Jennifer Garner has the honors of being W’s January cover girl. The issue, which hits newsstands on Dec. 22, features a few close and personal shots of the star.Jennifer opened up to the magazine ahead of the release ofValentine’s Day, chatting about her career and life as Mrs. Affleck.On deciding to have kids with Ben: “We were together a year, and we just started breeding. We were like, ‘Let?s have a baby!’ And eight days later?”On her mentioning Ben in interviews and his not mentioning her: “Ben asks me, ‘How come when I do an interview I manage to keep you out of it completely?’ And I?m like, ‘Either because you don?t think about me or because boy magazines don?t care about what I make you for dinner. But they should!’”On being away from loved ones while working: “That?s the hardest thing about being on location when it?s not for your own project. When it?s for you, you?re on set with everybody you know, but if not, it?s lonely. I can live with Ben working crazy hours. But I can?t live without girlfriends around to talk about men with! . . . It?s fine if he?s not there; I just need someone to bitch about it to!”

Jennifer Garner is the cover girl for the January 2010 issue of W Magazine. The full interview hasn?t been released yet, but there are some pretty good excerpts floating around. First: the cover image. It?s okay. I tend to think Jennifer?s hair is too dark, and that she would benefit from some highlights. Other than that, she looks great. She?s lost the weight from her second pregnancy, and the girl is one of the few who can pull off orange. I do prefer the second image from W Magazine, though, the black and white one (below). It?s sultry and sexy, and it?s nice to see Jennifer still has that part of herself.
Anyway, Jennifer is doing the cover interview as part of her advanced promotion for Valentine?s Day, which comes out? yes, you guessed it. In the excerpts I?ve found, Jennifer isn?t talking too much about the film, though. Instead, she?s talking about her life with Ben and their two girls:

I don?t blame Jennifer for talking about Ben in this interview or any interview. People want to know, so many mothers look up to her as their sweatpant-clad patron saint, and people love looking at photos of her family. There?s interest there, and Jennifer usually doesn?t give too much away. Plus, she probably wants to do a little damage control after that little rumor blip about Ben and his costar Blake Lively. For the record - I don?t think Ben cheated on Jennifer with Blake. But I also don?t think Ben and Jennifer?s relationship is as solid as some people think. We?ll see.

Gearing up for the holiday gift-giving season, Jennifer Garner was spotted out and about in Santa Monica yesterday (December 7) getting some shopping done.
The “Catch and Release” actress looked a bit soggy as she braved the rainy weather sporting some Christmas-colored red fingernails.
And it’s no wonder Ms. Garner is a bit behind on her holiday shopping as she was quite busy over the weekend.
Jen and her husband Ben Affleck were spotted in San Francisco on Sunday and prior to that she was in Los Angeles working on her current project “Valentine’s Day.”

Hard at work on her new movie, Jennifer Garner was busy on the set of “Valentine’s Day” in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon (December 4).
The former “Alias” actress teamed up with George Lopez for the day’s shoot, running through scenes as Lopez was arrested during the course of the action.
Always keeping a busy schedule, Jen spent the previous night at the Children’s Defense Fund’s 19th Annual Beat the Odds Awards Dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The charitable fete was held to honor a few noteworthy individuals who play a key role in the non-profit organization’s mission to help needy children.

Remember that honking giant engagement ring that Ben Affleck bought for Jennifer Lopez back in 2003? It was a 6.1 carat Pink diamond from Harry Winston and he paid 1.2 million for it at the time. These two canceled their wedding at the last minute in January, 2004 and the rest is history. The ring was sold in 2005 with no word on if the proceeds went to Ben or J.Lo or if they shared.
Jennifer Garner, Ben’s wife of four and a half years, has been seen out with a ring to top J.Lo’s giant Pink bauble. According to Star Magazine, the thing is 7 carats and it’s real!
Ben Affleck sure knows how to make a girl feel appreciated! He recently gave wife Jennifer Garner a stunning 7-carat diamond ring as a thank-you for hanging in there while he shoots the romantic drama The Town in Boston. “Jennifer was flabbergasted when he gave it to her,” says a source. “He said he knows he’s so lucky to have her, and that she’s a great mom.” So now Jen is tending to daughters Violet, 4 and Seraphina, 11 months, with a hot new rock on her hand. “She isn’t pretentious at all, so she’s kind of embarrassed by the size of it,” adds the source. “But she’s getting into showing off her bling!”

I scoured through photos of Jennifer Garner, because her poor family is pretty much stalked by paparazzi, and I found photos of her wearing the amazing ring on 11/17, 11/19 and 11/21. In photos taken on 11/28, 11/29 and 12/1 she’s not wearing the ring. She attended a charity event last night wearing different rings. Garner is an understated person who dresses pretty casually when she’s not on the red carpet. At first I thought she might not want to wear the ring out much because it’s so valuable. She’s also looking very thin lately, so maybe the giant diamond ring is out being sized. It’s also possible she’s not that into the ring, like maybe she thinks it’s garish. J.Lo loves flashy jewelry but Garner seems content with a few low-key pieces. She did have a ton of diamonds on at the 2008 Oscars, but that’s pretty much what all the celebrities wear.

Getting ready for an evening of family celebratory fun, Jennifer Garner was spotted picking up her daughter, Violet Affleck, on her 4th birthday in Santa Monica on Tuesday (December 1).
Joined by her mother as she carried little Seraphina in her arms, the former “Alias” actress gave her birthday girl a big hug before quickly loading up in the family car and driving away.
The celebratory outing comes as Jen gears up for more work duties - as she’ll be focusing her efforts on the Jim Field Smith directed comedy, “Butter”.
Based off of Jason A. Micallef’s screenplay, “Butter” is set in the Midwest U.S., where “an adopted girl discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman in their town’s annual contest.”

Taking advantage of a rare break from her motherly duties, Jennifer Garner treated herself to a morning pampering session in Beverly Hills on Sunday (November 29).
The former “Alias” actress toted her Chanel handbag as she popped into the popular Byron & Tracey Salon - leaving with a fresh and stylish new hairdo.
On the career side of things, it was recently announced that Miss Garner will be taking on a role in a new movie called “Be with You”.
In developmental stage, a synopsis of the Allan Loeb written work tells: “On her deathbed, a wife and mother tells her family that after she passes, she will return to them. A year later, a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to their loved one surfaces...”

The “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” actress looked cute in jeans and flats with a maroon and gray hooded sweater as she escorted her little girl into the Santa Monica school.
As usual, young Violet looked thrilled to be going to school as she smiled away while walking inside.
The Affleck ladies have been back and forth from Santa Monica, CA to Boston, MA where Ben is currently filming “The Town.”

Doing what she loves the most, Jennifer Garner was spotted spending time with her daughters, Violet and Seraphina earlier today (November 14).
With the help of a nanny, the lovely ladies headed into a caf for lunch in Los Angeles, CA.
Just yesterday, the “13 Going on 30” actress shopped at JennyBec toy store in Santa Monica to check out the latest toys for her 3-year-old and 10 month old.
After looking around for awhile, Ms Garner decided on a push toy car, and then headed off to picks up Violet from school.
