Hard at work on his new project, Ryan Gosling was spotted on the set of ?Gangster Squad? in Los Angeles today (September 29).
The ?Lars and the Real Girl? star looked dapper as he filmed a night scene with costar Josh Brolin, sporting a vintage suit and matching fedora.
And it sounds like Ryan made quite an impression on George Clooney while filming ?The Ides of March.?
George told press, ?The highlight of the film is watching Ryan Gosling?s work from beginning to end. He?s a wonderful actor. He was the only guy I could get really. And he?s cheap! He?s got nothing to do. He was unemployed.?
?He?s just one of the best in the business, truly. And he?s 30 years old - 25, or 15? Whatever he is, he?s just unbelievably talented.?

Offering a first look at what's lined up to be a blockbuster motion picture, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling teamed up on the set of "Gangster Squad" in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday (September 20).
The "Drive" hunk and his "Spider-Man" actress co-star were in full costume while running through scenes shot at Griffith Observatory - during which time Gosling wrapped his arm around Stone as the pair walked along with an English Bulldog by their side.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the crime/drama caper is described as "a chronicle of the LAPD's fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s."
Due out in 2013, "Gangster Squad" boasts an illustrious cast along with Ryan and Emma including Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Pena and Josh Pence.

These are some new photos of Ryan Gosling hard at work on The Gangster Squad, a period film which has Gosling dressing up like an extra from Chinatown. The period costume works on him, though - it always does. Some men can just pull it off. Anyway, last week, Ryan had a new interview which has already caused some people to declare him The Anti-Brad Pitt. As in, Gosling says really nice things about his exes while Brad will cryptically declare that his life with previous partners was totally dull. Of course, Brad Pitt gets points for not taking every chick he knows to Disneyland. And personally, I think Gosling is more of a Gerard Butler-type than an anti-Brad Pitt.
Ryan Gosling may be the object of many fans’ affections, but when it comes to his own personal life, he shares that he’s only had two true loves: Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams.
“I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time. I haven’t met anybody who could top them,” the 30-year-old star told UK-based newspaper The Times, about Bullock (who he dated from 2002-2003) and McAdams (who he dated from 2004-2008).
The Drive actor claims that Hollywood is to blame for the end of his relationships.
“Showbusiness is the bad guy. When both people are in show business it’s too much showbusiness. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow,” the actor, who has also been tied to actresses Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde and Kat Dennings, said.
But it seems one possible relationship seed has been planted: Gosling, 30, was spotted on a private tour of Disneyland, hand-in-hand with Eva Mendes, 37. The pair walked through the magical theme park, stealing kisses from each other and showing major PDA.
Gosling did confirm to The Times that he is in one committed relationship: film. “I’m giving as much to it as a marriage,” he said. I’d like to be making babies but I’m not, so I’m making movies. When someone comes along I don’t think I’ll be able to do both and I’m fine with that. I’ll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen.”
The blonde heartthrob-turned-good-Samaritan grabbed the hearts of millions when he recently broke up an NYC fist fight between two men and sent a letter on behalf of PETA, standing up to slaughterhouses.

Part of me likes Gosling?s direct and thoughtful answers, and that he?s willing to talk about making his career a priority, like he would a marriage or fatherhood. Part of me thinks that Gosling is too try-hard and immature, though. I don?t know? the Disneyland thing has thrown me for a loop, and in the past year, it seems like Gosling really is just dating, screwing and then dumping/ignoring every single girl he meets. It?s a disturbingly Gerard Butler-like pattern. I?m not saying that Gosling should just settle down for the hell of it or anything, I?m just pointing out that he?s trying to have his nice-guy cake and eat it too. Gosling gets as much ?strange? as Gerard Butler, but Butler doesn?t play this ?I?m just a nice guy and I want babies? game. Gosling gets the best of both worlds - he gets to screw around and date beautiful women and then dump them, and he gets to keep his reputation as the nice guy who is just looking for something meaningful and true. Gerard is just a slut, and he doesn?t care who knows. Plus, Gerard doesn?t take every date to Disneyworld. Team Butler. Wait, what was I saying?

In a scene that looked to mirror their current on-screen roles, co-stars Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were spotted getting cozy off the set of their upcoming film "The Place Beyond the Pines" over the weekend.
Taking their rumored romance to the most magical place on Earth, the pair - whose snuggly snapshots were obtained by Us Weekly - were seen holding hands and cuddling up while on their visit to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
?They were very playful. Eva was skipping around like a little girl ? She would lean into him and she held his arm the entire time," one onlooker told the mag of the two, who were said to have hopped on the "Toy Story ride, the California Screamin? roller coaster, the Little Mermaid adventure and the ferris wheel" during their trip to the park
Another source says the alleged relationship comes as no surprise, as they explained, ?There?s always been this strong chemistry between them?this was just a matter of time!?

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been working together on A Place Beyond The Pines, which, I believe, is the same movie where Ryan had to bleach the hell out of his hair. Eva plays Ryan?s girlfriend in the movie. And now he?s boning her. It must be, because according to Lainey?s sources, Ryan took Eva to Disneyland.
I posted an article on August 19 that included photos of Ryan Gosling on set with Eva Mendes, positing that they seemed so hot together, I?d totally be down if they hooked up. Mickey Mouse was listening.
OF COURSE he took her to Disneyland. He takes them ALL to Disneyland. They were there together on Saturday. He had his hand on the small of her back whenever they?d be entering a gate and at one point she had her hand lightly on his ass while they were waiting for a pick up. Am told by several people who saw them that they seemed very comfortable together. And that he would lean over frequently and say sh-t to her, like super closetalking in her ear, in a way that implied there was some intimacy between them. God I hope so. God I hope to see it myself one day. And if it sounds perverted, that?s because it is.
Anyway, am told they left in the same ride.
Will he bring her to TIFF? It?s not really his style. He?ll probably come with his mother and sister, the usual dates. But if he and Eva are a thing right now, I want to see it soon. Because something this hot, and they are super f-cking hot, you worry that it?ll blaze out before long.

Yeah? I don?t like them together. I worry about Ryan and his Year of Random Biscuits. He seems to be going out with everybody this year (Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively, Kat Dennings, maybe even Emma Stone). And it never lasts very long and he always takes them to Disneyland. It?s a turnoff (for me). I mean, I get that he?s young and unattached and he likes girls and he?s going to date some high-profile ladies. But it still feels like he?s ?pulling a Butler.? Meaning that Ryan?s becoming kind of a man-whore. And the Disneyland thing is just kind of weird. Take a girl out to dinner. Take me to the movies. Let?s go for a walk or something. Don?t make me wait in line with screaming children.
Plus, I?ve never really ?gotten? the Eva Mendes thing. She?s kind of crazy, and she has permanent Drunk-Face.

Making a pit-stop to grab a few household necessities, Ryan Gosling was spotted as he ventured into a Los Angeles, California 7-Eleven store earlier today (September 1).
The "Crazy, Stupid, Love" actor looked to be a bit disheveled as he tended to his errand, wearing a tattered green t-shirt, blue sweatpants and a pair of black sneakers while purchasing a gallon of milk.
While Ryan's political thriller "Ides of March" opened the Venice Film Festival yesterday, Yahoo has offered up the first non-trailer glimpse of the movie outside its overseas debut.
In the clip, Gosling's character, presidential campaigner Stephen Myers, forgets who his intern Molly (Evan Rachel Wood) is before making flirtatious plans for a night out.

When a fight broke out in the middle of a crosswalk in New York over a painting some time last week, a dork with an umbrella and Birkenstocks stood there pointing at the two men fighting in an effort to stop the melee using only the power of his mind. It didn’t work.
That’s when smooth talker Ryan Gosling sashayed in wearing a striped beater and capris, defusing the situation with only his beauty and angelic voice. “Eeeeeeee,” they squealed to themselves as Ryan lay his calming hands on them.

Ryan Gosling graces the cover of the September issue of Esquire. In the accompanying interview, he takes journalist Tom Chiarella on a road trip to Coney Island, tells him ghost stories and enthuses about his love of candy. Chiarella is the same author who was dismissive and judgmental in profiles of Brooklyn Decker and Matthew McConaughey. Esquire has a history of writing critical pieces on celebrities, with other journalists portraying Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper negatively when their actions and words didn’t seem to warrant it. (We should talk, right?)
In this Gosling story, Chiarella is more generous to his subject and Gosling comes across as a genuinely nice guy, if a bit eccentric. Gosling is recognized constantly during their outing and he’s game for taking pictures with fans. Not one person knows his actual name though, just that he’s a movie star and looks familiar. Even when people call him Paul Bettany or Ryan Reynolds, Gosling just rolls with it and grants signatures and photos. Here are some highlights from the article, which is worth reading just to imagine walking around and shooting the sh*t with Gosling. He sounds exhausting, but I would love to eat some candy with him.
Gosling loves candy
Five stops at bodegas, and one at this 7-Eleven, and in each case Ryan Gosling sniffs out the florid Japanese gelatin as if he lived on the block, as if he shopped there every damned day. Its very presence seems to comfort him. “This is the stuff,” he says, in aisle two of four. Then he piles them on the countertop. Kazoozles atop Nerds Ropes, twin packs of Hi-Chews, green apple and grape. He also feels strongly about Haribos, especially the multiflavored bag. “I like to call this the next level of candy,” he says, with a thready graveness in his voice, either mocking seriousness or giving, in fact, a serious mocking. Over and over again, he uses his eyes to say: Are you with me? More enthusiasm, even as he goes on. “Hi-Chews! Look at these! It’s the candy that never quits on you. This candy is always worth the price. There used to be a candy called Bonkers, which I believe to be the greatest candy of all time.” He pours coffee for both of us, with as much sugar as he can get in, and turns to the register before he continues. A girl stands at one end of the aisle, holding her phone up for a photo of him unaware. “For some reason, they discontinued Bonkers. These are good, you’ll see,” he says, holding up the Hi-Chews. Then he hands me my coffee and says with a smile, “Sugar till you die.”
Everyone recognizes Gosling, but no one knows his name
The girl moves the camera from in front of her face. “Can I take a picture of you?” she asks.
Gosling finishes his thought: “But that fact alone doesn’t really justify the end of Bonkers.” Then he turns back to the girl, who gropes for his name and hands me her camera. Gosling stands with his arm around her. “I know your name,” she says, tilting her head in defeat. “I really do.”
Gosling turns back to me. “Sometimes I think that the one thing I love most about being an adult is the right to buy candy whenever and wherever I want,” he says. Then he asks the girl, “Which way to Coney Island?”
Her hand drops to her side, and she smiles and says, “Oh, I know! You’re Paul Bettany.”…
At Coney ? and that’s what they call it, the kids who work there, sixteen-, seventeen-, eighteen-year-old black kids in matching polo shirts and cheap baseball hats, working their summers, leaning into long nights in sight of the ocean, nagging out time until school starts again ? just plain Coney, as in “You! What you doing at Coney? You. I know you. Who are you? Let me think. Damn. Tariq, who is he? I know you, right? You a movie star, right? I just can’t. What movie you in? Damn. What is your name? Why you at Coney all the sudden?”
Through all this, Gosling smiles and nods. He’s got some bits, some automatic responses: I just have one of those faces, or People say that all the time. But he never says his name, never gives it away. Not that he’s being difficult. He seems to enjoy passing through this world as a vaguer representation of himself. But he’s not diffident or deceptive. He signs autographs freely, doles out hugs, poses for more phone photos in one visit to the amusement park than most people do in a year. He’s affable about being recognized but not named. He really does have one of those faces. “It’s like being in a dream. You don’t know anybody, but everybody knows you, everybody reacts to you. You can be walking along in a dream, through a pretty normal world, and then bam, everything seems to be a response to your presence. Everything seems to be driven by you. And that’s notable at first, and you deal with it. And then ? and it happens every time ? you become aware it’s a dream. Right about then, when you think you have it figured, and that acknowledging that will make it easier, it inevitably becomes a nightmare.”
This thing, this event at Coney, is nowhere near that stage. These kids are giving him plenty of room, killing time chatting it up with the movie star they can’t name. Mention of Blue Valentine does them no good. Half Nelson? The Believer? None of that works. The best hint involves one little finger tap on the spiral ring of a sketchpad, to a kid begging for a hint. “Notebook? What’s that mean? Notebook. What’s … notebook! Notebook! I know him. He’s from The Notebook!”
Everyone knows The Notebook. Every teenager on the midway has seen it, a movie that is half as old now as they are, a gauzy fable about the fated love of two white people in North Carolina sixty-five years ago. They all tell him, too: “That’s a good movie.”
Tariq comes over from his position at the Whac-A-Mole stand, takes a long look at Gosling, and says, “That’s Ryan Reynolds.”…
“I think I was always bound to become two selves, if I wasn’t already,” he says. “Now there’s this me, this public me, and I know that I have become two people. This is what I told the photographer before he took those photographs. Even my own name sounds like just someone I know.”

We can’t really feature the photos from the interview, as they involve a nude model painted over to look like a skeleton. Ryan is seen clutching her while another Ryan looks on. The article notes that Ryan collaborated on the photos, which seem to be some kind of commentary on his relationship with fame, as if it’s a fickle mistress and he feels like an observer of his own, scary life. He also has skeletons all over his apartment, he tells the interviewer, so he seems to be fascinated by them.
It’s hard to believe that Gosling pops candy like that when he remains so buff, but it’s better than drinking I guess. He’s an interesting guy, and it won’t be long before everyone everywhere knows his name. Will that be more of a nightmare for him?

He certainly is committed to his career, and Ryan Gosling recently went bleach blond for his next movie.
The ?Crazy, Stupid, Love? hottie was spotted riding a dirt bike in upstate New York on Wednesday (July 27) with his newly colored locks.
The dramatic change is only temporary though as it is for his role as Luke in the upcoming ?The Place Beyond the Pines.?
Aside from that movie, Ryan?s got a plethora of other films in the pipeline for 2012 and 2013.

Oooh, George Clooney released the trailer for The Ides of March! Yay! We talked about this film yesterday, when Clooney began giving interviews about the political and moral storyline. I thought this film was going to a different story - in my mind, Clooney?s presidential candidate has some kind of problem or scandal, and when Gosling?s character finds out about it, he becomes weepy and disillusioned. From the trailer, I don?t think that?s what happened, but I?m not sure. Thankfully, the trailer doesn?t give away the entire plot, and I?m sitting here mystified regarding what actually goes down. It?s been a while since I?ve seen a trailer where I didn?t feel like everything was given away.
See? All I know is that Gosling looks hot and my love for Phillip Seymour Hoffman is unending and unyielding. Damn, PSH looks good too, doesn?t he? Yes, he?s a big man. But he?s also sexy as hell with that strawberry blonde hair and that voice. Out of all of the dudes in this film, PSH is the one I?d really want to go to bed with. Here?s another thing too - out of the whole cast, PSH is the one I see getting an Oscar nomination. Yeah, Hollywood loves Clooney and Gosling, but they kiss the ground PSH walks on (for good reason).
As for the politics? eh. I like Clooney, and I like that he tries to make the kind of good old-fashioned political films like the ones he grew up in the 1970s, but that?s also the problem: they feel dated. This feels dated to me. We?ll see what goes down.
