Leaving hubby Ben Affleck at home with the kiddos, Jennifer Garner stepped out for some dinner with a few gal pals in Santa Monica last night (March 20).
The ?13 Going On 30? starlet looked to be in good spirits as she exited the trendy Giorgio Baldi restaurant with a big smile on her face and headed back to her car.
And while the National Enquirer has claimed that Jen and Ben?s marriage is in trouble due to a ?bitter battle over whether to have another baby,? it seems that once again the tabloid couldn?t be more wrong.
According to an inside source, things couldn?t be better for the Affleck-Garner household, with both Ben and Jennifer enjoying their family and career successes together.

These are just some cute photos of Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck and their kids out yesterday. Jen went out grocery shopping with Seraphina and Samuel earlier in the day, and then the whole family was spotted out later at a park in Brentwood. It looks like she changed one year-old Samuel into some sweats for their outing to the playground. That knit cap he’s wearing there is so cute, I wonder if one of his grandmothers made it for him. Also, Ben clipped down his beard somewhat and is back to his original hotness.
Check out the adorable St. Patrick’s day outfits that the kids are sporting. Look at little Samuel noshing on that bagel! Garner is so chic and casual here in her green skinny jeans, white sweater and green and white striped scarf. That’s a great outfit and looks effortless yet well put together. She can look gorgeous and casual when she puts some thought into it. Love me some scarves.
Garner has a partnership/sponsorship deal with Neutrogena, I’ve seen her ads for their skincare quite a few times. As part of her promotional duties, she spoke to People Magazine about making sure her kids wear sunblock. She also admitted to bribing them with M&Ms when necessary.
?Of course it?s a struggle!? the actress, 40, tells PEOPLE Wednesday at the Neutrogena Sun Summit. ?The kids do not like getting sunscreen put on, especially at at a certain age, at least not mine. If you have kids out there who like sunscreen, hallelujah!?
Garner, who admits she luckily missed out on the ?major baking-in-the-sun years? by mostly staying inside when she was younger, wants to ensure that her children with husband Ben Affleck ? Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel, 1 ? also avoid future skin damage by educating them about the dangers.
?We talk about skin health, and they know why they have to wear sunscreen,? she says. ?If someone forgets, they?ll say ?Hey, did you forget to put sunscreen on me???
She also praises Neutrogena?s kid-friendly SPF application options for making things a little easier at home: ?I give them a stick that they can rub on their faces. Or they can do a spray if they want it fast. I?ve used everything.?
And Garner admits she?s not above rewarding her kids for remembering their sunscreen.
?I know it?s horrible ? and I?m admitting to bribery ? but I?ve given them an M&M [for putting] sunscreen on before,? Garner reveals. ?I?ve [also] done a sticker chart. I?ll do whatever it takes ? it has to be a non-negotiable part of life.?
[From People]
My son is pretty good about letting me put on sunblock, but I understand the bribing thing. I’ve totally done it. (I don’t do it all the time, but I’m not going to act like I never do!) I’m sure there are parenting experts who would say that it’s wrong and harmful and the lesson is lost or something, but sometimes you just have to get the job done.
This reminds me of an episode of “Parenthood” where Julia (Erika Christensen) asks her sister-in-law, Kristina (Monica Potter), for parenting advice after she adopted a 10 year-old boy and can’t get him to do his homework. Kristina states very bluntly that she bribes her own son with Skittles and explains why there’s no shame in it. I get it, I really do.
I just made the mistake of googling “should you bribe your kids” and at first it made me feel like a terrible mom, but then I learned some strategies to be a more effective briber. I mean parent.
Back to the photos, I love this one so much!
Also Seraphina is playing basketball, that’s cool. These kids are little stars.

Starting her weekend off with some exercise, Jennifer Garner took a spin class at a Santa Monica gym on Saturday (March 16).
Workout ready in black leggings and a grey pullover, the ?Odd Life of Timothy Green? actress made a stop at Starbucks after her session.
Earlier this week, the mom-of-three attended the Neutrogena Sun Summit as the skin care brand?s ambassador.
Speaking on the importance of sunscreen as part of a daily routine, the 40-year-old shared, ?Right after brushing my teeth and washing my face, I put on sunscreen immediately. It has to be in my moisturizer, in my makeup.?

Getting energized for a busy weekend, Jennifer Garner went to Soul Cycle in Santa Monica on Saturday (March 2).
The 40-year-old mother-of-three looked cute in a Pink zip-up sweatshirt, black workout leggings, and white sneakers as she headed inside with her water bottle.
On Thursday, the "Alias" star had her hands full with her baby boy on her hip and Violet holding on as she picked up her eldest daughter.
While her 8-year-old girl wore a paper "Cat in the Hat" hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday, recent birthday boy Samuel was just happy to be along for the ride.

| Jennifer Garner in ruffled Gucci at the Oscars: glamorous or fussy? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jennifer Garner supported her husband Ben Affleck through his Best Movie win in this deep purple tight fitted Gucci gown accented by a bizarre ruffled back that continued into a train. In photos this dress looks better to me than it did on camera, particularly when she was being interviewed by Kristen Chenoweth. (Maybe that’s because I found Chenoweth supremely annoying. Did you see that stunt she pulled with Hugh Jackman asking him if she weighed more than an Oscar?) Garner explained that the gown was custom-made and that “They gave me other ones to chose from but I loved this from the minute I saw the first sketch. I save up all my fashion for red carpet events.” Garner has a banging body but somehow this gown didn’t flatter her and accented the wrong places. Also: matchy bridal shoes! Something nice: I like her statement necklace and her hair and makeup are pretty.
Jane Fonda brought the 80s back in this fierce canary yellow v-neck Atelier Versace complete with freaking shoulder pads and gold detailing around the waist. I’m not kidding, I love this look. This is some bold, dated styling and Fonda pulls it off. The dress looked sexy from the back when she was presenting, too. Work it, Jane!
Melissa McCarthy wore grey David Meister, a designer she’s used many times in the past, and I was underwhelmed by the fit and color of this dress, which was similar to her past red carpet looks. This designer hasn’t really brought it for her. When she was presenting I was struck by the pretty details of the gown, like the beaded sleeves and the cool black triangle inset panel on the gown where a slit would be. Also, I really disliked her huge poofy hair. It seems like everyone was doing that a few years back.
I loved Melissa’s presentation with Paul Rudd for Animated Short and Feature. They’re both excellent at deadpanning it. I was hoping that the show would keep up those staged awkward moments, but apart from the weird Avengers thing there wasn’t much.
I’m adding Norah Jones in here as she was also in grey and was just so sweet on the red carpet. I was impressed with how shy yet genuine she was with Ryan Seacrest. She told him that it was her first Oscars. I don’t have a designer ID on her gown yet, which was pretty but kind of plain to me, which may have been due to the color. Her hair was also too fussy piled on top of her head like that, but she still looked so pretty. Norah performed “Everybody Needs a Best Friend,” from Ted, you can see her performance here on The Oscar website. I felt bad for her because the sound for her vocals was being overwhelmed by the music. The engineers should have perfected the levels during the rehearsals, there was no excuse for that.
Bonus pic with Adele! We’ll have more on her shortly.

| Jennifer Garner in Roland Mouret at the BAFTAs: classic or boring? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jennifer Garner supported her husband Ben Affleck at last night’s BAFTAs in a snore of a dress by Roland Mouret. She was probably going for classy, and she achieved that look somewhat, but I feel that her styling really dragged the whole look down. Maybe with some more daring hair and bolder makeup this would have worked, but it just looks too staid to me overall. Her makeup artist didn’t even fill in her brows and her lashes look non-existent. The black and white color blocking on the gown along with the goofy peplum and v-strap neckline just make it look like she’s wearing an apron. (Credit: Kaiser, I wouldn’t have come up with that on my own!) Something nice: I love her jewelry, I would wear the hell out of those gorgeous drop earrings, and check out her bracelet.
Garner’s man Affleck earned best film, best director, and best editing for Argo. (Here’s a complete list of winners.) I recently saw the film and while I enjoyed most of it I found myself furiously taking notes wondering how much of it was historically accurate. I guess that doesn’t matter if you suspend disbelief, but to me a lot of plot points seemed improbable and they were – just about all the high drama that I questioned turned out to be invented. It’s a great movie, though, and an uplifting story of American triumph, with some help from our friendly neighbors to the north. (The Canadians can take way more credit for that rescue than they were given in the movie, btw.)
Here’s another chick who got it wrong at last night’s BAFTAs, British singer Paloma Faith. I’m just adding her here as I want to make fun of her hair. Is that an entire hairpiece or is her own hair worked in there somehow and not just swept up underneath? I just complained about Garner’s brows but they could be much worse.
Oh and here are photos of Ben and Jen at a pre-BAFTAs party on Saturday night. The first one below cracked me up. Her hair and makeup look better for this night out than at the BAFTAs.

| Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner are still campaigning for that Oscar, with dimples! | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I was going to make a big deal about these photos of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner and the Dimple Parade. I thought today was the last day of Oscar voting, like the ballots were due today, and this was Ben and Jen?s last big push, last big photo op just to remind Oscar voters that OMG HAPPY FAMILY DIMPLES. But I was wrong ? ?final balloting? begins today and extends to February 19th (for online voters). We still have 11 days of dimples!!!!!! And after that, Ben turns into a surly pumpkin. After that, no more well-dressed Ben holding hands with his daughters on the daily coffee run. No more Ben smiling sheepishly and winningly for the paparazzi. No more public displays of affection for his wife. After those Oscar ballots are in, Ben will go back to being grumpy and surly and he?ll go back to flipping off the paps.
I wonder if Ben is exhausted with all of this happy, dimply family time? I?m not asking that to be rude, I?m still getting used to Ben?s about-face. A year ago, it seemed like he could care less about looking like a devoted family man. He had other things to do, he wasn?t interested in being a stay-at-home dad.
So, will Ben end up winning at the Oscars? I think it?s looking pretty good that Argo will take Best Picture, although there is still a week and a half of hustling left, so you can be sure that Ben and Jen will be out in full force. Incidentally, CB recently saw Argo and she really enjoyed it, although she had the same criticism that I saw from a lot of critics ? when Ben is directing himself, he definitely puts himself on camera too often, often to the detriment of the story. So while Argo is a really good movie, Ben still has some issues?

Running to the school to make sure her daughter has a healthy meal, Jennifer Garner dropped off Violet Affleck's lunch in Santa Monica on Tuesday (February 5).
The "Butter" star smiled in a navy jacket, gray scarf, and beige pants as she carried her 7-year-old girl's bright Pink lunch bag.
On Saturday, the 40-year-old actress received some high praise from her proud hubby, Ben Affleck at the Director's Guild of America Awards.
While accepting the award for Outstanding Directoral Achievement for "Argo," he gushed, "I have to just thank my wife for being the best person in the world. I love you. I don't need to look at the teleprompter to know why I want to thank you. I want to thank you because I love you."

Making sure her little girl gets a proper education, Jennifer Garner took Seraphina Affleck to school in Brentwood, California this morning (January 29).
The ?Alias? actress and her pint-sized sweetie opted for a Starbucks run during their commute, with both ladies scoring delicious libations along the way.
Over the weekend proud papa/husband Ben Affleck enjoyed yet another victory at the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Affleck?s flick ?Argo? won the Best Cast trophy, adding to his already-impressive list of accolades from the project.

| Jennifer Garner in gold Oscar de la Renta at the SAGs: washed out or hot? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
When the E! camera panned to Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s arrival at the SAGs, I got a little jolt of hope that these two might actually walk a red carpet together. Jen whispered something in Ben’s ear, Ben kissed her affectionately, and I thought “this is it, we’re going to get photos of them together on the red carpet for the first time since that bad superhero movie!” But no, it didn’t happen. Ben talked to Giuliana and she asked him where Jennifer was, and he was all “long gone,” as if it were Jen’s decision not to do an interview with him because she was too busy posing. He did thank her at the beginning of his acceptance speech, when Argo took home the actor for best ensemble cast.
Ben’s speech came right at the end of the night, and he ended it on a perfect note. He was so psyched and he gave such a nice tribute to the other actors, and actors in general. (You can watch his speech here.) As Kaiser mentioned, I really think Argo could bring it home for best picture at the Oscars. The Academy Members get their ballots right around now, and they’re going to remember Ben’s awesome speech at the SAGs.
In term’s of Jennifer Garner’s gold gown, I was disappointed. Let me put it this way, I thought she looked hot in spite of the dress. It was probably the color, which kind of washed her out. Maybe the color looked prettier in person than it did on camera. I did like her makeup and her loose curls. I don’t remember ever seeing her hair like that in the past, and I like that she changed it up.
Viola Davis was one of last night’s presenters and she wore this bright teal one-shoulder Monique Lhuillier. I like that she chose such a bright color, and that she went with her natural hair. Plus her orange earrings are a nice pop of contrast. This is a gorgeous gown and a sophisticated look. Something rude: her shoes are kind of trashy.
Also looking bright we have Nina Dobrev in shocking Pink Elie Saab, a designer she’s worn in the past. This dress is so sleek and gorgeous, and Nina rocks it as usual. I love to see what she wears to events, she’s usually spot on.
In contrast Julianna Margulies wore this black and white Chado Ralph Rucci gown that was like an uglier version of Marion Cotillard’s two-tone dress. I don’t like the way the skirt scoops up into the bustline, and I dislike the cut and the dripping asymmetric black band at the hemline. It’s a bizarre dress that strives to be contemporary and just fails, in my opinion. I’m not a fan of her fashion in general. Her husband is so hot, I have to say.
Bonus: Jennifer Garner and Julianne Moore!
