Despite some rumors that Madonna was going to give her new daughter Mercy time to adjust /a> to the upheavals and trauma of moving in with a new family, Madonna seems back on her self-absorbed track. According to The Sun?s sources, Madonna is planning on taking Mercy with her for three months of her Sticky & Sweet tour, then they will fly to Jerusalem so Madge can introduce her daughter to Kabbalah. Because that?s how it works in Madge?s mind - her celebrity-cult version of Kabbalah is exactly the same as the Kabbalah practiced by Jewish scholars and mystics in Israel, and exposing Mercy to the Wailing Wall will somehow link up (in little Mercy?s mind) to mommy?s Kabbalah center in New York.
Baby Mercy is a very lucky little girl.
No sooner has she landed in Britain from Malawi than her mum Madonna is planning the tot’s first holiday.
Madge wants to treat her new daughter and son DAVID BANDA to a trip to see the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Not your typical week in Majorca building sandcastles, then.
The Queen Of Pop sees the jaunt as an ideal way to introduce Mercy to Kabbalah, the mystical Jewish faith which she has practised for the last ten years.
The holiday is being planned to coincide with Madonna’s final date on her Sticky And Sweet tour in Tel Aviv in three months.
A source said: “Madonna wants to give Mercy enough time to settle in to her new home. By September she feels she will be ready to take the trip without danger of upheaval.?
“The Wailing Wall is a very sacred place for anyone with links to the Jewish faith and she wants all the children to see it.”
Meanwhile, in London, Madonna’s pal STELLA McCARTNEY is busy organising a party to mark Mercy’s arrival.
I get the impression this little girl is going to be spoilt rotten. And why not?

Mercy looks totally scared and bewildered, and perhaps Mercy?s adjustment period should be without all of Madonna?s sycophantic friends and without any cults. Just for now. Last Friday, Madonna officially won her appeal in Malawi?s courts, ensuring that toddler Mercy James will be Madonna?s legal daughter within a matter of days. People reported that Madonna was overjoyed with the news, and that she was preparing a private jet to pick up Mercy from Malawi at some point. Now The Daily Mail is reporting on some of what has been going on behind the scenes in Malawi - and I?m a little shocked. That?s right. Something Madonna has done has shocked me.
It seems that after Madonna lost the adoption hearing back in April, Madge sort of knew that the initial denial wasn?t the end of the story. Not only did she have her lawyers prepare for the appeal, Madonna had Mercy?s care transferred out of the orphanage Mercy was living, and Madge had Mercy put into the care of a woman named Lois Silo, who is the coordinator of Raising Malawi (Madonna?s charity with the sketchy financials). Mercy has been living with Lois and her husband since April, and Madge also had Mercy placed in a private nursery school. In both the Silo home and the nursery school, Mercy was learning English, and taught ?Western manners?. That’s not the only Raising Malawi connection, though. The rumor going around is that in the past few months, Madonna has spread around $1.5 million, funneled through Raising Malawi:
[Monday], according to Madonna?s lawyer, the singer or one of her close aides will arrive to collect the girl. But Mercy will have less than three weeks with her new mother before she departs for a seven-week European tour, beginning on July 4.
During the long wait for the court?s decision it appears Madonna left nothing to chance.
Mercy has been hidden away, ready to pack instantly if the adoption went Madonna?s way. The girl, who used to live in an orphanage, was taken to a luxury bungalow on the day in April when Madonna left the country in tears after her first attempt at adoption failed.
The house, belonging to Lois Silo, programme co-ordinator of Madonna?s charity Raising Malawi, is behind blue gates in a discreet suburb of the capital Lilongwe, called Area 47.
According to local sources, Mrs Silo and her husband have been caring for Mercy, helping her to speak English and teaching her Western manners. Each morning she has been driven to the nearby Cherub nursery, a privately run fee-paying school. There she plays with other Malawian children who knew nothing of her special status until they heard on Friday that she was leaving the country.
Her teacher Bridget Kawiya said yesterday: ?The staff and teachers are amazed. We had no idea this was the girl who Madonna wanted. She was registered under a different name and we knew her as Chifundo Moyo.?
Mercy went to school most days with her hair in bunches, decorated with colourful ribbons. Her favourite school-bag was bright Pink with a Barbie motif. Classes ended before noon and she would be taken home again where a nanny or cook made lunch for her before an afternoon nap, some children?s TV, then playtime, supper and an early night.
Mercy, a natural chatterbox, would run into school in the mornings to talk to her friends in Chichewa until corrected by teachers who encourage all the children to speak in English.
?That is important,? said Mrs Kawiya. ?English is the official language and you need it to make a good career. We had no idea that Mercy would need it more than the others if she is going to live in New York. At our end-of-term ceremony in July we had planned that Mercy, who is so clever, would introduce herself and others from her group in French. Of course, now that isn?t going to happen. We are sorry to lose her.?
On Friday night a driver picked up Mercy from the Silos? household and took her to Kumbali Lodge, the guesthouse where Madonna stays when in Malawi. There a Raising Malawi team from America was waiting.
Already familiar with life at the Lodge ? she spent three weeks there during the first court hearing in April ? Mercy tucked into supper and sought out the staff?s children who had become her friends on a previous visit.
She is expected to be flown by private jet to Johannesburg, then to New York to join Madonna?s daughter Lourdes, 12, son Rocco, eight, and David Banda, three, the Malawian orphan adopted two years ago.

I can understand the teaching Mercy English, and it doesn?t sound like Mercy, or any other child, is punished if they don?t speak in English, so I?m giving that a pass. What bothers me is the larger issue - if Madonna lost the initial legal battle to adopt Mercy, how was that she could arrange to have this child - a little girl she had no legal ties to - moved into a private home, make school arrangements, and basically keep the little girl in hiding?
Many of those charities who were initially protesting the adoption are more concerned about Mercy?s transition from Malawian life to Madge?s palaces. Also, a lot of people seem concerned that Madonna will be heading off on tour in less than a month:
In spite of Mercy?s apparent happiness, charities fear she could face problems adapting to her new life.
Maxwell Matewere, of Malawi?s Eye of the Child group, said: ?It?s hard to say how much damage may have been done to a girl who?s been moved from pillar to post because of one woman?s determination to have her. Her first days were with her schoolgirl mother who then died, and she spent three years in an orphanage.?
?For the past two months she has been living like no other Malawian child, surrounded by toys and a bewildering array of luxury. We are pleased if she finds happiness in her new life, but we cannot approve of the stress she has already suffered.?
Others have accused Madonna of virtually bribing Malawi?s lawmakers and child protection officers into giving her what she wants by donating a reported 1.5million to the country through Raising Malawi.
But her lawyer Allan Chinula said: ?It is a total fabrication to say that Madonna poured money into Malawi for the purposes of being able to adopt a child.?

Though she doesn?t deserve it, I?m giving Madonna the benefit of the doubt. Surely, she has a good reason to not pick up Mercy herself. Surely she will make arrangements for Mercy while she tours. Surely Madonna will hire some of sort of tutor/translator so Mercy will still be able to communicate in the language she has heard all of her life.

If you couldn’t tell by the wild cackling coming from Madonna’s home, the Malawian Supreme Court has officially ruled in favor of Madonna’s application for adopting Mercy James. Travel arrangements still need to be made, but Madonna should be getting her baby in three to five days. Rush delivery costs extra.
In the near future, rich people will be able to do all this online. They’ll have a list of babies you can choose from with videos and you can just check off the ones you want and then pay with PayPal. It’d be less of a hassle. Why should famous people have to fly to some third world country just to buy a kid. We’re in a recession.

Madonna’s appeal of her rejected adoption bid was approved this morning by the Malawi High Court. From Us Weekly:
On Friday, Malawi’s highest court ruled that Madonna can adopt a second child — 3-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James — from the African country.
A lower court had denied Madonna’s bid to adopt in April, claiming she had not spent enough time in the country.
But in Friday’s one-hour ruling, Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo praised Madonna’s commitment to helping disadvantaged children and slammed “old laws” that prevented first adoption attempts.
“The matter of residence should be determined at the time of application of the adoption,” Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo said. “In this case, Madonna was in Malawi not by chance but by intention. She is looking after several orphans whose welfare depends on her. She can therefore not be described as a sojourner.”
He later added: “Every child has the right to love.”
Uh huh. Loved. Suuuuuuuure. Because Madonna is such a loving mother. This poor little girl is doomed. DOOMED, I say! If she grows up to be even remotely attractive, Madonna might snap and seal her behind a brick wall or something. But probably not before harvesting her organs in an effort to capture eternal youth, so I guess there’s always that to look forward to.

Last we left Madonna, her attempted adoption of Mercy from Malawi was blocked by a judge who cited an outdated law that she hadn’t lived in the state for 18 months and therefore couldn’t adopt. She’s been appealing the decision ever since and now she’s finally going to get that baby.
“The paperwork is being typed up now.
“All recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place. Mercy should start packing her bags. She’s off to America.”
A close friend of Madonna said: “She’s ecstatic.
“She made a promise that she wouldn’t give up on Mercy and, believe me, she could move mountains when she’s this determined.”
This is great. Another African baby for her collection. One that she will pay a nanny to love and cherish while every once in a treating it to her cold, hard embrace. Being hugged by Madonna must feel like being grabbed by that claw you win stuffed animals with.

Madonna was devastated to learn that the Malawian high court denied her adoption bid for three year-old Mercy James in early April. (Mercy could be four at this point, the reports differ.) Madonna appealed the decision but it was unknown whether she would be successful given how she flouted the country’s adoption laws. Malawian law states that adoptive parents must reside in the country for at least 18 months, and Madonna made no attempt to live in Malawi even after the adoption was denied. The 50 year-old pop singer is also single, and the courts favor married couples. Three year-old Mercy James also has a living father and a grandmother who have both spoken out against the girl being adopted and removed from the country.
All of those details were mere ignored formalities to Madonna and she’s still pushing forward with the adoption. According to The Sun, Madonna has “convinced” all three appeal judges to approve the adoption and it will be rubber stamped over the weekend. I wonder how much she paid out in bribes. Brazilian model Jesus Luz, 22, may have caught the interest of pop star Madonna, 50, for somewhat less superficial reasons than we all assumed. Luz bears a close resemblance to Madonna’s ex, Carlos Leon, and he also shares her interest in the mystical Jewish-based cult Kabbalah. According to the NY Post, Luz was studying Kabbalah at the insistence of his then-girlfriend at least six months before he met Madonna. It looks like his ex-girlfriend did all the heavy lifting and Madonna swooped in for the already-converted prize:
She’s always liked them hot, young and Latin, but Madonna’s latest boy toy has another special charm — he was a Kabbalist before they even met.
Jesus Luz, 22, immersed himself in the religion while he was still a struggling model in Rio de Janeiro. Since the late 1990s, Madonna has been an avid follower of the movement, which stems from Jewish mysticism and equates God to a ray of light.
“Madonna must have thought she met God when she found Jesus,” said a Kabbalah devotee in New York, noting that “Jesus Luz” translates from Portuguese as “Jesus Light.”
Leonardo Reis, manager of the Kabbalah Center in Rio, helped Luz with his studies starting in July 2008, six months before Jesus met Madonna.
“All I can say to you is that Madonna is really, really happy with Jesus,” Reis said. “When she found out he was into Kabbalah, they really started to hit it off.”
Reis organized a special Shabbat dinner for the couple and their friends after they met at a Rio photo shoot last December. The dinner, complete with lit candles and guests clothed in white, was held at sunset in Madonna’s luxe suite at the Copacabana Palace Hotel with its stunning views of the Atlantic.
Spirituality has always been a part of Luz’s life. His mother, Cristiane Regina da Silva, 37, is a member of the “Evangelicals,” a growing Protestant cult movement in Brazil. His father, an administrator at a public hospital in the Rio suburbs, says he decided to name his son Jesus because he admired the philosophy of Christ.

I was really hoping this relationship was a mutual publicity stunt as it’s just too creepy to imagine Madonna with a kid 28 years her junior. It’s also skeevy when an older man snares a much-younger woman, but there’s something about Madonna that makes her seem so predatory. Model Jesus is probably thrilled to be along for the ride. He’s said to command six figures and up for fashion show appearances and just shot ads for Dolce & Gabbana. In comparison, he made just $100 for the two day shoot for W Magazine through which he met the pop star.
Last week there was a story that Jesus’ father claimed that Madonna and his son would marry in some kind of legally non-binding Kabbalah commitment ceremony. Madonna’s people denied that anything was in the works, but they also denied her first adoption of David Banda up until it was complete. I wonder how Madonna’s bid to adopt Mercy is going. Young people are so easy to trick. All you need for them to bend to your will is to have something they want like power and fame or candy. Madonna has the former so it was only a matter of time before she was able to trick her new boyfriend Jesus Luz into a fake marriage and convert into Judaism. Luis Heitor Pinto da Luz, Jesus’ father, told Quem magazine:
“The kabbalah ceremony [in New York that] will link up my son Jesus Luz and Madonna only confirms that he is extremely happy.”
“I don’t know if there will, in fact, be a real marriage between Madonna and my son. It will be a type of ritual, but I do not know kabbalah [or if the ceremony] will have legal validity,” says Luis, who doesn’t seem upset that his evangelically raised son, a model, is converting to the branch of Judaism.
Sounds about right. Madonna’s adoption fell through so she needs to find some other child to suck the soul from. It’s how Madonna maintains her youthful appearance. If she doesn’t do this, she’ll look like a gnarled oak tree. More so than she does now.

What would you do if your 22 year-old son was going to marry a 50 year-old woman, even if it was just symbolic? Would you jump for joy because the bitch is rich and famous, or would you worry that your young son is being taken advantage of?
Jesus Luz’s dad supposedly confirmed to a Brazilian magazine that his son is set to wed Madonna in a non-legally binding Kabbalah commitment ceremony. He sounds nonplussed about the whole thing, saying that it’s some kind of ritual but he doesn’t know if it’s like a real marriage at all. That should be a relief, although it reduces Jesus’ chances of cashing in. Jesus’ dad also says it’s not true that his son is taking English lessons because he already speaks English well, thank you very much. He does sort-of confirm what Kaiser said earlier this week - that Jesus is a glorified baby sitter:

The young stud has also been playing surrogate manny to Madge’s kids, says papa Luz. “She has small children, and Jesus helps her out with various tasks involving all of them. He plays ball with the kids. Jesus has charisma and loves children.”
Whatever the nature of their post-ceremony relationship, Jesus’ dad heartily approves of his son’s choice in women.
“I’ve spoken by phone with Madonna - in French, because my English is not fluent - and she appears to me to be a normal and polite person,” he says. “She is feminine. I don’t feel she is a harsh person.”
We hate to inform you of the facts, Mr. Luz: Madonna may be a lot of things, but feminine she ain’t!

Maybe that’s why Madonna fired Davie’s nanny - she had enough help from her live-in boy toy. Also, this is the first I’ve heard that Madonna can speak French and that’s kind of surprising to me.
I guess it’s true then and Madonna and Jesus are going to have some type of “we’re together as long as it’s convenient for both of us” religious ritual. She’s not a stupid woman, and she’s not about to put her vast fortune at risk for some young stud. She’s also going to ensure that he sticks around for as long as possible and having him declared her Kabbalah life partner or whatever should help achieve that. Good for her I guess, but I still can’t help but cringe at the thought of the two of them together.

Never mind their ultra-Catholic monikers - Madonna and toyboy lover Jesus Luz are reportedly planning on sealing the deal Kabbalah style!
The Mirror report the pair are planning a Kabbalah commitment ceremony in New York, with Jesus ditching his Catholic faith in favour of his sugar mama’s religion of choice.
He’s been snapped going to Kabbalah classes since the start of the year, and has been a massive support to Madge lately - she’s said to be shattered after her failed bid to adopt three-year-old Malawi tot Mercy James.
The pair were rumoured to have split during Madge’s adoption attempt, but apparently they were just chilling out on the relationship side of things while Madonna concentrated on trying to adopt the little girl.
?They are totally besotted with each other and he?s really helped Madonna through this tough time,” a source told The Mirror of Jesus and Madonna’s lurve.
“It wasn?t that the relationship went off the boil, it was more a matter of Madonna wanting to concentrate on her adoption bid of Mercy and they wanted to keep a low profile while that became the main focus.?
