I?m sorry to do this to you on a Friday. You?re going to be thinking about these photos all weekend, spiraling into a fit of depression and Eva-loathing, right? I?m sorry. If it helps, just think of it this way: Eva Mendes is our Gosdong-boning avatar. We can live through her experiences. She is a blank slate on which we can project the dream that we too could pull in Ryan Gosling. Does that help? So, obviously, these are new photos of Ryan and Eva out and about in NYC yesterday. I think Ryan has been in NYC for a while, and Eva came in for the Met Gala on Monday night – although she went to the event solo, and some people (me) have been on ?Break-up Watch? since before the Met Gala. But they haven?t broken up. They are together. Not just together – they are loved up to the extreme. Ryan agreeing to a candid photo op with his girl on the streets of NYC? They?re way more serious than I was thinking. Oh, and Eva is talking about Ryan in interviews too:
She attended the annual Met Gala solo this week, increasing speculation of a split with her boyfriend of eight months Ryan Gosling. But Eva Mendes put any and all breakup rumors to rest today as she went on a romantic afternoon stroll with the handsome 31-year-old in New York.
After expertly dodging Gosling questions from Ellen Degeneres earlier this week, the 38-year-old actress slightly opened up about her relationship with USA Today.
‘I’m feeling a little insecure because I can’t help but be super conscious of what I’m saying because I’m so protective,’ Eva said, when asked about Ryan. ‘That’s the most precious thing to me. And I’m so protective and I just felt my guard go up.’
Walking hand-in-hand in a strong show of silent solidarity, the acting couple stopped for coffee and Ryan held a bag of Pan Ya Chinese takeout.
Ryan and Eva met on the set of their movie ‘The Place Beyond The Pines,’ which centers on a motorcycle stunt rider who considers committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child.
‘I play Ryan Gosling’s love interest and his baby mama,’ she said before pausing. ‘There’s the guard going up again a little bit! I’m pushing it down! And through this horrible tragedy, I have to deal with the fact that I now have this child to raise?It basically is this epic family drama that is really beautiful and emotional.’
Eva called Gosling her ‘dream co-star’ in the March issue of Marie Claire: ‘I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film. He?s amazing.’
When Ellen Degeneres gave the Girl in Progress star a ‘double-onesie’ to share with her beau, all Ellen got in return was a fit of giggles from the brunette star.
‘Because he likes [onesies] so much, when you see him – if you see him, if you run into him – I’ve got a gift that I think both of you would have fun [with]. [This could work] as an icebreaker when you meet him for the first time,’ the funnywoman joked.
Finally composed, the stunning star then gave a telling answer that will have the women of the world tutting with disappointment.
She responded cheekily: ‘If I happen to see him tonight, I will give this to him. I’m saying if I run to him – you never know.’

Don?t even bother getting your feathers ruffled about Eva publicly acknowledging (again) her relationship with Gosling. We would hate her if she completely clammed up, and we would hate her if she talked too much about it. She?s finding a balance between being coy and being a famewhore. And apparently, whatever she?s doing is fine with Ryan. In fact, I starting to actually believe they might be for real. That hurt to admit.
PS? Why is Eva still trying to make that fug sweater ?happen?? She was wearing it a few weeks ago in LA too.

A few weeks ago, The Mail claimed that Ryan Gosling was on vacation in South Africa, and that he went on a date with a German model. It was pretty much a balls-out fabricated story – Ryan hadn?t left Thailand, where he?s filming a movie, and by all accounts, he?s not fooling around on his girlfriend Eva Mendes. Eva?s rep even went around denying The Mail?s story, making sure that everyone knew that Ryan and Eva were still entwined. LaineyGossip keeps saying that Eva has been in Thailand for most of Ryan?s film shoot too – and I think she?s right. There haven?t been any photos of Eva at LAX lately, so I don?t think she?s been coming and going from Thailand. I think she flew to Thailand weeks ago, and she?s just camping out with her man.
Here?s what?s up for debate, however: just what is the deal with Ryan and Eva? Why this need to establish themselves as a couple? Is it true love, is it hot sex, or is it something else? Something sketchy involving Ryan needing to look like he can settle down with a woman for a substantial relationship, and Eva simply needing publicity? I don?t know. But here?s another theory, via In Touch Weekly, about why Eva is in Thailand:
Eva Mendes wants to hold onto Ryan Gosling so badly, a source says she?s chasing him to Thailand, where he?s filming a movie with beauty Yayaying.
?She?s insanely jealous.? And who can blame her? Ryan has a history of hooking up with costars, and Eva isn?t letting it happen again.

I could buy this. Ryan doesn?t seem like the kind of guy who is capable of staying focused on a girl if she?s not sitting right in front of him. And Eva probably is jealous, and keeping a watchful eye on her prize. I?m still not sure that Eva?s publicity team hasn?t been pushing all of these tabloid stories from the start too.
Oh, and Ted Casablanca now buys that Eva and Ryan are getting serious because they?ve kept it so low-key the past few months after the Disneyland-date-and-Paris-photo-op explosion at the beginning of their relationship. I’m still really skeptical.

Suiting up for an overseas red carpet appearance, Ryan Gosling attended the Hua Hin International Film Festival Opening Ceremony in Hua Hin, Thailand on Friday night (January 27).
The "Ides of March" actor took to the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort venue while greeting fans as he joined alongside Dr Sorajak, General Seceretary of The National Federation of Thai Film Associations, Khun Suwat Liptapanlop, Festival Chairman, Director Nicolas Winding Refn, Liv Corfixen and Khun Jareuk Kaljareuk, Festival Director.
As for the reason behind agreeing to the Thai trip, reports tell that Gosling is once again teaming up with "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn on a film set in the Asian locale titled "Only God Forgives".
According to IMDB, the motion picture tells the story of ?a Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster who settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match.?

Why do I keep forgetting that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are a couple? We have all of these convenient photos of them together, taken conveniently during their Thanksgiving holiday in Paris, and they?re conveniently starring together in an as-yet-unreleased film. Why do I keep forgetting that? Maybe it?s because Ryan has been single or single-ish for so long, and I?ve got the mindset that he?ll be taking his latest piece to Disneyland any moment now? Maybe it?s because I think Ryan isn?t so much ?in love? with Eva, but he just realized that his Disneyland whore parade probably wasn?t keeping his female fan base happy? Or is Eva the one pushing this relationship? That?s what Star Mag would have us believe – they claim that Eva is totally into Gosling and he?s all ?meh.?
On the menu for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes: plenty of PDA! Golsing, 31, and Eva, 37, were simply sizzling during a dinner date at the Beverly Hills Hotel?s Polo Lounge on Dec. 2.
?They were making out during their meal and also outside the eatery,? an observor tells Star. The passionate evening follows a lovey-dovey late-November trip to Paris. But since they?ve only been dating since September, is it all too much, too soon – for Ryan at least?
?Eva was more touchy and affectionate than Ryan,? says the observor. ?He looks into her, but she seems even more into him.?

Sure, I?ll buy that. I think Ryan plays at the wide-eyed puppy-love stuff, but he?s probably not all that affectionate and romantic when it comes down to it. Anyway, In Touch has a story about Ryan and Eva too – apparently, Ryan?s friends don?t care for Eva, and they all hope he?ll get back with Rachel McAdams. Code Red: Ryan Gosling?s friends are all chicks who have seen The Notebook too many times.
Ryan Gosling sure seems happy with new love Eva Mendes, but it looks like his buddies aren?t quite as overjoyed. A friend tells In Touch that Ryan?s pals haven?t warmed up to Eva and hope he will rekindle his romance with Rachel McAdams, whome he dated for more than three years before they split in 2008.
They like Rachel a lot more – she was as close to Ryan?s friends as she was to Ryan himself.
?She?s fun and a fellow Canadian,? the pal says.

Yeah, I guess I?m one of the few people that actually LIKES Michael Sheen and Rachel McAdams together. I hope Rachel and Michael are solid, and I hope they get married some day soon. They seem like a ?real? couple – she?s pretty and family-oriented, he?s intelligent and eccentric and talented. Sorry, Notebook-fiends, but I prefer Rachel with Michael. Here are some more photos of Ryan Gosling on the set of Gangster Squad to update from the last batch. He’s a pretty handsome guy, and I can definitely see what all the fuss is about even if he doesn’t really float my boat. I think it goes back not so much to watching him on “Mickey Mouse Club” (because I didn’t really watch much Disney in my own youth) but more of memories from his stint on “Breaker High.” To me, he still looks like the same young pseudo punk, and there’s still too much “eau de faking it” to be found in Gosling’s demeanor. Sure, he’s a fine actor and looks great in motion, but I can’t help but feel uneasy when checking out these freeze frame shots like he’s trying to pull a fast one on the entirety of the world:
Maybe it’s just me though or perhaps it’s the whole nice guy who does ballet and just wants to find The One while he simultaneously tries to hide his DUI past and lets his bad dog pee in the corner at yoga class routine. It just bugs, you know? Here’s more of Ryan with co-star Josh Brolin, who is a legitimate badass (not necesarily a good thing in real life either) and looks completely natural in these shots:
At the moment, however, Ryan is promoting something besides Gangster Squad, which is still filming. Maybe he’s kickstarting his own personal Oscar campaign or thinking of dumping Eva Mendes and taking some other chick to Disneyland. No telling what he’s up to really, but Ryan has dredged up his 2004 turn in The Notebook (the adaptation of yet another schmaltzy Nicholas Sparks novel). Ryan wants us all to know that he wasn’t cast for his good looks; on the contrary, he asserts that the role arrived courtesy of his “regular guy” nature and the fact that he is neither “handsome” or “cool.” Um, okay:
Millions of women and men would disagree with director Nick Cassavetes — who cast a then-unknown Ryan Gosling in The Notebook because, well, he wasn’t that cute.
Now one of the most sought-after hunks in Hollywood, the Drive actor, 31, was just a Mickey Mouse Club alum and indie movie actor when Cassavetes was casting for his now-beloved 2004 romantic film.
“The director, Nick Cassavetes, called me to meet him at his house,” Gosling tells British magazine Company. “When I got there, he was standing in his back yard, and he looked at me and said, ‘I want you to play this role because you’re not like the other young actors out there in Hollywood. You’re not handsome. you’re not cool, you’re just a regular guy who looks a bit nuts.’”
Gosling went on to star in the smash film opposite fellow Canadian Rachel McAdams — whom he dated and was briefly engaged to.
And despite his leading man status today, Gosling tells the mag he grew up a “lonely child. I didn’t do well at school and TV was my only friend.”
It was watching the small screen that inspired him to go Hollywood himself. “Then, one day, I saw Raquel Welch on The Muppet Show. She was dancing with this big furry spider and I immediately fell in love. She was the first crush I ever had, and I thought, ‘How do I get to meet this woman?’ And then I thought, ‘Well, she’s on TV, so to meet her I have to get on TV myself.’”

So basically, Ryan is pushing the image of being a lonely child and an ugly duckling that was pushed out of his shell after becoming enraptured with the likes of Raquel Welch, who is completely gorgeous and a very glamorous sex symbol in her own right. Yet she’s not the typical crush for a budding young actor, right? Hmm.

Over the holidays, we (and everyone else) had photos of Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling, looking and acting loved up all over Paris. Well? maybe not so much. Their physical chemistry seemed totally ?off? – it could have been because both Eva and Ryan were very aware of the paparazzi. Or it could be that Ryan and Eva aren?t so much ?loved up? as ?in some kind of contractual fauxmance.? Here?s what I believe: I believe that Gosling is a much bigger dog than most girls like to acknowledge. I believe that Eva has issues, of the substance abuse variety, and of the ?all she has to offer is a sexy body without much talent? variety. I don?t know what you get when you put that all together, but I?m sure it?s not ?love?. Still, someone is trying to sell us a great romance. According to In Touch, Ryan thinks Eva is ?The One?. Srsly?
While in Paris, ?Ryan held her close, and kept leaning in to kiss her,? an onlooker tells In Touch of the affectionate couple, who spent the Thanksgiving holiday touring Paris. ?He looked so happy and so in love.?
According to a friend, Ryan is so smitten with his co-star Eva, he?s boasting to pals that he?s found ?The One.?
?Ryan is telling everyone that he?s very serious about Eva,? the friend says. ?He is head-over-heels and plans to settle down with her.?
What?s the rush? Another pal explains: ?Ryan doesn?t take dating lightly. He falls in love very deeply.?
But while most girls would be all too eager to rush down the aisle with the world?s hottest bachelor, Eva, who recently split from filmmaker George Augusto after nine years, isn?t exactly on the same page as her beau.

I?m working on a theory (in my gossip laboratory) that involves Gosling realizing that being ?attached? to so many ladies within the span of a year probably wasn?t good for business. After all, he has his Notebook-level heartthrob status to maintain, and he?s still got to work on getting more women to see more of his films. So why not take a half a year off from shuffling his latest pieces to Disneyland, and just settle down with one girl – ANY girl – for six months or so? Is it okay if I forgot that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were together? It just slipped my mind. To be fair, there hasn?t been much gossip about them in the past month and a half. Ryan and Eva got together in September, when they were working together on some film. Ryan took Eva to Disneyland, which is how we knew that they were bangin? (he takes EVERY hookup to Disneyland). Later, there were some tabloid reports that Ryan was actually serious about Eva, and that it wasn?t just a quickie wham-bam-Disneyland adventure. Now things are looking even more serious – these are photos of Eva and Ryan in Paris during the long Thanksgiving holiday. Eva is filming in Paris, and Ryan came to visit her, and they went on a romantic/gothic stroll in a cemetery.
Ryan Gosling sure knows how to make a girl feel special! The 31-year-old actor surprised love of two months Eva Mendes on the set of Holly Motors in Paris, France Friday, two insiders confirm to Us Weekly.
“Ryan flew out to be with Eva as soon as she wrapped Holly Motors,” one source says. “The film was a fairly small production and Eva was good about being focused and without many distractions on set.”
A second insider adds that Mendes, 37, “was totally shocked” when Gosling showed up unannounced.
“They were talking all the time so she had no hints that he was coming,” the second insider tells Us. “She was really homesick and missed him, even though she practically just left to shoot!”
The following day, the paramours snuck in a few kisses while strolling arm-in-arm through Pere Lachaise cemetery. The Beyond the Pines costars first began dating in September.
Gosling’s exes include Rachel McAdams, Sandra Bullock and Kirsten Dunst. Mendes quietly ended her long-term relationship with producer George Gargurevich over the summer.

So? they?re really together, aren?t they? And they?ve been together for three months now, at least. Well, part of me is glad to see that Ryan is still capable of having a three-month long relationship with a woman. I was starting to think that The Gosdong was like a more boyish version of Gerard Butler – both men seemed to have a constant stream of hookups that never went anywhere, but Gerard just takes ladies back to his hotel room, where Ryan takes them to Disneyland. Anyway, Ryan in a relationship with Eva Mendes? I?m still not seeing the relationship potential, and they don?t really make me hot as a couple. She always seems so drunk and so full of herself, and Ryan seems so ?sensitive?. Meh.

Taking their love to one of the most romantic places on Earth, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes looked ever the cozy couple in Paris, France this weekend (November 26).
The 31-year-old Canadian actor held his 37-year-old actress girlfriend closely as the pair spent a little quality time together at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
The couple's outing comes as Gosling happens to be paying Mendes a visits while she's filming her new movie "Holly Motors" in the French capital city.
"Holly Motors" is an upcoming film written and directed by Leos Carax while starring Denis Lavant as a man who travels between multiple parallel lives.

I have the feeling that there will be little interest in this story, but I find it hysterical and couldn’t resist. It dovetails nicely with Kaiser’s story about Gerard Butler’s pampered dog, too, because here’s another Hollywood player treating his dog nicer than the women he dates. (I didn’t do this story to copy Kaiser or anything, we just coincidentally have two dog stories today. Great minds!)
So Ryan Gosling has this big dog, George, that he adores and has been seen carrying around. He even brought his dog with him on the Jimmy Fallon show, where George was sporting a mohawk. (Really, you can see that here.) Ryan loves his dog so much that he’s brought him with him to yoga class. George of course disrupted everyone while they were trying to work out, probably by sniffing their butts when they were in the downward dog position. (yuck yuck!) Then George meandered over and peed in the corner, causing the instructor to order him out of the room. Ryan had the gall to bring bring George back another day to class though, where George was promptly banned. Bad dog!
Ryan Gosling… has been causing a ruckus in his West Hollywood yoga class by bringing along his beloved pooch George - who interrupts workouts by pestering people, barking and even marking his territory!
“Ryan is a great guy and everyone in class loves him, but they find it very disrespectful that he brings his dog,” revealed a gym insider. “Ryan put a mat next to him and attempted to get George to stay on it. But it only took about 30 seconds before George began walking around and disturbing people who were trying to concentrate on their workouts.
“The instructor finally asked Ryan to remove George from the room after the dog began relieving himself in the corner!”…
The worst part about the yoga fiasco, said the insider, is that…
“He actually tried to bring him to class again,” added the insider. “The instructor immediately told him George was not allowed back in class!”

I just love the image this puts in my head. It’s so absurd to bring a big dog to yoga class and for that dog to bug everyone and then go pee in the corner. It’s like a predictable scene from a romcom that still cracks you the hell up. I told my seven year old this story and we were laughing our asses off at it. If I were in that yoga class, though, I would be pissed off. Hopefully I wouldn’t be pissed on though. (Sorry I couldn’t resist!)

Ever since we heard that Ryan Gosling took Eva Mendes to his special place - his pants AND Disneyland - I?ve sort of been ignoring them as a couple. From what I can see, they are still together and they?re keeping it pretty low-key. Some of you think the pairing is hot - I don?t. I mean, I definitely understand how Ryan Gosling + ANYBODY is going to be hot, and yes, I understand how Eva has sex appeal and she has a bangin? body. But she also has permanent drunk-face and I have concerns that she actually IS drunk most of the time. Plus, at the end of the day, what do Ryan and Eva have to talk about? How much difficulty she has with everyone always telling her that she?s sexy? That?s all she ever talks about in interviews.
Anyway, In Touch had a nice little story about Eva and Ryan? apparently, he?s a Feeder. Sigh? he really is the perfect man.
Shakespeare claimed music was the food of love, but Ryan Gosling isn?t taking any chances. The Drive actor has gifted his new love, Eva Mendes, 37, with free food - for life - in the form of a VIP card for Tagine, the Moroccan restaurant that he co-owns.
?Eva and Ryan are both foodies, so he surprised her with the unlimited gift certificate,? a friend of the actor tells In Touch.
