Madonna had a night out in London on Thursday. She went to Mark?s Club party with photographers Mert & Marcus, plus she was celebrating Edward Enninful?s OBE. Like, maybe it was a twofer party or something? I have no idea. Kate Moss was there, as was Naomi Campbell. Madonna seemed drunk as hell ? although I don?t know if she really was ? and she was grinding up on a pole or something. Go here to see some photos.
Really, though, I just wanted to talk about these photos because I like to check in on Madonna?s facial work every so often. Last year was the big change, and I strongly suspect that Madge finally got a good quality plastic surgeon and/or filler-specialist who completely reworked her old (bad) work. Madonna 2015-16 has the face and skin of a newborn baby, healthy and fleshy and full. And in these photos, she looks especially ?full? right? It reminds me a little bit of when Nicole Kidman was overdoing it too, and her face got so frozen that it felt like her eyes were crossing from over-Botoxing. And much like Kidman, I think Madonna is WAY overdoing the lip injections.
Incidentally, considering Lady Gaga is in the midst of a full-blown promotional tour to promote her new album, I would have thought that Madonna would have more to say about Gaga, even if it?s just in response to Gaga?s bitchy little shade. So far though, Madonna has kept everything cryptic.

After the Met Gala, I read that Madonna based part of her look on the Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. Very forward-looking, right? Very ?future of fashion.? Considering the Game of Thrones hair, the exposed breasts and butt cheeks, the absolutely tragic frozen face and the unquenchable thirst, it would be easy to forget that Madonna actually didn?t even do anything with the theme. But that wasn?t the point, Madonna is now saying. Because she ?caused controversy? and got people?s attention for being ridiculous, Madonna took to Instagram (because she?s 16 years old) to ?defend? her Met Gala look. Madonna says that we?re all sexist and ageist.
We have fought and continue to fight for civil rights and gay rights around the world. When it comes to Women’s rights we are still in the dark ages. My dress at the Met Ball was a political statement as well as a fashion statement. The fact that people actually believe a woman is not allowed to express her sexuality and be adventurous past a certain age is proof that we still live in an age-ist and sexist society. I have never thought in a limited way and I’m not going to start. We cannot effect change unless we are willing to take risks By being fearless and By taking the road leas traveled by. Thats how we change history. If you have a problem with the way I dress it is simply a reflection of your prejudice. I’m not afraid to pave the way for all the girls behind me?? As Nina Simone once said, the definition of freedom is being fearless. I remain Unapologetic and a Rebel ?? in this life and all the others. Join my fight for Gender. Equality!

As the Twitter-handler for Nina Simone?s estate might say, ?Cool story but please take Nina Simone?s name out of your mouth. For the rest of your life.? I?ve actually been thinking too much about women?s choices and how every woman has the right to choose what she does with her body, how she wants to dress, how and when she wants to expose herself. I would never tell Madonna that she should not expose her body, or that she doesn?t have the right to make whatever choice she wants to make. But that?s not exactly Madonna?s complaint. She wants to make her choices and she?s bitching at us because we don?t find her choices compelling, interesting, sexy or groundbreaking. While I agree that ageism and sexism are very real in our society, Madonna?s butt cheeks are not the hill on which I want to die.

I?ve never been a die-hard Madonna fan. I liked her for many years, and if I have a reason to defend her, I will. But this current incarnation of Madonna is just really uncomfortable. Her appearance at the Met Gala was really messy, and when she tried to speak to the reporters, her face could barely function because she?s had so much work done. She?s clinging to her youth, absolutely. But even more than that, it?s like she?s clinging to this idea she has of herself, that she?s always going to be the most important, the most notable, the most scandalous and the most discussed person in the room. And is that the reality? People were discussing her Met Gala appearance, absolutely. But did she ?scandalize? anyone? Or were we just like, ?Oh, God. Please put it away?? Page Six says that Madonna and her people demanded that all other celebrities clear off the gala red carpet while Madonna strutted her butt cheeks. Ugh.
A-listers, make way for Madonna. The Queen of Pop, squeezed into a peculiar posterior-baring bondage outfit, halted the red carpet at the Met Gala for her arrival.
A source tells us, ?Madonna cleared the red carpet to make her big entrance, even though she was not really dressed. All these A-listers had to wait for Madonna, who insisted on having the carpet to herself, to have her pictures taken.?
Those held up and forced to wait on line while Madge did her thing included Katy Perry, Kim and Kanye, Naomi Campbell, Solange and all the designers. The source added that things got funny when Perry got impatient and started yelling out at limelight-loving Madonna, ?Are we ready now? Can we go??

Madonna making Kanye West wait is? appropriate. But pulling ?rank? like that at the Met Gala is just so cheesy, especially in Madonna?s situation these days (her Sad Clown act) and especially considering her Givenchy ensemble was absolutely ridiculous.
Oh, and Joan Collins (of all people) had some mean words to say about Madonna:
?I thought it was a costume party, Halloween look, but it?s the Met Ball which is supposedly one of the most glamorous and fashionable events and I thought that the bottom thing coming out was a bit over the top? I am the least ageist person? if you want to do that, be prepared to be made a figure of fun because I don?t know anybody who hasn?t been laughing about it.?

Is this how Madonna ?scandalizes? these days? By being the joke, by being laughed at, by being thought of as out-of-touch? It?s almost enough to make me feel sorry for her. But then I look at these photos ? where Madonna looked like she was soaking up the flashes ? and I don?t feel sorry for her.

Much like Lady Gaga (in more ways than one), you can always count on Madonna to be a hot mess at any given point. Particularly over the past six months or so, Madge has been particularly messy. Madonna was chosen by Riccardo Tisci to wear Givenchy last night. Beyonce also wore Givenchy, and I believe that they were the only two. While Bey got a latex-rash dress, Madonna got the lace butt-cheek dress. When are we going to acknowledge that Riccardo Tisci doesn?t know what he?s doing? As for Madonna in particular, she spoke to E! on the carpet and it was SO MESSY. She?s had so much work to her face, she can barely speak properly.
I feel bad for doing this to Tory Burch?s ladies, but none of them are noteworthy enough to get their own post, thus they have to share with Madonna?s butt cheeks. Emma Roberts, Freida Pinto and Mindy Kaling all wore Tory Burch to the Met Gala. Emma looks bratty (per usual), but Mindy and Freida look lovely. I actually think this is the prettiest dress Mindy has ever worn on any red carpet, ever.

Madonna tried nearly everything to get her son Rocco to come back home. She tried motherly passive-aggression. She tried to get Rocco?s father arrested. She tried various legal tricks. She tried to play the messy, public drunk so that Rocco would come home and ?take care? of her. She tried to make her case in the press. All of it for naught. It was only when she finally started talking to her #RebelHeart son that she started to get somewhere. And now Madonna is back in London, and she?s seeing Rocco regularly ? he?s been going between his dad?s house and Madonna?s house for the past few days. Last night, Madonna tried something new: outright bribery! ?Rocco, if you come back, I?ll start treating you like an adult and I?ll take you to the Chiltern Firehouse!? And that?s just what she did. These are photos from outside the Chiltern Firehouse last night.
What do you think of the bribery-style of parenting? The thing is, it?s not that different from what Guy Ritchie has been doing ? he?s been treating Rocco like an adult and letting him make his own decisions too. And Rocco has been making typical choices for a 15-year-old kid ? he wants to party, he wants to maybe smoke a little pot, he wants to hang out with friends, and he wants to go to the Chiltern. Is this Madonna trying to be a ?cool parent? too?
Madonna and Rocco were also spotted out seeing the theatre production You Me Bum Bum Train and going to the movies. A source said:
?Since Madonna’s return to London, things have taken a definite turn for the better. Guy dropped Rocco at his mum’s and they had a good chat before he went off to skate with his friends. Everyone is happier than they have been for weeks and it’s great for all of them that life is getting back to normal.”

As we discussed yesterday, Madonna?s Rebel Heart tour hasreportedly gone off the rails. The stories about Madonna?s messiness did not come from random tabloid sources though. All of the British papers and Australian papers (Madonna was a particular disaster in Melbourne) have been covering it. TMZ had video, and many, many fans have been complaining. The complaints involved: Madonna being drunk during her shows, Madonna swilling tequila on stage, Madonna falling off tricycles, Madonna making pleas for someone to help her or f?k her or take care of her. Plus, Madonna keeps showing up late for performances. Reportedly, at least one of her Australian shows started FOUR HOURS late.
But all of those stories are crap, Madonna says. She still believes that any time any media outlet or fan criticizes her, it?s sexism and misogyny (except Madonna can’t spell misogyny). Madonna posted this Instagram of a Madge-loonie defending her honor, and Madge wrote words too:
Thanks for supporting me. Too bad people don't know the art of acting and playing a character. I could never do any of my shows high or drunk. And yes underlying all of this is sexism and mysongony which proves that not only do we not get equal pay bUt we are still treated like heretics if we step out of line and think outside the box! . February 3rd. Keep that date in mind. That will be the day that Madonna, Guy Ritchie, Rocco Ritchie and their lawyers all meet up in a New York court to hash out the major Teenage Dramz that is Rocco?s custodial arrangement. Until February 3rd rolls around, Team Madge and Team Guy are going to be lobbing insults and planting stories in media outlets far and wide. They?ve already started, because of course they have. For every TMZ plant, there?s an Us Weekly plant. For every Daily Mirror plant, there?s a People Magazine plant. And on and on. This is more about Guy and Madonna than Rocco, I fear.
Anyway, People Magazine?s story today is sort of a recap of what we heard yesterday, that Madge is a slave to her children?s education and she?s going crazy because Rocco is not in school in NYC right now. People?s sources say Rocco still has not returned to NYC and he will not be returning until the February 3rd court date. A source tells People that Rocco has already missed several days of school: “He should have been home already. Madonna is a devoted mother, and a big priority is her children’s education.” My question is still: why can?t Rocco go to school in London? There are plenty of good schools in England, and if he wanted to continue with his Lyce Franais education, there?s another Lyce Franais school IN LONDON. Meanwhile, the British papers have more dirt (Team Ritchie is working overtime):
His parents are reportedly preparing for a custody fight over his living arrangements. And now as Madonna and Guy Ritchie gear up for court, further details have emerged about 15-year-old Rocco’s alleged fights with his superstar mother. The teen quit Madonna’s Rebel Heart tour a month ago, according to insiders speaking to The Mirror, with the final straw coming as the 57-year-old reportedly took his mobile phone away.
‘Madonna is quite firm with Rocco and she took his phone from him when it interfered with his studies,’ the source claims. ‘She is stricter than Guy and Rocco doesn’t like it. When she took the phone away, it pushed him over the edge.’
Rocco is said to have left the tour a month ago and refused to return to his mother with Guy said to have hired a lawyer in preparation for a legal battle to continue care of his son. The teen is alleged to prefer his ‘normal family life’ with his filmmaker Guy, stepmum Jacqui Ainsley and their three young children, spending weekends at Guy’s Grade II listed Ashcombe House in Wiltshire. An insider told The Sun: ‘When Rocco is in England he gets to live a low-key life. He can go about his business and talk to girls without paparazzi stalking him.’
Meanwhile, friends believe the Material Girl singer – who split from Guy in 2008 – wasn’t pleased when her ex married model Jacqui in August.
‘She was unhappy that Jacqui had cemented her role in Rocco’s affections’, a source told the paper.

As if there was any doubt about this whole thing being absolutely normal teenage drama. The breaking point was about his PHONE!! GOD, MOM. You just don?t understand you don?t get it I hate you I?m going to live with dad he understands me no one will ever understand my pain because my phone is everything to me. As for the Jacqui Ainsley situation? um, I believe it. Jacqui and Rocco seem close. And that probably pisses off Madonna.

When Guy Ritchie and Madonna started to fall apart in 2008, it became clear very quickly that there was no love lost. Both of them played to the media, and Guy ?won.? You can blame sexism, you can say that Guy had a better publicist, you can say that everyone loves it when an important woman fails. Personally, I don?t care. I?m not a huge fan of either of them and I?m not going to act as an apologist for either of them. Guy ended up getting a large settlement from Madonna, and after all was said and done with their divorce, it didn?t seem like they had very much to do with each other. Madonna went on the record several times over the years about how miserable she felt during that marriage and she slammed Guy several times. Guy never really put his name on anything insulting towards her.
Skip ahead seven years and here we are. Madonna and Guy about to engage in yet another battle royale over the custodial arrangement of their 15-year-old son Rocco. From where I?m sitting, it very much seems like a redux of their divorce battle ? both camps (Camp Madge and Camp Guy) are throwing out accusations in the media and salt is being poured into old wounds. Yesterday, TMZ seemed to get a leak from Camp Guy:
Guy Ritchie and 15-year-old Rocco have formed a united front, and plan to wage a custody war against Madonna … sources connected with Guy tell TMZ. Our sources say Rocco has not softened his position … he now wants to live with his dad. We’re told Rocco feels his mom is “too controlling” and doesn’t pay him any real attention. It’s now been a month since he left Madonna’s tour to live with his dad, and he feels more strongly than ever he wants to stay put.
We’re told Rocco, like his dad, feels home life in London is more stable and loving. It’s no longer just that Rocco doesn’t like touring with his mom … he says he just doesn’t want to live with her anymore. We’re told Guy has hired a lawyer to mount a legal fight.
As we reported, our Madonna sources say Guy has gotten in Rocco’s ear and is talking trash about her. The two have had a rocky co-parenting experience, often fighting. A New York judge has ordered Rocco back in the U.S. for a hearing in February.

The Madonna Apologists will say that this is Guy?s consistent M.O. over the years, to paint her as a control-freak who is out-of-touch with her own children, that she?s a workaholic who cares more about her tours than her children. The thing is? I actually believe that she is that person. I?m not saying Guy is a prince of a man, but just because this is coming from Guy?s camp, doesn?t mean it should be dismissed out of hand. Meanwhile, Us Weekly has an ?exclusive? from Madonna?s camp.
“Madonna has been actively doing all she can to get her son Rocco Ritchie home and back to school in New York,” the source tells Us. A U.S. court judge has ruled that both Guy and Rocco must return to the U.S. in order to discuss future custody arrangements. The insider close to the situation further alleges that Ritchie is “interfering” with Rocco’s education. The teen currently attends high school in NYC.
“Rocco, along with Madonna?s other three children, have never been away from her for any extended period of time until daughter Lourdes went away to college last year,” the source continues. “Madonna, who lost her own mother at a very young age, has always made her children?s education a priority along with their well-being.”
According to the insider, this is the longest Rocco has ever been away from Madonna since she and Ritchie divorced after eight years of marriage in November 2008. “The only time the children have not been with Madonna was when her sons Rocco and David visit Ritchie in the U.K. as part of a custody order mutually agreed to eight years ago,” the source tells Us.

Um, they have schools in London? And earlier reporting on Rocco?s education claimed that he attended Lyce Franais in New York, and there are Lyce Franais schools all around the world, even in London (gasp!). I?m just saying? I doubt Guy Ritchie is all ?Rocco never has to go to school again!? And where was Madonna?s concern for Rocco?s education when she was dragging him around the world on her Rebel Heart tour?

Madonna has always been known as a type-A perfectionist. That?s what has made her increasingly frequent public failures that much funnier: we know that Madonna is beating herself up because nothing went smoothly. Stories about Madonna?s perfectionism extend to every aspect of her life, which of course includes her current Rebel Heart Tour. And according to Radar, Madonna?s Rebel Heart crew has had ENOUGH.
Madonna has never been known for being demure, but insiders close to her Rebel Heart Tour preparation tell RadarOnline.com that her diva behavior has really crossed the line! With the 56-year-old?s latest tour set to kick off on September 9, it?s crunch time, and insiders say she is cracking under the pressure.
?Madonna is a real piece of work,? one insider told Radar. ?On Monday night, the dancers declared mutiny on Madonna because she is working them way too hard. One dancer even went so far as to take off his credentials, throw it in her face and say, ?F*ck you. I quit!’ She had to call security to protect her and escort her remaining dancers out!?
?On another occasion, one of her dancers broke her arm during rehearsals and instead of showing concern, Madonna had a nuclear meltdown,? the insider claimed. ?Everyone is required to wear black head-to-toe at all times and she has said, in her own words, that there are ?no fat c*nts allowed in her presence.’?
A second source close to production echoed the concerns of the first.
?This is by far the biggest production she has ever done,? the insider told Radar. ?She is more demanding for this upcoming tour than she ever has been and wants everything done now. Madonna seems to expect everyone to drop every other project that they are working on to cater to her and make her tour their only priority in life. The problem is that she does not pay very well, but she knows that people that she hires will work countless hours at less than premium wage because she is Madonna.?
The source added, ?Her ego is so over-inflated and she thinks that her staff are lucky to be in her presence. She been a complete nightmare to work for and the tour has not even started yet.?

Madonna has a complicated history at the Met Gala. She used to attend and be the most popular person there. Then something changed, and all of the cool girls kind of rolled their eyes at Madonna. But Madge still comes back. I think she was probably grateful that she didn?t have to avoid Gwyneth Paltrow this year (Goop didn?t come). Madge also tried something new this year: an attempt at dressing somewhat appropriately. She wore this Moschino gown reading ?Rebel Heart? (because that doesn?t get old, I guess). Her date was Diplo and Madge made an effort to hang out with the cool kids, like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kimye. She posted Instagrams the whole night, defying the ?no selfies? rule.
More photos? Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli Couture, Spring 2015. I?m sorry, but this is so funny to me. Allison fancies herself some kind of major fashionista and this is what she ended up wearing? Hahahaha.
Livia Firth wore a custom-made Antonio Berardi, made from recycled plastic bottles. Seriously! Livia is always trying to sign people up for wearing eco-friendly or recycled clothing. I think she was the only one doing eco-wear this year though. I think this is on-theme, albeit slightly boring. Still, she?s elegant and so is her lovely husband. I love them.
Alicia Keys in Gaultier, with Gaultier. It doesn?t really feel like it?s on-theme, and yet? I kind of like this. I think Alicia was the only one wearing Gaultier too, so she stood out.
