Ryan Gosling is the January cover boy for GQ Magazine. GOSDONG!!! I know many of you are over him now that he?s slipping The Gosdong to Blake Lively, but I still have some affection for him. He got a Golden Globe nomination this morning too - and maybe he?ll even bring Blake as his date!!! Good times. Anyway, GQ has only released a few select excerpts from their cover interview. Also: Gosling took his GQ interviewer to Disneyland. At this point, the boy has a Disney fetish, he really does. Once, even twice if your name appears with ?Magic Castle? I?ll let it go - but we?re going on at least a half dozen Gosling-Disneyland references in a year. Enough. Here are the highlights:
?The path of the Reluctant Movie Star has been well worn at least since Brando, but few have walked it as doggedly and resolutely as Gosling,? writes GQ correspondent Brett Martin. All of Ryan Gosling?s roles, with the exception of The Notebook, have been ?small, odd, and metaphysically mysterious.? Even his two latest movies, All Good Things and Blue Valentine, ?do little to alter the perception that he will only do those things that appeal to his own, confident sense of what?s worth doing.?
The two spent time together at some of Gosling?s favorite L.A. spots, including the Magic Castle and The Varnish, discussing family (he comes from a ?family of believers?) and his various jobs outside of acting (including working at a local deli). Gosling says his latest film (with rumblings of an Oscar nod), Blue Valentine, is the best he?ll ever make.
Ryan Gosling on his family?s willful suspension of disbelief:
?My mother still believes in Santa Claus. We tried to break it to her once, but she wasn?t having it. There are very few believers in the world, but my mother is one of them. I don?t know if she?d admit that this is why she does it, but it?s just more fun to believe in Santa than not to.?
?on why he got a job at a deli after his Hollywood hit, The Notebook:
? ?I?d never had a real job,? he says. The problem with Hollywood, he goes on, is that nobody works. ?They have meals. They go to Pilates. But it?s not enough. So they do drugs. If everybody had a pile of rocks in their backyard and spent every day moving them from one side of the yard to the other, it would be a much happier place.? ?
?on expecting retribution from his success:
?Look, this is crazy. I don?t understand how I?m here, living this life, wearing this suit. I assume I?m going to pay for it someday?. And that?s okay. It seems fair to me. I just want to be ready for it. I want to meet it like a gentleman.?

You know who Gosling reminds me of a little bit? Shia Labeouf. It?s like there?s some sort of desire - in both Gosling and Shia - to come across as somewhat creepy/weird, just in attempt to be different. And I hate to say it, but I think Shia does it with more authenticity, you know? Shia seems genuinely creepy and weird. Gosling seems like he?s trying too hard.

Stepping out for an enjoyable evening, Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling were spotted at the Tribeca Grill Loft in New York City last night (December 5).
The ?Shutter Island? actress and the ?Lars and the Real Girl? guy attended a special screening of their film ?Blue Valentine? at the New York City hotspot.
The special event was hosted by Hollywood legend (and recent ?Saturday Night Live? host) Robert DeNiro and his Tribeca Film Festival cohort Jane Rosenthal.

Maybe this is why Ryan Gosling didn?t show up for the All Good Things premiere? Eh. Gosling took part in a round-table discussion of potential Oscar nominees, sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Tonight. ET excerpted the part of the discussion where Gosling talked in great detail about his firing/withdrawal from The Lovely Bones, an incident which happened a few years ago. Gosling was one of the first ones cast for the project - he was supposed to play the father of the murdered girl, in the film adaptation directed by Peter Jackson. Gosling describes how he was just flat out wrong about the character, thinking that the father should be much, much heavier:
Ryan Gosling said he was “fat and unemployed” after showing up on set of ‘The Lovely Bones’ 60 pounds bigger.
During a round table conversation put on by The Hollywood Reporter that included a number of other Oscar Award hopefuls, Ryan said he and ‘The Lovely Bones’ director Peter Jackson had “wildly different” ideas as to what the character of Jack Salmon (that was eventually played by Mark Wahlberg) was to look and act like. “I was 150 pounds when he hired me, and I showed up on set 210 pounds,” he disclosed.
“I really believed [the character] should be 210 pounds. I was melting Haagen Dazs and drinking it when I was thirsty,” he admitted. “I really believed in it. I was excited about it.”
Ryan said when he got on set, he was asked to hit the treadmill. “I just showed up on set and I’d gotten it wrong. … It didn’t ever become about the weight because the weight was just indicative of a deeper misunderstanding about the character.”
The actor seems to have bounced back from the “misunderstanding” as his role in ‘Blue Valentine’ is getting a bit of Oscar buzz.

Melting Haagen Dazs? Sweet Jesus. Why does that sound so good to me right now? Oh, right, I?m sick. I want to take baths in ice cream and egg drop soup (in no particular order). CB also showed me this - Jared Leto did the same drinking-ice-cream thing when he was trying to gain weight.
You know what?s weird? I read the book, and in no way is the father supposed to be a heavy man. He?s also not supposed to be blonde - he?s black Irish, if I remember correctly, and he?s supposed to be a good-looking man. Maybe Mark Wahlberg was the right choice. Plugging away on his latest flick, Ryan Gosling was spotted on the Los Angeles, CA set of ?Drive? on Tuesday (October 26).
The ?Notebook? actor stepped out for a cigarette break and was decked out in movie wardrobe, complete with fake blood all over his hands.
In other news, Gosling recently reflected back about what it was like working with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on the 90s Disney series, ?The Mickey Mouse Club.?
He revealed, ?It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn?t really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do.?

LaineyGossip is reporting that Blake Lively and Ryan Gosling went out together. They went out for ice cream, but were very careful not to be photographed together, only separately, with fans (photos here). Lainey claims ?Right not it?s not a relationship.? But she also says she doesn?t want to talk about it, which is really, really funny to me for some reason. I felt the same way when Gerard Butler was rumored to be ?butlering? Jennifer Aniston. I do NOT want to talk about that sh-t. When they guy you love, the dude whose babies you would have in a heartbeat, when that dude starts being ?rumored with? some chick you know is not worthy? well, I feel Lainey?s pain. I feel everyone else?s pain too, everyone who is just in love with Ryan. Me? I like him, I think he?s adorable, but I wouldn?t have his babies. So I?m kind of excited by the prospect of a Blake-Ryan coupling. It could totally be interesting.

These are new photos of our lover (I?m sharing!) Ryan Gosling on the set of his new film, Drive, in Los Angeles yesterday. He was eating an apple (cute!) and wearing the f-ck out of a pair of jeans and a tight blue shirt. My God? the costuming department needs some awards, stat! Thank you thank you thank you to whoever put Gosling in this ensemble. I know, it seems like we?re on constant Bulge Watch over here (check out The Hamm?s bulge earlier this week!), but in our defense, there are some good bulges going around. And there are so many sites devoted to bikinis and cleavage and upskirts and all. Bulge Watch just seems harmless and fun and like the girls can get something too.
As for the film, Drive seems somewhat Michael Bay-esque. I know, there?s horrible to say. But here?s the plot description: ?A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.? So a dude is doing stunt driving all over LA (probably) as he runs for his life and beds babes, probably. The cast includes Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman. There?s a potential for love scenes for Ryan with Hendricks and Mulligan, hopefully. Can I just say - Christina and Ryan?s love scenes could be really, really hot. Fingers crossed.

Pairing up for a new movie, Christina Hendricks joined Ryan Gosling on the set of "Drive" in High Desert, CA on Sunday (September 26).
Prior to getting work underway, the "Mad Men" actress arrived to the set to be greeted with a welcoming gift of flowers from the production team.
From there, the beautiful redhead and her "The Notebook" co-star spent their first day of filming by shooting a seedy Vegas-style hotel scene in which Gosling's character smacks around the role taken on by Miss Hendricks.
Due out in 2011, "Drive" is about "a Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman while discovering that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong."

Enjoying his time at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, Ryan Gosling was spotted at the premiere of his new film ?Blue Valentine? yesterday (September 15).
The ?Notebook? stud arrived at the Ryerson Theatre sporting a snazzy grey suit as he posed for the press photographers.
In the film, Ryan and his costar Michelle Williams are involved in some steamy sex scenes together.
He explained, ?You mean the trying-not-to-have-sex sex scene? It was hard. In real life, sex is messy, and we wanted to get at that wonderful messiness.?

It?s long been rumored that Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling really, really enjoyed working with each other on Blue Valentine, and that sparks might have flown, etc. I have no idea whether there was any stroking, boning, spanking or hair-pulling, although just typing those words in conjunction with the words ?Ryan Gosling? have made me very warm. So I can imagine that even if Michelle didn?t see Gosling as boyfriend material for whatever reason, she probably hit it, at least once. Anyway, as LaineyGossip reported a while ago, Gosling recently went to Toronto - where Michelle is filming a movie - so that they could do a photo shoot (for W Magazine) together, and they ended up spending some quality time together. I hope there was stroking involved, I really do:

It sounds like they?re f-ck buddies, doesn?t it? I mean, sure, I could be ?nice? and just say that they sound like good friends, and like they?ve got each other?s back and isn?t it sweet to see two actors who obviously care about each other in a lovely way. But I think there?s stroking going on, and I like it. I like Michelle, for the most part, and even though she?s a bit too fragile and flowery and vintage for my taste (I?m a hard bitch), I want the best for her. I want her to get laid, well and often. And I think Gosling is a great candidate.
