Here’s some photos of Amber Heard getting all kissy with Johnny Depp on the set of Black Mass. Amber looks like she’s really into the Whitey Bulger costume — are those Wrangler jeans? Johnny’s costume jeans don’t come with the official Wrangler tag, but they’re pretty close to the smooshed-booty look that I see so often in my native Oklahoma. Johnny is shooting in Boston, but that locale doesn’t rule out Wranglers.
A new story in this week’s issue of Grazia (via the Mail) says that Amber and Johnny are completely enamored and preparing to marry this fall. Grazia isn’t the most reliable source, but they quote Amber’s dad, David Heard. David and Johnny are super tight for one big reason — Johnny believes that David is “the closest thing to Hunter S. Thompson that I’ve ever met.” That pretty much guarantees credibility of these quotes from Amber’s dad:
After recent reports suggested Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were expecting their first child together, the actress’ father has said the couple will wait till after they’re married… which isn’t likely to be too far away.
The 28-year-old and her Hollywood actor beau, who got engaged at Christmas, are planning to wed in the autumn according to her dad David, Grazia reports.
“There is a right way to do things and she and Johnny are the type of people that do it right. We will have grandchildren, but after the wedding,” he told the magazine from his Los Angeles home. “They are both so busy right now, both doing films, so they have no date but it will be sooner rather than later. Probably this Fall.”
He went on to say that it was Johnny, 50, who was keen to marry Amber, after previously splitting from his ex Vanessa Paradis in 2012. “It’s the time in Johnny’s life where he is thinking he can spend more time with the kids,” David added.

One variable is left: Did Amber make this sh-t up and feed it to her dad like she does when she tests her friends? I doubt it. Amber is a proud daddy’s girl. He wouldn’t talk without her permission either. We’ve already heard from Johnny that he wants to make 100 babies with Amber. Enjoy that visual.
One minor sidenote: George Jung was released from prison on Tuesday. He served almost 20 years for his role in pioneering the US cocaine trade. Johnny played Jung in Blow and visited him in prison to research his role. That’s not too important, but I found it interesting — especially since Johnny’s playing another bad guy now.

Last night must have been one of the best night’s of Johnny Depp‘s life. Here was a perfect excuse to throw on a costume and escort his beautiful lady, Amber Heard, to the Met Gala. Amber wore Giambattista Valli haute couture. Her vibe reminded me very much of Angelina Jolie’s recent Elie Saab at the Oscars. The styling is completely different from Jolie, but Amber is still trying for a more sophisticated vibe. She looks good with a teased updo and strong red lips. Her jewelry is Fred Leighton. Amber didn’t fit in with the costume theme at all. Luckily, Johnny was there to make up for any lack of adventure on her part. Us Weekly declared that channeled Mr. Peanut in his tux with tails, little white gloves, and a cane. I can’t do any better than that description. He’s so quirky and eccentric and shameless.
Suki Waterhouse wore Burberry that looked like Marchesa. All those ruffles and tiers. I was actually okay with this dress because it fits the theme without going overboard. Then I saw the squished rack. No bueno. Suki’s hair and makeup is probably the best it’s ever looked. The blood red lips are ravishing. She’s having a blast.
Bradley Cooper walked the red carpet separately from Suki. He was wolfy in Tom Ford. His tux looks like it was tailored about 10 pounds of muscle ago. Dude looks uncomfortable.
Chrissy Teigen went for a subdued look in this gray Ralph Lauren gown with a ruffled halter neck. She dressed it up with some side boob and a side of classy John Legend. Chrissy gets the audience participation vote by choosing her hair extensions with much care on Twitter.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are still in NYC. She’s filming a movie there, but he’s in town for her 28th birthday festivities. These photos might be overkill after yesterday’s weird bandana outing, but I’m still watching. Maybe they were also celebrating Amber’s inclusion on People’s Most Beautiful list. I think Amber is stunning (and knock-out gorgeous with the right styling), but seeing her on that list is surprising. I’m just saying that she’s been in movies for a decade, and she’s always been this beautiful. She should have hit the list before this year.
Johnny’s still wearing his ratty hat, but I’m glad he left the pocket bandanna at home for the night. He kept pointing at the sticker on his jeans that reads, “We Are You.” Does anyone know what that means? Google doesn’t reveal a clue, and I need to know. Amber’s dressed down compared to the red velvet dress she wore the night prior. This was a low-key outing to an esoteric, rare book shop. Amber wore a Led Zeppelin t-shirt and had her hair in a braided updo.
A fan handed Johnny a single rose, and he presented it to Amber. He also had gifts delivered to their hotel. You can see pictures of these trinkets here. Amber received a huge bouquet (five dozen?) of red roses and a budget-looking cake. The cake looked like it was marked half-off after Easter. Seriously! I love cake so much, and I’d be upset if Johnny Depp gave me that cake. Maybe I’m being too tough on him. He may have sat down and plunked down a poem on his manual typewriter late last night. Oh, Johnny.

These are photos of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard yesterday in NYC. Do they look somber to you? That’s the conclusion some people would draw from their downward gazes. Especially since Transcendence became Johnny’s fourth consecutive flop. I keep saying Johnny needs a break. He can afford a break, right? He’s got plenty of money, and that private island can always be liquidated. After another Pirates movie and the Alice in Wonderland sequel, he’ll have more millions.
By the way, I wasn’t the only one who wondered what the heck happened with Transcendence. Deadline published a full analysis yesterday afternoon. It’s an interesting read.
These pictures don’t seem too different from Depp’s mangagement ring debut a few weeks ago. Johnny looks a little sheepish, but Amber doesn’t seem any different, moodwise. Those braids are very “young,” but she can get away with the hairstyle. Maybe Johnny’s into braids. He probably wants braids. His hat is still the worst.
I do wonder about this couple and if they’ll make it to the altar. Johnny wants it bad, but Amber may not. She’s very aware of her own box-office flops. She called herself the “common denominator” between those movies, and perhaps Johnny’s flops also worry her. I’m not saying that it’s Amber’s fault AT ALL that Johnny’s films aren’t doing so hot since they got together. He’s responsible for wearing a damn dead bird on his head. He’s the one who starred in an unmarketable film last weekend. I’m simply saying that if I was Amber, I would worry that people would think it was my fault. Because people are awfully mean to her.

I didn’t anticipate writing a Monday morning postmortem of Johnny Depp’s latest movie, Transcendence. I thought the film (despite bad reviews) would easily grab the #1 spot and rustle up $40 million. That didn’t happen, not even with the help of Morgan Freeman. Depp’s movie flopped and opened in fourth place behind Captain America 2, Rio 2, and (a Christian movie that I’d never heard of) Heaven is for Real.
How could this happen? This was the movie that Johnny promoted, um, not at all. Sure, he attended the premieres and did old-school photoshoots with interviews. Maybe Johnny realized this movie was a clunker because he didn’t talk about the film hardly at all. He mostly talked about his mangagement ring and wanting babies with Amber Heard.
Transcendence only pulled in $11 million this weekend (plus another $17 million overseas). Not a problem if this was a cheap indie, but Johnny doesn’t do inexpensive films. This movie was made for $100 million. Johnny got a $20 million payday, and this movie didn’t even clear that much in the US on opening weekend.
Here’s what will happen. People will wonder if Johnny has any clout beyond the Pirates movies. This is his fourth consecutive flop! The Rum Diary, The Lone Ranger, and Dark Shadows all failed to make money. Some of them squeaked past their production budgets, but a movie must pull in 250% of its budget to break even. Johnny gets paid crazy money to do stuff like ride around on a horse (with a dead bird on his head), but it won’t last much longer.
I do still admire Johnny. His older movies showed a vital, unyielding presence, but he’s lost his way. Johnny needs a break. Of course he’ll probably react by threatening to retire again. Just wait.

These are photos of Johnny Depp at the LA premiere of Transcendence. He is dateless — except for Marilyn Manson, who made farty faces on the red carpet. Outlets are noting how Amber Heard doesn’t show up to support Johnny when he makes a huge point of attending her premieres. Relax, it’s fine. Amber couldn’t get out of work. She’s currently filming a movie where she wears a Pink ombre wig and looks like a grunge princess.
As I was writing this story, TMZ broke a weird piece of news about how Johnny was served on the red carpet. He’s been subpoenaed in a criminal case where a limo driver, Nancy Lekon, allegedly ran over a pedestrian in Skid Row. Lekon claimed she was in route to visit her “lover,” Johnny. The PD wants Johnny’s testimony to prove the woman is insane. Strange.
Johnny’s given a new interview to the Mirror. He is still madly in love with his girl, Amber. Johnny’s not couch jumping yet, but he’s close. What he has to say won’t stop those pregnancy rumors anytime soon:
He wants babies: “As far as having more kids, it’s easy for me, and Amber should have the opportunity to have kids if she wants. Let’s face it, practicing for it is fun and it’s all wonderful. I love kids. I have two and they’re perfect. Man, I’d make a hundred.”
On aging: Every day, every year that you get a little bit older, you get a little bit wiser. You realise at a certain point in your life that you are able to dedicate your life to one person. To love that person as you do your children.”
Gushing about Amber: “In many ways I am everything she wouldn’t want to be with and in a lot of ways she’s everything I wouldn’t want to be with, because actors and actresses… it?s not an easy deal. But she has a good perspective on her career and one of the first times I sat down with her I was astonished at how smart she is. There?s a really strong, brilliant woman in there who has a lot to say. She also has the ability to bring up the names of obscure old blues guys like Slim Harpo or Tampa Red and she has a great knowledge of that and country music. She?s a wonderful girl and I am very lucky.”
He & Vanessa are fine: “Vanessa and I get along wonderfully. There’s no weirdness at all, no hostility. Life happens and we spent 14 great years together and raised a couple of kids who we are both incredibly proud of. We see each other all the time and giggle and hang out, just like we always did. She’s a wonderful woman. I love her and she loves me and she?s a great mommy. I have nothing bad to say, ever.”
Amber is “super close” to the kids: “They’re like pals and it’s great. Every day I am more and more proud of my kids. They have turned out so well and are good kids and polite and caring. Jack has always been a very talented draughtsman. He draws really well and also has a good feel for music, but aside from school plays he hasn?t shown any desire to become an actor. Whew! My daughter on the other hand is just a genius. Lily-Rose is interested in the arts and in acting, entertaining and singing as well. And she?s got the goods. She can deliver.”
He can’t text: “It’s such a foreign kind of thing, criss-crossing thumbs and whatnot. I feel ridiculous doing it. I travel with an acoustic guitar and a portable typewriter from about 1940 and that?s how I prefer to write. With that or in longhand and maybe on a sketch pad.”

He’s so quirky with the typewriter thing. I wonder if he uses white-out or just mows right through the typos. The not-texting thing is understandable. If your phone does email, I don’t see the point in texting. But Johnny probably considers texting and email to be equivalent.
Johnny also popped in to visit The Ellen Show on Friday. He says aging his made him “Calmer. You know, more calm. Less…well, not less weirdness, but less rage, maybe. Far less drama.” Less drama, but more scarves.

Handed a court subpoena at a slightly inopportune time, Johnny Depp has been asked to appear in court proceedings revolving around a murder case.
The subpoena was served to Depp at the premiere of his movie, "Transcendence" in Los Angeles, and the case deals with Nancy Lekon, a limo driver who reportedly struck a pedestrian in 2009, dragging the woman on the road for a mile, and killing her in the process.
Charged with murder, Lekon's trial is set to begin this month, and she has reportedly pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, because at the time of the arrest, she told law enforcement that she was on her way to meet up with Johnny, whom she claimed was her boyfriend.
TMZ reported that her public defender now wants Depp to appear in the court proceedings to prove that he never knew, and currently does not know her, thus supporting her plea for insanity.

He?s been plugging his new movie ?Transcendence? all over the place as of late, and Johnny Depp dropped by ? Jimmy Kimmel Live? on Monday (April 7) for some man-on-man action.
During the interview, Kimmel chapped the ?Pirates of the Caribbean? hunk for ditching him in favor of now-fianc Amber Heard.
Jimmy shared, "The last time you were here [in July 2013] we kissed, had some chemistry, and then the next thing I know you are engaged."
Depp repented, "I feel bad about it? but I feel between you and I, it's an anything goes kind of thing? Oh, you're in."
As a consolation, Kimmel declared, "I would love to go on the honeymoon with you," and Johnny promised to ask Heard for permission.
Finally, Mr. Depp gave Jimmy his wish and puckered up for a kiss!

Keeping the promotions going for his latest movie, Johnny Depp made an appearance on Monday night's (April 7) episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
The 50-year-old hunky actor looked dapper when he arrived in white pants and a trendy sweater while eagerly waving to fans who were excited to catch a glimpse of the famous star.
Although Johnny will definitely be dishing on his upcoming film "Transcendence" during his interview, many viewers will also be hoping he continues to open up on his personal life.
During a recent interview with "TODAY," Mr. Depp finally confirmed that he is in fact engaged to Amber Heard and also cleared up the rumor that they are not expecting their first child just yet.

It’s weird how Johnny can change things up in a matter of days. He looked great at the Bejing photocall and went weird again by premiere time. I feel like he spends a lot of time in the mirror, trying to look like he spends no time in front of the mirror. Does that make sense?
Johnny’s back in NYC with Dave. This just happened to be the same episode where Dave announced his retirement. The topic of Amber Heard came up pretty quickly. Johnny mentioned to Dave that people backstage were weeping at Dave’s news. Johnny called Amber his “girl” and describes Amber’s dad as “the closest thing to Hunter S. Thompson that I’ve ever met.” Dave said, “I bet you get a lot of comments” on that mangagement ring. Johnny sheepishly replied, “No, people are scared to comment. Why is a grown man wearing a woman’s engagement ring?” Here’s a clip:
Johnny also pre-taped a Today interview where he talks to Samantha Guthrie about his engagement. He tried to be sly: “Wearing a chick’s engagement ring on my finger, being a fella … as far as you know … because I might be a woman, who knows? I might be. Nobody’s asked that.” Johnny said this about Amber: “She’s a wonderful girl. She’s sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.” He also denied rumors of a shotgun wedding: “What, do you think I’m a savage?” That’s an interesting answer given that he didn’t marry the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny also talked about his childhood “rock star ambitions” and revealed why it’s all about music for him. He also discussed meeting Willie Nelson, whom Johnny calls “the wise man of the mountain.”
