Sometimes it’s just too easy to hate on Gwyneth because she’s so bloody unaware of the reality of the world outside of her own well-financed little bubble. She’s constantly doing pretentious stuff like selling her own $400 Goop-branded colon cleanses and exposing her own hypocrisy by shilling frozen processed food when she thinks the peasants aren’t watching. However, Goop wants us all to know that she knows we make fun of her, and she has alluded to as much during a guest spot on this morning’s episode of ABC’s “The Chew,” which is co-hosted by her dear friend Mario Batali. During her visit, the hosts asked her several quick questions during the Celebrity Egg Timer portion of the show. Her answers were less than illuminating.
During the sixty seconds (of hell), Goop sort of makes fun of Goop, and she admits once again to not being able to do her own makeup. Surprisingly, Goop did not find a way to namedrop Beyonce during these sixty seconds, although she did work in an obsequious reference to Batali himself. The video clip isn’t cooperating too well with an embed, but you can watch it here, and here are some excerpts.
The best dish that Chris ever cooked: “Ummm, nothing.”
The funniest person she knows: “My dad. He’s dead. Does that still count?”
When she feels the sexiest: “When Mario Batali is cooking.”
When she had her last hangover: “After the Oscars.”
What her blog would be called if it wasn’t Goop: “SpoiledWhiteRichGirl.com”
What she had for breakfast: “Coffee.”
Her essential makeup item: “Makeup? Um, I would say maybe blush? I don’t know, I’m not so good at makeup.”
[From Popwatch]
So has Gwyneth earned any points of goodwill by making fun of herself with the “SpoiledWhiteRichGirl.com” quip? Some people might think so, but to me, it feels like Goop is just passive-aggressively hitting out at those who’ve pointed out the ridiculousness of her website, which is essentially a compilation of weekly newsletters urging the peasants to buy $50 blank notebooks, $75 cake knives, and $1850 watches. This is not to mention her outrageous spring wardrobe recommendations — last year’s cost $18,000, and this year’s costs in excess of $20,000. Sure Goop gets that we all think she’s a pretentious, snobby brat, but she still thinks that we’re all wrong. In Gwyneth’s mind, she’s white and rich but definitely not spoiled. After all, it’s not her problem that she refuses to relate to anyone who makes a mere $25,000 per year. It’s our problem, right?

Talking about everything from her Oscars gown to family favorite recipes, Gwyneth Paltrow made an appearance on ABC's "The Chew" on Friday (March 2).
The "Shakespeare In Love" star looked like a pro in the kitchen as she whipped up husband Chris Martin's favorite dish - which happens to be chicken and dumplings - while chatting it up with Mario Batali.
The 39-year-old also shared some tips with the viewers and audience members about how to keep a slim figure as she promoted her new cookbook, "My Father's Daughter."
So is dieting the secret to the gorgeous blonde's slim figure? Not exactly.
While talking to "The Chew" crew, Paltrow explained, "I actually eat whatever I want. I work out a lot. I can't diet. I'm not good at cutting things out, and as soon as someone tells me you can't eat that I eat twice as much."
Also giving a little insight into her workout routine, Gwyneth told, "It is an hour and a half strict every day, well, five days a week."

Yes, we?re still doing some backup coverage from the Oscars. So let?s keep talking about one of the most talked-about looks from the Oscars, Gwyneth Paltrow and goopy superhero cape, all by Tom Ford. Now that I?m some-odd 40 hours removed from Super-Goop?s cape, I do have to admit? it was a smart look, style-wise. If she had just gone with the Tom Ford gown, it would have been too plain, too bridal. With the cape, she really snazzed it up, though. Too bad she took off the cape for her presenting duties, and for the after-parties. I would have enjoyed it more if she rocked the cape all night.
In other Goop news, while Gwyneth was at the Governor?s Ball (just after the Oscars), she was asked about her BFF Beyonce and little Blue Ivy. Gwyneth deigned to speak about BIC!
She’s only seven-weeks-old, but Blue Ivy Carter is destined to become a star like her parents Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z.
“She is going to be an entertainer,” Gwyneth Paltrow, 39, explained to Hollywood Life at the Governor’s Ball Sunday. “She just has this glow around her like her mother.”
Paltrow has been close pals with the hip-hop power couple for more than a decade. “Beyonce is doing great,” Paltrow said of the first-time mom, who welcomed Blue Ivy in New York City on January 7. “She’s just a natural at being a mom.”
As for Blue Ivy? “She’s stunning,” Paltrow gushed. “She has the most beautiful eyes.”
Though Paltrow wowed at Sunday’s 84th Annual Academy Awards in L.A. wearing a Tom Ford design, Knowles, 30, and Jay-Z, 42, were on the opposite coast dining in New York City’s West Village Saturday afternoon.
[From Us Weekly]
I hate it when people talk about how a baby is going to be a ?star?. I know it?s just filler chatter and it doesn?t mean anything, but I feel like it?s wrong to put that on a damn baby, you know? What if Blue Ivy wants to be a teacher?
Oh, and I know CB will enjoy this – I found this interview with Gwyneth?s makeup artist for the Oscars, who is kind of delusional about how Gwyneth?s makeup situation looks so, so rough.
Gwyneth Paltrow sported an “elegantly bronzed” look on the Oscars red carpet, says her make-up artist. The actress dazzled at the 84th Annual Academy Awards in a chic caped Tom Ford gown and minimal accessories. Gwyneth worked with beauty professional Leslie Lopez to achieve her stunning make-up.
Leslie explained she wanted to create a look that “complemented the dress and was still sophisticated enough for the red carpet,” describing it as “elegantly bronzed”.
According to website Beauty High, the make-up artist started with NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in order to give Gwyneth a “dewy base”. She then created a radiant glow with Super Orgasm Illuminator on the “apples of her cheeks”.
For the eyes, Leslie applied Alhambra Duo Eyeshadow on the eyelid for a “pop of gold colour”. She then added Maybelline’s brown liquid eyeliner in the lash line. She finished the overall look with NARS Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara and used a slick of gloss on Gwyneth’s pout.
Meanwhile, hairstylist Adir Abergel created a “sleek and modern interpretation of the low-nape ponytail.” He prepped Gwyneth’s hair with Fekkai Coiff Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to ends of her damp hair. He then created a deep side parting using a comb and blow dried the hair without a brush, making sure to “keep the part and desired shape to the hair.”
Adir then flat ironed the hair until it was “completely smooth” and pulled the hair back into a low ponytail. The hair professional chose to allow the elastic hairbands to show as he wanted to give Gwyneth’s tresses a bit of “raw edge”.
[Via The Telegraph]
The rubber band in her hair just killed me – that was worse than the too-orange makeup (which was caked on, as you could see when she was on stage). There?s nothing ?raw edge? about wearing a rubber band in your hair at THE OSCARS. Especially with that sleek Tom Ford look – the rubber band was just tacky. Peasant-y, if you will.
Oh – people claim that Chris Martin came out to party with Goop after the Oscars. I haven?t seen one photo of him, though.

I cannot stress this enough: Gwyneth Paltrow came to the Oscars wearing a CAPE. ?Goop? isn?t just her nickname and her specially-made newsletter for peasants – it?s also her superhero name. Dame Goop, with a cape! So here is Gwyneth in Tom Ford – this is from the same line of beautifully-made cream-white designs that Lindsay Lohan has been wearing, y?all. Gwyneth wasn?t nominated – she was only there to present (with Robert Downey Jr.) and to party. She didn?t change clothes for the Vanity Fair party, she merely lost the cape. Also – she went on stage to present without the cape too. And I really disliked her bit with RDJ – it was cheesy. I get that they?re friends, but their ?banter? needed more work.
As for the wisdom of wearing an actual cape? I don?t know. My first reaction upon seeing her on the red carpet was that Goop looked like a vestal virgin, a high priestess of some sort. I ended up liking the structure of the ?cape? – it seemed more like a smartly-draped coat, really. As for the dress – it was kind of meh. On Goop. The dress would have made a smart, minimalist wedding gown, truly.
My biggest complaints about Goop were her hair and makeup. I?m trying to get a shot of the back of her hair, just so you can see the effect of that low ponytail – it really looks like she just pulled it back with a rubber band. Trashy!!! And while I?m happy that Goop finally got her roots done, she needs to lowlights or something so she won?t look so washed out. And CB noted – ?She still doesn?t know how to do her makeup!? Her makeup really did look like hell last night – and Gwyneth PAYS people to do her makeup.

She's a pro when it comes to red carpet appearances, and Gwyneth Paltrow was back for another go-round as she arrived at the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday evening (February 26).
The ?Contagion? actress looked fit and fabulous as she sauntered down the Kodak Theatre red carpet in a white Tom Ford ensemble ahead of the Oscar affairs.
During the course of the night, Miss Paltrow is set to take the stage to hand out one of the coveted trophies while other presenters include Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.
As for the top contenders, "Hugo" leads the pack at 11 nominations while "The Artist" sits close behind at 10 chances for Oscar glory.
Meanwhile, the 2012 Academy Awards will be hosted by Billy Crystal and will broadcast live on ABC beginning at 7e/4p.

Here are more photos from the Women In Film event held last night in LA – CB already covered the women of The Help here, featuring a gorgeously natural and wigless Viola Davis. These photos are just some of the random ladies who wanted to see and be seen during Oscar weekend. Let?s start with Dame Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow. Goop was actually the hostess of the event? of course. She wouldn?t deign to come to such a downmarket (!!) event unless she was the ?hostess?. ?Hostess? meaning ?Goop acted superior to every peasant in the room.? PopSugar identified Goop?s jumpsuit as ?Boy. By Band of Outsiders?. Sure. It just looks like an ill-fitting jumpsuit to me. I don?t think Goop has the figure for deep-V-necks, but she thinks she does. Also: what?s with the pleating at the waist/hips? Is she a Kardashian? Because that?s the style Ol? Kat-face does all the time. Last thing: STOP STRAIGHT-IRONING YOUR HAIR. For the love of God. It’s not 1998 anymore.
Goop?s mom was at the event too. Blythe Danner (aka Mother Goop) looks awesome. She?s 69, and I believe that?s her natural face too.
Oh, hello, Demian Bichir. You look nice. Good luck, sweetheart.
I don?t hate Jennifer Morrison?s halter jumpsuit, I just don?t think it?s flattering on her figure – she?s got a GREAT body, but you wouldn?t know it here.
Here?s Selena Gomez in Ani Lee. I mean? it?s cute? It?s too low-cut for her, I think. The dress should either girly or sexy, and not try to convince me of both simultaneously.
I kind of love that Shailene Woodly wore this outfit to a big Hollywood event. One, those pants are AWESOME. Two, she looks her age – she?s 20. Three, she?s covered up. Four, she doesn?t have a face full of makeup. Five, seriously, look at those pants. I wish more young women understood the greatness of an awesome pair of pants.

As if one Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t bad enough, thanks to the wizards at Harper’s Bazaar, you now know what it’s like to be surrounded by four of her. It’s a nice photoshop trick, but in real life that much cunty pretentiousness in one room would summon a winter that would last for a thousand years.

Gwyneth Paltrow is the cover girl for the March issue of Harper?s Bazaar. The photo shoot was done by Terry Richardson, and? I don?t really care for it. It?s like Goop is trying to look all shiny and glitzy/sexy, with maybe some hints of rock-star-trashy. And that style simply doesn?t work for Goop. That being said, I think the subscriber?s cover (the one where you don?t see Goop?s face) is intriguing and interesting. Mostly because you don?t see her face. You can see the full Richardson photo shoot here (and the full online interview too). Here are some highlights from Goop?s Bazaar interview:
She doesn?t like Botox: “I’ll take my wrinkles,” she says. “I don’t like the Botox thing.” But she does enjoy sunshine for the vitamin D, despite “my dermatologist yelling at me.” (She admits to “little things, like lasers” and regular facials, often with the London-based Vaishaly Patel.)
She still trains with Tracy Anderson: Today, like every other weekday morning, she has spent an hour and a half with her trainer, Tracy Anderson, doing dance aerobics and a precise series of exercises that changes every 10 days. The aim, she says, is “that you’re muscular, but you don’t get used to anything.”
She?s detoxing too: Right now, the dedicated eater (see Gwyneth chowing on a bocadillo with Mario Batali in Spain or on fried chicken while filming Country Strong down South) is also on a 12-week detox program. “I have a lot of inflammation in my system, so I’m not having anything I’m allergic to?no gluten, no dairy, no sugar.” The trigger for these seasonal detox sessions, she says, is recognizing her physical symptoms: “I’ll wake up exhausted; I can feel my adrenal cortex being really high. When I get into bed, my heart will pound, my skin won’t be good, I’ll feel cranky, and then I’ll just know it’s time.” But such consciousness has an emotional impetus as well: She cites the death in 2002 of her beloved father, director Bruce Paltrow, from throat cancer at 58?after decades of vodka and smoking?as a catalyst for her own conversion to clean living. “All I’ve learned about nutrition and health came from his cancer,” she says. “I’ll probably have a long and healthy life because he didn’t.”
When she?s not detoxing: “I eat whatever I want. I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable.” But an outline of her regular diet, along with the rest of her timetable, reveals a model of restraint. She’s up every morning around 7:00 with her two children, Apple and Moses (seven and five, respectively). “I don’t really like eating that early, so I usually just have coffee and then a couple of bites of their leftovers, like granola and yogurt or scrambled eggs.”
What does she do all day? During the day, Gwyneth’s attention turns to her rapidly expanding and soon-to-be-redesigned Web site, goop (which now has more than a million viewers a week and is relaunching next month), and its associated apps, including a new range of city guides, starting with Los Angeles and moving on to London and other world capitals. Then there’s her second cookbook to complete. (The first, My Father’s Daughter, came out last spring; this one, as yet untitled, will focus on “really delicious health food.”)
The Goop Brand: “Everything I’ve done has been completely organic, and that’s why the brand is a strong brand, because there is no ulterior motive behind it,” she says.
Chris Martin is described as ?hugely supportive?: The two of them seem affectionately relaxed together?”he’s very communicative,” she says, “which is rare for a British man”?at ease with their nine-year relationship and their roles as parents. “If I’m in L.A. for three days working, then my husband does the school run; it’s always one of us,” although they do have a nanny for the children. “She’s French, so she’s teaching them French, and their previous nanny was Spanish, so they’re fluent in Spanish.” But it’s Gwyneth who gives the children their bath?”we all get into the tub together”?and she’s the one who cooks dinner for them before Apple and Moses go to bed at 8:00. It’s a family dinner, unless she goes out with Chris to eat at her favorite Japanese restaurants in London or for seafood at the members-only Arts Club.
She?s archiving her wardrobe for Apple: “I’ve been saving my clothes for her since before she was born. I was like, I’ll bet you anything I’ll have a daughter, and she’ll be a really cool butch lesbian and be so above clothes, and I got a very clothes-obsessed child. So if she’s a lesbian, she’s a lipstick lesbian. She doesn’t like anything avant-garde at all. She likes anything that’s pretty, pretty, pretty or has a bow or a ruffle or is pink.”
Goop name-drops Beyonce: As it happens, while Beyonc was headlining the Glastonbury Festival last June (the night after Coldplay), Gwyneth was watching by the side of the stage with Jay-Z and testifies to the fact that her friend’s performance was punctuated by the miserable side effects of early pregnancy: “She was absolutely incredible, especially as she was barfing in between.”
She?s a traditional wife and mother: “I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home.” Hence her recent advice to a girlfriend (who remains tantalizingly unnamed): “She is an actress and in a new relationship with someone else with a big career, and I said this may not be feminist, but you have to compromise. It’s been all about you and you’re a big deal. And if you want what you’re saying you want?a family?you have to be a wife, and that is part of the equation. Gloria Steinem may string me up by my toes, but all I can do is my best, and I can do only what works for me and my family.”
On her exes: Gwyneth remains discreet about her previous boyfriends, who include Brad Pitt (they dated for nearly three years from 1994 and were engaged for six months) and Ben Affleck (in the late ’90s). She met Chris Martin in 2002, three weeks after her father’s death, and married him the following year. But she does confess that she knows what it feels like to be betrayed?”I had a boyfriend who used to cheat on me all the time. I was quite naive. I knew on a cellular level, but I bought his story”?while making it clear that infidelity is not part of her marriage.
But she?s not judging cheaters: She does not condemn others who stray. “The older I get, the more open-minded I get, the less judgmental I get. Life is long. I have friends who I love and admire who have had an affair. When I was younger, I would have said he’s a terrible person or she’s a terrible person. But who made these laws?” And if the commitment to remain within a relationship can be renewed, she believes, then it should survive the inevitable challenges? “I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every time you go through a really difficult phase, you rediscover something new and it just gets better. We’ve been married for more than eight years now, and we’re still into it.”
[From Harper?s Bazaar]
I mean? ugh. Nothing she said offended me on a deep level, but there?s some interesting and controversial stuff in here. I find it interesting that Gwyneth is putting herself out there as the anti-feminist, the woman who is holding up traditional values, the one who advises peasant womanfolk to stand by their men and make sure to take care of their families. As for the conversation about infidelity? well? I don?t even know. I think Goop?s marriage is a lot harder than she wants to admit, and she puts up with a lot more than she?ll admit. Which makes me sad for Goop – it feels like she?s ?given up? a lot of herself to keep her marriage and family going.

| Gwyneth Paltrow's Hangover Cures: A Doctor's Assessment | Added 12 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

Making an attempt at helping her readers out, Gwyneth Paltrow recently posted advice in her GOOP newsletter on how to avoid a New Year's Day hangover.
While it was meant to aid her audience, Dr Michael Lucchesi doesn?t agree with some of the hangover tips the ?Shallow Hal? actress offered up.
First, Paltrow suggests drinking a health drink called Mercy (which contains amino acids, vitamins and herbs), but Lucchesi says it?s no more beneficial than regular water or Gatorade.
In addition, Gwyneth says a hot steam shower can cure the hangover blues, but Lucchesi disagrees while pointing out that stepping into a steam room will only dehydrate your body more.
The doc didn?t argue with everything the blonde actress posted. Here are some tips he agreed with:
Eat something: Drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea, ever. Eat a solid meal before drinking, always. Your hangover will be twice as horrible if you don?t.
Drink water. Lots of it: The more you drink through the the night, the less likely you?ll be sick the next day. Can?t handle all that H20? Alternate drinks with club soda and lime. Has it been four hours and you still haven?t gone to the bathroom? You are likely seriously dehydrated from not having drunk nearly enough water.
Aspirin or Tylenol? When it comes to getting rid of that throbbing headache, take whatever works. If ibuprofen helps, go with it. Just chase it with lots of water. There?s nothing wrong with trying Alka-Selzer since it has some salts in it.
Eat something palatable: When you are hung over the thought of food can make one feel physically ill. Try to eat something with simple carbohydrates.
Rest: And since you?ve likely been out all night partying, climb back in bed and get some sleep.

Gwyneth Paltrow offered some pretentious New Year’s Day hangover advice on her GOOP newsletter but thankfully Dr. Michael Lucchesi is here to rain on her parade. Lucchesi, chief medical staff at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and accomplished alcoholic, debunks most of Paltrow’s hangover cures.
First, Lucchesi wasn’t too impressed with Gwyneth’s health elixir Mercy, a company she has a stake in. Paltrow praised the “amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herb” drink andsuggestsmixing it with alcohol for hangover prevention. The good doctor shook his head, scoffed and said the elixir is no more beneficial than water or Gatorade explaining it’s the salts and electrolytes that provide relief and not Gwyneth’s buzzwords.
Lucchesi was also confused as to why Paltrow wants you to drag your ass to a hot steam room. “Alcohol is a diuretic. Why would you want to engage in an activity that would cause you to lose more water and salt?” Well, because a famous person said so. Duh! What a silly question.
As for the vitamin supplements and herbs she and her celeb doctor Dr. Oz suggest, bahumbug. “Most of these are totally water soluble. If you’re drinking water throughout the evening, you’ll just urinate them out.” Somewhere out there Gwyenth went “Aw, crap,” because her scam has been found out.
Paltrow isn’t a complete idiot though. A few things the real doctor agreed with was that you should eat something beforehand, drink lots of water, take Aspirin or Tylenol if needed and eat something palatable. All of which will cost you way less than buying celebrity Gatorade but obviously won’t taste as good since none of these are fortified with the tears of the unborn and Gwyneth Paltrow’s hopes and dreams.
