Tom Cruise is a man of leisure at the moment. He can jet off to Florida for a little rest and relaxation, attend Daytona, then take his girls to DisneyWorld to meet Cinderella. His comeback is nearly complete. The only thing that would enhance it would be a magnanimous appearance at the Oscars, even though the Academy failed to nominate him this year for his hilarious appearance in Tropic Thunder (though the Academy recognized Robert Downey Jr.?s comeback).
But Tom Cruise won’t be doing ?presenting? duties at the Oscars. Allegedly, according to OK! Magazine, Cruise and Holmes will not be attending this year?s Oscar ceremony. It could be a fake-out, like when Tom presented in 2002, the year his new ex-wife Nicole Kidman was nominated for Moulin Rouge. Or it could be that the Academy didn?t even ask Tom or his wife (or both) to present.
Perhaps it’s because Valkyrie was a box-office dud or because Mad Money was an even bigger disappointment, but it looks like this year’s Academy Awards ceremony will be TomKat free.
According to a source close to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the Hollywood power couple had been planning on attending the Feb. 22 festivities, despite neither of them getting any love from the Academy.
But then in the last couple days “plans changed,” says the source adding that it’s all a bit of a mystery as to why, since both Tom and Katie are still planning on being in town for the weekend.

Even though I?ve lately been giving into the power of Xenu, I know Tom Cruise?s publicity-seeking ways too well. Even if he?s not attending the Oscar ceremony, he?ll find some way to be apart of the Oscar festivities. Perhaps Tom and Katie plan to party-hop all night? That would be my guess, but maybe Xenu will provide some last-mintue presenting duties so Tom won?t lose face.

Suri Cruise is a princess, in every possible way. Or, at least, she?s always dressed like a princess. Always. One outfit on any given day is most likely more expensive than my entire wardrobe. Now Suri is actually being dressed as a Disney princess - and she gets to meet Cinderella! Cinderella was always one of my favorites of the Disney heroines. I?m so jealous, Suri!
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took little Suri to Disney World, and for the occasion, Suri was decked out in what looks like a special blue ball-gown and bare feet. Of course. The day was part of Tom?s ?romantic? plans for Katie and Suri, which I have to admit, is reallt sweet. I imagine Tom took his girls to Disney World, then let Suri sleep while he and Katie went out to dinner. Seriously, y?all, praise Xenu! The Daily Mail has more:
Being the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most well paid actors certainly has its perks.
And toddler Suri Cruise was enjoying the benefits of it during a family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida.
The two-year-old, who was dressed as a princess for the occasion, looked to be having a magical time as she was treated to a very personal meet and greet with her heroes Mickey and Minnie Mouse while her doting parents Tom Cruise, 46, and Katie Holmes, 30, looked on.
The Cruise family skipped the queues at the theme park and spent time with a number of characters including Cinderella - much to Suri?s delight.
The toddler, who has become something of a fashionista despite her tender years, looked adorable in a blue ball gown and bare feet and was all smiles during the trip which was a Valentines day surprise for her and her mother from film star Tom.
Katie opted for a more casual look for the occasion and was sporting a striped top and jeans.
Before the trip Cruise admitted that he had some special treats up his sleeve for his 30-year-old wife and would provide ‘a lot of surprises for her throughout the day.’
“(I like) doing romantic things, such as bringing flowers and surprising her with things,’ the actor told US magazine.
‘I love candlelit evenings with nice music. I feel lucky to have Kate as my wife. She’s an extraordinary woman. She is funny and smart and she likes the same things that I do.’
He also commented on his daughter’s style icon status and admitted that he is ‘flattered’ that the public have become influenced by her wardrobe.
‘It’s very flattering that people want to copy Suri’s clothes and the way she dresses,’ said Tom - who also has two adopted children, Connor and Bella, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. ‘It does feel strange but you have to kind of go ‘it is what it is. Of course we all think our children are incredible and I feel that way about all three of our kids.’

I?ve never been one of those people who buys into Tom Cruise?s stuff or his ?romance?, but I?m tempted to become a believer. First there was that fun-looking Brazilian vacation, and now he took his girls to Disney World! I don?t want to be married to Tom, but I wouldn?t mind having him as a very generous friend. His comeback is complete! I now feel wistful when looking at pictures of Katie Holmes?s life. That means it all worked.

He’s been a huge fan of race cars since his days on the set of “Days of Thunder,” and yesterday (February 15) Tom Cruise was spotted at the Daytona 500 along with his son Connor.
The “Valkyrie” stud looked to be having a marvelous time with his son as they meandered around Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

10 years ago I never thought I would say this, but I rish wish Tom Cruise would put his shirt back on. There is just something wrong with his stomach, it is actually mystifying me and grossing me out at the same.Maybe it looks so because you know he is holding it in for the paparazzi.

Katie Holmes is still pulling this is-she-or-isn’t she pregnant stuff. Two days ago she was photographed in a breezy, white dress with an obvious-looking bump in the baby area. She was also photographed flat-stomached in a bathing suit. Next came Tom Cruise?s Brazilian Valkyrie premiere, where Katie wore a vintage Christian Lacroix dress with an albeit smaller bump. Is it indigestion? I have no idea. Tom must love the rumors and speculation.
Tom did a press conference while in Brazil, and apparently the power of Xenu was with him. He had the journalists eating out of his hand, according to the Associated Press.
Tom Cruise may sometimes confuse his countries, but he’s winning fans among Brazil’s press corps.
A news conference to promote his movie “Valkyrie” turned into something of a fan club meeting when a journalist said he promised his niece he would get a photo with Cruise. The actor immediately obliged.
That prompted another journalist to squeeze under a barrier for a photo. Guards stopped other reporters from doing the same.

He thanked one questioner with the Spanish “gracias” ? though Brazilians speak Portuguese. And he said he enjoys the tango ? the traditional dance of neighboring Argentina.

Brazil loves Tom Cruise. Good for Tom (and Xenu). Valkyrie is a huge hit overseas, and it?s the number one film in the world this week. According to Reuters UK, the film has made more than $38 million overseas so far, making it a pretty big hit for a Tom Cruise film lacking the words ?mission? or ?impossible? in the title. Could Tom have another reason to celebrate? Perhaps the impregnation of a certain ?amazing? woman?
Note by Celebitchy: I’ve seen enough flat-stomached bathing suit photos to convince me that Katie is not pregnant. I also thought she was pregnant around a year ago, but she has a slouch going to compensate for her shorter partner and she also favors loose clothing.

They’ve been enjoying a beautiful Brazilian vacation as of late, and yesterday Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and their daughter Suri were spotted soaking in the sun.
The “Top Gun” stud looked hunky in a blue polo shirt and blue board shorts while his “Mad Money” wife cut loose in a one-shoulder blue bathing suit with shorts and a bandana, and Suri sported a white dress. Earlier in the day, they enjoyed a helicopter ride.

Tom Cruise is still promoting Valkyrie, adding a little vacation time to his heavy work schedule in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian press tour doesn?t start for him until Tuesday, so he took his girls Katie and Suri to Rio early to do some sunbathing and helicopter riding.
Tom Cruise has arrived in Brazil to promote his latest movie, “Valkyrie.”
Cruise, his wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri arrived Friday night at Rio de Janeiro’s famed Copacabana Palace Hotel.
The Web site of the O Estado de S.Paulo newspaper says Cruise plans to visit several tourist sites in and near Rio before giving a press conference on Tuesday, the day “Valkyrie,” premiers in Brazil.

The pregnancy rumors are still following Katie, though, and she?s not helping. Or perhaps she doesn’t mind because she and Tom like those kinds of rumors. I have no idea, it?s anyone?s guess. Katie has been seen around Rio in loose-fitting clothing, looking, in the words of UK?s Sunday Mirror ?pale but happy?. Could it be first-trimester morning sickness?

The rumors could be dogging Katie because she just finished her Broadway run. As we reported last week, OK! Magazine and other tabloids are all over this, but there is little evidence beyond Katie looking pale, or Tom Cruise putting his hand on her belly in a posed picture. I tend to think they like the pregnancy stories- those rumors are pretty nice compared to most of the other speculation about them.

Depending on your perspective on Tom Cruise?s popularity, his endorsement could go either way. But that hasn?t stopped Tom from declaring his support for Penelope Cruz for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars. Penelope is a in a pretty tight race with Viola Davis and Amy Adams for Catholic-drama Doubt, Taraji Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler). This category is actually up in the air - no one has a really great shot at it, and will most likely be one of the big surprises come Oscar night.
So is it a polite, sweet gesture that Tom Cruise is publicly supporting his ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz? I can?t tell. He was in Spain when he made the comments, and he?s still promoting the hell out of Valkyrie. One thing I?ll give Cruise - he really fulfills his publicity requirements to the fullest.
US star Tom Cruise said Tuesday he hopes Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, a former girlfriend, will win the Oscar for her role in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”.
“It’s fantastic. I am very excited by her second nomination. I hope she wins,” he told reporters in Madrid, where he is promoting his new film “Valkyrie,” when asked about Cruz’s best supporting actress nomination.
Cruz’s family attended the Spanish premiere of the movie, about a plot to kill Adolf Hitler, at Madrid’s Teatro Real on Tuesday, Spanish media reported.
Cruise, 46 and Cruz, 34, met on the set of the 2001 film “Vanilla Sky”.
The couple, who spent long periods apart while filming, broke up at the end of January 2004, Cruise’s sister and publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, said at the time.
In an interview published Saturday in Spanish newspaper El Pais, Cruz said she wants to leave Los Angeles and divide her time between New York and Madrid.
“After a number of years in Los Angeles, I no longer want to live here, It will be better if I share my time between New York and Madrid, where my family is,” she said.
Cruz was nominated for best actress in 2007 for “Volver,” by Spanish director and longtime career mentor Pedro Almodovar.
The 81st annual Academy Awards will be held on February 22 at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.

I have to give Penelope some credit too - she?s never really discussed in detail what happened between her and Cruise. The rumor at the time was that they were having difficulties with the long-distance thing, and she went off with Matthew McConaughey while they were filming Sahara.
Call me an old romantic, and accuse me of buying into Tom Cruise?s career resurgence a little, but I think Tom was really genuine in publicly stating his support for Penelope. And it is sweet, in my book. Praise Xenu!

This week?s OK! Magazine cover story is sort of hilarious. The piece seems entirely based on a photo taken of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes as they exited the Ivy in LA last week. Tom Cruise was photographed - nay, posing - with his hand on Katie?s abdomen, which is apparently how babies are made!
OK! actually bothered to get some other sources besides the patented Xenu-impregnation, hand-on-belly photo evidence. According to OK!?s sources, Katie and Tom would both like to have another baby, which I actually buy. Tom, especially, I think would be happy to have another child, but he genuinely seems content for Katie to make her choices, which I give him credit for. I don?t in any way think that Tom is forcing the idea of another pregnancy down Katie?s throat. See? I?m trying to be nice.
When Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes exited the Ivy restaurant in L.A. on Jan. 21, the smiles on their faces as they glanced at each other said it all: “We’re in love!” But when Tom gently placed his hand over his beautiful wife’s belly and she clasped his hand and held it there, the message was even louder and clearer ? the couple have another baby on the way!
“It was identical to how Tom used to stand with Katie when she was pregnant with Suri,” an eyewitness tells OK!. “And the way they looked at each other! You could see the love in their eyes and there was a feeling that they were sharing something very special at that moment.”
Although Katie’s rep tells OK! she’s not expecting, everyone who knows the pair believes that if she’s not already pregnant, she will be soon.
“Tom would love to have another baby!” a friend of the actor tells OK!. “There’s nothing that gives him more pleasure than his role as a father.”
And, according to a Valkyrie set insider, the couple would be ecstatic if their second baby turned out to be another girl! “Suri has been such a joy for Tom,” the insider says. “As far as he’s concerned, he’d be happy to have another girl. Katie feels the same.”

Another girl? Perchance another Suri doll that they can dress up in beautiful coats? That would be nice. Katie recently finished her Broadway run, and there?s been speculation that Tom and Katie will be moving to London to both try for West End theatre production this spring, but I don?t buy it. Valkyrie and Tropic Thunder were Tom?s comeback roles, and they did pretty well for his image. I suspect he?s going to declare victory and try to regain his action-hero status with some big, splashy movie. But maybe Katie can stay home, barefoot and pregnant.
