The "Alias" star was clad in a black and white polka-dotted dress, a white lab coat, and orthopedic white shoes as she strolled across the set between takes.
In the upcoming drama, the 40-year-old actress plays Eve Saks, a doc who helps HIV/AIDS patient Ron Woodroof smuggle in anti-viral medications from all over the world.
Matthew McConaughey stars as Woodroof, dropping around 30 pounds from his previously fit frame to play the ailing activist.
"Dallas Buyer's Club" is set for release in 2013.

She walked in with a white belt, and out with an orange one. Little Violet Affleck was accompanied by proud mom and dad, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, to Karate class in Brentwood, CA on Friday (October 26).
The "Argo" star wore a blue plaid shirt and jeans, while holding his 6-year-old daughter's hand, who proudly carried her certificate of honor. Her "Alias" momma wore a Pink top and gray highwater pants, as she opened a juice box for her other little martial artist, Seraphina Affleck.
On Wednesday, the 40-year-old actor reunited with pal Matt Damon for a business meeting. The two are collaborating on another film, which will star Matt and Ben's brother Casey Affleck, while Ben directs.
The upcoming movie will follow the story of New England's most notorious gangster, James "Whitey" Bulger.

Enjoying a mommy-daughter field trip, Jennifer Garner took Violet Affleck to the La Brea Tar Pits and followed it up with a snack in Los Angeles on Monday.
The "Butter" star looked preppy in a white button-down shirt, navy blue sweater, blue jeans, and brown loafers while her 6-year-old girl happily munched on some goodies in a pale blue dress and tennis shoes.
Like many Americans, the 40-year-old actress has been thinking a lot about politics lately. Though President Obama can be assured he has her vote, her support is not unconditional. She told Politico recently, "My feelings are complicated as well, but I look forward to seeing what he does in the next four years."
A strong supporter of helping children in poverty, she was disappointed in both candidates lack of attention to that issue. The mother-of-three lamented, "There was not one question about the state of children living in poverty in the United States? asked in the first presidential debate, she said. ??You would think that would be at the front of the conversation, not something that?s buried so deeply that it?s never even talked about.?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were in Paris yesterday for the French premiere of Argo. (Only one of our agencies had those premiere photos and they were exclusive so we can’t use them, but the two of them were there. They did pose together inside the venue, but not outside.) In case you’re wondering how these two roll, The Daily Mail has photos of them getting into a private jet on Sunday. They left the kids at home to take this quick romantic jaunt together.
Yesterday these two were seen out shopping at exclusive boutiques like Chanel. They’re very much a show of togetherness despite their unwillingness to pose together on a red carpet. Look at how much Garner steps up her style when she’s in Europe supporting her husband. She’s wearing Louboutin pumps, smart tailored trousers, and a stylish fuzzy striped cardigan with a jaunty scarf. I would love to have that sweater! This was a well planned look, and she’s game for this outing with her husband. They even posed with fans.
Later, Ben took his wife out to a restaurant called La Fontaine de Mars. She’s wearing platform pumps, a very sexy black miniskirt paired with a blazer and another gray scarf. This woman is stunning when she puts forth a little effort. In this close up shot below, I get the impression that she’s had a little Botox too, but it’s perfect. Give me what she’s having.
Of course this is all about Argo and Ben’s Oscar campaign. It was second at the box office this opening weekend to Taken 2, which was in its second week. It’s not just about the numbers, which were solid. Ben is likely to get nominated in both the Best Picture and Director categories, and he’s campaigning hard. Part of that involves perhaps inadvertently revealing his lackluster feelings toward his wife, but he’s reigning it in and doing couple-y photo ops with Garner. I’m actually rooting for him and for the two of them as a couple. I like this family and I think Ben is a talented guy. He makes great movies, and he’s busted his ass for this comeback. I want to see him take home another Oscar. Do you remember his Oscar acceptance speech with Matt Damon in 1998? I just watched it again, and it made me so happy. He’ll be much more polished this time. Where is Matt’s follow-up Oscar?

Yesterday we heard a bunch of arguably mildly douchey quotes by Ben Affleck about his marriage and about other women he’s worked with. At least that’s what I read into it, some of you may disagree. To The Hollywood Reporter, Ben said he still e-mails his exes like Gwyneth Paltrow, some little-known girl he dated in high school, and Jennifer Lopez. He also said of his wife, that “We don?t have a perfect marriage, but she inspired me; and finding myself in that marriage and having a child dovetailed with getting to be a little more mature.” So Garner helped him grow basically. It just didn’t sound like high praise and more like grudging acceptance. When asked why he was drawn to Garner, Affleck said “She truly is kind. She means no one any harm. She doesn?t have ill will for any person. She?s not competitive with other people. She?s not spiteful. It?s one of those things where it becomes almost aggravating at times.” Uh oh, right?
Then, on Anderson Cooper, Ben sung Blake Lively’s praises while telling a story about her he loves to repeat. (You can read about it here.) He called Lively “fabulous and gorgeous,” while only saying Garner is “a saint and does so much of the work [raising their three kids] because I?m inept and she?s a genius.” He did call his marriage great, saying “Forty kind of coincided with having three kids and having this marriage that is great and working in ways that I am really proud of.” So that’s good, but it sounds more like he’s referring to his marriage as some kind of business project. I just would like to hear him sing Garner’s praises as more than just a mom, and to compliment her specifically. (Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it’s my job and I don’t knock it.)
Well now US Weekly has a little blurb of an article, basically saying that Garner has Ben under control. For now. I would bet one of them planted this as kind of a response to the negative publicity. Garner probably just shrugs when her husband says stuff that can be perceived as careless like “that’s Ben.” So maybe he runs his mouth more than he should but things are fine at home. Here’s more:
After seven years, Ben Affleck is still amazed at his luck in finding Jennifer Garner.
“Any man who wants to have a marriage work needs to know who the boss is,” the Argo actor-director, 40, recently said. “The smart thing about me is I know how great she is.”
The Butter actress, 40, has become adept at helping Affleck balance a career with kids Violet, 6, Seraphina, 3, and Samuel, 7 months.
“He tends to get wrapped up in work,” says a Garner confidant. “Jennifer is the one who can get him out if it.”
Adds the insider, “She has him figured out and will never let him down.”
Affleck detailed exactly what it is that first drew him to Garner during a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter.
“She truly is kind,” he gushed. “She means no one any harm. She doesn’t have ill will for any person. She’s not competitive with other people.”
Thanks to Garner’s unwavering support, Affleck says he’s in an incredibly positive place right now.
“I’m very lucky . . . I feel tremendously grateful,” he told Us at a screening of Argo earlier this week. “I have a great family. I’m very inspired by where my career is right now. I’m fortunate . . . I’m happy with where I am.”
It’s true that Ben has totally admitted that he doesn’t do much work around the house and that he gets wrapped up in work. That was in his Details interview. He did say on Anderson Cooper that they try to switch off caring for the kids when they’re working, and he told an anecdote about visiting Jennifer on set. You know that the childcare falls firmly on Jennifer’s shoulders and that he’s away working more of the time, not that they don’t have plenty of help.
I think what’s happening is that Ben is doing so much press for Argo that he’s starting to be too honest and is showing his cards. For someone so skilled at playing Poker, and playing the Hollywood game, he should get his head in it a little more. I don’t think it will affect his Oscar chances though, this is minor stuff that only us gossip sleuths are noticing.
As for Ben and Jen’s relationship, I would like him to appreciate her as more than just saving his ass at home with the kids. He may do that, but he’s not talking about it much. I have the feeling that if he lost her he’d know for sure what an incredible woman she is and what he’s missing. I don’t want them to break up though! I hope this is a wakeup call for him. I still like both of them, maybe a little more now that I know they’re having normal couple issues. Maybe this is all part of the damn Oscar plan!
Here’s Jennifer out in Santa Monica yesterday and on Capital Hill on Wednesday as part of a campaign for Save The Children. She’s shown out with Ben on 9-12-12. Ben is shown alone shopping at Barney’s yesterday. Credit: FameFlynet

| Jennifer Garner in grey Givenchy at the Variety event: boring or lovely? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are more photos from Friday night?s ?Annual Power of Women? event, which was hosted by Variety and Lifetime. Actresses and entertainers received awards for their charitable and philanthropic work. As I said before, the event got some A-listers and such, so it turned out to be a pretty great event, photo and fashion-wise. First up: Jennifer Garner in Givenchy. Yeah? I?m sorry to all of the Garner fan-girls out there, but I don?t think she looks very good here. The grey color is so boring (on a woman who has issues bringing her own sparkle to clothes, you know?), the fluttery hip detail is just dumb, and the top of the dress looks really binding and ill-fitting. I also think her hair is blah ? she looks like she just pulled it back into a ponytail for Violet?s soccer practice or something. And the SHOES. Dear God, the shoes are amazingly terrible. Something nice: her body looks good. Pretty, simple makeup. And her jewelry is nice.
Here?s Ashley Greene in a Roland Mouret dress ? Halle Berry was also wearing Mouret. Will you hate me if I say that I like Ashley?s dress more? Just in general. I don?t get the weird bunching in the mid-section, though. Is that a design flaw or an Ashley Greene flaw?
Jessica Biel in Gucci. I think we?ve already seen this exact dress featured on some magazine covers, but this might be the first red carpet appearance for the dress. And does Jessica do it justice? Eh. The dress feels very 1970s to me, but weirdly updated. Like, Jessica?s mother wore the original floor-length dress to Studio 54 and Jessica found the dress in the attic and she had it recut to suit her. The shoes are Louis Vuitton. I don?t hate them. Jessica?s bangs look a bit better too ? not so shaggy and long. She had them trimmed.
Stacy Keibler is so proud of herself! She managed to reemerge once again as George Clooney?s girlfriend and all is well with the world. Time for a victory lap through a big industry event. Notice that George is not contractually obligated to show up for Stacy at HER events. Stacy?s dress is Theory. Everybody is doing weird zipper details these days. Eh. Her hair looks better, right?

| Jennifer Garner in red Gucci at the 'Butter' screening in NYC: lovely or dated' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are some photos of the female stars of Butter, at the screening of the film in New York City last night. I just asked CB if it felt like Jennifer Garner had been promoting Butter for the past two years, because that?s the way it feels to me. We?ve seriously been covering photos and interviews in promotion for this film for a LONG time. The film finally gets a limited release next Friday.
Anyway, onto the fashion! Jennifer Garner wore Gucci? which is fascinating to me because Blake Lively currently has a Gucci contract. Cough. At first glance, the dress reminded me of that famous red Prada that Jennifer Aniston wore to the Emmys more than a decade ago, but really, this dress isn?t anything like it (except for being a shade of red, and strapless). While I like that Jennifer Garner went with a bold color, I think she would look better in a blue-red rather than this orange-red. She also needed to steam the dress. Oh, and she looks so much cuter when she does not flat-iron her hair and part it down the middle ? this hairstyle isn?t flattering her face at all. Something nice: her body looks great! I love her arms.
Olivia Wilde wore Alexander McQueen ? I really like this. It suits her, it flatters her, and I think Olivia has been looking really, really great lately. Maybe it?s because she?s in love with Jason Sudeikis and everything has come together? Or maybe she just found a great stylist.
Ashley Greene wore Donna Karan ? she?s the face of the label, and she?s been wearing a lot of Donna Karan over the past year, to mixed results. I kind of like this on her too, even though it’s bridesmaid-y and it sort of washes her out. And it?s kind of matronly for someone so young, but I still kind of like it. I could actually imagine Jennifer Garner in this. And say what you will about Ashley?s nose (is it a nose job? I?m not so sure), but Ashley has GREAT hair. Her hair is super-pretty.
