Be honest: when Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton first got together in 2015, did any of us really think they would make it this long? I didn?t. I didn?t see any of this coming. After more than three years together, I have to admit that I actually sort of like Gwen and Blake together. It?s weird. Anyway, Gwen and Blake are always getting rumors about an impending engagement, wedding or baby. I tend to believe Gwen wants to marry Blake and she?s just waiting for him to do something about it. I also believe that Blake got burned by Miranda Lambert, and he?s probably still gun-shy about getting hitched again. But what about babies? Gwen is 49, Blake is 42. Chances are, even if Gwen tried to get pregnant again, she wouldn?t have much luck. So what about surrogacy?
Ready to expand their family? Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are ?determined to have a child together,? an insider reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
?They are in the final stages of choosing the woman who will carry their baby. It?s extremely important to Gwen that she give Blake a biological child, and Blake is so excited,? the insider explains, noting that even though Shelton is grateful for Stefani?s sons, ?he wants his own child too.?
?Gwen just is so in awe of the love Blake has, not only for her but for the boys,? the insider tells Us.

By all accounts, Blake adores Gwen?s sons. Gwen and her boys regularly spend a lot of time in Oklahoma, where Blake has a home, and he?s turned his property into a giant playground for the kids. I feel like? Gwen has always wanted more kids, and she might even try this, even though what she really wants is to just get married. I don?t know. Most celebrities keep it a secret when they?re going through the first stages of surrogacy, so I don?t know if this is a legit leak from one of their camps, or it?s just a make-believe story. Eh. It feels truthy, but God knows.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have a Christmas special coming up on December 12 on NBC called Gwen Stefani?s You Make It Feel Like Christmas. She also has that Christmas album out, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, with the title song a duet with Blake. I finally listened to it, and it’s so bad you guys! It made me grimace so much. I’m listening to it now and I can barely finish my breakfast cereal. (Honey Nut Cheerios, but I eat the generic brand because I’m fancy like that.) A lot of people must agree with me as the song has less than a million views on YouTube and it’s been out since the end of September. It’s just awful.
Anyway I buy that Gwen and Blake are the real deal, she worships that basic guy and she convinced him to accept People’s Sexiest title, although she realizes that sexy is subjective. Gwen told Ellen on her show last week that Blake is sexy because of his “big old heart and that sense of humor. He doesn’t even like take himself seriously, and he’s just such an incredible person.” I think Gwen appreciates Blake because she was stuck in a difficult marriage for years, and for what it’s worth the feeling seems to be mutual.
Gwen also did an interview at a Spotify Listening Party for her album (I wonder how many people had to stifle grimaces) where she talked about her family’s Christmas traditions. Her grandmother had one that she can’t quite live up to:
“I don?t like to brag, but I did have an incredible family and parents and grandparents,? Stefani shared during a Q&A at the Spotify Listening Party for her album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, hosted by Fred Segal and Domino Magazine on Thursday. ?I can remember my grandma, my mom?s mom, she was a redhead, Irish. I would call her crazy lady, she would probably like that, I think.?
?She used to do gingerbread villages. Like she would start and there would be the church and each one of us got our own gingerbread house and at Christmas, we would take it home and eat it. It was over the top,? she recalled, adding that she tried to recreate the tradition two years ago — but it was “a complete disaster.”
?[It had a] horrifying taste. I don?t even know how I did it. I think I used the wrong molasses. It was different molasses in it, so I?m trying to figure it out,” Stefani said. “This year is the year though! I have to do it.?

I’m not a baker, I’m just a middling cook and haven’t done much baking, and I can screw up a gingerbread kit. That said, now I want to make a kit with my kid. One of my favorite memories as a child was my grandfather making a huge gingerbread house with my brother and me. I’m pretty sure he made it from scratch. That’s amazing that Gwen’s grandmother made entire gingerbread villages like that! So much work and detailing must have gone into that, and it also takes incredible skill as Gwen learned the hard way. What a special memory. I just try to decorate my house and make Christmastime special and I hope that’s enough. We’re not religious at all in my family but we love Christmas and being together at the holidays. There’s no “war on Christmas” in America, but when Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are headlining Christmas specials, that’s a sign that it’s headed toward mediocrity.

In ?Huh?? news, singers Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are collaborating once again, and thankfully, it?s not on new music. According to the National Enquirer, the two are teaming up for a new clothing line for men.
A source told the Enquirer that ?Gwen wants to create comfortable and casual men?s clothes that are cut really well – no dad jeans.? I?m not sure where Blake comes into play with this project, as the source added, ?He?s letting her take the lead and will just weigh in on what guys will and won?t wear.? Sure he will.
Now don?t get me wrong, I like Gwen?s fashion sense. I have some of her L.A.M.B. stuff in my closet. I just don?t see her eccentric, Harajuku-influenced aesthetic translating to the plaid shirts and Dickies crowd that Blake attracts. But, hey, I could be wrong.
In other Gwake news, Blake turned 41 on Sunday and Gwen treated him with an…ummm…unusual cake. You may have gotten a Fudgie the Whale cake from Carvel for your birthday (do they even still make those?), but Blake got a cake shaped like an armadillo. The singer had to share his big day with Gwen?s niece, Madeline Stefani, who just graduated from college. I have questions. Is this the celebratory cake she was expecting? Does she get the front or back end of this thing?

Gwen Stefani is a nice Catholic girl. She was raised Catholic, and she?s talked about how her faith is extremely important to her. Most Sundays – when she?s in LA – she often takes her sons to church. Easter Sunday was no different this year. Her bow-tie-clad sons Zuma, Kingston and Apollo all joined their mom at church for Easter.
While I think the boys look adorable and appropriate for church, Gwen?s church ensemble gave me pause. Like, I?m sure people weren?t judging her in church – it is LA, after all – but what?s the general thought on wearing a miniskirt to church? Considering I?ve never been a church-goer, I always feel like going to church is like going to court. You should wear trousers or a skirt down to the knee. You should wear a bra. You should be conservatively dressed in general and probably not pair a flouncy miniskirt with a pair of three-inch Louboutins? Does this look seem conservative? Now, all that being said, she looks nice. She looks like a barely-decorated Easter egg. I think the white tights – OMG! – sort of make the miniskirt look somewhat appropriate.
(I just realized I sound like I?m all ?Goody Stefani is showing too much leg, burn her as a witch!? That?s not what I was trying to say. Since I?m not a church-goer, I really don?t know what is considered appropriate for today?s modern church-wear. My interest in this is sartorial and occasion-appropriate, not miniskirt-shaming.)
Also: Gwen was Snapchatting on Easter and she hinted that she had her first bite of chocolate in 40 days, meaning that she probably gave up chocolate for Lent?

Gwen Stefani loves makeup. No, scratch that. Gwen Stefani NEEDS makeup, at least according to Gwen Stefani. She?s one of those ?I don?t leave the house without makeup? women. She often said that she never wanted Gavin Rossdale to see her bare face and that he preferred her with makeup. Personally, I think she just loves makeup and feels uncomfortable without out and it?s not about what her husband or boyfriend likes. Anyway, makeup addict Gwen has been named the newest brand-ambassador for Revlon, which is actually a great fit. To celebrate her new position, Gwen gave a long-ass interview to InStyle. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights (and keep in mind, this is supposed to be all about makeup).
She loves this new ambassadorship: “I’m like how smart is Revlon to pick me? They’re so smart. I’m probably the most excited person about makeup that you could ever choose and it genuinely is my passion. It?s something that I’ve been obsessed with for as long as I can remember. It’s art. It’s self expression. It’s transformation. It’s confidence. All day long?whether it’s on stage, photo shoots, or just my everyday routine?I get up and put tons of makeup on because I like it, and I like doing it, and I think I’m good at it.?
Choosing love: “I feel like really excited. It’s like one of those things where I would never have dreamed this big. To be a brand ambassador for a huge world brand that’s been around forever and on top of that, weirdly also has a message. They can choose any message, right? I mean, they’re speaking to the world and they choose love. Which I think is just weirdly paralleled to my life, because I feel like I had to make a choice a few years ago when things were just so hard and to choose love. I wrote a whole record about ‘this is what the truth feels like.’ And love to me is truth. Love to me is God. Love to me is just all of those things. So I think to be a part of a world message right now, it’s just an amazing platform to just say it. I feel like it’s a really amazing thing. I’ll look back and be like, ?I’m proud.?”
Her sons remind her to put on makeup: “[Makeup] says a lot, I think. Even my kids are so used to me wearing makeup that if I don’t, they’ll be like, ?Wait are you gonna put on makeup?? I’m like, ?Of course I’m going to.? It’s just who I am. Always have been. So it’s kind of perfect to be doing it in this way. And it’s inspiring, too.”
Date-night makeup for Blake Shelton: “I don’t have an ideal of any makeup, it’s all about what you’re trying to say and mood. I think that’s the same with clothes for me too. And I’m not proud of this but I think that it really affects me. If I’m not comfortable, I’ll be like, ?I don’t even want to be here right now,’ if I don’t have the right feeling, because it’s who I am. I’m saying, ‘This is who I am.’ I think that’s true even if you’re a jeans and T-shirt person.”
Whether she can go to sleep with her makeup on: “No. I cannot go to sleep with makeup on. That is so gross! I don’t have a huge routine, but I wash my face with some cleanser that takes makeup off. I just recently started using these pads from a dermatologist that takes more makeup off. I cannot believe how much makeup was on there for all those years. I think about [when I was on tour] on a bus, trying to wash my face in that little sink. That’s what I did forever! And then I put on moisturizer. It’s not that deep. It is what it is. Some days you look good, some days you don’t.”

I?m absolutely appalled when women claim that they don?t take their makeup off before going to sleep, so I?m glad that Gwen is like ?of course I wash my face!? As for the rest of it? ugh, I do believe in ?you do you.? I think Gwen reeks of insecurity, but then again? she was deeply in love with a man who cheated on her constantly, so she?s dealing with her life the way she can. That?s how I think of it – makeup is her crutch and it makes her feel better, and really, what?s the harm? Besides the harm of her sons thinking it?s weird when she isn?t wearing makeup.

In the wake of the rise and fall of The Great Tiddlebanging of 2016, people are reconsidering their initial opinions of Gawke, the celebrity couple-dom of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. Gwake has been real for? wow, a year now? Is that right? Yes, it was pretty much a year ago exactly when Gwake started up and began showing us their love. And since Gwen is sort of dumb-in-love, of course she wants to marry Blake. That?s what Us Weekly says ? they claim that Gwake will marry by the end of the year.
Don?t speak, Gwen Stefani! When asked during On Air With Ryan Seacrest September 9 whether she?ll wed Blake Shelton, the No Doubt alum demurred, ?Everything is going so quickly. . . . I?m in the moment and, um, look at me, you?ve got me tongue-tied.?
Perhaps that?s because, as a Stefani insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly, the ?Used to Love You? singer, 46, and Shelton, 40, haven?t even told their families the date. Adds a Shelton source, ?They want to get married before the end of the year.?
Until then, the couple will stand up in front of friends, family and fans ? and sing. At Shelton?s tour kickoff in Oklahoma City September 9 and 10, the recent divorcs performed their duet, ?Go Ahead and Break My Heart,? before sharing backstage Snapchats. (In one of Stefani’s posts, Shelton held up an I ? Gwen T-shirt!)
?They are both very, very happy,? says a Shelton insider. ?Blake is having the time of his life with Gwen and feels so comfortable around her.?
She plans to make her big day with Shelton ? who was married to Miranda Lambert for four years prior to their July 2015 split ? an intimate celebration of that happiness.
?Gwen has said they both want something more low-key than their first weddings,? another source previously told Us. ?It would likely be at Blake’s ranch [in Oklahoma] or in the backyard. Gwen doesn’t really care, she is just in love with Blake and their life together.?

I find myself sort of? okay with the idea that Blake and Gwen will possibly marry this year. If it does happen, will it last forever? Of course not. But I do think they?ve gotten past the love-drunk phase and they?re sort of building their life together. By all accounts, Blake spends time with Gwen?s sons, and Gwen has made the effort to spend time with Blake in Oklahoma too. And yes, I would respect them more if they did something really low-key, like a simple backyard wedding. Not that they care what I think. I do wonder though? it feels like Gwen wants to get married, but is Blake really on board?

There are so many articles about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton that it’s hard to know where to start, but I guess the cover of US Magazine is as good a place as any. US, where these two gush about each other through sources while promoting their separate tours, buy tickets now. Don’t get me wrong I think this relationship is real, I just find it over-the-top and opportunistic. They were both on the rebound and found each other at the right time and they’ll tell you about it ad nauseam. US says they talk about getting married all the time and that Blake is planning the right moment to propose. Plus Gwen, 46, is trying to get pregnant while Blake is “OK with having children of his own or helping Gwen raise her kids.”
People has a very similar story about how these two are not engaged yet because they’re both on tour and the timing isn’t right but that “everyone is expecting it to happen at some point.” We know because it’s on the cover of US! Just wait to tell us until you have some real news. (After I wrote this Kaiser pointed me to this article on TMZ claiming these two have already hired a wedding planner. Don’t they have to get engaged first? What is going on?)
Gwen also takes the September cover of Cosmopolitan, where she of course talks about Blake. The styling is typical Gwen – garish makeup, loud prints and bizarrely cut dresses. She’s getting the most headlines for what she said about the end of her marriage, that no one would believe what happened but she can’t really talk about it. Is she talking about Gavin’s rumored relationship with the nanny or is there more to it? Is the nanny thing a smokescreen? So many questions.
On looking pretty tight with Blake Shelton during her second season on the show: “We were laughing our heads off when we saw the blind auditions. I love NBC, but they for sure edited stuff to look like we were flirting. They chose to run with that story before anything was even real. I hardly knew him. But it was like it was in the air?happening before it happened.”
On whether anybody knows the specifics about what happened with Gavin Rossdale: “Nobody except for my parents, the people involved, and whoever they told. Nobody would believe it if I could really say what happened. I went through months and months of torture.?
On whether she knew something was going on: “All you have to do is listen to every single song I?ve ever written and it?s all there. It?s an ongoing theme that I?ve had for a long time.?
On writing a song with Blake, which she never did with Gavin: ??We were both having trust issues, as you would if you were us. It was like, I have so many problems. How can I now be getting into another potentially huge problem? What am I doing? Blake wrote the song and sent it to me. He was like, ?Help me finish it.? I wrote a verse and sent it to him, but he was gone because he doesn?t live in L.A. He didn?t have Wi-Fi, so he wasn?t answering me back! As soon as he came back to town, he brought his guitar over. We were like, ?We wrote a song together! This is crazy!??

Gwen has admitted many times that she writes about her relationships and that her songs are obviously about her life. It’s easy enough to read the lyrics and try to figure it out. (Easier than actually listening to her music.) On her latest release, the songs Used to Love You and Rocket Ship seem to be about Gavin, and suggest that he did her wrong and was controlling. “You thought / There were no boundaries / What, you just pushed me too far / I guess nobody taught you… how to love” and “You’ve been wrapping these chains all around me / On a leash, thinking I’d obey… / That I wouldn’t, that I couldn’t escape.” That’s it though, it’s all vague. Gwen’s last album came out in 2006 and there are so many songs about fighting and making up that it makes me think she was having problems with Gavin from early on in their marriage. So maybe that’s part of the reason why she’s so over the top with Blake, it just seems easier with him. That could be what she means, that they put on such a show that nobody would believe how it really was at home.
People Magazine also writes that Gwen and Gavin are getting along as coparents and that “They haven’t had any problems getting along when it comes to their boys.”

As much as I got tired of hearing about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton?s relationship (be it real or not so real), I do feel a little sorry for Gwen. Her This is What the Truth Feels Like Tour isn?t mustering up much excitement – or ticket sales.
Back in May, we reported that tickets for the tour, which kicked off Tuesday at Boston?s Xfinity Center, were not selling all that well. It seems Gwen?s constant promotion and social media oversharing didn?t to anything to help those lagging sales. Ticket prices were slashed for shows and offered on discount sites. Heck, I got my tickets for her show on Groupon #noshame #imbroke.
Perez Hilton reported that Live Nation reps were handing out tickets to Tuesday?s show at the door. Since the concert was also live streamed on Yahoo!, the concert promoters moved the audience members seated on the lawn and in the back section of the arena up to the front, presumably to give the illusion of a packed house. Perez posted a video of the show on his site and it does look kind of sad, with rows and rows of empty seats.
On the positive side, the smaller audience did enjoy a great show. A review in the LA Times called the show ?fun? and complimented Gwen on her performance and enthusiasm, noting:
Stefani moved breezily through her catalog of solo and No Doubt hits, including a crunchy ?Just a Girl?; ?Hella Good,? which inspired a legitimately rowdy dance party in front of the stage; and ?Wind It Up,? with a video backdrop of mountain scenes to complement the song?sdaffy ?Sound of Music? sample.
?All my homies showed up tonight?? she asked the crowd after that last tune. ?You have to understand how starving ? absolutely starving ? I am for you guys.?
For two songs Stefani was joined by her old pal Eve, who?s also the tour?s opening act. ?Let Me Blow Ya Mind,? their initial collaboration from 2001, had an infectious swagger, while a faux-posh ?Rich Girl? showed Stefani still knows how to play with her image.

Gwen posted some pictures of the crowd on Instagram, along with one of a backstage meet and greet with a fan/doppelgnger. I tried to emulate Gwen?s style back in the day, but this gal makes me feel like I didn?t even try.

I?ve been actively ignoring, or trying to ignore, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton for months now. It?s not that they?re terrible people, it?s just that they were in the first flush of romance and they were being crazy-extra about it. Like, they were Tiddles-before-Tiddles. Or Tiddles was taking a page out of the Stefani-Shelton Playbook of PR Romances. But something happened in those months when I was ignoring Gwen: I actually missed her a little bit. As I was reading Gwen?s August cover interview for Harper?s Bazaar, I realized that I actually still like her and want good things for her. She?s had a terrible few years, but she seems happy now. You can read the full Bazaar piece here, and here are some highlights:
Why she?s not hiding her personal life these days: “It’s like, what’s there to hide? It’s because I have children. As a famous person, you start to think, ‘I can’t say all that because I’ll embarrass them or hurt them in some way.’ And especially now because they can see everything and hear everything? But I’ve done nothing I’m ashamed of ? Well, we all have a few things we’re ashamed of.”
She never thought she would be someone: “I’ve never been the type of person who thought I would have any impact on anyone. I just didn’t even have those kind of dreams, you know?”
Having a baby, Apollo, at the age of 44: “Yep, it was a surprise but it was also the beginning of a waking up, like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s beyond this world.’ He was kind of another beginning. And literally as soon as he was born,they called me about The Voice.” Apollo, now barely two, was “only 11 months old when everything happened? Everybody knows what happened next.”
The beginning of the end with Gavin Rossdale: “February 9. I obviously know the date. It was the beginning of hell. Like six, seven, eight months of torture, trying to figure out this big secret.”
How she got through the tough times: ?What happened was praying. That’s my childhood, that’s how I was raised. And I think I strayed from that. But you know when it gets that bad, you just get desperate? You’re on your knees. You’re like, ‘What do I do?’ You can’t even go to your parents and ask them what to do.”
Sharing custody with Gavin: “It was so insane because not only did my family break up, but then my kids are taken away like half the time, so that was really like, ‘What?! What did I do?’
The end of her marriage: ?My dreams were shattered. All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married, like what my parents have. Then I remember thinking, ‘There’s gotta be a reason for this.’ Of course you go through the ‘Why me?’ and feel sorry for yourself. But then I was like, ‘No, this happened to me already and I made something good out of it,’ and that was Tragic Kingdom? I had spent a lot of years not being confident about my songwriting. But I know that’s all I had left, and that was my gift. I had read somewhere if you don’t have gratitude and confidence in what you’ve been given, you’re nowhere.”
When Blake revealed his divorce: “July 7? There I was with my big secret, right? And that’s when Blake was like, ‘Everybody, before we go out there, I want to let everyone know that by the time this airs, I will be divorced.’ [I felt] exposed somehow, you know? But it was like being handed this gift of a friend who was going through the exact same thing at the exact same time? And then it was just like everything flipped. It went from horrible to, like, hopeful and, like, ‘Wow, God, you just don’t know what’s gonna happen next.’ I’m not here to talk about my personal life, but my record is my personal life, so!”
Moving forward: “I’m at a certain time in my life where I feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. Every day is art, you know? Some days are really bad, and some days are so good? [With Blake,] it’s crazy the support and love I’ve felt. Life is such a weird? I mean, I can’t believe I’m number one on a country chart.?

I don?t begrudge her the tell-all interviews or the openness with which she shares the pain of finding out that Gavin was cheating. It must still sting, and I think Gwen always believed that she would be married forever, and that marriage was for life, regardless of infidelity and whatever else. I do think she?s the kind of woman who just can?t be alone though ? she has no idea who she is if she?s not someone?s girlfriend or wife. As for her complaints about sharing custody of her sons with Gavin? did she really think that she was going to get sole custody?
