She always looks fit and fine, but Gwyneth Paltrow made it clear that her lean figure doesn't come without hard work.
During an interview with the Press Association, the "Iron Man" actress said that, following son Moses' birth in 2006, getting her svelte physique was "by far the hardest thing I have ever done."
"After my first pregnancy, the weight had come off a little bit better but after the second one it was really stubborn. It was really hanging on. It was not easy," Paltrow tells. "But I really was seeing results so it motivated me to just work through it."
With workouts being a key element to slimming down, Gwyneth continued, "Every woman can make time ? every woman ? and you can do it with your baby in the room. There've been countless times where I've worked out with my kids crawling around all over the place."

I swear to God, I thought these Gwyneth Paltrow quotes were repeats. You know why? Because all this bitch will talk about is exercising, diets, what she eats and how much weight she gains or loses. Not only do I believe that Gwyneth has serious issues with her own (and other people?s) body image, and that all of endless detoxing is actually harmful to her health, I now believe that Gwyneth has some sort of obsessive-compulsive tick where it?s always in the back of her mind, it?s all she ever thinks about constantly, day after mind numbing day: ?Food, food, exercise, kale, detox, weight, exercise, food, detox, juice, weight, detox, detox, exercise? on and on and on.
So Gwyneth was interviewed for fraud trainer Tracy Anderson?s new workout DVD, which comes out in another week. And Gwyneth got to talk freely about her favorite subject: herself. More specifically, her weight and how much she exercises. Of course.
Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed how she lost her baby weight.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, gave birth to their second child in 2006 and found it hard to regain her figure - but she said every woman could make time to burn off post-natal pounds.
“After my first pregnancy, the weight had come off a little bit better but after the second one it was really stubborn. It was really hanging on,” said the 37-year-old.
“It was not easy and, when I started it, it was by far the hardest thing I have ever done - but I really was seeing results so it motivated me to just work through it.”
Gwyn’s personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, helped her lose weight after giving birth - but she said it was something every mother could achieve.
“Every woman can make time - every woman - and you can do it with your baby in the room,” she said.
“There’ve been countless times where I’ve worked out with my kids crawling around all over the place. You just make it work, and if it’s important to you, it’ll be important to them.”
Gwyneth reveals how she lost her baby weight in the Tracy Anderson Post-Pregnancy Workout which is released on DVD on Monday July 19.

?You just make it work, and if it’s important to you, it’ll be important to them.? What? Because no child is too young to learn that their mother is totally OCD about working out two hours a day and doing juice detoxes every month and having fragile little bird bones from vitamin deficiency. Ladies and gentlemen, Gwyneth ?I Do It All For The Children? Paltrow.

| Gwyneth Paltrow deigns to appear on Vogue's 'Age Issue' | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Gwyneth Paltrow is the cover girl for the August issue of Vogue Magazine. August is always Vogue?s annual ?Age Issue? and they usually pick someone in their 30s or 40s for it, thankfully. It?s not like they get the 21-year-old starlet-of-the-moment to pontificate on aging. The Age Issue is actually one of my favorites of the specialty issues, just because they usually profile really cool women to represent the older decades, 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. My least favorite? The Shape Issue. I find it patronizing who they choose to represent ?petitie? and ?full-figured? usually. Anyway, they got Gwyneth for the cover even though she?s got nothing but GOOP and her Goopy, Vitamin-D-deficient diet (and cookbook!) to promote - seriously, Iron Man 2 promotion is over. There?s no reason for her to have the cover other than she wanted to be photographed by her friend Mario Testino. Usually, I?m impressed by Testino, but this photo shoot is rather bland. Like Goopy herself. Anyway, the full article is here (and it?s mostly about food and cooking), and here are some of the highlights:
Gwyneth?s cookbook has 144 recipes, is scheduled for publication in April 2011, and its title is My Father’s Daughter. The writer notes: ?I discovered that My Father’s Daughter is nearly free from food phobias and from an exaggerated concern for health (with the possible exception of Paltrow’s notion that gluten, as in wheat, is bad for you). One of Paltrow’s favorite foods is French fries; she gives an oven-baked recipe and a deep-fried recipe?which she sensibly admits tastes much better because it’s fried. She loves pizza. She also loves foods that people generally consider healthful. Her recipes reflect the kind of cooking that Paltrow prepares for her family most nights when she and her husband stay home.?
What Gwyneth looks like in person: I noticed was that Gwyneth is considerably more beautiful in the flesh than in pictures. She’s an ectomorph (in the language of anthropometrics). You might call her “gangling”?stretched out, a bit taller and svelter and better muscled than you would think, especially in the crucial upper-arm area. She doesn’t look gangling in pictures. She has fine genes, good bones. Gwyneth has at least one personal trainer, works out for two hours a day, and owns a piece of the gym near her downtown Manhattan apartment. (Her business partner is Tracy Anderson, who appears in a Goop video.)
On making her own chicken stock: “That’s going to be yum,” she said. Gwyneth makes her own stock about once a month. “It makes such a huge difference in the food,” she preached.
Did Gwyenth hate any body part of her own? There was a brief pause. Gwyneth said, “I’ll have to give that a little thought.” Her voice had changed. It was as though a cloud had passed over the sun.
Gwyneth?s introduction to her cookbook: “I always feel closest to my father, who was the love of my life until his death in 2002, when I am in the kitchen. I can still hear him over my shoulder, heckling me, telling me to be careful with my knife, moaning with pleasure over a bite of something in only the way a Jew from Long Island can, his shoulders doing most of the talking. I will never forget how concentrated he looked in the kitchen?.It was as if the deliciousness of the food would convey the love he felt in direct proportion?.Health food was never really on the agenda, it was about fun and deliciousness and togetherness?.The most striking aspect about his cooking was how much joy he derived from feeding people that he loved. I mean, genuine, bursting happiness?.This book is meant to channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me. Invest in what’s real. Clean as you go. Drink while you cook. Make it fun. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It will be what it will be.”
[From Vogue]
Eh. The piece is very, very, very far from a competent interview, or even a basic ?What?s your favorite color?? interview. It?s basically just the writer fanboying all over his crush and how she?s so food-competent. Blah. Just to be fair, though, it sounds like Gwyneth did not want to talk about anything other than food, as if she thinks that her thoughts on chicken stock should be enough to earn her a Vogue cover. And the cookbook doesn?t come out for another nine months! This kind of early promotion is crazy.
UPDATE: Here’s Gwyneth’s Vogue video. God, I just hate her voice. She just sounds so f-cking snotty.

| Gwyneth Paltrow has Vitamin D deficiency, might develop osteoporosis | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This might be too obscure, but does anyone else remember Emily Mortimer?s guest starring arc in the first season of 30 Rock? She kept telling Alec Baldwin (Jack) and Tina Fey (Liz) that she had ?bones like a bird, hallow.? It was a funny bit, just because Mortimer?s consistent line-delivery. This story about Gwyneth Paltrow reminded of that. According to the Daily Mail, Gwyneth is in the early stages of osteopenia, which is the precursor to osteoporosis. This is all based on Gwyneth?s GOOP newsletter from two weeks ago, where she claimed that doctors were astonished with how low her Vitamin D levels were. So basically, Gwyneth Paltrow has crash-dieted her way into being a little old lady with brittle bones.
With her extreme diets and harsh exercise regimes, Gwyneth Paltrow is nothing if not health conscious. So it must have come as a shock to be told she is suffering from an ailment more commonly the preserve of elderly women.
The 37-year-old actress says she is in the early stages of osteopenia, precursor to the brittle-bone disease osteoporosis. And according to experts, it could have been caused by the very diets she hoped would keep her in prime condition.
The problem was diagnosed in a bone scan after she suffered a leg fracture. In her internet newsletter Goop, she said: ‘My doctors tested my vitamin D levels, which turned out to be the lowest thing they had ever seen (not a good thing).’
As a result, Miss Paltrow, who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Shakespeare In Love, says she has been put on ‘prescription-strength vitamin D’.
She was also told by doctors to spend ‘a bit of time in the sun’.
Osteoporosis is a bone disease which leads to an increased risk of fractures. It is more common in women, especially following the menopause, and can be caused by lack of calcium in the diet and too much exercise. All of which has led to speculation that the actress’s lifestyle might be in some way to blame.
Miss Paltrow lives in north London with her rock star husband Chris Martin, from the band Coldplay. In 1999, she began following a macrobiotic diet which concentrates on vegetables, grains, soup and fish.
She broke off from it between 2003 and 2006 when she had her two children Apple, now six, and four-year-old Moses. Since then, she has followed a less intense version but admits she does not consume many dairy products.
Nurse Julia Thomson, of the National Osteoporosis Society, said: ‘Diet certainly has a big role to play in bone strength. It’s all about maintaining the right ratio. Osteopenia may occur when one cuts out certain food groups such as dairy, especially if it is a lifelong habit. Calcium is certainly a biggie when it comes to osteoporosis. I don’t know that there is evidence to prove absolutely that cutting out the food group could cause the condition, but if the calcium intake is extremely low that will have an effect on the skeleton.’
[From The Daily Mail]
I had a mild Vitamin D deficiency when I was a teenager (back when I didn?t eat anything good for me, and you know, was a dumb teenager), and my doctor just told me to change my diet. It is seriously one of the easiest things to remedy. Go out in the sun. Drink milk, eat fish or beef or eggs. And if all else fails, just take over-the-counter supplements. The fact that Gwyneth has or had health problems because of a vitamin deficiency doesn?t surprise me in the least - she?s always recommending diets and cleanses and juice and cabbage-water crap-tastic bullsh-t that doesn?t seem healthy in the long run. And the fact that she considers herself some kind of healthy person - who deigns to give others advice - is even more disturbing.

They?re both big fans of fashion, and last night (June 23) Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna were spotted at the Diane Von Furstenberg party in London, England.
The ?Shakespeare in Love? actress and the ?Papa Don?t Preach? songstress looked lovely as they posed for pictures at Claridges.
Von Furstenberg held the swanky celebrity-laden event to launch a series of print-filled suites she designed.
Diane addressed the crowd, ?Like you, I?ve had affairs at Claridge?s, and I?ve done business at Claridge?s. If these walls could talk they would write books!?

?Ha ha, poor people! Snort.? - Dame Gwyneth
This week?s Goop is special. I mean, all of them are special, really, when you think about how much it takes out of Gwyneth to deign to advise us peasants how to dress, shop, think, read, Goop, and simple ?BE?. But this one is even better - because Goopy is talking God. Sort of. You know how when Gwyneth wants to phone it in, she?s the queen of cutting-and-pasting? Goopy cut-and-pastes much of her Goopy God talk. I think the theme is supposed to be ?giving? as in ?peasants should give more, look at how much I give them.? Here?s her introduction:
?Do you love your creator? Love your fellow-beings first?
-Muhammed
?A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.?
- Buddha
?Love thy neighbor as thyself.?
- Jesus
Spiritual leaders for centuries have taught the idea of putting someone else?s needs before one?s own. What is it about this common thread - the act of giving of one?s self - that is so valuable?
- gp
[From Goop]
It?s like she thinks her words are as important as Jesus and Mohammed?s right? No, not really. She thinks that her question is eternal, just like Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha. Meanwhile, Vishnu is like ?Can I get a shout-out, bitch?? Goopy has just alienated a lot of Hindus. Breaking: Gwyneth HATES Hindus. Anyway, the rest of the piece is just cut-and-pasted from Deepak Chopra (sellout!), Michael Berg (Kabbalah stuff, ?wear a red string? et cetera), Cynthia Bourg Ault (Episcopal priest) and Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel, who just talks about Buddha this, Buddha that. The only message I?ve received is that Dame Goopy thinks charity starts at Goop. That?s right - we?re her charity cases. For the full Goop newletter, go here.

| Is Madonna and Gwyneth's friendship over' | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

US Weekly is reporting that former BFFs and expats Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow are no longer speaking to each other. It’s all due to competing egos and changing lifestyles now that Madonna ditched her British husband and Goop is sticking with hers. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this rumor, and there’s plenty of circumstantial evidence to support it.
Gossip Cop refutes this report in their typical “the rep denies it, so it must be false” way, but it has a ring of truth to me. US Weekly gives a vague quote from Gwyneth’s May Vogue UK interview in which she hinted at trouble with a friend, “I’m having a situation right now with a friend where I’m feeling pretty angry.” From that quote, it could be anyone and the issue might be minor. However, Gwynnie took a direct jab at Madge in that interview, saying that it was a good thing Madonna was no longer working with their trainer Tracy Anderson, because Madonna “keeps people waiting - it takes up your whole day.” Gwyneth also devoted a whole issue of Goop to “friendship divorce” on February 25.
A source close to Madonna, 51, and Gwyneth Paltrow, 37, tells Us Weekly the dear pals, BFFs since 1999, are dunzo.
“They don’t speak,” says the insider. “I can’t tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive.”
Although Madonna’s rep denies the “breakup,” the source says things went downhill slowly for the duo after Madonna split from Guy Ritchie in 2008, leaving “Gwyneth and Madonna with less in common.” (Paltrow’s been wed to U.K.-born singer Chris Martin since 2003.)
And to be sure, both women have a history of bagging their besties: Madge fell out with Sandra Bernhard around 1991; Paltrow cut ties with Winona Ryder in 1998.
In fact, Paltrow (who once called the singer “like an older sister”) hinted at a new feud in May’s British Vogue: “I’m having a situation right now with a friend where I’m feeling pretty angry.”
[From US Weekly]
I’m thinking this is true. Madonna dropped Tracy Anderson as her trainer in October of last year, and just a few months later we heard that Madonna and Gwyneth had a falling out over some business issue. That earlier report noted that they are “both Type-A personalities” and we surely know that’s true. They were probably glad to get rid of each other once their mutually aggrandizing relationship was no longer working for them. They both have enough people around them blowing smoke up their asses to fill the role they once played in each other’s lives.

They?ve been dear friends for quite some time, but rumor has it Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow have called it quits on their friendship.
An insider told press, "They don't speak. I can't tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive."
Though Madonna's rep denies the "breakup," an Us magazine source tells that things went downhill slowly for the duo after Madonna split from Guy Ritchie in 2008, leaving "Gwyneth and Madonna with less in common." (Paltrow's been wed to U.K.-born singer Chris Martin since 2003.)
Both Madonna and Paltrow have had falling outs with friends in the past. The ?Material Girl? singer and Sandra Bernhard broke things off in 1991, while the ?Shallow Hal? actress and Winona Ryder had a falling out in 1998.
