie my cape and start much further back than we had rehearsed.”
She added: “Everybody was worried that my cape was going to slide off because it’s quite heavy, so they tied it really tight around my neck ? So here I am marching in like a queen, and I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled my silky string, and it would not come undone. And my two lovely Japanese dancers basically strangled me off the stage. I had a choice: I could either be strangled or fall with the cape, and I fell.”
[From People]
I believe her. I think that?s what happened ? she had rehearsed it differently and the cape was tied too tightly. The question I have is: who choreographed this mess? Madonna?s performances at the Grammys and the BRIT Awards have been very, very careful. Even before the fall, she?s been moving like she?s afraid she?s going to hurt herself. Who has been choreographing these complicated routines for her and why does she agree to it?
Incidentally, Madonna talked about ageism in her Rolling Stone interview this week, saying:
?It?s still the one area where you can totally discriminate against somebody, and talk s**t. Because of their age. Only females, though. Not males. No one would dare to say a degrading remark about being black or dare to say a degrading remark on Instagram about someone being gay. But my age ? anybody and everybody would say something degrading to me. And I always think to myself, why is that accepted? What?s the difference between that and racism, or any discrimination? They?re judging me by my age. I don?t understand. I?m trying to get my head around it. Because women, generally, when they reach a certain age, have accepted that they?re not allowed to behave a certain way. But I don?t follow the rules. I never did, and I?m not going to start.?
[From RS via Pink News]
Yeah? I mean, I see where she?s going and I sort of agree. But I also think that it?s ageist to expect a 56 year old woman to compete at the same level with the 20-something pop stars of the moment. Is Madonna perfectly capable of being a badass in her 50s? For sure. But seeing her so desperate to appear younger, like one of the kidz, makes me uncomfortable and sorry for her.

| Madonna claims her Grammys flash was an 'inspired wardrobe malfunction' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Let?s be generous to poor Madonna. If Kanye West hadn?t Kanye?d all over the Grammys, we probably would have given more attention to Madge and her somewhat desperate need to be the most controversial person in the room. We talked about her, for sure, but I think it makes Madonna sick that Kanye was and is still a bigger ?controversy?. So Madge did an interview with Ryan Seacrest to talk about how she literally flashed her butt on the red carpet (NSFW photo here) and how we are living in The Golden Age of Butt so of course she had to ride that trend. Some highlights:
She claims she didn?t deliberately flash her butt: ?I had an inspired wardrobe malfunction moment. As I was walking away, I wasn’t mooning – I just lifted my dress up. Mooning is like naked butt. Everyone’s seen my naked butt already? not for a while, not since the ?90s?
The Age of Ass: ?It’s the age of ass, isn’t it? It was me having fun and being cheeky, no pun intended.?
Being in a harness for her Grammy performance: ?The one thing everyone forgot to do, was tell me when I could sit up [in the harness]. So, I’m laying back there, like forever in this super extreme back bend, hanging over the audience. I was like ‘Can I sit up now? Is the camera off of me? No one said, ?M you can sit up now? in my ears. It was the one moment everyone overlooked. Eventually, I sat up and was like ?Screw this, my back is killing me.??
Whether she?s got a boyfriend: ?Not really ? not a special, you know? Not a steady dude, no.?
Whether she would have remarry: ?I?m not going to say never, no. Maybe.?
[From The Daily Mail]
She?s so full of it if she?s trying to pretend like that flash was a ?wardrobe malfunction.? She literally stood in front of a bank of cameras on the music industry?s biggest night and flashed her butt as soon as she got on the red carpet. And that?s who she is at this point ? a 56 year old woman who meticulously plans out her stunt-queen moves to impress the kidz.

With almost four decades of pop music dominance under her belt, Madonna showed up onstage at the Staples Center during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards last night (February 8).
Following her matador-themed arrival on the red carpet, the ?Like a Virgin? songstress fought bulls and brought out a gospel choir for her performance of ?Living for Love? as the crowd cheered.
Madge?s appearance comes one year after she joined Macklemore and Ryan Lewis? rendition of ?Same Love? at the 2014 Grammys that culminated in the marriage of over 30 gay and lesbian couples.

| Madonna in Givenchy at the Grammys: matador realness or try-hard? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Let me start off with something nice about Madonna: her new face looks pretty good. I was genuinely worried because Madge hasn?t wanted us to see her new face in candid photos, and even on the Grammys red carpet last night, she was still wearing some netted hat to cover up some of her work. But we got a better look at her face and it moves and everything. Granted, she?s had MAJOR work done to her face and body over the past year or so, but it?s quality work, so good for her, I guess. Her girls look very new as well.
Madonna wore this Givenchy on the red carpet, and she wore Givenchy for her performance too. Ugh. None of the outfits were cute and she already did the matador thing like 20 years ago. Is Madge recycling? Perhaps. Madge also had a NSFW surprise with her red carpet outfit once you saw her from behind ? go here to see the NSFW photo.
So, let?s talk about Madge?s whole vibe last night, starting with the red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest. As she was talking, only Diplo was paying attention, because Nas looked SO embarrassed. Everything about Madonna just seemed like ?Look at me, I?m so young and ageless and I?m hip like all the kidz!!!? But what really made her seem flat-out OLD was her performance of her new single, ?Living For Love.?
I actually laughed out loud whenever Madonna tried to ?dance?. Her poor backup dancers, you guys. They were just throwing her around and trying to make it look like she was so flexible. And she wasn?t. She was moving so gingerly, like she was afraid she would break something (a very real possibility). I just want to ask her: what?s so wrong with just accepting your age? Is it really that horrible? There’s nothing so aging as trying so desperately to cling to one’s youth.
