This is a weird, strange little gossip blurb out of Star Magazine. It seems that Julia Roberts and Shirley MacLaine are working together on the romantic-comedy Valentine?s Day, which basically stars half of Hollywood. I think it?s supposed to be like a Love, Actually-esque multi-storied romance, but I don?t know who is romancing who in the film. So far, we?ve seen on-set photos of everyone from Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Eric Dane, and Jessica Alba, and the IMDB credits also include Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner, Patrick Dempsey, Topher Grace, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, and Taylor Swift.
According to Star, Julia and Shirley MacLaine have some scenes together, and when they were through filming, the crew gave Julia a champagne toast. Shirley was not toasted:
Julia Robert is the toast of Tinseltown. After wrapping her scenes for the upcoming film Valentine?s Day, she received a standing ovation and champagne from the cast and crew.
Just Julia?s costar, Shirley MacLaine, didn?t get the same reception.
?She was such a rude, nasty pain in the butt the whole time,? an insider reveals. ?They decided to skip the toast for Shirley.?
Maybe in her next lifetime!

I guess I could buy it. Shirley MacLaine had a reputation for being a difficult actress to work with, I suppose she could still be like that. What I find weird is that with this large of a cast, and this many big names, they can probably only be working for about a week at most. How big of a bitch can you really be in a week?

Getting in a weekend workout, Jennifer Garner was spotted out for an early morning hike near her Pacific Palisades home on Sunday (August 9).
The “Juno” sweetheart was joined by former Alias Co Star Victor Garber, who appeared to be having a difficult time keeping up with his walking companions.
On the career end of things, Miss Garner has been putting in time on the set of “Valentine’s Day” - which is about “intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles breaking-up and making-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day.”
She’s also lined up for roles in “Sabbatical,” “Be With You,” and “Butter” - all of which are yet to begin filming.

Enjoying a mother/daughter outing, Jennifer Garner took Violet out for some breakfast in Brentwood, California on Friday morning (August 7).
Before heading into the restaurant, the “Juno” babe and her eldest child took time to pay the parking meter but, upon return, Jennifer found a ticket waiting on her Lexus.
Meanwhile, recent reports tell that Garner isn’t all that pleased with the close bond shared between her actor hubby Ben Affleck and his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Ben and Jen got one of Gwyneth’s famous notes this year just after Seraphina was born,” a source told FOX News.
The insider adds: “It was very nice, but it was a little too personal. Gwyneth made sure to mention how she was happy that Ben was finally creating the family he had always wanted, a family, which the two of them discussed in depth when they were dating. It just rubs Jen the wrong way.”

Taking some quality time for herself, Jennifer Garner was spotted out for a walk in her Brentwood neighborhood yesterday (August 2).
The “Catch and Release” cutie looked sexy sporty as she power walked past the paparazzi sporting a West Virginia ball cap and sunglasses.
And of course, Ms. Garner was all about staying well-connected, as she carried her iPhone with her for the walk, texting intermittently along the way.
Meanwhile, Jen’s husband Ben Affleck had his own affairs to tend to, hurrying off to LAX International Airport to catch a departing flight.

Tending to her motherly duties, Jennifer Garner was spotted chauffeuring her daughter Violet to the doctor’s office in Santa Monica on Wednesday (July 28).
Leading the way as her little girl followed along, the former “Alias” actress seemed to have a pleasant visit - as she left with several stickers stuck on her arm.
As for her career, Jen has been working on the new movie “Valentine’s Day” along with recently announcing a production deal with ABC Studios.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, Garner will be developing projects through her Vandalia Films production company in hopes of creating a hit female-driven project.

Taking care of some weekend errands, Jennifer Garner was spotted out and about in Pacific Palisades yesterday afternoon (July 26).
The “Alias” actress looked cool and casual as she stopped into the Farmers Market to try out some fresh grapes before washing it all down with a delicious Starbucks beverage.
And it’s good to see Ms. Garner enjoying some downtime, as she has been hard at work on her new movie “Valentine’s Day” as of late.
“Valentine’s Day” is about intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles breaking up and making up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day.

She’s always up to something, and yesterday (July 21) Jennifer Garner was spotted working hard on the set of her new movie “Valentine’s Day.”
The “Catch and Release” cutie looked to be having a good time as she strolled around the lot, sporting a black and white waitress getup with slip-ons.
Several times throughout the day, Jen enjoyed conversations on her mobile phone during breaks in the filming schedule.
“Valentine’s Day” looks like a sure-to-be hit with an ensemble cast including Bradley Cooper, Topher Grace, Julia Roberts, and Anne Hathaway, and hits theaters February 12th, 2010.

Enjoying an afternoon outing, Jennifer Garner was spotted leaving a restaurant on San Vicente Blvd in Santa Monica on Wednesday (July 15).
The sighting comes just as the “Juno” actress struck a development deal with ABC and her production company, Vandalia Films.
While Jen doesn’t plan on taking on any of the acting duties, Variety tells that she’ll be developing female-driven projects along the lines of “Grey’s Anatomy”.
According to Garner, she’s looking forward to “the opportunity to get back into television wearing my producer hat.”

Pretty much as soon as Jennifer Garner gave birth to daughter Seraphina in January, rumors began swirling that Ben Affleck was desperate for a son, and that he was suffering ?estrogen overload? with his wife, two daughters, and a mother-in-law who was/is maybe living with the family. The tabloids dropped the story pretty quickly, but now they?re bringing it back. I suppose it?s because Seraphina is six months old now, and all of those In Touch Weekly readers just want Jennifer Garner continuously knocked up so that she can populate the world with adorable dimpled babies.
Now the tabloids are reporting that Jennifer is totally on board with ?trying for the boy?. It seems she?s consulting fertility doctors to see how she can guarantee Ben his male heir. I have two points about this. This is probably just general crap In Touch made up to go along with some new pictures of a not-quite-super thin-yet Jennifer Garner (who is still carrying around a tiny bit of post-pregnancy weight, but she looks lovely and healthy, and not pregnant).
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck?s youngest child Seraphina is only 6 months old, but the happy parents are ready to add to the family again - and this time, they want to give Violet, 3, and Seraphina a brother.
?Their daughter weren?t planned pregnancies - they just happened naturally,? a friend explains.
But since they?re aiming for a son next, the couple have turned to a fertility expert for help in charting Jen?s cycle to better their odds.
?They adore their daughters more than anything,? says the pal. ?But of course, they would love to have a boy too.?

I?ll buy that Jennifer wants another baby at some point, but I doubt she wants to try again anytime soon. I just checked her IMDB stats, and Jen has no fewer than eight projects lined up in various stages of pre-production. The girl?s going back to work. Just so - she?s the breadwinner of the family.
