We tease/make fun of Gwyneth Paltrow often enough for her elitism and her casual privilege. Sometimes we could possibly give her the benefit of the doubt, but after so many years of her holier-than-thou attitude and her ?advice? to the peasants, the ?benefit of the doubt? well has run dry. Goop.com is a hodge-podge of Gwyneth?s advice about everything from eating (avoid it) to exercise (do as much as possible) to New Age faux-spiritual crap. I swear she gets paid to ?recommend? a lot of the crap she shills through Goop, but this week?s recommendation has Dame Goop boldly going where she?s never gone before: up your vadge. Literally. She thinks that everyone simply must try the ?V-steam? which promises to steam clean your uterus. For real.
Tikkun is the next level when it comes to Korean spas, combining high-tech far infrared heat with traditional Korean sauna therapies. So, if you want to lay down in a Himalayan salt brick tiled sauna, or sit in a Hwangto clay room, you get the added benefit of far infrared heat. And, in addition to the sauna rooms, there?s a long menu of massages and kick-ass body scrubs to complement the sauna time. We?re burying the lede though, because the real golden ticket here is the Mugworth V-Steam: You sit on what is essentially a mini-throne, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al. It is an energetic release?not just a steam douche?that balances female hormone levels. If you?re in LA, you have to do it.

Steam cleaning your uterus? Sounds?uncomfortable. Like, is the steam HOT? Is anything going to be scalded? And does it work like an iron? Are you de-wrinkling down there? So many questions about such an unnecessary procedure. My take: if your uterus needs a steam clean then you?re doing it wrong.
Apparently, it costs $50 to steam clean your V. That?s relatively cheap when it comes to Goop recommendations, until you realize that you could just boil some water and fan the steam up your business for pennies. The website says there are five V-steams to choose from: ?the signature, the slimming, the infertility, the post-partum and even a signature V-steam for men.? MEN CAN GET V-STEAMED!

These Gwyneth Paltrow stories are a few days old, but they?re worth discussing. First of all, how did Gwyneth?s big promotional push for Mortdecai work out? Not so well, especially compared to Jennifer Lopez?s offering, The Boy Next Door. TBND was made for $4 million and it made $15 million on its opening weekend. Compare that to Mortdecai, which was made for $60 million (WHY?) and it only opened with $4.13 million. The thing is, I?m not sure we could or should put that at Goop?s door. Mortdecai was billed as a Johnny Depp film with a star-studded ensemble. If Gwyneth had been less visible during the promotion, Depp alone would be eating this bomb. But because Gwyneth deigned to get in our faces, now she has to eat it too.
Speaking of Gwyneth?s eating habits, did you know she?s going to write (?write?) another cookbook? Her first two cookbooks ? My Father?s Kitchen and It?s All Good ? were bestsellers and likely made Gwyneth a nice chunk of change. Her first cookbook got a better reception, probably because the food was relatively normal. Her second cookbook was when all of Goop?s elimination diet stuff came out to play and she talked about starving her children of carbohydrates and everyone was like ?Yeah, this isn?t a diet, it?s an eating disorder.? So what does she have in store for us this time?
Gwyneth Paltrow is writing a third cookbook, everyone.
“It’s fun ? I really love doing it. It’s an awesome side project that I get to do, and I feel really lucky that people bought the first one and the second one!” the Mortdecai actress and Goop head said on Rachael Ray Friday morning.
So what can loyal Paltrow kitchen fans like Meryl Streep expect? “Clean comfort food” for the entire family, because she says she always finds herself running out of ideas. Plus, “I think I might do appetizers for a party section because that’s always a tough one. It’s like you’re having a party, and you don’t want to be in the kitchen. Make-ahead trays and stuff you can stick in the oven. ? I love easy party food and kid-family food, and that’s where I am right now.”
The third title will follow 2013?s It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great and 2011?s My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness with Mario Batali.

While on Rachel Ray, Goop also told a story about trying to do a peasant version of eggplant parmesan and failing completely:
She dished to Rachael Ray that the worst meal she’s ever made was an eggplant parmesan when she was 18 years old.
“I went to the store and bought some eggplant, a jar of tomato sauce and some really rubbery mozzarella cheese,” she recalled. “I didn’t know that when you cook eggplant, you first have to sweat it to get all the bitter juice out, and I didn’t realize that you also have to bread eggplant parmesan and fry it before. So I put slices of raw eggplant with jarred tomato sauce and mozzarella! And everyone threw up.”

To be fair to Goop, she was just 18 years old when that happened. And she dared to use peasant prep-food like ?a jar of tomato sauce.? She would NEVER do that today. NEVER. She would rather smoke crack than use tomato sauce out of a jar.
Gwyneth?s last Goop-letter was all about recipes too, so maybe she?s trying out some new stuff for her cookbook. She got a lot of headlines for suggesting a recipe for ?Sex Bark? which is not as dirty as it sounds. It sounds like something I would want to try with Michael Fassbender, but in GoopWorld, Sex Bark is just a chocolate with ?Moon Pantry Sex Dust?. In case you?re just dying to know, go here to read. The big premiere of Mortdecai was held last night in LA. Scarfy Depp was there (Bedhead will have those photos later), and so were the rest of the cast. What kills me a little is that this film actually did assemble a decent cast: Scarfy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan Mcgregor, Paul Bettany, Jeff Goldblum, Olivia Munn and more. Too bad the whole thing looks like a really cheap and poorly acted Peter Sellers rip-off. Anyway, let?s talk fashion.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore this blue-green Lanvin Spring 2015 gown. It feels like she sort of phoned it in, right? Like, she didn?t even bother to get these gown properly tailored, that?s how little she cared. This could have pretty if it was a beautifully tailored column, but Lanvin tried to be fancy with that cummerbund thing, which goes underneath the dress in the back. From the front, this Lanvin makes Gwyneth look wide (and she?s not wide at all) and from the back, this is just? not good. I even think her earrings suck. Damn, Goop! You could do better than this.
Many of Goop’s girlfriends came out to support her, including Tracy Anderson. I dislike this outfit, but I think we should just be happy that Tracy isn’t dressed up as an overgrown cheerleader.
And here?s Olivia Munn in Ralph Rucci. Eh. Basic dress is basic. It?s got a nice fit and it looks nice on her, that?s all I?ve got.
Would you likes some Jeff Goldblum? His wife/baby-mama can?t dress for sh-t. But Jeff found Paul Bettany and they embraced like lovers on the carpet, and all was good.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a self-made woman! She pulled herself up by the bootstraps and worked her family connections to the bone. You have no idea how hard she worked to make a name for herself. And by ?name? I mean ?telling people she was the daughter of Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner.? What?s hilarious (to me, at least) is we?re getting all of these new Goop interviews because she?s promoting that terrible-looking Mortdecai, which comes out in a few weeks. Gwyneth tries so hard to only align herself with the crme de la crme, the most elite, and here she is carrying the bulk of the publicity for a hideous-looking Johnny Depp film that no one wanted. So, apparently, Gwyneth covers the new issue of Marie Claire. We don?t have the cover yet or anything, but Page Six has some interview excerpts and they?re priceless.
Consciously uncoupled Gwyneth Paltrow called herself ?misunderstood? in a recent interview ? and dropped an F-bomb while describing her relationship with rock star Chris Martin.
?We?ve worked really f-?-king hard to get to [this] point,? she said of rebuilding a relationship with the Coldplay frontman and father of her two children. ?But we?re very, very close, and it?s so nice,? the Oscar-winning actress and lifestyle guru told Marie Claire. Paltrow and Martin even spent Thanksgiving with the kids, Apple and Moses.
?I feel like it?s, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have,? she said.
Paltrow, who is co-starring with Johnny Depp in the upcoming comedy ?Mortdecai,? hopes her kids will be ?more whole and happier? because of how they?ve handled the divorce, she said weepily. As for why her 10-year marriage officially went up in smoke, she insisted that ?there was nothing dramatic.?
?I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn?t do it anymore, and I really had the sense that I wasn?t allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else, and I just sort of hit a wall,? she said.
The ?Shakespeare in Love? star has been put down for trying to be too perfect and for sharing out-of-touch thoughts with the public ? but she says she is just ?misunderstood? sometimes.
?Look, one of the disadvantages of having been famous for so long is I?ve said some stupid things,? she explained. ?But when words are put into my mouth, those are the situations I feel aren?t quite fair.?
She also distanced herself from the much-maligned phrase ?conscious uncoupling,? which she was teased for using to describe her divorce.
?You can make fun of the term or whatever,? Paltrow said. ?I didn?t invent it.?

Oh, Gwyneth sounds a bit touchy in this interview, doesn?t she? Let?s unpack it. First of all, I don?t really have a problem with what she says about Chris or their relationship. I think they?re still very close and they really have worked hard on keeping everything peaceful and respectful for their kids. As for the ?conscious uncoupling? thing ? true, she didn?t ?invent it?. But she certainly brought it to the forefront and yes, people teased her about it. As they should.
Gwyneth admits she?s ?said some stupid things? but makes it sound like those stupid things happened when she was a lot younger. Nevermind the fact that she literally JUST SAID she was a self-made woman. And no, that?s not ?putting words into her mouth.? She really says stupid crap all the time. Peasants just don?t understand though.
As for her statement about ?trying to be all things to all people,? I feel like that?s a dog whistle for peasant mothers. Gwyneth is trying to say that she?s the same as you, that she struggles to raise her children and be a supportive wife and often she found no time for herself. I believe that she stayed in her marriage because she thought ?divorce is not an option? and because she truly thought supporting Chris?s every move would be enough. But let?s not not kid ourselves, Gwyneth always had time to look out for Gwyneth. Gwyneth always finds the time to get hers.
Oh, last story ? In Touch Weekly says that Gwyneth was ? GASP!!!!! ? discount shopping recently. A ?witness? told In Touch that Goop was ?at a Marshalls discount store? She was just browsing alone.? A Marshall?s??? How gauche.

Gwyneth Paltrow covers the new issue (the February issue) of Harper?s Bazaar UK. She?s promoting that terrible-looking Johnny Depp film, Mortdecai, where Depp tries to be a scarfy version of Peter Sellers. The film comes out in January, the graveyard of theatrical releases. I?m hoping that Gwyneth and the other stars will really have to come out to shill this movie, just because it will be funny to see. Anyway, you can read Gwyneth?s full Bazaar profile here. Some highlights:
Moving back to LA: ?There?s a deep comfort about it because it?s so familiar. The other day I was lying on the grass and the kids were playing and I was looking at the blue sky and the palm-trees ? and there was something about the weather and the smell and I was, like, eight years old again. I had such a strong memory of being a kid here ? it?s a really nice place to be a little kid, and it?s great to watch my children have that experience.?
Reflecting back on her marriage: ?It was very fast,? she says, and acknowledges that falling in love with Martin was also in some sense bound up with the depth of her mourning for her father. ?I feel like I would have died somehow if I hadn?t met him at that time. I felt like I was going to die of grief. I remember waking up, on one particular night, where I felt like I was having a heart attack and I couldn?t breathe… I lay on the floor of my apartment in London and I thought, ?I?m not going to survive this.? And he just picked me up and he was so loving and patient through all my grieving. He?s really great in a crisis. He has incredible empathy when it comes to somebody?s pain.?
Chris was only 25 when they got together: ?Too young. Men are very young at that age, and I was relying on him very heavily and I really expected him to keep being this grown man and pillar of strength ? which he was and is ? but it?s also quite an unfair set of criteria to give to someone who?s just 25 years old.?
Her evolved conscious uncoupling: ?It?s painful, it?s difficult, it might be easier to say, ?I never want to see you again,? but what good does that do anyone? We?ve made a lot of mistakes, and we?ve had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I?m proud of us for working through so much stuff together ? and not blaming and shaming. Of course, there are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want. But we have been able to solidify this friendship, so that we?re really close.?
Her early career success: ?A lot of good luck and a lot of hard work and a lot of being in the right place at the right time. But I burned myself out. I was doing three films a year, sometimes appearing in every single scene.
She claims she was self-made: ?My father was totally self-made. I grew up with the benefit of a great education and a beautiful house, but my father always said, ?The day you leave, that?s it. You?re not getting anything,? and he stuck to it. He was so hardcore about me making my own way.? This was a markedly different approach to many of her contemporaries at school in New York, who relied on family trust funds. ?But my father always said, ?That would ruin your life.? And it does give you such a good sense of your capabilities. I?ve earned everything myself, and I?ve never taken any money from anyone ? my father really pounded that into me, so I got the message.?
Being criticized: ?Women really need to examine why they?re so vitriolic to other women; why they want to twist words, why they want to read about someone else in a negative light and why that feels good to them… But I also know a huge tribe of women who are loving and supportive of other women, in ways that are completely transformative.?
Defining herself as a woman: ?I think we are a generation of women who are different in a lot of respects, and some of us want to be ambitious, and for it not to be a dirty word. We want to be feminine and soft, we want to be maternal, we want to be sexual, we want to be explorers ? and we can be a combination of all of these archetypes. You can be powerful, but you can also be vulnerable.? Finally, she says, she has ?learnt the power of kindness and the importance of nonjudgemental ways of looking at others?.

Sigh? I kind of liked her in parts of this interview. I?m glad she?s acknowledging that she moved too fast with Chris when they first got together and that he was really too young for all of it. But Gwyneth is still the same old Goop, you know? She doesn?t really care about girl-on-girl drama, she just hates it when people criticize HER for crap she really says. Remember this? She really believes she works harder (doing one film a year IN WISCONSIN) than peasant mothers working 9-5 jobs. She really said that.
As for comments about ?earning? everything herself? that?s privilege, right there. While her dad might not have given her money, she certainly worked her family connections to the hilt. And while there?s nothing wrong with being privileged and having Steven Spielberg as your godfather and your first employer, you should acknowledge that privilege so you don?t look so out of touch.

They put an end to their marriage earlier this year, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin apparently are happier than ever post-split.
A source close to the couple told E! News that the recently separated couple are making the most of their relationship status, making sure to give their kids a healthy home.
"Their relationship is better than ever since they separated," the source told press about the pair that split in March. "They have found something that works really well for them and their children."
Gwyn and Chris are parents to Apple, 10, and Moses, 8. Despite Chris' relationship with actress Jennifer Lawrence and Gwyn's rumored link to "Glee" co-creator Brad Falchuck, the former couple is able to keep things friendly.
"They are best friends and there is a ton of love and respect between them," the source continued. "Because they have made a commitment to put their kids first and keep the family unit together as much as possible, the pressure is off the marriage and trying to figure out how they work as a couple. Now they spend a lot of time together as a family, but they also have their own lives with no questions asked."
The source continued, "On weekends if one of them has the kids and the other doesn't have plans, they will meet up and do something altogether. They truly love one another and think the world of each other, they just aren't a couple. They will spend the holidays together and make sure the kids know they are always going to be a family."

It feels like it?s been weeks since we?ve heard anything about the Dorito-dust-covered Bermuda Triangle of Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence. The last I heard, J-Law and Chris were still kind of trying to make it work and Gwyneth may or may not have been drunkenly panicking about it because Goop really thought that she had successfully broken those two up. Maybe she?s still trying? E! News reported on Wednesday that Chris and Gwyneth reunited last weekend and that overall, their relationship is better than ever:
It’s no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may have had the most amicable split in Hollywood, most recently reuniting for some quality family time with their two kids over the weekend. And while their friendly outings have raised some speculation of a reconciliation, a source tells E! News that the two have simply “found something that works,” adding that we all should expect to see more of the consciously uncoupled pair.
“Their relationship is better than ever since they separated,” a source tells us of Oscar winner and the Coldplay musician, who announced their separation in March. “They have found something that works really well for them and their children.”
The parents of Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, have been able to maintain a mutual level of respect since calling it quits and have even supported each other in their subsequent relationships (Martin was most recently linked to Jennifer Lawrence, although the two broke up last month, while Paltrow has been seen out on numerous occasions with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuck).
“They are best friends and there is a ton of love and respect between them,” the source explains of the Hollywood duo. “Because they have made a commitment to put their kids first and keep the family unit together as much as possible, the pressure is off the marriage and trying to figure out how they work as a couple. Martin and Paltrow have been recently seen spending time together in both Dallas and NYC and, in order to keep things consistent for their children, they even have neighboring homes in Malibu, Calif.
“They spend a lot of time coordinating their schedules so that one of them is with the kids at all times,” the insider reveals. “If Gwyneth has business in London, she makes every effort to schedule it when Chris can be with the kids and vice versa. They also do a lot of family stuff together and support each other in their careers.”
Clearly, as fans of the former couple have witnessed, the pair’s children will always come first.
“On weekends if one of them has the kids and the other doesn’t have plans, they will meet up and do something altogether,” the source reveals, adding, “They truly love one another and think the world of each other, they just aren’t a couple. They will spend the holidays together and make sure the kids know they are always going to be a family.”

My opinion: Gwyneth is still wary of Jennifer Lawrence in particular and any woman Chris wants to date in general. While Gwyneth might enjoy a quiet, elite relationship with Brad Falchuck (who is still married, last I heard, much like Gwyneth is still married), she still doesn?t want Chris to have real, public relationships with other women. Especially younger Oscar-winning carb-eaters. But I guess slow-clap for Gwyneth and Chris for figuring out how to have some kind of amazing separation where they spend a lot of time together and prioritize their children.

Giving her fans plenty of holiday shopping opportunities, Gwyneth Paltrow opened a Goop pop-up store in Highland Park Village in Dallas, Texas over the weekend.
And during her three-day stay in Lone Star State, the ?Shakespeare in Love? actress spent plenty of time rubbing shoulders with customers and posing for photos.
Gwyn even made it out to the Rag & Bone holiday party with co-founder David Neville when she wasn?t signing copies of her new book ?It?s All Good.?
Even famed designer Monique Lhuillier paid a visit to the popular shop, which is scheduled to stay open until December 14th.

More than a month ago, people noticed something funny in the then-new issue of Martha Stewart Living. Martha had included a dessert recipe for a ?Consciously Coupled? dessert for the Thanksgiving holiday ? go here to see. This was widely taken as Martha ?Gangster? Stewart poking at her enemy Gwyneth Paltrow yet again. The Martha-Goop feud has been simmering for a while, but Martha took it next-level when she openly criticized Gwyneth for ?trying to be the next Martha Stewart.? Martha also said Gwyneth ?just needs to be quiet.? Gwyneth responded to that by hiring the former CEO of Martha Stewart Omnimedia and by declaring that she (Goop) is ?so psyched? that Martha sees her as competition.
So, what now? The Rise of the Blonde Mean Girls, basically. It?s a fight to the death, through recipes. Gwyneth saw Martha?s Consciously Coupled pie and raises her a ?Jailbird Cake.?
Jailbird Cake? Seems like a dish best served cold. Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest baking suggestion appears to be a cleverly veiled diss at domestic rival Martha Stewart’s past as a prisoner.
Published on her website, goop, the dessert consists of chocolate wafers and whipped cream ? and brings to mind 73-year-old Stewart’s 2004 stint behind bars (and then under house arrest) for insider trading. Now that’s having your cake and eating it too.

You can see the recipe for the ?Jailbird Cake? here at Goop. I hate when cooks/chefs just put layers of whipped cream into a ?cake? and expect that to be enough. Whipped cream is a dessert garnish, it?s not the whole GD CAKE.
Anyway, this is just the blandest, most WASPy rich blonde girl fight ever. Gwyneth and Martha are literally taking passive-aggressive swipes at each other THROUGH RECIPES.
