Out enjoying the beautiful fall weather in Boston, Massachusetts, Jennifer Garner and daughters, Violet and Seraphina were spotted taking a walk earlier today (October 31).
The ladies looked to be having a marvelous time together- talking and laughing as they strolled down the street.
Father and husband, Ben Affleck, has been in Boston plugging away on his latest project, “The Town” with his ladies often visiting him on set.
In other news, Jen recently talked about what she hopes to instill in her daughters.
She told press, “It’s so important to me that they grow up with a healthy self-esteem, confidence and knowing just where to kick if they need to! You want to set the best example you can for them in every way. You want them to grow up and be proud of you.”

Always the lovely pair, Jennifer Garner was spotted out with daughter Violet Affleck for a morning stroll in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday (October 12).
The pair are in town while husband and father, Ben Affleck, films and directs his latest movie titled “The Town”.
And while she’s certainly enjoying her time off, Jen recently told press that she’s pondering the idea of a return to TV.
“I never say never to TV because it has been really good for me,” she said. “I am not a snob about work. The great thing about TV is you can stay in one place.
“Eventually my kids aren’t going to want to be living all over the place. Television would allow us to settle down.”

Getting the day underway, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner toted their two little girls out to breakfast in Cambridge on Sunday morning (October 11).
The family of four got their grub on at a local cafe, with Jen also enjoying a stroll around Beantown with 8-month-old Seraphina.
On the east coast while Ben works on “The Town,” Jen recently confessed that her man is a bit too slow-paced as a director for her to want to work with him.
She tells: “He is not the world’s fastest director, and I like to get in and do my work and go home and put the kids to bed. I’m afraid there would be this moment where I would say, ‘OK. You’ve got it. I promise you it is in the can. I’ve got to go home.’ “

Jennifer Garner has an interview with Parade Magazine that was published earlier this week, but it’s new to me and there’s not a lot going on so we’ll cover it. We have this understanding between the writers that Thursdays generally suck for news, (with Wednesdays a close second, forgive us all the Gosselin and Kardashian coverage yesterday) but I try not to harp on it too much. Just keep it in mind and cut us some slack on those days.
Anyway Garner gave a cute interview in which she talked about what she enjoys in life and how she gets by as a busy mom. Kaiser tends to think that Garner is too goody-goody to be true, but I’m also a mom in my 30s and I can relate to her. I think she is an authentic person trying to do the best job she can and that she handles it all with grace. More celebrities should be like Garner, who never seems to get caught up in the glamor but still radiates it on the red carpet.
In this interview with Parade, Garner reveals how her upbringing influenced her and describes how she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. She doesn’t make it seem easier than it is, though, and admits that things can get harried in her family and that sometimes she’s exhausted and needs help:
Tips for working moms.
“Good luck! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You should try to get help wherever you can. Don’t guilt yourself, it doesn’t help. Do anything you can to try to save time with the dumb stuff around the house so you can be with your kids as much as you can. And put your BlackBerry down and just be with them.”
How physical stunts prepared her for motherhood.
“Alias set me up in a good way for motherhood because I did run on no sleep for so long and I did push myself so hard. Everybody talked about how hard the sleep thing was with babies and I thought ‘Oh, this isn’t that bad! You’re sleeping some!’ But it’s never-ending. There’s never a weekend or there’s never a night, that’s what’s harsh. On Alias at least I had to stay in shape for my job so it was just part of my day no matter what. Now finding that hour for myself is much harder to find. I have to do it before they’re awake.”
Taking advice from mom.
“My mom is full of good advice. She always says, ‘Happiness is your own responsibility.’ And she always says, ‘Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.’ That’s what she would tell us after every breakup or anytime you did poorly on something. Most of our little bites of advice as kids came from either Little House on the Prairie or Anne of Green Gables.”
Finding inspiration at home.
“My mom was really vigorous about making sure that we saw things and that we questioned things. Education was so important to both of my parents. My mom grew up in poverty in Oklahoma — like Dust Bowl, nine people in one room kind of place — and the way she got out of poverty was through education. My dad grew up without a dad, with very little and he also made his way out through education. So it’s always been emphasized in my house. There’s so much missed opportunity with all of these kids all across the country who aren’t getting what they need to do well in school and once you don’t do well in school you don’t want to go to school. So it’s a cycle in our country that’s very sobering.”
Mom by day, red carpet stunner by night.
“If you look at the pictures taken every day of my life you’ll see that I do not make it work by far most of the time! I am in jeans that are on the floor from last night and one of the five t-shirts that I rotate. I do know moms who pull it together every day, I am not one of them. But when I do, I try to really pull it together so it makes some kind of impact. Sometimes for yourself you just need to take a shower, put on something clean, put on a little blush and go out the door.”
Whipping up some home cooking.
“I make really homey food. Just the other night I did a roast chicken with butternut squash and brown sugar. And I did brown rice and some roasted broccoli. I make a wheat pizza once a week. When my daughter is the hungriest, that’s when I try to have vegetables out for her to snack on while I’m finishing dinner. So I don’t start with putting her favorite thing in front of her, I start with putting some snap peas or broccoli with dip or carrots to get her going. I rarely do take-out. I like to be in charge of what we eat. I’m a control freak that way!”
Raising kids in the spotlight.
“I feel like they have a very normal upbringing. It’s too bad that there aren’t laws that protect their privacy, but that’s a whole other thing. They do have things that are really exciting for them and strange for them, I’m sure. Like living in a different place for a while then going back home. But kids have that with parents with all different jobs so I try not to look at it as something that is a problem. But kids are kids, they think whatever goes on in their lives is normal and I think that my kids’ lives are pretty normal.”
What she hopes to pass on to her daughters.
“It’s so important to me that they grow up with a healthy self-esteem, confidence and knowing just where to kick if they need to! You want to set the best example you can for them in every way. You want them to grow up and be proud of you.”
Her perfect day.
“A little hair and makeup! No, my perfect day is a day where I have a little bit of time with each kid and then we all play together. Where I make dinner where there’s enough left over for another day. And if the day ends with a glass of wine and a conversation with my husband, that’s a good day.”

Garner only briefly mentioned that she hopes to protect her daughters’ privacy, and she’s spoken about this issue before. In May, she explained that the paparazzi regularly yell at her older daughter Violet, three, to try and get a reaction and explained “When we go to preschool, there are so many paparazzi there that they are knocking kids on the heads with cameras and knocking them down.” The fact that Garner has not once lashed out at the paparazzi and that she hardly mentions this very real threat to her family is a testament to what a patient person she is. From what I can tell Garner and Affleck don’t even have a bodyguard, even though she’s had to deal with a longterm stalker. Maybe they should get a burly guy or two to fend off the photographers, but they’re probably just striving to keep things as normal as possible for their daughters.
Like Garner, I also love to cook, and there is a real joy in finding a recipe and making nice something for your family. The more I hear from Garner, the more I like her. She’s a rarity in Hollywood and I wish both her and her husband Ben a lot of success in the future.

Continuing about with a busy day in the Big Apple, Jennifer Garner was out in support of the “Make Time for Change” campaign in New York City on Thursday (September 24).
Teaming up with Frigidaire, the former “Alias” actress is hoping to raise support for Save the Children as she spoke at the event held at Gary’s Loft.
“I am proud to be the ambassador for the Frigidaire ‘Make Time for Change’ campaign to help give the littlest Americans the best start possible,” Jen said to the crowd.
Fresh off of an appearance on the Martha Stewart show earlier in the morning, the 37-year-old added, “There is nothing more important to our future than protecting theirs.”

Giving a cheerful wave to paparazzi, Jennifer Garner was hot on the promotional trail this morning (September 24) in New York City.
Paying a visit to Martha Stewart, the former “Alias” actress has been busily boosting interest in her upcoming film, “The Invention of Lying,” which hits theaters tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Jen recently chatted with People magazine about balancing motherhood and work duties, telling, “Every day, you feel like you are off-balance one way or another.”
The 37-year-old adds, “You just take it one day at a time. Oh gosh, let me know when you figure that out. I don’t think anyone has it.”

The other day, I mentioned how I get slightly annoyed with Jennifer Garner?s too-sweet ?Gee Golly? act. I actually like Garner a lot - I tend to think she?s one of the most talented actresses working today, and I?ve always been interested in knowing what she?s like when she?s not putting on the wholesome act in interview after interview. But I?m pretty much alone in that - because Jennifer is some kind of patron saint to soccer moms and women who love to see pictures of little Violet?s dimples, and her loyal fan base likes the ?Gee Golly? thing. Which is fine. God bless. However, the act has taken a slightly hilarious turn.
People Magazine put up a rather glowing, wholesome, cloying article about Jennifer late Tuesday afternoon. Jennifer is interviewed as part of her promotion of The Invention of Lying. Guess what Jennifer spends most of the interview talking about? Being a mom, of course! She even says ?oh gosh? for those playing some kind of (wholesome) drinking game. Anyway, that?s not the problem. The problem comes when one of Jennifer?s producer friends, a woman named Lynda Obst, starts talking about how Jennifer is such an amazing mom - and Obst pours it a little thick: ?Most of the time that I did spend with [Jennifer] when it was off-set, Violet was cooking with her, or reading Jane Austen, or doing one of these remarkable things that Violet tends to do.” Violet is 3 years old - she?ll be 4 on December 1 of this year. The Invention of Lying filmed in late spring of 2008, back when Violet was 2. So 2-year-old Violet spent her time reading Jane Austen! How fancy!
Jennifer Garner may downplay her mom abilities, but she has no shortage of ideas about encouraging her kids to think creatively, a friend says.
“Every day, you feel like you are off-balance one way or another,” Garner, at Monday’s Hollywood premiere of her comedy The Invention of Lying, told PEOPLE about the secret to juggling career and motherhood. “You just take it one day at a time. Oh gosh, let me know when you figure that out. I don’t think anyone has it.”
Garner may know more about motherhood than she lets on, however.
“Most of the time that I did spend with her when it was off-set, Violet was cooking with her, or reading Jane Austen, or doing one of these remarkable things that Violet tends to do,” producer Lynda Obst told PEOPLE. “She encourages her kids to be independent. At the same time, kind of not television watchers. Readers. Thinkers. She is kind of old-fashioned. She is a very classic mom.”
And as a mom and grandmother herself, Obst says of Garner, “We talk about really fun things to do with our kids. I will talk about the marching band I just formed with my granddaughter. She will talk about interesting play things she is doing. We swap tips. We talk about theory of parenting. We talk about free play and not interfering with the kids when they?re being creative. She is a remarkable mother.”
Invention of Lying co-director Matthew Robinson, who shared helming duties with Gervais, says Garner kept mum ? pun intended ? about her pregnancy. She was in the early stages while filming.
“I think she didn’t want us babying her, no pun intended,” Robinson says. “Or worrying that we were pushing her too hard or working too long hours. She never told anybody. And it was a surprise to us when we found out a few months after we wrapped.”

Truly, Jennifer may have absolutely no control over how crazy Linda Obst made her sound. I don?t care if Violet is a little child-genius, she?s not reading Jane Austen at 2 years old. What?s next? ?Oh, don?t mind 9-month old Seraphina, she?s just translating The Iliad.? I wouldn?t even buy that Jennifer reads Jane Austen to Violet. Jane Austen would be very complicated for a kid that age, especially one of the heavier books, like Persuasion or Mansfield Park (sigh… I love Persuasion). Maybe Jennifer could start reading Emma to Violet in a few years, though. That?s a good starter.

Last night was the Los Angeles premiere of The Invention of Lying, the Ricky Gervais film costarring Rob Lowe, Tina Fey, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner. Jennifer, Ricky and Rob showed up for the premiere, and it seems like all anyone could talk about was how great Jennifer looked, and how thin Ricky is getting. First, Jennifer - her strapless dress is Gucci, black silk with blue embroidery. The fit is excellent, and the dress is pretty righteous, in my opinion. Simple, yet stunning. I wish she would do something different with her hair, though. She looks like she needs a trim, or maybe she should have just pulled it in a bun.
As for Ricky, maybe it?s not that he looks thin, but he just looks healthier and in shape. Ricky told journalists on the red carpet that he was ?flattered? that people noticed that he has been working out, saying ?I have been working out more because I’ve got a gym in my house?I think I’m exactly the same weight but I’ve probably turned a bit of flab to muscle. I’ve lost about an inch, I’m still a 36-inch waist so I’m hardly Posh Spice!? Still, Ricky says that he?s not dieting, admitting that ?I’ve had pizza two days running in my hotel!” I think he looks great - but I love that man, no matter how in-shape or out-of-shape he is. I?m totally biased about Ricky.
Last night, Jennifer appeared on The Jay Leno Show, and Jay made her disrespect the Red Sox. I have literally no idea what any of this sports crap means, but People had a good summary:
Pardon the pun, but Jennifer Garner hit a home run on The Jay Leno Show Monday night when forced to recite the starting lineup for the Boston Red Sox in order to earn the right to plug her new flick, The Invention of Lying.
“Just to annoy” husband and diehard Sox fan Ben Affleck, Leno not only forced her to don a rival New York Yankees cap, but she also had to hold a photo of “her least favorite” Yankee player, Derek Jeter.
Impressively, Garner pulled off the challenge with commentary about her favorites ? hey, she admits they watch every game! ? but refused to give the Jeter photo to Affleck “as a gift,” proving just how smart she really is.

Oh? burn? Will Ben be mad about that? I hope not. The Invention of Lying is about a world in which lying doesn?t exist? until Ricky Gervais invents it, all for personal gain. Garner if his love interest, and the film does look good. I?ll see it just because Ricky Gervais is awesome.
