Did you know that Ryan Gosling owns his own restaurant (called Tagine) in Beverly Hills? I was not aware of this fact, but I’m not really one of the “hey girls” even though I do consider Gosling to be one of the most versatile and talented actors of his generation. His work is generally pretty good, but he seems rather pretentious as a person. Those who do love him have been known to travel far and wide to drop a signficant chunk of change at his restaurant in the hopes that he might show up on the scene.
Yet many hopeful Tagine diners have subsequently taken to food review sites like Yelp to proclaim, “Eh that’s alright,” while lamenting the price tag that arrives with a celebrity owner who never bothers to show up and check on his investment. While it’s true that Gosling has a “real” job and can’t possibly spend all of his time hanging out at his place, his staff readily hands out the “Ryan Gosling might come” line when booking reservations. It does seems like a slightly insincere practice, right? Here’s the details from disgruntled “hey girls” via the Toronto Sun:
Although a little Ryan Gosling rolled up in a spicy pita bread would surely taste yummy, the Canadian actor is reportedly slipping off the menu at the Beverly Hills restaurant he co-owns called Tagine. The 32-year-old actor seems to have basically vanished from the Moroccan restaurant he’s been listed as co-owner of since about 2008 and apparently hasn’t been there in months. Gosling bought the eatery — and even renovated it by hand — during the middle an existential crisis period between 2007 and 2010 in which he stopped acting.
According to Gosling, he liked chilling in the smoky, exotic atmosphere and eating the delicious dishes created by chef Abdessamad “Ben” Benameur so much, he became an investor. But perhaps like his band, Dead Man’s Bones, the restaurant was just a passing fancy.
The reported absence of Gosling is, of course, is a big disappointment to fans who pay about $100 per person (with wine) to dine at Tagine. “It’s still always all over the Internet that Ryan Gosling is here since he owns it, so we came and thought we’d get to see him,” reports Mary Giaimo, a Vancouver resident who was visiting the city with her daughter and ate at Tagine in hopes of spotting the heartthrob. “But we got to talking with the waiter and he told us Ryan hasn’t been around in months.”
On Yelp, those who have tried Tagine inevitably invoke “Ryan” as the reason they tried it in the first place. Wrote reviewer Ki D: “Ryan knows how to do many things well …. his apparent qualities brought me here in curiosity of experiencing his point of view in dining. Sadly, it turned out to be a disappointment.”
Let’s remember that Gosling did not become a huge global sensation until his 2010-2011 period when he starred in Blue Valentine; All Good Things; Crazy, Stupid, Love; Drive and Ides of March. He gave up acting in 2007, partly because he was fired from the set of The Lovely Bones for being 60 pounds overweight.
It’s fortunate for moviegoers that Gosling got his acting mojo back. Since 2010, he’s been an acting machine, traveling the world, filming hit movie after hit movie. Not so lucky for visitors to Tagine, who may be enticed by the restaurant’s website links that feature articles such as “Ryan Gosling’s Restaurant Shines in the Spotlight.”
QMI called Tagine this week to ask if the Notebook star — at this minute filming yet another flick thousands of kilometers away in Austin, Texas with co-stars Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender — might be around this weekend if we made a reservation.
Said the man taking reservations, “Ryan is the owner of the restaurant, so he could come by any time. I can seat you at 9:00. Ryan Gosling might come. But he might not. We never know.”

For $100 per head, something tells me that Ryan would do well to stop by about once per month to keep things hopping, or this restaurant could go the way of most eateries (the figures are murky, but it’s certain that somewhere between 60-90% of dine-in restaurants close their doors within a few years of opening). Clearly, Ryan’s overpriced hole-in-the-wall has lasted longer than average, but if his “hey girls” continue to feel disgruntled, he can forget their support.

You know what? I still can?t get enough of these Toronto Film Festival photos of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes and the Turban of IDGAF. They crack me up every single time I see them. Eva?s turban is the gift that keeps on giving! Anyhoodle, The Enquirer claims that Ryan and Eva are still very much loved up! Sorry, Gosling Hey-Girls. It?s not going to happen, at least according to The Turban?s propaganda machine. According to the Enquirer, Ryan and Eva will probably get married next year and they?re already planning to make a nest for themselves in Miami.
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are running away! They plan to escape the bright lights of LA by fleeing some 3,000 miles to Miami, where they?ll set up their love nest, say sources.
?Ryan?s friends tell him he?s crazy to leave LA,? a pal told The Enquirer. ?It?s where his career is and where his friends are. But Ryan says producers and directors will know where to find him. He wants a new life and a fresh start with Eva. They feel trapped in LA.?
Ryan and Eva have been dating for more than a year, and friends say they?re likely to wed early in 2013 and are already planning their future together. They?ve focused on Miami for a good reason. Eva was born there to Cuban immigrants and then moved to LA with her mom at age 10 after her parents divorced.
?Eva has a strong liking for Miami,? said a friend. ?It?s a place of happy memories for her.?
As for Ryan, when he was just 12, his family moved to Orlando, Florida and he got his first big acting break on the Disney Channel?s Mickey Mouse Club.
?Ryan says the two years he spent in Florida were the best of his life,? notes the friend. ?Eva and Ryan agree they need to leave LA. They sometimes feel like they?re exhibits in a zoo, being ogled all the time. It?s not the life they want for themselves or their future children.?

I always think the whole ?living in Miami? thing is a nice fantasy for five minutes, and then I remember how hot it is, and how humid, and how all of the girls have awesome bodies and every year about a million college students come and barf all over your city during ?spring break?. Still, it?s nice to fantasize about ? beautiful beaches, fun nightlife, a buyer?s market in real estate, etc. But I think it?s a bit disingenuous for Eva to complain (if she?s really complaining) about the ?attention? she gets in LA. Girl LOVES the attention she?s been getting since she started up with Ryan. She eats it up. What will The Turban do if it has to go to Miami and never be pap?d again?

Last week, Eva Mendes suddenly reemerged in a series of candid photo-ops? or perhaps it was just a coincidence that the paparazzi magically knew when Eva would be running errands and spending time with Ryan Gosling?s Mohawked dog, George. I took the photos as proof that Eva and Ryan were still very much together. But I still wasn?t sure where Ryan was ? I assumed he was in LA, but it looks like he was in New Orleans for most of the week, and then he just flew from NOLA to NYC. That?s what these new Gosling photos show ? he flew out of New Orleans and into JFK. Coincidentally (hm?), Eva was also photographed in LA yesterday. Guess what Fame/Flynet?s description is? ?Actress Eva Mendes seen arriving for some acting classes in Westwood.? Acting classes?! Well, at least we can?t complain that she isn?t trying, you know?
Going back to the Gosling photos ? that v-neck is little bit too much, right? I mean, even the Gosling fan-girls are like ?Er? a tight v-neck that shows off his man-cleavage? RLY?? And yes, let?s talk about his man-cleavage. I don?t think I?ve ever seen a slim dude like Ryan with those kind of high, cleavage-y pecs. Jason Momoa?s pecs look kind of like that, but I think Gosling has Momoa beat on ?perkiness?.
Oh, and I would wear the hell out of Eva?s dress, but I think those pockets are a design flaw. That dress would have been perfect without the pockets.

Before all of the Gosling fan-girls kept voodoo dolls of her, Eva Mendes was in a long-term relationship with a man named George Gargurevich, also known as George Augusto (for whatever reason). George and Eva were together for eight years, and although there were some rumors of breakups here and there, I have to admit – it seemed pretty stable, especially for Hollywood. George and Eva broke up last year, probably around July 2011. Eva and Ryan Gosling were a thing by the Fall of 2011. So? she moved quickly. And Ryan is looking less and less like her rebound after what was basically a common-law marriage to George. Now Star Magazine reports that Ryan is a bit perturbed by Eva?s ongoing friendship/business partnership with George. Hmm? Ryan is jelly?!
Eva Mendes may be hot and heavy with Ryan Gosling, 31, but she still can?t seem to cut ties with her ex George Gargurevich, whom she dated for eight years.
?Back in October, Eva and Ryan were constantly fighting because George was still living in his and Eva?s shared home,? a source says. ?Ryan flipped out about it. George finally moved out, but now the two are going to be working together on their new home-accessories line, Vida. Ryan hates their constant communication and just wants it to end.?
The only trouble is, Vida is actually George?s idea, so Eva doesn?t feel like she can just kick him out of the business. She also knows that he would put up a fight, considering he didn?t want the relationship to end in the first place and is hanging on to Eva any way that he can.
?Ryan keeps telling her to just buy him out, but she doesn?t feel right firing him. Plus, Eva actually really values George?s opinion and friendship. Why should she have to banish him from her life just because Ryan feels threatened??

Is it okay if I don?t really have an opinion about this? It could be true, it could be false. I don?t really see Ryan as a jealous dude, especially considering this relationship seems kind of fauxmance-y to me, but? it could happen. Dudes do get jealous. Especially when their ladies are still in business with their exes.

This is a fan photo (via Instagram) of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes at the graduation ceremony of Brock University. I will get to that backstory in just a moment. First, I should point out that those photos we covered on Monday – the ones of Ryan and Eva at LAX together – were the beginning of their wild and crazy Canadian adventure. They?ve been in Canada all week. LaineyGossip had some of the details here – first they went to Montreal, then Toronto, and then to St. Catherines in Ontario, which is where Brock University is located. So why go to this seemingly random graduation? Ryan?s mom graduated!!
Mega star Ryan Gosling proudly watched his mom graduate from Brock University Wednesday. The 31-year-old Canadian actor created quite a stir when he attended the St. Catharines campus with his Hollywood girlfriend Eva Mendes, 38.
Fans lined up outside the auditorium and Twitter blew up with news of sightings. For hours Wednesday afternoon Brock University was trending in the Top 10 on the popular social networking site in Canada.
When approached by The Standard, Gosling said he wasn’t doing interviews.
“This is my mom’s day,” he said.
Gosling, who has starred in more than 30 movies including The Notebook, Drive and The Ides of March, left the ceremony early so he wouldn’t disturb the proceedings. Mendes left shortly after. They met up in a room where the graduates went following the event.
“He requested privacy for himself and his family,” said university spokesman Kevin Cavanagh. “He told me this was his mom’s day and the graduates’ day. He didn’t want to be a diversion.”
Kerri Behling, 21, volunteered to help out at the graduation ceremony after hearing rumours that Gosling was going to be there. She, along with at least a dozen other people, stood on a landing outside the gym, shooting photos of the back of Gosling’s head.
“I’ve never seen a famous person before,” the 21-year-old Brock student said.
Seeing Gosling for her first star sighting made the experience that much better, she said.
“I think he’s the same person as he was in The Notebook,” she laughed. “I’m out here waiting for a proposal.”
Brock students Amy Wilson, 22, Erin Wyhoda, 22, and Nicole Studenny, 23, went to the school’s convocation after hearing that Gosling’s mother was graduating.
“He walked right by us,” Wilson said, noting they all stood there stunned, not even snapping a picture.

That would be me – I?d be one of those people too ?stunned? to even move if I chanced upon one of my favorite male actors. I talk big about throwing myself at the likes of Michael Fassbender, but in reality, I would probably just stand very still, watching him like a hawk, not even daring to breathe. Anyway, it?s nice that Ryan came to his mom?s graduation. I have mixed feelings about Ryan making such a ?thing? about it not being his day. Surely there could have been a happy-medium, like he could have given an interview to a local paper and still established that the day was all about the graduates? Because it?s weird to think that Ryan really expected to NOT get fan-girl?d.

Getting together to celebrate his mom?s achievements, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were spotted leaving Brock University in St. Catharines, Canada on Wednesday (June 6).
The ?Drive? actor looked effortlessly cool in black jeans and a maroon Lacoste sweater while the brunette beauty looked fabulous in a knee length flowing dress and nude heels as they made their way around with heavy security.
The two made the trip to the Canadian city to celebrate Ryan?s mom Donna?s convocation ceremony at the school.
Besides their current trip, the Hollywood couple have been quite the jet-setters lately. As previously reported by GossipCenter, the two were spotted last month strolling hand in hand in New York City before grabbing a flight at LAX in Los Angeles just a few days ago.

Thank you for not letting me down on Friday and making that Ryan Gosling-Eva Mendes post one of the most commented-on of the day. Allegedly, Eva Mendes wants to have Gosling?s baby and she?s already gone off of The Pill. These are new photos of Ryan and Eva at LAX over the weekend, headed for a flight out of LA. They walked into LAX separately – sort of. But for the most part, standing in line and going through security checks, they were together. You can see more photos of them here.
What does their body language say to you? And what does this joint ?candid? appearance say to you? What it says to me: the occasional photo op in NYC and Paris aside, these two still actively try to avoid being photographed together. But? while they aren?t going to go out of their way to make it easy for the paparazzi, they?re also not too perturbed when they are spotted out together. My theory is still that one of them (cough) wants to be seen as part of a couple while the other person (cough) doesn?t want to famewhore their relationship. I don?t know, though.
Should we also talk about Eva?s fashion? As she gets pap?d more and more these days, I have to say? her casual style is lacking. She?s not like Jennifer Garner, who seems to simply prioritize comfort and ?mom clothes?. I get the feeling that Eva really thinks the outfits she puts together are super-cute. And they?re not. These green pants should be destroyed. These pants give her Phantom Fupa.

I?m foreseeing a great deal of hate for Eva Mendes in the first round, followed by a second round of convoluted debating about reproductive rights, contraception and third-wave feminism, followed by a third round devoted to how much Ryan Gosling sucks because he?s with Eva Mendes. Do not disappoint me, people. Star Magazine reports that Eva Mendes wants to have Ryan Gosling?s baby. I KNOW. She wants to gestate a baby gosling (redundant) so badly, she?s allegedly issued Ryan a ?Put a baby in me or we?re over? ultimatum. The kicker – and the buried lede – is that Star Mag?s sources claim that Eva is ALREADY gone off The Pill. Flame on, y?all.
It might be time for Ryan Gosling to put or shut up with girlfriend Eva Mendes, as the stunning actress is demanding a little Gosling from the Hollywood hunk.
?Eva has given Ryan an ultimatum. She told Ryan she wants a baby with him, and that if he isn?t prepared to do that, they should split up,? a source tells Star.
Eva, 38, has told multiple friends she is off the Pill and ready to become a mom. ?Eva?s clock is ticking,? says the source. ?She?s been aching to start a family for a few years – and even seriously looked into adoption in the summer of 2010. ?He?s loyal and not a skirt-chaser,? the source says. But that doesn?t mean Ryan?s totally on board himself. ?Ryan loves Eva, but he isn?t ready for a baby right now – he?s concentrating on his career,? the source explains. And that may just put an abrupt end to the adorable couple.

I believed the Us Weekly story a few weeks ago with sources claiming that Ryan ?grew distant? with Eva for several months, and they?re relationship was in flux. But! I think that photo op they did together in NYC was a public confirmation that they?re still very much ?on? and very serious about each other. Almost one week ago, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes stepped out for what seemed like their first big, blatant candid photo op since their holiday in the City of Lights last November. Can you believe they?ve been together? something like eight or nine months? I?m counting that September trip to Disneyland as ?the beginning? of their relationship, just because it seems like Gosling took all of his girls there in the first stages of dating (and then post-Disneyland, he would dump them).
Now, Gosling and Eva had been photographed together a few times in between Thanksgiving and last week, but it really seemed like Eva was trying to tone down her famewhore, perhaps under orders from Ryan Gosling, who must realize that he?s become somewhat overexposed. In those dark months, Eva and Ryan often faced speculation (which I started) that their relationship wasn?t for real, that they weren?t really into each other, that he had already dumped her, etc. The photo op last week was a bold move, I thought. All of a sudden, I thought, ?Wow, they?re way more solid than I previously believed.? Especially considering that pre-photo-op, it really seemed like Eva and Ryan were barely seeing each other any more. Well? we were sort of right, according to Us Weekly. Throughout April, Eva and Ryan were kind of on the outs. Sort of.
Eva Mendes got to play house with Ryan Gosling all spring when she tagged along to Thailand for his Only God Forgives shoot. The actress cooked up a storm for their dinners, marvels a Mendes pal: ?This was a girl who once couldn?t make pasta!?
But come late April, when the duo were back in LA, it got complicated. Gosling, 31, grew distant, and Mendes, 38, confronted him, says the pal.
?He says he wants to slow down and not live with her yet. But he doesn?t want to lose her.?

I have wondered how Ryan managed to go from girl to girl so quickly, and how he managed to do it all with his ?sweet heartthrob? image intact (when really the guy goes through girls like a Gerard Butler). Is this how Ryan does it? He does the ?growing distant? and the ?phase out? breakup? That sucks. But Eva managed to hold on to him for some reason. Maybe Ryan finds it beneficial to have an ?official? girlfriend right now. Jesus, is he turning into Justin Timberlake?
Oh, and In Touch Weekly (via Jezebel) has a story this week about Ryan meeting Eva Mendes’s mom. Apparently Mother Mendes loves and adores Ryan and she was seen ?gushing, hugging and kissing? Ryan in the front yard of somebody?s house. Hm?

Looking for a little afternoon boost, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were spotted grabbing coffee in New York City yesterday (May 10).
The ?Lars and the Real Girl? stud and his ?Hitch? honey looked to be in good spirits as they walked along the street holding hands following their stop at the East Village?s Panya Bakery.
And it sounds like both Ryan and Eva have plenty of promotional duties coming up later this year.
Gosling will be starring in ?The Gangster Squad? with Sean Penn and Emma Stone, while Eva?s ?Girl In Progress? is now playing.
