Yesterday, I wrote about Gwyneth Paltrow and whether we should even make fun of her anymore. You guys had a lot to say, and I totally hear you. I?ve always thought that Gwyneth was a snot, a sanctimonious elitist, and completely worthy of any mockery you wanted to throw her way. I?ve just been feeling a pang of sympathy for her lately - I honestly think she?s in a bad place. Her makeup has been trashy, she?s been wearing lots of ?look at me, I?m so young and I have a great body? clothes, her face was looking jacked and Botoxy for a while, and this whole mess with her ?singing? career? well, I just think Gwyneth is kind of rough lately. But if you want to continue to mock her Goopy ways, by all means. I?ll cosign. Especially if you want to laugh at this latest news - it seems Gwyneth is close to signing a deal to record her own album. Her own COUNTRY album. Oh, Goop.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s been shopping for a music deal, is in advanced talks with Atlantic Records, Page Six has learned. The Oscar-winning actress is poised to sign a contract with the Warner Music-owned label to produce a country album following her starring role in “Country Strong.”
Paltrow, 38, is married to Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, which is signed to EMI. She recently showed off her singing skills on “Glee,” at the Country Music Awards, the Grammys — where she writhed in a tight, black body suit on a baby grand piano to perform “Forget You” with Cee Lo — and at the Oscars, where she performed the nominated song “Coming Home.”
A source told us, “Gwyneth’s agents have been talking to a number of labels about landing her a substantial record deal. Those who have heard the music say it’s country pop. Many labels would be reluctant to give a deal to a star whose first priority is film, but in recent weeks there have been discussions with Atlantic. Gwyneth is a very different name for Atlantic, and one who brings a lot of recognition.” Its roster includes Sean Paul, B.o.B, T.I., James Blunt, Janelle Monae, Zero 7, Phil Collins and Kid Rock.
Paltrow recently said she was discussing possible contracts with several labels, and said on the Oscars red carpet, “We’re talking about it now. So we’ll see.”
She also reprises her role on “Glee” as substitute teacher Holly Holiday tomorrow, saying she accepted the part because: “I thought, ‘How much fun it would it be to sing and dance and just be ridiculous and silly?’ I’m just having so much fun. My parts were usually quite serious, and I was looking for something fun and different to do.”
While some music critics were not bowled over by her performances, Gwyneth has big aspirations. She’d like to record with Jay-Z, a close friend of her and Martin. She added during red-carpet interviews, “I think we’d be a good combination.”
Paltrow’s rep didn’t get back to us, and Atlantic declined to comment.

More songs about double-wides? More songs about drinkin? and brawlin? and twangin?? Jesus. Okay, I get that you don?t NEED a good voice to record an album. Katy Perry and Rihanna prove that, over and over. But why this midlife career change for a woman who is basically a more elite version of a Real Housewife? Her voice isn?t great, she can?t carry a movie by herself anymore, her marriage to certified rock star Chris Martin is? not going very well. Is the answer for Gwyneth to start a new career as some kind of Faith Hill wannabe?

As I mentioned during our Oscar coverage, at some point over the past month, I?ve just started feeling bad for Gwyneth Paltrow. Like, I have genuine sympathy for her because she just seems so tragic these days. It?s not even a schadenfreude situation where I can be like, ?Haha, Gwyneth?s husband hates her and she?s desperate for attention, how deliciously pathetic.? It?s more like Gwyneth is trying much, much too hard and I?m embarrassed for her and how badly she seems to be doing. Take her overall appearance at the Oscars - I liked her first red carpet dress, a metallic Calvin Klein, and then she changed into this beige Michael Kors that made her look thick-waisted and Real Housewife-y. And then she had to sing after Florence Welsh. And Gwyneth?s voice? isn?t as strong as she thinks it is. Taken with everything else - the fact that her husband couldn?t care less, her faltering career, her Botoxy face, her snotty, lie-filled musings on Goop (in an attempt to be elite), and her general aura of sadness - should we even make fun of Gwyneth anymore?
With that question in mind, I present you with Gwyneth?s latest performance on Glee. She covers Joan Jett?s ?Do You Wanna Touch Me?:
She?s just so? unsexy. The leather pants, the jacked Goopy tittays, the bony ass trying to strut, the lack of rhythm, the fast cuts used to mask how gross and weird all of this is. I feel like Gwyneth is trying to project this image of new herself: the woman who has always been fun and ?hip? and is even more fun and hip now that she?s hanging out with the cool teenagers on the ?coolest? show on TV. You know what it what reminds me of? My mom talking about how 50 cent is a ?sellin? out?. I just want to shake Goop a little and yell at her: ?You?re almost 40 years old. It?s fine. You can go home and be with your kids and you don?t have to work so damn hard to be ?cool? anymore.?

Looking for some post-Oscar action, Taylor Swift and Emma Stone were spotted at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in West Hollywood last night (February 27).
The ?You Belong with Me? songstress and the ?Easy A? actress both looked fabulous as they arrived at the Graydon Carter-hosted event at the Sunset Tower Hotel.
While at the soiree, Taylor also found time to catch up with fellow Hollywood hotties Selena Gomez and Gwyneth Paltrow, who sang ?Coming Home? at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards earlier in the night.
And prior to the party, Miss Stone mingled with some of Tinseltown?s biggest names at the 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party.

God, did anyone else end up feeling sorry for Gwyneth Paltrow after last night? Usually, she?s a total snot at these kinds of events, but it really felt like the universe was conspiring against her. First, she wore this really pretty Calvin Klein metallic gown, which would have been one of the best dresses of the evening? if not for these weird tracks around her waist:
What is up with that? Other than what I can only imagine is some kind of issue with the fit, I take issue with Gwyneth?s hair. The blonde, specifically. She?s been doing this too-blonde, barely-any-roots thing for a while, and it makes her look washed out and older. Oh, and when the camera got in close on Goop, her face looked ROUGH.
Beyond that, it just felt like Goop wasn?t bringing her snotty A-game. No Chris Martin to support her on her big Oscar debut as a singer, of course. Because in my opinion, Chris barely cares what Gwyneth has going on, EVER. And then to make matters worse, Oscar producers made her sing right after Florence Welsh from Florence and the Machine! Florence might not be a fashionista, but her voice is AMAZING. And the difference between Dame Goop and Dame Florence was really, really obvious when Goop sang her little song about ?double wides?. Which never fails to make me laugh. As for her performance in general - she looked so nervous, and it?s really obvious that her voice isn?t quite as strong as she thinks it is. Here is the Michael Kors dress that Gwyneth performed in, and wore to the after-parties. Meh - I hate Goop in neutrals. The cut doesn?t compliment her body either! She looks thick-waisted here. Poor Goop, right? She?s totally off her game. A divorce announcement soon, you think?

She?s made the transition from actress to singer look effortless, and Gwyneth Paltrow's performance at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards was one of the night?s memorable moments.
The ?Shakespeare In Love? actress gave a heartfelt rendition of ?Coming Home? from her hit movie ?Country Strong.?
Gwyneth?s song was nominated for Best Song from a Motion Picture, though Randy Newman?s ?We Belong Together? from ?Toy Story 3? ended up winning.
The Oscars were hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway, both of whom did stellar jobs with the gig.

Showing off her impeccable sense of style, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted on the red carpet at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards tonight (February 27).
The ?Country Strong? actress donned a sparkly silver Calvin Klein dress teamed with matching heels as she strolled around outside the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
In career news, Ms. Paltrow is set to reprise her role as Holly Holliday in a new episode of ?Glee? scheduled to air next month.
Gwyneth will substitute for New Direction?s sex education teacher. John Stamos will also make an appearance, playing Dr. Carl.

So to make up for posting pictures of Roseanne Barr earlier, here are some pictures of Gwyneth Paltrow in a bikini. I personally find her insufferably full of herself with her stupid GOOP website from which she bestows us peasants with her inspired ideas from on high. But she still has a nice body, so I give you permission to ogle her. So here she is in Barbados, which I’m sure she’ll give all sorts of helpful tips for when you plan your yearly trip there. What? You can’t afford to go to Barbados? Poorplebeian. I’m sure it’s your fault that you’re not as rich and successful as she is. If you would just live your life with a little more GOOP, you could be just like her.

I have a six year old son I could tell you about for hours. He’s awesome, he’s funny, he’s the smartest - just like your kid! This morning he went to school dressed in some navy cords from JcPenney, a Star Wars Lego t-shirt that cost like $7.50 at Peebles (on sale and he picked it out) and a sweatshirt from Old Navy. I think I got his shoes at Walmart. As terrible as that sounds to those of you who pay attention to the plight of workers in the third world it was cheap and we don’t have the disposable income to buy expensive clothes for our son. What’s more is that if I was rolling in it I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on clothes that my kid will grow out of in a few months anyway. Designer clothes on children is a pet peeve of mine.
In Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest Goop she talks about getting your kids clothing from lines that are producing “very unique, very cool, and not yet ubiquitous things for the little ones in your life.” I guess that could be cool if you have the money for it, but like most things that Gwynnie does it smacks of elitism. Sometimes she’ll throw some clothes from Top Shop or H&M into her clothing newsletters, but in this one there’s nothing mass market to be found. You can read the post here and I’m not going to excerpt it. The cheapest thing is a pair of knee socks that cost $24 USD (after currency conversion) and the most expensive is a hooded sweater/”jumper,” “made exclusively in Bolivia from local Alpaca wool” that retails for $105.
So it’s not quite insanely expensive like Suri’s wardrobe, but these are clothes for kids. They will gladly wear t-shirts from Target and think they’re cool, they just won’t look well dressed to the other well heeled mommies. Isn’t that what this is really all about? Isn’t that what Gwyneth is all about? Maybe she’s just helping some clothing designers out though, right?

Keeping the high-energy Grammy vibe going, Cee Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow performed a killer duet of ?Forget You? last night (February 13).
The ?Crazy? singer and the ?Country Strong? babe both looked to be having a fantastic time as they performed the controversial hit.
Cee Lo donned an Elton John-esque getup complete with gold head covering, oversized sunglasses, and a furry suit complete with peacock tail.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth added some sex appeal in a low-neckline getup teamed with a pair of fabulous high heels.
