He’s the consummate celebrity family man, and Mark Wahlberg recently announced that he and wife Rhea Durham are expecting their fourth child.
The “Italian Job” actor told press he’s evening out their household as the soon-to-be-born is a girl. “I’m having another girl. So I’ll have two girls and two boys.”
Wahlberg also explained that having a large family isn’t something new to him, as he grew up with a plethora of siblings.
“I’m the youngest of nine, and my dad has a few others. No, four is enough. We were all raised with a lot of love. But we didn’t get the kind of attention I think that we all needed. My parents had to provide to put food on the table. My mission in life is to raise my kids right. With all the success I’ve had in the world, if I fail at that, my life means nothing.”

Over the past two months, we?ve seen a lot of pictures coming out from the set of The Fighter, the true story of boxer-turned-trainer-turned-crackhead Dicky Eklund. Christian Bale plays Eklund, and Mark Wahlberg costars as ?Irish? Micky Ward, Eklund?s half-brother. Apparently, Bale and Wahlberg have become quite close on the set - close enough that Mark is really, really worried about Christian Bale?s weight loss. The photos coming out of the set are not flattering for Bale - he is playing a crackhead, after all. Bale is rather famous for his extreme ?method? acting, and his habit of taking on extremes when preparing a character. His habit seems to be to take a role where he has to loose an extreme amount of weight, then he takes on a role where he has to really buff up. Mark Wahlberg is trying to convince Bale that he can?t keep doing this to his body:
?You gotta eat man. You?re messing with your health!? Mark Wahlberg made that desperate plea to co-star Christian Bale when Bale continued to starve himself after dropping more than 40 pounds for their film ?The Fighter? sources say.
?Christian is a method actor,? a Hollywood insider told the Enquirer. ?If a role calls for him to look like a drug dealer, or he has to play someone who hasn?t slept in a year, he?ll go without food to look the part.?
?But the danger comes after he takes off that weight, and then eats everything in sight to put it back on for the next role. That kind of yo-yo dieting can be deadly. Mark and Christian are friends, and Mark is concerned about him.?
[Christian] looks scarily skeletal for his role as a boxer-turned-trainer who?s nearly KO?s by drugs and crime in ?The Fighter?.
?It?s crazy. Christian has been living on fruit and water. He?s emaciated,? the source said. ?Besides eating practically nothing, he exercises a lot to keep the weight off.
Wahlberg - a health fanatic who worked himself into great shape to play a champion boxer in ?The Fighter? - has begged Bale to stop dieting, said the source.
?Mark feels Christian is taking the whole ?in character? thing too far. He?s afraid Christian is getting Karen Carpenter-thin, and he?s worried about his heart,? the source divulged.
?He wants Christian to realize that acting is a job, and it?s not worth risking your health.?

I totally agree with Mark ?Say Hello To Your Mutha? Wahlberg, if this report is true. I?m kind of beyond expressing my appreciation for Bale?s extreme physical transformations. If it was just once, for a role that was incredible and groundbreaking, and a story that needed to be told, perhaps I would appreciate it more. But Bale seems to consistently choose parts that allow him to engage in a eating disorder while calling it ?art?. It?s not healthy, physically or psychologically. And Bale is doing real, permanent damage to his body - I don?t buy that Bale keeps loosing this weight with the help and approval of nutritionists and doctors. I think he?s doing it without any advice at all. I hope film producers are taking note, and reconsidering Bale for certain roles that they know will only feed his eating disorder.

Mark Wahlberg was rushed to a hospital Friday morning after breathing in too much smoke while filming The Fighter on Thursday night. A smoke machine being used for atmosphere was running while Mark “acted” and apparently he got a little overzealous with his inhaling. The director must have told him to act angry. He was released shortly thereafter and was back to work the same day.
“When he woke up Friday morning he was gasping for breath so he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was put on a breathing device that helped clear his lungs.”
It really took until Friday morning to feel the effects from Thursday night? Maybe Mark decided to wake-and-bake and took too big of a hit. That’s entirely possible. It’s also entirely possible that Mark Wahlberg is a big pussy. Take your pick.

Suffering a bit of a setback, Mark Wahlberg was reportedly hospitalized after suffering smoke inhalation on the set of his new film “The Fighter” on Friday afternoon.
A source tells, “Mark was working on a scene [Thursday night] where a smoke machine was being used for atmosphere and apparently he breathed in too much smoke.”
The insider adds, “When he woke up Friday morning he was gasping for breath so he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was put on a breathing device that helped clear his lungs.”
Fortunately enough, the tough actor was released the very same day - getting back to work on the action flick, which co-stars Christian Bale.

Two weekends ago, Mark Wahlberg finally married Rhea Durham, the mother of his three children. Personally, I think Rhea deserved some kind of award for putting up with his crap for so many years, but she still stuck around until she got the ring, so whatever. The wedding was held at a Catholic church in Beverly Hills, and Rhea wore Marchesa. It was all very lovely. But, according to the National Enquirer, there was something not-so-lovely about one of the wedding gifts the couple received.
The gift came from Mark?s Three Kings costar and friend, George Clooney. Guess what Clooney sent? Scented candles? A serving platter? A toaster? Not so much. According to the Enquirer, it was a package including ?a ball and chain; handcuffs; a straightjacket inscribed with his name; and a photo of Marky Mark peering forlornly through jalihouse bars.? Ah? funny?
To his closest pals, prankster George Clooney will forever be ?George Clown-ey? for wacky stunts like? sending buddy Mark Wahlberg a wedding gift that arrived just before his ?I do? to new bride Rhea Durham - who definitely did NOT echo Almost Hubby?s delighted belly-laugh when he opened the box and found: a ball and chain; handcuffs; a straightjacket inscribed with his name; and a photo of Marky Mark peering forlornly through jalihouse bars.
Clown-ey ships the same hilarious gift to pals preparing to walk The Last Mile? er, I mean walk down the aisle.

I think what disturbs me most of all is the idea that Clooney sends this ?prank? wedding gift to all of his soon-to-be hitched friends. Where is that line between ?prank? and ?really rude?? You know what this reminds me of? Mad Men. Granted, I have Mad Men on the brain (it premieres THIS SUNDAY!!!), but I think the reference is apt. It?s that sort of retro, outdated, misogynistic ?marriage is bondage for men? idea. Granted, for some men, marriage is bondage. But it?s bondage for a lot of women too! And why shouldn?t Mark marry Rhea, if that?s what she wanted? For goodness sake. Sometimes I just hate Clooney.

Wahlberg donned a dark suit and the bride wore a white strapless Marchesa dress with silver embroidery and a Neil Lane diamond-and-platinum cushion-cut ring complemented by a diamond bracelet and earrings. “She looked like a princess and beyond stunning. Mark looked ecstatic,” says an eyewitness shortly after the ceremony, which lasted for about 45 minutes in the church, which was decorated with candles and Pink and light purple roses.

Celebrating their love for one another, Mark Wahlberg married his longtime model girlfriend Rhea Durham at the Good Shephard Catholic Church in Beverly Hills on Saturday (August 1).
For the nuptials, Durham wore a white, strapless Marchesa dress with silver embroidery paired with a Neil Lane diamond bracelet and earrings while Wahlberg sported a dark suit.
With friends and family in attendance for the big day, Wahlberg exchanged vows with his lady during a 45-minute ceremony in front of 20 guests.
Afterwards, the cute couple left the church and headed to Mark’s Beverly Hills home for a small gathering.
Previously mentioning that the timing is right for married life, Wahlberg told press: “I was not prepared to be married ... when I was 20 or 30. Committing to making it work and all the other things that go into building a solid foundation is where I’m at now.”
