It?s time for another Taylor track, and this time Miss Swift has unveiled the very first song on her forthcoming 1989 album.
Titled ?Welcome to New York,? the catchy ditty describes Taylor?s experience moving to the Big Apple and her love for her new home.
The ?Out of the Woods? songstress sings, ?Walking through a crowd, the Village is aglow, Kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats/ Everybody here wanted something more/ Searching for a sound we hadn?t heard before.?
Taylor wrote ?Welcome to New York? with One Direction singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder, who also served as producer. 1989 hits stores on October 27th.

Taylor Swift is sort of a genius about how she promotes her albums. She?s able to change it up over the years, and she still manages to keep it fresh. I also applaud her for consistently hustling ? she believes in doing the interviews, she believes in making the TV appearances and shilling and asking people to care about her music. I like that about her. Taylor just previewed the third song off of her new 1989 album. This song is called ?Welcome to New York? and obvious song is obvious. I mean, it?s not bad or anything (it?s no ?Hot Child in the City? but whatever), but it?s so obviously about Taylor moving to New York and setting herself up as a nouveau Carrie Bradshaw, only with more music and less sex. Here you go:
Taylor also did a surprisingly good interview with Australia?s 2DayFM. She talks about songwriting and writing about ex-boyfriends and whether it?s ?sexist? that she gets made fun of while Ed Sheeran is also writing about his ex-girlfriends. Taylor is very? I don?t know. She?s grown up a lot in the past few years. She?s more confident, but it?s more than that ? she?s actively participating in making her image more mature. Like, she?s not doing the innocent-little-girl routine anymore. Thank God. Here?s Taylor talking about sexism in how the media treats her blind-item:
?My first album came out when I was 16, so I would write about my life as I saw it, as I felt it, and then what happens is as you get more successful, which you?re lucky if that happens, you have more and more people paying attention to what you?re doing and you?ve been doing it the same way your entire career as a songwriter, but all of a sudden the perspective has changed. They use kind of you writing songs about your life as a way to play detective and for me I have a really strict personal policy that I never name names, so anybody saying that a song is about a specific person is purely speculating? You?re going to have people who are gonna say, ?Oh you know, like she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends,? and I think, frankly, that?s just a very sexist angle to take. No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says it about Bruno Mars. They?re all writing about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no one raises a red flag there.?
[From Gossip Cop]
To be fair, when Ed Sheeran followed Swifty?s lead and wrote a blind-item song called ?Don?t,? it was as big a deal as Swifty?s blind-item songs. And from what I?ve heard of Bruno Mars? songs, he doesn?t really frame them like blind items. Same with Sam Smith, who goes so far as to make his songs gender neutral so all people can relate to them, gay or straight. Plus, Swifty not only writes songs about specific exes, she also writes songs about girls she hates. So, is it sexist to talk about Swifty?s songs? Eh. Here’s the video of the interview… despite the fact that I’m rolling my eyes at Swifty’s “sexist” argument, I like her whole vibe here. Our Swifty is growing up, you guys.

She?s an endless source of pop music magic, and Taylor Swift just unveiled her latest track from the forthcoming 1989 album.
The ?Shake It Off? songstress? new ditty is called ?Welcome to New York? and features plenty of 1980s synth and multi-layered vocals.
Swift explained, ?The first song on 1989 is a song called ?Welcome to New York? and I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years.?
?You know, I dreamt about moving to New York. I obsessed over moving to New York and then I did it. The inspiration that I found in that city is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I?ve ever experienced in my life. It?s like an electric city and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism and sort of saw it as a place of endless potential and possibilities. You can kind of hear that reflected in this music and in this first song especially. This is a song I did with Ryan Tedder called ?Welcome to New York.??

Continuing her domination of the music world, Taylor Swift gave fans who pre-ordered her forthcoming 1989 album a special treat today (October 14).
The ?Should?ve Said No? songstress released her latest track ?Out of the Woods? via iTunes this morning, telling USA Today, ?I think it?s the greatest example of the sound of this album.?
Co-writer Jack Antonoff also explained, "I used a Yamaha DX7 a lot on that song, which is so uniquely Eighties, but then countered it with a super-distorted Minimoog Voyager in the chorus. That sounds extremely modern to me. It's that back-and-forth."
And as could be expected, ?Out of the Woods? is already at the top of the iTunes singles chart, followed closely behind by her previous release ?Shake It Off.?

Kicking off the week with a catchy ditty, Taylor Swift unleashed her brand new track ?Out of the Woods? on ?Good Morning America.?
The ?Should?ve Said No? songstress explained that the music of the song is consistent with the lyrical content as well as the mood of the writing process.
?I wanted to makes sure the songs sounded exactly the way the emotions felt. This was a relationship where I was kind of, living day to day, wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day.?
?It was a relationship where you, kind of, never feel like you?re standing on solid ground,? she added. Swift?s ?Out of the Woods? single hits stores on Tuesday (October 14).

She?s traded the serial dating scene for a few furry felines, and Taylor Swift has no shame about her ?crazy cat lady? tendencies.
While chatting on the ?Graham Norton Show,? the ?Shake It Off? singer showed some snapshots of her two pet cats.
However, when ?Monty Python? legend John Cleese saw the photo of Swift?s newest addition Olivia Benson, he seemed a bit concerned.
He asked, ?How did it have the accident?? Taylor fired back, ?What accident?? to which John inquired, ?Is that a proper cat? Is it damaged irrevocably? It?s the weirdest cat I?ve ever seen in my life.?

Adding to her already impressive list of accomplishments, Taylor Swift learned this afternoon (October 10) that she is Billboard?s 2014 Woman of the Year.
The 24-year-old is familiar with the prestigious honor as it?s the second time she?s been awarded the recognition.
Taylor is slated to receive the prize at the year?s Women in Music event, while is held at New York City?s Cipriani on Wall Street on December 12.
?As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts," Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media?s Entertainment Group, told press.
"Over the course of her career, she?s charted 60 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 -- the most of any female artist since her debut in 2006. We are tremendously excited to be honoring her as the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time."

With the massive success of ?Shake It Off,? Taylor Swift is ready to release the follow-up track from her forthcoming 1989 album.
The ?Love Story? singer posted a photo via Instagram earlier today, indicating that her next single will be ?Out of the Woods,? and it?s rumored to be about Harry Styles.
Swift previously told Rolling Stone about the ditty, stating, ?Every day was a struggle. Forget making plans for life- we were just trying to make it to next week.?
As for the lyrics, Swift (along with fun guitarist Jack Antonoff) penned, "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon/Twenty stitches in a hospital room."
Meanwhile, Antonoff told Rolling Stone, ?The thing I love about that song is parts of it reads like a diary and parts of it read like something 100,000 people should be screaming all together. It?s got these very big lines that everybody can relate to, which are given weight by her being really honest about personal things.?
