Jennifer Garner is in a new movie called The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which is not out until August, 2012. I will admit to being momentarily touched by this incredibly cheesy trailer for what is undoubtedly an incredibly cheesy movie. You know that glurge category on Snopes, where they debunk stories often involving little children dying somehow, but first touching another person’s life in a way that will never be forgotten? (I should label that SPOILER, because I can imagine this poor kid character dying at the end of this movie in a “he’s too good for this world” twist. Or maybe he’s from a parallel universe and needs to be sent back to it or something.) The glurge category is surely where this film belongs, but people like to switch off their brains sometimes and be force fed cliche plots, so this could be moderately successful.
Anyway Jennifer Garner and her handsome co-star that I’m only being introduced to today, Joel Edgerton, star in this Disney film about a childless couple who wishes a ten year-old boy into existence. (USA Today has him as ten years old, but he looks younger to me.) The boy comes into their lives full of wonder and hope, and transforms them, the whole neighborhood and all their friends and family probably. They did a brief interview to promote this film, which again is not out until next year so I’m not really getting it.
When The Odd Life of Timothy Green opens in August 2012, audiences will meet Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), a couple who have reached a point of despair: They can’t conceive. During a wine-fueled night, the Greens dream up their ideal offspring. He would score a winning goal, just once. He’d be honest to a fault. “Picasso with a pencil,” Cindy wishes.
Soon, a 10-year-old arrives at their doorstep, claiming the Greens as his own.
“He’s a boy with the qualities that his parents hope for,” says director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life), but “those qualities manifest in ways they never could have imagined.”
Disney is keeping the boy’s origin under wraps, but the Greens “get nothing more, nothing less” than what they wished for, Garner reveals. “He doesn’t have any emotional memories. He’s completely nave to the way the world works ? someone who’s honest to a fault is called honest to a fault for a reason.”
Garner understands her character’s yearning. “There’s no deeper want for a woman” than to be a mother, says the Hollywood mom, whose two young daughters visited the Georgia set daily in late winter with husband Ben Affleck.
In the film, the Greens must quickly adjust to parenting. It was Hedges’ experience with two teen sons that inspired him to adapt the story by producer Ahmet Zappa for the screen. “I wanted to make a film about what it means to be a parent in the 21st century,” he says.
Timothy Green puts the title role spotlight on young actor CJ Adams, whom Hedges cast in 2007’s Dan in Real Life. And Edgerton is set to have a blockbuster 2012: He soon enters F. Scott Fitzgerald territory as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. Next year, “Joel Edgerton is an actor who everyone is going to be talking about,” Hedges says.
But in the world of Timothy Green, a year’s time is all too precious. The new family is “acutely aware of the passing of time,” Hedges says ominously. “We all only get our children for a very short period of time.”

The kid goes back to where he came from probably. That’s pretty much what they’re suggesting, and it seems predictable. I like how they make the kid seem kind of Jesus-y yet kid-like at the same time. I have a seven year-old and he’s also amazing, as are most kids. He just wants to know about everything and he’s starting to make his way in this world, but he’s still very much a kid and very sweet.
I do take some offense at Garner saying that “there’s no deeper want for a woman” than being a mother. That may be true for her, but for so many other women who choose not to have children that’s not the case at all. It’s very difficult to raise kids and props to women who realize it’s not for them. They want other things out of life and I’ll be honest, sometimes I do too. I mean I would never change the fact that I’m a mom, but I know that I’m not ready to have another one. I just want to focus on my one kid and be able to continue my illustrious career gossiping. Other women decide not to be moms. They have other wants that take precedence. That doesn’t mean that the urge for motherhood is somehow deeper than the urge to follow another dream. That comment bugs me. Doesn’t Garner have any childless friends?

Enjoying some quality mom and tot time, Jennifer Garner was spotted shopping in Santa Monica, California with her adorable daughter Seraphina yesterday (July 27).
The precious pair were all smiles as they tended to their hunt for fashionable finds - casual clad Jen sported a black button down shirt with khaki trousers, while 2-year-old Serephina opted for a Pink top and striped skirt.
Just a day before (July 26), the hands-on momma was pictured with her eldest daughter, Violet, with whom she visited a friend in Brentwood.
Garner, who is set to debut her latest comedic fete, "Butter," at this year's Toronto Film Festival, has been fighting off persistent "baby on board" rumors, of which her rep has told press, "The speculation is false, she is not pregnant."

These are just some cute photos of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner out at the farmer’s market this Sunday. They look somewhat annoyed to be papped, although there are also photos of them smiling and interacting. Their daughters are adorable as usual and they look like a happy family whose every move is chronicled by the press.
There’s buzz (by the photo agency) of Garner being potentially pregnant again, but we hear that about her every couple of weeks whenever she wears a loose top. I think this striped number isn’t doing her any favors in that it billows out and gives the optical illusion that she has a bump. Photos of her from Thursday show her with a flat stomach.
Affleck seems to have tamed his wild hair and shaved at some point in the last couple of weeks. The last time we saw him he had some very wiry looking hair and a face full of scruff.
Garner looks so different without any makeup, but of course this isn’t the first time we’ve seen her without it. She barely wears it on a daily basis. Personally I feel naked without it. I’m revealing myself to be high maintenance lately but I almost never go out without makeup on. I’m pale with light eyelashes and don’t feel comfortable without mascara and eye pencil on at least. I guess when you have to wear makeup for your job (and when it sometimes takes hours) you probably don’t want to bother putting it on every day. Like I don’t enjoy getting my hair done because the blowout seems like it takes forever. That doesn’t mean I don’t do my hair every day though, I just do it faster than that.
Oh and here’s the photo where the agency is saying Garner looks pregnant. I see it here, but not in the other pictures.

Talk about a picture perfect family ? Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Violet and Seraphina stepped out for a Sunday brunch in Brentwood, CA yesterday (July 10).
The ?Town? actor and his ?Valentine?s Day? wife, along with their precious gals, were all smiles as they exited Villeta restaurant and strolled down the street.
The night before, Garner stopped by the BAFTA Brits to Watch Gala - where she had the pleasure of shaking hands with Prince William and wife, Kate.
Meanwhile, daddy Ben has been enjoying a less hectic summer than usual and has been able to spend the summer days with his ladies.

It?s no secret that Jennifer Garner?s casual, non-red-carpet style leaves something to be desired. It?s not simply that she seems to prefer sweats or jeans - there are some really cute things happening with sweatpants and jeans. No, Garner?s problem might be that she puts really ugly, unflattering stuff together when she?s left to her own devices. She dresses like a mom, sure, and I?m sure she had oatmeal in her hair and a juice stain on her pants, and that makes her very happy because being a mom is the most important thing to her. I?m not questioning her mothering abilities. I?m questioning her ability to find a pair of boot-cut jeans in a dark wash with no holes that actually fit her without her ass crack hanging out at the park for the paparazzi to photograph. I?m questioning her ability to select a blouse that doesn?t make her look pregnant. I questioning her ability to find a cute pair of shoes, in general.
So imagine my thoughts on this casual look for Jennifer?s outing to a Santa Monica medical building. I mean? this is a 1950s housedress. I wasn?t alive then, but I recognize the look from photos, and from Betty Draper on Mad Men, Season 1. This is an old-fashion housedress that stay-at-home moms (they were just called ?married women? back then) would wear during the day. Women would wear these? adult smocks as they did their housework, smoked their cigarettes and gossiped with neighbor ladies about communists (that?s what they did!). I think my mom had a similar housedress at some point, but she came of age stylistically in the 1970s, so she traded in her housedresses for a series of muumuus. Why do I get the feeling that ?muumuus? are next for Garner? Pretty soon she?s going to be reclining in the BarcaLounger, wearing a muumuu, some socks with plastic treads, her hair in curlers, complaining about Reagan? yeah. Jennifer Garner is my mother. Or perhaps my grandmother.

These are new photos from last night?s Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, a charity event that benefits the homeless and/or unemployed. In past years, the event has gotten good turnout, and last night?s was decent. I guess two of the biggest A-listers there were Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who refused to walk the red carpet together. I don?t even think Affleck walked the red carpet at all, because there is only one photo of him that I?ve seen, and he?s exiting the event. Can I just something to Garner and Affleck? The jig is up. We know you?re together. You have two children together and you get pap?d all the time, often on a daily basis. You can walk a red carpet together, for the love of God. You are not Gwyneth and Chris Martin. Don?t try to be.
Anyway, I don?t know who did Jennifer?s dress, but it?s kind of cute. It looks kind of wrinkly and like she just threw it on, but at least it doesn?t age her by ten years, like so many of her ?dress up? clothes do.
Next up: Balthazar and Rosetta Getty. As time goes on, I realize more and more why Balthy tried to get away from Rosetta for The Year of Sienna Miller. Rosetta just seems so crazy to me. Balthy is a mess too.
Speaking of messes, Vince Vaughn. Jesus, remember when he didn?t look so? unhealthy?
I don?t pretend to ?get? Olivia Wilde, as a person, as an actress, or as a Fashion Girl. This dress is fug, and the hair is just? ugh. Bangs AND a ponytail? And yet… all together, Olivia doesn’t really look bad, I have to admit. She looks healthy and fresh, somehow.

Doing her part to promote proper nutritional education, Jennifer Garner was spotted picking veggies in Yorktown Heights, New York today (June 9).
The mother-of-two looked to be having a great time as she and some kids helped kick off Frigidaire?s Kids? Cooking Academy Summer Session.
After they gathered up their ingredients, Garner and the crew had a lesson in eating fresh at the Stone Barns Restaurant in Pocantico Hills.
Jen told press, "I'm a huge fan and avid supporter of my local Farmer's Market. Showing kids how foods go from farm to table is an important first step in creating healthy eating habits. The Frigidaire Summer School is a great way to educate kids and their parents about the importance of eating fresh."

Making a promotional appearance, Jennifer Garner was spotted at FOX Studios in New York City this morning (June 9).
The ?Catch and Release? actress was all smiles as she prepared for her interview on ?Fox & Friends.?
Yesterday, Jennifer was in Washington DC where she spoke about early childhood education and improved access to child care at the Capitol Visitor?s Center.
She explained, ?You were able to sit in a circle when you got to kindergarten - that is kindergarten readiness. It?s being able to get along with your peers. It?s knowing what a rhyme is?.my 2-year-old can spout Mother Goose from here to next week. That comes from school.?
?I am telling you that when you go into a house that the kids are growing up in poverty there is not a book in the house. There is nothing from Playskool. There are no developmental toys and there are exhausted moms who do not have any energy left to get books to their kids, or the money to do it.?

Making her fourth such trip to the political center of the States, Jennifer Garner was on-hand at the Capitol Visitor's Center in Washington, DC on Wednesday (June 8).
The "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" actress joined Save The Children leader Mark Shriver, along with Bob Casey and Barbara Mikulski, with the group discussing early childhood education and improved access to child care.
Upon taking the podium, Miss Garner looked upon the youthful audience, as she said, "You guys look...young," then adding, "bright, successful, clean, pretty-looking people."
Helping the actress maintain credibility during the education/care talks, Shriver later reminded the conference-goers that Jennifer is ?a daughter of West Virginia? and ?understands the problem of rural poverty very well."

Stepping out for a delectable morning meal, Jennifer Garner was spotted heading into Tavern Restaurant in Brentwood, CA on Wednesday (May 4).
The ?Valentine?s Day? babe looked cute in a khaki-colored ensemble and heels as made her way inside to meet some friends for a tasty brunch.
Jen has always made exercise a priority, and she recently told WonderWall what type of music keeps her going at the gym.
She said that she had her girls? babysitter put together a workout mix for her and it included artists like ?Beyonce or Kanye West of Katy Perry.?
