She loves showing love to her fans, and last night (January 20) Gwen Stefani showed up at the Orpheum in Los Angeles to deliver some amazing news.
The ?Hella Good? singer was in fine form as she posed for photos as part of the Priceless Surprise Performance shindig, hosted by MasterCard.
Speaking of her February 7th gig (her first solo show in six years), Stefani declared, ?[Performing] never gets old. It always is exciting, and it's always surprising to me that anyone's interested or that I get to do all this fun stuff. I feel so grateful. I've just started listening to all my old songs again and I'm learning them all. ... I don't remember any of the lyrics!"

Here are some photos of Gwen Stefani at The Voice?s Season 7 red carpet event last night in Hollywood. Is it just me or does she need a different kind of blonde? I know this is her ?look? ? the bright lipstick, full face of makeup and white-blonde hair, which has always served her well. But as she gets a bit older, I feel like she needs to soften her look a little bit. Even if she went for an ashy blonde, that might help a bit.
Anyway, Gwen is promoting her work on The Voice, plus another solo album. The album was produced by her BFF Pharrell Williams. Gwen gave a nice interview to Time Mag to promote her work ? go here to read. As I was skimming that piece, I was reminded of the long-standing controversy about Gwen: her tone-deafness when it comes to anything racially sensitive. Gwen might be a lovely person in real life, but she has a history of cultural appropriation. Time Mag asks her specifically about the ?Harajuku Girls,? the four Japanese ?dancers? (re: props) that she used several years back. She ?renamed? them as Love, Angel, Music and Baby and she treated them like pets in public. Stefani received some criticism from various quarters, and Margaret Cho specifically called her out ? go here to review. So, Time asked Gwen about it and this is what she said:
Time Mag: Looking back on Love. Angel. Music. Baby., do you regret the Harajuku Girls given the criticism you received?
Gwen: No. There?s always going to be two sides to everything. For me, everything that I did with the Harajuku Girls was just a pure compliment and being a fan. You can?t be a fan of somebody else? Or another culture? Of course you can. Of course you can celebrate other cultures. That?s what Japanese culture and American culture have done. It?s like I say in the song [?Harajuku Girls?]: it?s a ping-pong match. We do something American, they take it and they flip it and make it so Japanese and so cool. And we take it back and go, ?Whoa, that?s so cool!? That?s so beautiful. It?s a beautiful thing in the world, how our cultures come together. I don?t feel like I did anything but share that love. You can look at it from a negative point of view if you want to, but get off my cloud. Because, seriously, that was all meant out of love.
And the girls themselves, it was just a magical thing to get to know them. They were dancers that were cast, but they became real. One girl was a Japanese girl that grew up in L.A., and she got to hang around with three different Japanese girls that were from different places in Japan and had different backgrounds. They became best friends, and she got to go to Japan and see her heritage and see how we are all the same. And I got to hang out with girls for the first time.

Yeah, the criticism wasn?t that she hired four Japanese dancers. The criticism wasn?t that she loves Japanese culture. The criticism was that she renamed the dancers and treated those women as props? culturally appropriated props.

Here are some assorted photos of Gwen Stefani in NYC yesterday. She was photographed out and about, and then at the Refinery 29 Country Club Launch. The outfits are cute (if you like Gwen?s style). As for the work Gwen may or may not have gotten done recently? I still don?t know. I thought she looked good at the VMAs until she tried to speak, and then you could really see the ?frozen? in her face. Then at the Emmys, it seemed like she was trying to look like? Gwyneth Paltrow, maybe? But in robot form. Some say Gwen?s Botox (or whatever) looks like it?s ?settled? since those two events, but I?m not so sure. Radar?s on-call plastic surgeon thinks it?s more than just Botox too:
Gwen Stefani arrived at the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards looking pretty different from her pop diva days, and a top plastic surgeon tells RadarOnline.com exclusively that she appears to have gone under the knife! Dr. Anthony Youn says that the ?Hollaback Girl? appears to have had a nose job, eyelid lift, Botox injections and skin resurfacing!
?Her eyes look more open, and may be the result of a conservative, well-performed upper eyelid lift, which is called Blepharoplasty,? Youn tells Radar. ?Her forehead is also exceedingly smooth for a woman her age, possibly due to injections of Botox.?
How could Stefani, 44, still have the youthful skin of a 20-year-old?
?I also suspect that her perfect skin could be the result of some well-performed chemical peels, such as the ZO Controlled Depth Peel,? Dr. Youn claims.
As if that wasn?t enough, Dr. Youn says, ?It also appears that her nose has been thinned at one time.?

Dr. Youn has not treated Gwen, obviously, so that?s just his opinion. Personally, I don?t think it?s a question of IF Gwen had work but what kind of work it is and whether it will ever ?settle?. I think there?s a lot of ?Tox and fillers at work? and? Maybe a nose job at some point, but I?m not sure if that?s recent. Do these celebrities look at photos of Nicole Kidman and think, ?Yes, that?s totally preferable to aging naturally?? I?ll say it again ? there?s a happy medium. I wouldn?t fault Gwen (or any celebrity) from experimenting with Botox or some fillers or whatever, but don?t go overboard to the point where you can’t move your face at all.

I think Gwen Stefani was the only person who did the VMAs and the Emmys this year. Oh, wait. No she wasn?t. Adam Levine was there too. Anyway, can I just say? Her VMAs look was so much better. At the Emmys, Gwen wore this Versace which I guess was inspired by what Donatella Versace would wear, something like that. As such, Gwen was styled a bit like Donatella ? white-blonde hair, straight, hanging in her face. With lots of Botox. The state of Gwen?s face seemed worse at the Emmys than at the VMAs, I think. Which is depressing. As for the gown? eh. I dislike it, but on the E! Red Carpet show, it actually looked better in motion. It?s a rock n? roll look, not really a stuffy TV awards show look. The Versace would have been completely at home at the Grammys.
Gwen also had a John Travolta/Adele Dazeem moment when she was announcing Stephen Colbert as the winner. She pronounced Colbert?s name like ?Colbort?. Or #surfbort, if you will. Jimmy Fallon tried to jack Colbert?s Emmy because Gwen mispronounced it. #Colbort.
And here?s Kate Mara looking like a grumpy gremlin for some reason. Why are these Mara girls always so dark, moody and affected? Mara wore this absolutely tragic J. Mendel gown that doesn?t know what it?s doing. Look at how many style gimmicks were attempted and abandoned half-way through. Mara?s stylist might hate her. At least her hair looked cute.

Here are some more fashion photos from last night?s VMAs. Let?s start with Gwen Stefani in a LAMB ensemble that she apparently designed herself. On the red carpet, I thought she looked great. The hot pink/fuchsia and black combo popped and she seemed to be very comfortable and rocking the whole thing. But when she got on stage with Snoop Dogg? I don?t know, I disliked her whole vibe. I thought she seemed Botoxed and frozen, plus I think Gwen and Snoop got high before they presented.
Solange Knowles in H&M Studio Collection. H&M sent us a publicity email where they noted that the whole ensemble comes in under $150 (before taxes). The jacket costs $79.95, the pants cost $69.95. Would you wear it? I probably would, but I wouldn?t have any expectation that the tuxedo would last very long. Also, did anyone see any Solange cutaways? I think I saw her, like, once. There needed to be more cutaways, especially when Beyonce was singing about elevator drama.
Here?s Lorde in Chanel. Ugh. I mean, I get it. She?s not Taylor Swift. She?s not Ariana Grande. Lorde is her own person and she?s not your cutesy manufactured pop tart. But this feels like it?s just another version of try-hard. Trying too hard to be serious, trying too hard to be dark and goth. Oh, and SHE IS NOT ROCK.
And Kesha made an appearance too. She wore a Johanna Johnson gown and her hair is currently this weird shade. Er? I?m happy that she seems healthier these days.

Gwen was almost flat before, wow did she get some boobs as a mommy… I applaud her for choosing to breastfeed her child (many celebrities would not) and for doing it in public.

I usually don?t go all ooh-ing and aw-ing about babies, but I actually did make some cooing sounds when I looked through these photos of Gwen Stefani and her family. Gwen, Gavin Rossdale and their three sons headed to a party in LA over the weekend, and we got a good look at their newest son Apollo, who is less than three months old. Apollo was sleeping on his mom?s shoulder ? he looked exhausted! Sleeping babies are the best ? he just looks like such a chill little dude. All of Gwen?s babies are sort of like that though, aren?t they? They?re rock star kids, happy enough to sleep on tour buses or mom?s shoulder, always ready to roll at a moment?s notice.
Also: do you enjoy Gwen?s outfit? I do. On someone else, this would look try-hard, but on Gwen? I don?t know, I believe she probably legitimately just threw this together in a few minutes. I didn?t care for the diamante-studded jeans at first, but now I?m kind of digging them. Gwen lost almost all of her baby weight within just a few months, but I like that she?s still working layers and comfortable-looking ensembles.

Keeping her health one of her top priorities, Gwen Stefani stopped by Jesun Acupuncture Clinic in Koreatown, CA on Wednesday (April 30).
The No Doubt frontwoman donned an all-black ensemble, accented with a leopard print bag as she headed inside with a smile.
On Tuesday, Gwen confirmed she will be taking over as a coach on "The Voice" for season seven.
Though the news was already out there, the mom of three took to Instagram with a picture of her hands making the show's logo, along with the caption "it's true! gx @nbcthevoice."

Though it was a forgone conclusion, Gwen Stefani officially announced she is joining season seven of "The Voice."
Taking to Instagram, the No Doubt lead posted a photo showing her holding a microphone like the television competition's logo, along with the caption "it's true! gx @nbcthevoice."
Rumors of Gwen joining the show have been circulating since earlier this month.
Jumping the gun on the announcement, Christina Aguilera tweeted earlier today, ?So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest.?
