| Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp after 15 months of marriage | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I told you guys it was weird that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp hadn?t walked a red carpet together in a while. But even I didn?t think that THIS would happen, right now, at this moment. TMZ reports that Amber Heard has just filed for divorce from Depp after just fifteen months of marriage. I mean? yes, this union was always going to end in heartbreak, booze and divorce filings. But did anyone think that they wouldn?t even make it to the two-year mark?
Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp … shockingly 3 days after Johnny’s mom died. Amber filed her divorce petition Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple married in February of last year, yet Amber is asking for spousal support.
Our sources say the couple had NO prenup.
It’s especially harsh because Johnny was extremely close to his mother. She says in the divorce docs that they separated on May 22 … 2 days after Johnny’s mom passed. As if that’s not enough … Johnny’s new movie, “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” opens Friday.
[From TMZ]
I?m speechless? but I?m not. I?m shocked but not surprised. I do feel bad that Depp?s mom just passed away ? I did not know that, and this must be a really difficult time for him. Made worse by the fact that his trophy wife just publicly dumped his ass. Granted, Johnny Depp is no angel, and he?s spent much of the last two years looking like he was barely crawling out of the biggest bender in the world. A bender called ?Mid-Life Crisis.? Anyway? it will be fascinating to see what happens next. Stay tuned? we might have another Summer of Splits on our hands.

| Johnny Depp to attend atheist Reason Rally in Washington in June | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I’m an atheist (and former Catholic) and I always took it for granted that it wasn’t a big deal to not believe in God – until I moved to the south. (I’d previously lived in the northeast and in Europe.) Suddenly people were asking me to go to all sorts of church events and when I would explain matter-of-factly that we were non-believers I would get responses like “we’ll pray for you” and “what are you exactly?” So whenever I hear that a celebrity is an atheist it makes me feel like it’s getting more mainstream acceptance. That’s why I was kind of thrilled to hear that Johnny Depp is slated to attend the Reason Rally, held by secular and atheist groups, in Washington, DC this June. Some of my friends are going to this, I don’t live far from DC and I might plan on going too.
Other celebrity attendees include Margaret Cho and Julia Sweeney (of SNL) along with scientists Bill Nye and Lawrence Krauss. I think Margaret Cho is a hack and she’s pretty awful on the reboot of Fashion Police, plus Johnny Depp is drunk and slurry most of the time, but it’s cool that he’s doing this. Here’s

Here are some photos of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp at the Palm Springs International Film Festival over the weekend. They attended the big opening gala, which is where Depp picked up an award, and Heard presented an award to Alicia Vikander. Amber?s dress is Dolce & Gabbana and I swear, this looks like at least two other dresses she?s worn in the past few months. Or maybe everything blends together with Amber ? she?s a very pretty woman, but I think her charisma-vacuum vibe causes me to not really remember her clothes. As for Depp?well, he looks three sheets to the wind in these photos. Even if he wasn?t drunk in these photos, he certainly carries that ?drunk? look with him all the time now.
As Depp was accepting his award at the PSIFF, he remembered to thank his wife, as they are just one month away from celebrating their one-year anniversary. Depp said: ?I also have to thank my wife Amber for putting up with me, for living with all these characters, which can’t be easy. It’s hard for me?it’s got to be hard for her.” As for Amber, she has a new interview with The Independent ? you can read the full piece here. She talks for a bit about The Danish Girl and transgender issues, but it was the other stuff I found interesting.
Moving to NYC & modeling: ?I thought I had died and gone to heaven. From that moment on I was different.? Modelling, however, held no interest for her, even from the beginning: ?I hated it.?
The lack of roles for women: ?I?m a woman… I get to giggle sometimes. In case you haven?t noticed, go see a movie right now and tell me what the majority of compelling speaking roles are.? The roles she?s offered are ?pedantic and over-played stereotypes?Because there are few parts, there?s fierce competition and anything that?s led by a woman is not finance-able. So those movies are typically under-financed and under-budgeted and under-made. Film-makers are 90 per cent male, so we don?t have a more balanced perspective from our storytellers. We?re way behind in this possibly progressive medium.?
Sexism in filmmaking: ?It takes not just actors and actresses noticing it. It takes audiences saying, ?I will show up to see a movie led by a female cast or one focused on the female life or elements of female perspective. It takes the studio system to be tired of this old, formulaic approach to making movies. They?ve got to be interested in changing ? the system of financing movies has to change.?
[From The Independent]
I?ve said this before, but there actually is a reason why Amber hasn?t managed to break out as a legitimate star: it?s because she?s really not all that talented, and she has the on-screen presence of a wet noodle. Is she beautiful? For sure. But she?s utterly forgettable on-screen. I?m just saying? in Amber?s case in particular, it?s not just sexism in Hollywood. It?s that producers would rather hire someone who can actually ACT.

| Johnny Depp & Amber Heard wear black at 'Black Mass' premiere: ugh' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard at last night?s BFI London Film Festival premiere of Black Mass. Amber wore her hair in curls (looks nice) and she got all decked out in this lingerie-looking Dolce & Gabbana. I don?t really think this is dressy enough for the outing, but she looks fine. I mean, compared to Depp? she looks fine. If you can get past Depp?s three diamond hoop earrings, vest, three necklaces, lifts (seriously, look at those shoes) and what I think is an old-fashioned pocket watch with a chain, then maybe you?ll notice that he?s still looking kind of bloated.
You know what surprises me a little bit? That Amber hasn?t gotten pregnant. I know she thought that marrying him would be great for her career (she was wrong), and she really thought she would be working non-stop, but I thought she would get pregnant sooner rather than later. Guess I was wrong! Anyway, Depp has a new interview with The Telegraph ? you can read the full piece here. He chats about Whitey Bulger, his relationship with Vanessa Paradis and some weirdness with some of his real estate holdings.
Depp wanted to meet Bulger: “I made a request through his attorney to sit down with him to attempt to sponge some mannerisms and voice and take as much as I could from him. I wasn’t interested in asking him about his crimes or anything like that, I just wanted some personal idiosyncrasies. But I got the message back to say Jimmy had declined my visit because of his dislike for the book and especially his dislike for the two Boston Globe reporters who had nagged him for 20 years.”
He sees the humanity in Bulger: “What attracted me to Jimmy Bulger were the various facets of his personality and his humanity because I felt that the only way I could approach playing a character like him was to find his human side first and then map that out to see where it took the turn. He was a very complicated man. I think there’s a very sensitive side to him and he could be a caring, lovely family man who worshipped his brother and was very loyal to the community. There was something poetic about what he was able to do, being a proud Irish immigrant, loyal to his neighbourhood, a great caregiver to his mother and very close to his brother. But his business was violence. He would take old ladies’ groceries to their house and 10 minutes later he would crush someone’s skull. So I walked the tightrope to show a very dark side but at the same time a human, caring side.”
His relationship with Paradis: ?Vanessa and I get along wonderfully. There?s no weirdness at all and no hostility. Life happens and we spent 14 great years together and have raised a couple of kids who we are both incredibly proud of.”
His daughter Lily-Rose becoming a celebrity/model/actress at 15: “What is happening with Lily-Rose is something I didn’t expect this early, for sure. But things happen when they happen. Her becoming an actress was never my hope or dream for her but that’s what she enjoys doing. So I am very proud of her because she is super together and a sharp, sharp kid. She tells me everything and if she needs any advice I am there. But yeah, it’s happening pretty fast and when I see her with all that make-up and stuff, it’s disturbing.”
The huge property he owns in France: “I don’t know why it was ever put up for sale. It was never my idea, so I had it pulled off the market. The place has been very good to me and I watched my babies grow up there. I don’t believe I could ever let it go, because when I become smoke I would love for them to have their kids there.”
He?s still a rock star, man: “Music is still part of my life. But I hate the idea of people coming to see me play the guitar because they’ve seen me in movies. You want people who are listening to be only interested in the music.”
He just wants simplicity: “Simplicity, that’s what I want. It’s been a rare commodity for me for a number of years, but I enjoy being able to hang out with my girl, read the newspaper and sit back and start to read a book by someone I admire like Lawrence Krauss or Christopher Hitchens. And that’s it ? simplicity, where the game of Hollywood doesn’t exist.”
[From The Telegraph]
Simplicity, man. The kind of simplicity one can only get from a private island, a yacht, a large French estate, a large Nashville estate and a huge LA mansion. The kind of simplicity one can only get from endless scarves, necklaces, chained pocket watches, vests, earrings, bracelets, rings, rat-chewed hats and more scarves. The kind of simplicity one can only get by making endless studio films for eight-figure paychecks. He?s a poet, man. Simplicity.

Johnny Depp visited Jimmy Kimmel yesterday, and you can tell he was itching to go full-on Scarfy again, but he restrained himself. One lonely, double-sided kerchief hung out of his pocket as he smoked his way into the studio. Remember, this is the new-old version of Depp. He’s receiving acclaim and accolades for his Black Mass transformation, so major league scarves are in the closet for now. Betcha they’ll be back as soon as this movie has been out for a few weeks. The film goes nationwide next Friday, so it won’t be long until Johnny can get back to his normal torn-hat getup. I haven’t made it to the movies since May, but this one is worth dropping everything to watch.
During the appearance, Kimmel mentions that Amber Heard did not take Johnny’s name, contrary to a report from a few months ago, which could have been one of those cases where Amber tests her friends by slipping them misinformation. Kimmel blows Depp’s mind here. He asks Johnny where the “Depp” name originated from, and Johnny doesn’t know. Then Kimmel tells a corny joke about why Amber didn’t take the Depp name, and Johnny says he might take Amber’s name. It could be an offhanded remark (like when he joked about eating his dogs to fix Terriergate), but who knows.
In this clip, Johnny talks about how he hates watching his own movies, but the Black Mass filmmakers insisted he sit through the Cannes premiere. He fell asleep about 15 times. Eh. I’d make fun of him, but I almost fell asleep during Avengers: Age of Ultron.

| Johnny Depp goes sans scarves for 'Black Mass' in Venice: what does it mean' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Johnny Depp decided to go in a very different direction at the Venice Film Festival Black Mass photocall. Don’t get me wrong, he still looked like a weirdo in this green sports jacket (which Kaiser says looks like he’s playing the Masters in Atlanta). Yet he left the scarves at home! Well, they’re probably strewn across his hotel room, but seriously, this is a huge statement. Johnny’s career downswing was associated with a plethora of scarves. In Venice, he is no longer Scarfy. He is Johnny Depp, making a comeback. His hair still looks greasy, but he looks like he got some sleep. Maybe the alcohol is back in moderation, which would be great. But girl, those shoes…
The trade news circuit is buzzing about how this movie will be “a major comeback” for ol’ Depp, and he may possibly achieve a true return to form. As Kaiser mentioned yesterday, Sienna Miller’s supporting role was cut from the film, so there’s no Sienna fashion at Venice. In her absence (no slam against her), the entire film is said to be “acted and directed with tremendous confidence and verve.” Maybe this really is Johnny’s Oscar movie. I wasn’t convinced by the gimmicky first trailer, but his scary stomach crunches in the third trailer made me wanna watch the whole feature.
Here’s Dakota Johnson’s underwhelming red carpet turn. She’ll probably turn it up at the premiere, but this black, full-length dress looks so Amish crochet. Dakota looks tired, like she tripped through a pile of Depp’s discarded scarves. I’m also including photos of Joel Edgerton (who is supposed to be excellent as Whitey Bulger’s childhood bud/FBI agent) and Scott Cooper. No Benedict Cumberbatch! Poor Kaiser.

| Amber Heard: 'I fall in love again and again' with Johnny Depp | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Amber Heard covers the July issue of Elle in a malliot swimsuit, 1980s hair combo that looks straight out of a Jane Fonda workout video. The editorial is much better. Amber’s promoting her role in Magic Mike XXL. She’s also promoting her marriage to Johnny Depp. I don’t mean that as shade. Amber talks about Johnny with Elle. Johnny used to sleepily interrupt her interviews, and Amber does leak gossip to her friends (to test them). But she has never discussed their relationship with a magazine until now.
Amber also spends a chunk of the interview complaining about fame and her career. She’s made no secret of wanting to be Action Jolie and disliking “hot” roles. Now Amber’s discussing all of the scripts she has to reject. It’s interesting:
On her marriage to Johnny: “I fall in love again and again. Nothing is a dramatic change. We’ve been together for a long time now, so it’s been a fairly organic process. I have a fiercely independent spirit.”
On the dearth of female roles: “I get a stack of scripts, like, once a month, and most of the time, you find these placeholder girls that are there to provide a bounce for the male character. So we know he’s funny because she’s serious and she’s mad at him. We know he’s strong because she needs saving. So really her job is to validate this personality trait of our hero or male. I mean we’re trying to imitate life, and it seems to me a deeply saddening injustice that we are so uncreative and uninterested in developing representations of female life.”
She hates being placed in a Barbie box: “I feel like I’m constantly fighting against my exterior, or this exterior presentation of myself because of how I look or perhaps because of who I’m with.”
Her fear of fame: “The thing that really scares me is the potential of losing my freedom. I never want for my life to lose the ability to transverse the world, with freedom and ease. The freedom and ease I have worked so hard to acquire for myself.”
[From Elle]
Piles of scripts. That’s the part that throws Amber’s story off. Everyone knows that female roles in Hollywood are rarely as meaty as men’s roles But Amber tossed in a visual to represent how in demand she is as an actress. She’s promoting Magic Mike XXL, not high art. Maybe I’m reading too much into it. She’s pretty tough in a few movies (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and Syrup) and has a sultry appeal, but Amber is not an amazing actress. She can turn on the charm or appear cold as ice. Those are her two onscreen modes.
I don’t know when the Elle interview happened, but it also feels like damage control. Amber’s never been open about her private life. Why now?
P.S. Yesterday was Johnny’s 52nd birthday. Entertainment Weekly put together a tribute.

We all know that celebrities love their pets, and Johnny Depp is in a tough spot regarding Pistol and Boo, his two Yorkshire terriers that are currently living in Australia.
According to multiple reports, the pair of Yorkies were brought into the country illegally, with no permits or quarantine period, and now the authorities will put the dogs down unless the ?Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales? actor flies them back to the USA by Saturday.
Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce told press, "There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them. But if we start letting movie stars?even though they've been the Sexiest Man Alive twice?to come into our nation [and break the laws], then why don't we just break the laws for everybody? It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States. Just because he's Johnny Depp doesn't make him exempt from Australian laws. The way this works is if we are going to make an excuse for Johnny Depp because he's got a private jet and brought in his dogs then I suppose you have to start making exemptions and excuses for everybody. The reason you can walk through a park in Brisbane and not have in the back of your mind, 'What happens if a rabid dog comes out and bites me or bites my kid?' is because we've kept that disease out. I'll tell you how close it is: it's in Bali, it's just next door. So this is not fanciful stuff, and therefore we're very diligent about what comes into our nation.?
