Continuing her global promotional duties, Taylor Swift showed up at London?s Kiss FM Studios on Wednesday morning (October 8).
The ?Should?ve Said No? singer looked retro-fabulous in a pair of Pink heels with a black dress with white zigzag accents as she plugged her forthcoming album 1989.
Meanwhile, Taylor has supposedly been trying to get her best gal pal Selena Gomez to relocate from sunny SoCal to the Big Apple.
Gomez told press, "I'd love to spend time in New York. I've always said that I want to have a love affair and live there. Taylor has been begging me to live there. She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.' Everyone always says I'm more New York when they meet me so maybe it would be good for me. I don't spend enough time there."

I can?t believe People Magazine gave Taylor Swift the cover this week! They just named her their Best Dressed Lady of the year, just a few weeks ago. But Swifty is still hustling for her new album, which I think will probably be another major hit for her. Her first single, ?Shake It Off,? is #1 on most charts and downloads. And for the People cover (which is an homage to a Mia Farrow cover), Swifty gave an exclusive interview.
Figuring out her life: “The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms. Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I’d try. It’s really been a liberating and freeing time.”
Embracing the single life: “I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you’re walking through life on your own, you end up figure out what you actually like without anyone else’s input. I’m not too worried about whether I meet someone. I’m going to be happy either way.”
All she needs is fur: “I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.?
What would it take for Swifty to find a boyfriend? ? It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different?a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don’t have any kid of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete. I think that’s a nice place to be.”
Boyfriend-dissing? “Emotionally speaking, 1989 is not a heartbreak record. My music is derived from what’s happening in my personal life, and I haven’t had my heart broke. You’re not going to her, oh, like, ‘boyfriend dissing.’ When I’m deeply hurt, I usually respond by writing exactly how I feel in a song, but I just haven’t been devastated in the last couple of years.?
[From People & E! News]
I?ll admit it, I?m kind of enjoying the new and improved Swifty. She needed to change it up from the stalker-eyed lovesick girl always getting her heart broken. The New Swifty is more at peace. As for having her heart broken recently? the most recent split was Harry Styles, as far as I know. Before that it was Conor Kennedy, but I think she did the dumping with Conor.
So, who should Swifty?s next boyfriend be? I?m at a loss, actually. Maybe we should introduce her to Prince Harry, just to see what happens.
Here are some pics of Swifty outside of BBC Radio 2 today.

Showing some love to her French fans, Taylor Swift stepped out for an appearance on ?C a Vous? in Paris on Tuesday morning (October 7).
The ?Shake It Off? songstress looked a bit chilly as she navigated her way through the City of Lights in a beige coat and strappy peep-toe heels.
Taylor is busy drumming up interest in her forthcoming album 1989, though it looks like the nasty Parisian fall weather has put a damper on her tourist activities.
On Monday (October 6) Swifty snapped a photo of the Eiffel Tower however she wasn?t able to actually ascend the famous landmark.
She posted the shot to Instagram along with the message, ?The Eiffel Tower outside my car window. Would've gotten out but it was raining and ew.?

Taylor Swift covers the new issue of FASHION Magazine (Canada). It?s a decent shoot, but that?s mostly because I love some good coat p0rn. There?s a chill in the air and I want that light grey-ish coat!! Anyway, Swifty is promoting her new album, 1989, and she?s still giving pretty decent interviews. Some highlights from the FASHION article:
On poetic justice: ?I feel like writing a song is sort of the last piece of the puzzle of solving whatever mystery I?m trying to solve emotionally. Things that kind of torture and haunt me a little bit are usually put to rest when I figure out a way to say it in a song. There?s a strange, eerie form of justice that happens when someone treats you terribly, you write a song about it, and that song ends up playing all over the world. You know at some point they?ve heard it in the grocery store, and they can?t escape.?
On being emotionally vulnerable: ?As a songwriter you have to open yourself up over and over again to pain and rejection ? and doing that at the stage my career is in, the stakes are pretty high. So if you get your heart broken, you get your heart broken on the cover of magazines that are all over the world. But I think that it?s important to continue to live your life, and not be guarded or standoffish or keep people at a distance.?
On her changing values: ?When I was in my late teens and early twenties, I was just fascinated by romance. I think now the most important thing to me is the opinions of the sisterhood of friends that I have now ? I think that my girlfriends have been what has shaped me more in the past year and a half than any other factor.?
On girlfriends versus sycophants: “Celebrities surround themselves with people who don’t know what they want and only have you to validate their lives?that’s not interesting to me. You should not be threatened by women who are pretty and charismatic and good at what they do?my girlfriends have shaped me more in the past year and a half than any other factor. I’ve never had more friends who I trust and can rely on, but there’s always a bit of your self-perception that’s frozen in junior high, when you trained yourself to not feel cool. You’ll never really feel like you’re part of the ?in’ crowd, but growing up means that matters to you less and less every day.”
Why she sings blind-item songs: ?You have to give emotion in order to evoke emotion in people. What I see cutting through are singers who give details and insights about their lives, because people feel appreciative that you?ve trusted them with that information. Being revealing can present itself in different ways?I?ve chosen to do it emotionally because that feels more natural to me.?
[From Fashion Magazine]
Do you believe her? I think she gives some seemingly reasonable and well-explained justifications for why she sings her blind-item songs and why she slammed so many of her exes musically. But here?s the part that I don?t really understand: ?there’s always a bit of your self-perception that’s frozen in junior high, when you trained yourself to not feel cool.? There?s a lot wrong with that statement, and she?s throwing it out there like it?s a universal experience. No, Taylor, many of us are not stuck in the junior high mindset of coolness rankings. And I really don?t get ?when you trained yourself to not feel cool.? As in? she?s always been cool but in junior high she trained herself to not feel cool and now she?s returning to her coolness? Good lord. This whole conversation about coolness is so middle school.
Also: “You should not be threatened by women who are pretty and charismatic and good at what they do.” Good advice, Swifty. Now let’s see you follow it. Lyrically and in real life.

Taylor Swift covers the November issue of Vogue UK. It?s a decent-to-great cover, I think. But I usually think Vogue UK has better covers than American Vogue. It helps that Vogue UK?s editors were like ?ENOUGH WITH THE BANGS? and just slicked back Swifty?s hair. That?s a major improvement in and of itself. As for the interview? Swifty talks about how she doesn?t need a boyfriend at this point in her life because of logistics and how she went through a lot of phases when she was younger. Some highlights:
She can?t have a boyfriend right now: “Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can’t picture how it could work with the way my life is. I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose. I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself.”
Men still pursue her: “They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it.?
Her youthful phases: “The one thing I wish these girls that come to my shows knew is that they are exactly where I was when I was a teenager. I had no idea who I was! I was going through all these phases. I was trying on different outfits and all these different personalities, trying to figure out what category I fit into, and which clique I would be accepted in. But if you just keep doing ‘you’, and being who you are and doing what feels natural to you, maybe you won’t find a place where you fit in for a very long time, but you eventually will.?
Her new album: “This time around I’ve chosen the brave and bold way of going about things. Because with this album I’ve completely changed the sound of everything I’ve done until now. So it’s interesting to not be afraid of that. You know, I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, I don’t want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist.”
[From Vogue UK via E! News]
Ooooh, did she just shade country music/Nashville as a whole? I think she did. Taylor Swift to Nashville: We are never, ever getting back together. Swifty to country music: I wanted to challenge myself as an artist, that?s why we?re over, it?s not you, it?s me. Here?s the thing: as a layman, I don?t think one form of music is any more or less challenging. Like, why would pop music be more challenging than country? I genuinely don?t understand.

| Taylor Swift on feminism, gender equality: 'We have to stop making it a girlfight' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

You know what genuinely surprised me last week? I was surprised that Emma Watson?s speech on feminism and gender equality at the United Nations became such a huge deal. The video (and text) went viral and it seemed like everybody had an opinion about it. While I thought Emma?s speech was very good, I really didn?t think it was groundbreaking in the least. I mean, she didn?t throw down any feminist gauntlets or anything like that. She just eloquently described feminism and how it affects her life. Anyway, Taylor Swift has only recently self-identified as feminist and she too has some thoughts on Emma?s speech. Swifty gave an interview to the French-Canadian talk show Tout Le Monde En Parle (you can see the video here). Some assorted quotes:
Swifty on watching Emma?s speech: ?I wish I was 12 years old and I?d been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful, poignant way the definition of feminism because I would have understood it and then earlier on in my life I would have proudly claimed that I was a feminist because I would?ve understood what the word means.?
Gender equality: ?The one thing I do believe as a feminist is that in order for us to have gender equality we have to stop making it a girl fight and we have to stop being so interested in seeing girls trying to tear each other down ? it has to be more about cheering each other on as women.?
On how many girls don?t understand what feminism means: ?So many girls out there say ?I?m not a feminist? because they think it means something angry or disgruntled or complaining. They picture like rioting and picketing, it is not that at all, it just simply means that you believe that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities? To say you?re not a feminist means that you think men should have more rights and opportunities than women.?
Her view on sexism in the media: ?I think when it comes to females in the media you?ll see something that kind of upsets me which is that females are pinned up against each other more so than men. You know you never see ?vote for who has the better butt – this actor or this actor.? It?s always this female singer and this female singer.?
Female artists expressing their sexuality: ?I think that no other female artist should be able to tell me to wear less clothes and I?m not going to tell any other female artist to wear more clothes. As long as it?s their idea, and they?re expressing their sexuality or they?re expressing their strength or it makes them feel like a woman to perform a certain way or dress a certain way? as long as it?s coming from them and they?re living their life on their own terms, I cheer them on.
[From Buzzfeed]
Our little Swifty is growing up, y?all. Her explanation of how she views gender equality and sexism are much, much better. Taylor used to be one of those girls who thought ?feminist? equaled ?man-hating.? Then Lena Dunham (of all people) converted Swifty to feminism, but Swifty still couldn?t explain it properly. She?s made significant improvements very quickly. Good for her!

| Taylor Swift explains why she's been carrying Olivia the kitty around NYC | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Taylor Swift has been doing photo-ops with her youngest kitty, Olivia Benson, for more than a week now. The paparazzi are always outside of Swifty?s apartment building, so they?ve gotten three different sets of photos on multiple days of Swifty carrying Olivia in her arms. There is no kitty carrier, no leash, nothing to protect the cat if Olivia decides she wants no part in Swifty?s album promotion. People have shown some concern. But Swifty says it?s all a misunderstanding:
Taylor Swift fans have all seen those paparazzi photos of her walking around New York City apartment carrying her new kitten named Olivia Benson. While there’s been much speculation about this practice — and even suggestions that she’s committing a serious error with such cavalier cat-handling — Swift said there’s a simple explanation.
“The kitten freaks out about being put in the cat carrier … she freaks out when she’s in there,” she told Access Hollywood. “So I was just like, ‘OK, all right, we’re gonna just do this!’”
Swift also noted that she’s not walking the streets of New York City holding her cat on one arm.
“It was like a ten foot walk from my door to the car!” she explained. “What I thought was funny about those pictures is that, like, the cat is looking straight at the cameras!”
[From ABC News]
Yeah, she totally doesn?t answer the most important question: why is Olivia rolling with Swifty?s crew these days? Why does the cat need to leave the house in her mom?s arms three times (at least) in a nine-day time frame? As for Olivia?s hatred of kitty carriers? some cats hate them, some love them. My mom?s Maine Coons love the kitty carriers. Sidenote: I recently picked up one of the Maine Coons, thinking she would be light because she just seems like she?s all-fur and I was astonished by how heavy she is. I would not be able to carry her around like this with one arm. Then again, Swifty?s Scottish Fold kitties are a lot smaller.

Here are some photos of Taylor Swift at the iHeartRadio event over the weekend, where she performed. The tube-top ensemble is Calvin Klein, by the way. She?s probably trying to look like it?s 1989 (ugh). I wish we had the new photos of Swifty taking Olivia Benson the Scottish Fold out for another walk, but we don?t have them! You can see them here. That?s going to be her new thing, her new album promotion. She?s going to walk around New York with her cats.
Anyway, about a week ago, Swifty did something nice for some select group of fans. She invited her fans into her home, she baked them cookies and let them hear her new album. According to E!, Swifty ?said they were allowed to share anything from their experience at the event, with the exception of the song titles and lyrics.? So, obviously, the fans kept their word. The fans have only dished on some of the gossip Swifty served up, like what it was like to date Harry Styles. I?ll admit, this shiz made me laugh.
They only dated for a few months in 2012, but Taylor Swift and Harry Styles quickly became one of the most talked about celebrity couples. Now, with the ?Shake It Off? singer releasing her first new album since the breakup, the exes? relationship has made its way back into the spotlight.
Last weekend, Taylor invited a group of her fans to hang out at her Los Angeles home, where she fed them pizza and hosted a listening party of her upcoming record 1989, which isn?t due out until Oct. 27. During the super-exclusive event, the 24-year-old described the inspiration behind each song, and told attendees they could share details about anything from their experience except song titles and lyrics.
Well, while opening up to her biggest supporters, Taylor apparently spilled some details about what it was like dating the famous boybander. One attendee recalls, ?She described it like trying to build a fire out of two twigs and everyone is yelling at the fire, ?I hate your fire,? and blowing out the sparks.?
[From Star Magazine]
LMAO. Amazing metaphor, Swifty!! That?s such a middle-school way of describing it. But it?s also totally Swifty ? she and Harry burned so brightly, you know. They were fiery and misunderstood but everyone hated their fire and tried to destroy their beautiful fire and that?s why they broke up. Except they really broke up because Swifty was playing games and Harry was over it so he dumped her while they were on vacation.

As my regular readers know, I’ve really come around on Taylor Swift. Who cares if her music is garbage and she still acts like she’s a teenage girl even though she’s 24? | Taylor Swift is People Mag's Best Dressed of 2014: good call or bad pick' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

People Magazine has released their Best Dressed List for 2014, and OMG is it bland. Really, ridiculously bland. Taylor Swift is this year?s best dressed lady. YES, that Taylor Swift. To be honest, I think Swifty?s style has greatly improved over the past year, especially since she moved to New York and she?s been doing the millennial Sex & the City thing, with lots of leggy photo-ops in short skirts and good shoes. She?s moved away from J.Mendel princess frocks in pastel colors for EVERY appearance, but let?s not pretend that ?most improved? is the same as ?best dressed.?
When the Style team gathered to choose the Best Dressed Star of the Year, one name kept coming up: Taylor Swift. She seems to have truly hit her style stride in the past 12 months, nailing every off-duty and red carpet look, whether it’s sweet separates or dazzling designer gowns like this Gucci Premire design at the Grammys. And we’re not the only ones giving fashion props to the singer; model BFF Karlie Kloss tells PEOPLE, “She’s got great style. I need to take some notes from her!”
[From People]
You can see People?s Best Dressed package here. The list also includes Blake Lively (ugh), Diane Kruger (word, she?s got awesome style), Jennifer Lopez (she?s glam but there are issues), Emma Stone (I?m okay with that), Lupita Nyong?o (YES), Jessica Alba (basic), Rihanna (??), Emma Watson (???), Chloe Grace Moretz and Kiernan Shipka (she?s fab). I?m sorry, NO Cate Blanchett? Any best-dressed list that does not include La Blanchett is null and void. I also wonder why there?s only ONE woman in her 40s on this list. And what about the over-50 stylish ladies? You know who has great older-lady style? Helen Mirren.
