Tom Cruise gave a decent interview to Bild (a German publication) about his family. Thankfully, Tom doesn’t act like Suri is his only child, but he does gush about her the most. The full piece (in German) is here, on the Bild site. Once again, I’m trying the Google Chrome translator, and I’m finding it lacking, although People Magazine did their own translating for some of these quotes:
Age is only a number ? especially as far as Tom Cruise is concerned. Last month, the actor turned 48, but the father of three admits to having a secret for staying young.
“I love all my children, but Suri is my fountain of youth,” Cruise tells the German magazine Bild about his 4-year-old daughter with his adoring wife Katie Holmes. “We jump on the trampoline together.”
Cruise ? also dad to Connor, 15, and Isabella, 17 ? said he isn’t afraid to get older. “I’m still better than my kids at basketball,” he said. “One of these days, though, they’ll beat me and I’ll be delighted.”
So what did this man who has everything get for his birthday?
“For as long as I can remember, my mom has given me a roast chicken with green beans. Kate gave me ? The Great Escape [the classic 1963 WWII movie starring Steve McQueen]. The children gave me pictures, homemade videos and photos.”
And that, he said, is the gift that keeps on giving: “We paste everything into books, and when I page through them I am the happiest man in the world.”
Tom on his regrets: “I have no regrets.”
Tom on his personal philosophy: “The most important thing in life is learning! You have to take responsibility for your actions. You can not live with regret.”
On his first thoughts when he wakes up: “Where are the children’s kisses? Where are the hugs?”
On whether Katie Holmes is his “guardian angel”: “She is incredible! Strong, loving, talented, intelligent … Yeah, man! We share all things. She is playing Jackie Kennedy Onassis.”
On money: “Money was never my ambition. The most important things you can not buy. Happiness is only the small moments you share with others and you never forget.”

Honestly, I have no doubt that Tom feels younger because he’s the father of a young, active child like Suri. But I also think Tom’s “fountain of youth” comes via expensive, well-done and gradual nips and tucks here and there over the past few years. I remember about a year ago, Tom reemerged after a couple of months of barely being photographed and suddenly his jawline looked suddenly very tight. I don’t think he’s had his eyes done though - but I could be wrong. I think his surgeon has been working mostly on the lower half of his face. Plus, Tom probably keeps up with all of those advances in lift shoes. His high heels are the real fountain of youth!

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were guests on the very entertaining British car show, Top Gear. I used to watch this show with my husband (we can’t get it where we live now, but we’re going to rent it on Netflix on demand now that I’m reminded!) and it’s surprisingly entertaining for all genders and non-car enthusiasts alike. I’m not a car person at all and I love this show. They pull all sorts of fun stunts that can also be very dangerous, as evidenced by the very serious accident that co-presenter Richard Hammond suffered in 2006. Hammond has since fully recovered after a brain injury and is back on the show.
Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz separately raced a Kia around a track as part of Top Gear’s “reasonably priced car” race event, and I’m not going to post spoilers to the above video in this text because I want you to watch it and see for yourself! There are spoilers in the link to E!’s text quoted below. (The text itself doesn’t contain that spoiler.) I know it’s silly to talk about “spoilers” for a TV show, but if you watch the video you’ll see why I want to keep the suspense going. It’s fun and will brighten up your day:
Well if the movie thing stops working out (and, after the release of Knight and Day, you never know?), at least Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz can fall back on race-car driving.
Cruise and Diaz tore up the track during a joint appearance on the BBC’s Top Gear on Sunday, both zipping through the course in astounding time?with the Mission: Impossible star narrowly averting a potentially dangerous accident.

To promote the U.K. launch of their action flick, the actors got behind the wheel of a Kia for a segment called “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” and attempted to break the course record held by Harry Potter star Rupert Grint.
Diaz, wearing her best game face and dropping her best F-bombs (”some of this is actually broadcastable,” quipped host Jeremy Clarkson), went first and flew around the circuit, just edging Grint’s time.
Then came Cruise, who at the end of his ride drifted off the track and briefly went up on two wheels but managed to bring the car back down without killing himself.

For all you can say about Tom Cruise, he is a really good sport and he kept his composure while on the track. He was so calm when racing around while Cameron was swearing like a trucker! That may have a lot to do with the fact that Tom has extensive experience racing cars, having starred in the 1990 film Days of Thunder.
Knight & Day may not have cleaned up at the box office, but it’s hanging in there. So far it’s grossed $161.78 million worldwide and had a production budget of $117 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Add in the DVD sales and it’s in the black, although it surely didn’t make as much as the studio is hoping for. I’ll probably catch it on DVD. Cruise is not my favorite person, but I can suspend disbelief when I see him on film. He plays crazy so well.
Also, don’t Tom and Cameron seem really cozy with each other? If Cameron was getting touchy feely like that with any other co-star there would definitely be affair rumors.

Making for another full day of European travels, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz kicked off their efforts by attending a press conference in Bordeaux, France on Friday (July 23).
Setting up quite the cozy pitch spot, the "Top Gun" stud and his "Shrek" actress co-star laughed amongst one another as they chatted with a gathered crowd about their new movie, "Knight And Day".
Having hit theaters in the States on June 23rd, the action flick will be invading French cinemas next week on July 28th.
After tending to their press duties, Tom and Cameron headed off to tour the amazing vineyard scenery at the Chateau Smith-Haut-Lafitte in Bordeaux-Martillac.

Continuing along promoting their latest flick, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz attended the UK Film Premiere of ?Knight and Day? on Thursday (July 22).
The ?Top Gun? stud and his ?Sweetest Thing? co-star looked to be having a wonderful time together as they posed for press pictures and mingled with their fans.
Earlier today, the energetic duo showed up for to face each other in a car race at the BBC?s ?Top Gear? event held just outside London, England.
As for Diaz?s driving skills, a source at the track told press, ?She is feisty and certainly drives with gusto. She didn't like having manual transmission, but she had fun with it. A lot of laughing and a lot of cursing, which will have to be bleeped out."

Still promoting their new movie, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were spotted at the Munich, Germany premiere of ?Knight & Day.?
The ?Risky Business? stud and the ?There?s Something About Mary? babe were all smiles as they greeted fans and press at the Gloria movie theatre prior to the screening.
As for the reports that Tom and his wife Katie Holmes are prepping up for a reality show about their family life, it turns out it?s all false.
According to Cruise?s rep, the rumors were ?made up out of thin air,? and there?s no truth to any of them.

Does Xenu approve of reality shows? ?Tis a question for the ages. Various British sources are claiming that Tom Cruise is ?contemplating? a reality show. But it?s a weird story - I think the gist is that it would be more like a short documentary series about Tom and Katie?s life together, with Xenu Suri rather. Tom wants complete control of it, and you know what? Even though this sounds like total bullsh-t, it?s something Tom really should consider. I would totally watch a Tom Cruise reality show, if it focused on his life with the Kate-Bot.
Tom Cruise is reportedly in talks to give the world a glimpse into his life with wife Katie Holmes as part of a TV documentary.
The Hollywood actor has been a regular in the gossip columns ever since he began dating the former Dawson’s Creek star, but the celebrity couple has managed to keep most of the details of their romance private.
Cruise is now said to be considering opening up their marriage by releasing footage he filmed of his wife and their young daughter, Suri, and is in talks with TV bosses about a possible show, according to Britain’s Grazia magazine.
A source tells the publication, “He’s been filming Katie and other aspects of his life for the past month. The original impetus was that he would select a few personal clips to show fans, but word has got out through his agents (CAA) and he is currently fielding offers from entertainment companies. Tom is now deliberating what to do with his footage. No deal has been struck??
“Tom places a premium on control, so he’s reluctant to commit to doing a reality TV show unless he’s 100 per cent certain it will reflect him and Katie in the best light possible… Releasing documentary footage is a way of getting closer to his public.”

My guess is that the closest he?ll ever come to doing something like this is maybe a television documentary, like they did for Madonna or Mick Jagger, with Primetime or whatever, following Tom around for a few weeks and they compile it into a two-hour special. It?s not going to be like, a Martin Bashir extravaganza. I also think that Tom might be contemplating various things to get his career on track, after Knight & Day?s bad domestic box office. Does Tom think that if we get to see him in private, we?ll like him more? That?s an interesting bet. Because the way I imagine Tom and Katie in private - yikes. My idea of it: Katie spends her days popping pills and spending Tom?s money, while Tom has ?extracurricular activities? with various lithe young men - discreetly, of course. I didn?t even think Katie and Tom even spent that much time together anymore?

So it?s no secret that Knight & Day did not do as well as anyone hoped. Xenu did not approve. So Cameron and Tom are stuck doing promotion internationally, although to be fair to Tom, I think he enjoys promoting his films overseas. He?s always done it, and he still has a lot of goodwill left overseas, so more power to him. He and Cameron were in Brazil for a few days this week, and the weirdest thing happened - Tom didn?t do any interviews. At least none I can find. It?s almost like he?s trying to pull a Garbo and be mysterious. Mission accomplished, Xenu. Tom will forever be shrouded in mystery (for me at least) because he truly is a weird man.
Anyway, I just wanted to show the photos of the premiere in Rio de Janeiro. Cameron looked okay in a wrap dress, while Tom busted out his best high heels. Poor Tom. If he knew he was going to have to wear his lifts the whole promo tour, I?m sure he would have gotten a shorter leading lady. Here?s a closeup of his lovely heels:

By the way, I put this in the links the other day, but it?s worth repeating. Tom isn?t the only aging action star on the ropes, and some critics are offering comparisons between Tom and? wait for it? Mel Gibson. Now, I think Tom is crazy, sure. But as far as we know, he?s never hit anyone, he?s never verbally abused anyone, and he?s never threatened rape, arson or general violence on anyone. I don?t believe Tom is that guy, I really don?t. Tom does not deserve these comparisons to Mel Gibson, so just stop it, okay film critics?

Making another stop on their massive promotional tour, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were spotted at the premiere of ?Knight & Day? in Mexico City last night (July 7).
The ?Valkyrie? stud and the ?Sweetest Thing? babe were all smiles as they arrived at Cinemex Santa Fe for the exclusive screening.
In a recent interview, Tom explained that working alongside Cameron was quite enjoyable and something he?d wanted to do for awhile.
?I always wanted to make this kind of movie with Cameron. I was really excited about it because I enjoy her work in action movies. She?s talented, funny, athletic and a great actress, and this was such a winning character, I knew she?d give a winning performance.?

They?ve been taking the world by storm as of late, and Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were spotted in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Tuesday (July 6).
The ?Knight and Day? co-stars attended the premiere of their latest flick, both looking mighty dapper in designer get-ups.
Ms Diaz recently sparked relationship rumors when she was spotted hugging a mystery male. According to New York Daily News, the unknown male was her new beau.
In reality, however, Cameron and the mystery man are just friends who were hanging out with a group of friends and as Gossip Cop says, ?it?s not out of the ordinary for friends to hug.?

Gearing up for the release of ?Knight and Day? tomorrow, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were spotted arriving at ABC Studios this morning (June 22).
The ?Minority Report? actor and the ?There?s Something About Mary? babe were in good spirits as they headed inside to appear on ?Good Morning America.?
Tom looked handsome as he signed autographs and posed for pictures, sporting a white button-up shirt and dark wash jeans, while Cameron opted for a powder blue jacket, white top, and beige shorts.
?Knight and Day? is about an ordinary everyday woman who gets tangled up with a secret agent and all the adventures that come with it.
