Whenever you?re sitting around, thinking about how Brad Pitt is dumb, just remember one thing: he was smart enough to resist the temptations of Xenu. Brad Pitt managed to resist Xenu?s forbidden pleasures for years and years. Although there might have been a time, very early in his career, when Brad flirted with Xenu. This is according to Jenna Miscavige Hill, who remembers how Juliette Lewis (who was dating Brad at the time, which would make this the early 1990s) tried to get Brad to ?convert? to Scientology. This is fascinating:
Brad Pitt studied Scientology in the early ?90s before realizing the religion wasn?t for him, the niece of the Church?s controversial leader David Miscavige has revealed in a new tell-all interview. The Moneyball actor, 49, was dating Cape Fear star Juliette Lewis when he went through the religion?s Purification Rundown program to detox from drugs ? a battle the star has previously confessed led him down a path to depression.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline, Jenna Miscavige Hill ? who broke free from the Church after spending 21 years on the inside, including as a member of its super secret Sea Org ? also detailed for the first time how Irish rock star Bono was heavily audited as her uncle, the organization?s ecclesiastical leader, made him a priority to recruit.
?There?s a celebrity strategy and they?re targeted for their influence, not their money,? revealed Jenna, who published an explosive memoir, Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape in a blaze of publicity in February.
?They know people are obsessed with celebrities so will get more interested in Scientology. I think that celebrities are more inclined to be egocentric and Scientology caters for that ? you?re your own God. They?re probably being told that all the time.
?But they?re probably insecure, so the self-help of Scientology lends itself to that. And Scientology is meant to save people and the world, so the charitable thing appeals to a celebrity. If you?re egocentric, not always confident or insecure because of being in public eye and want to be charitable, Scientology pushes your buttons.
?That?s why someone like Bono would fit the bill perfectly as so many people know him. I know he was receiving Scientology auditing and was at one of the Celebrity Centre Galas. Why would he need auditing? Scientology markets itself to everyone, it can deal with everything from marital problems to public speaking. He?s a human, so he still needs those things. If he were to join, all the world would be Scientology!?
Jenna knows the Church from the inside after spending virtually her whole life in it before defecting eight years ago.
The 29-year-old ex-member recounted how Pitt, soon-to-be-married to Angelina Jolie, went through the Purification Rundown, also known as the Purif or the Hubbard Method, a controversial detoxification program developed by Scientology?s founder L. Ron Hubbard and used by the Church of Scientology as an introductory service. Scientologists consider it an effective way to deal with the long-term effects of drug abuse or toxic exposure.
?I remember my mum working on renovations for the Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles and she saw Brad Pitt there,? she recalled. ?I was in love with him at the time. He was in there to do the Purification Rundown. It?s like the first step. I guess he was doing it because of his girlfriend Juliette Lewis. I know Juliette was into drugs and says Scientology saved her from them.?
This is not the first time a high-profile defector has linked Pitt to Scientology: In her book Scientology ? Abuse at the Top, author Amy Scobee claimed, ?In the end, Brad didn?t think it was for him and he and Juliette broke up.
?He was high on the church list president?s list of stars they felt could be ?recovered.??
When asked to comment of Jenna?s claims, a church spokesperson described her as having ?varied and ever-shifting ?memories? from her childhood.
?At no time was Mrs. Hill ever privy to any ?priorities? or ?strategies?,? the rep said. ?As a result, she is in no position to comment and any claims to the contrary must be viewed with skepticism. Our priorities are and always have been the establishment and expansion of the Scientology religion. In furtherance of this is the establishment of 37 new Scientology churches in major metropolitan areas and cultural centers around the world in just the past few years.?
The spokesperson noted the church established Celebrity Centres in 1969 because of the ?significant contribution to society that people in the arts represent? ? rejecting Jenna?s claim they covet identities? fame and fortune.
[From Radar]
Just think, Brad could be on a Brazilian beach with John Travolta right now, getting massages from attractive youths, singing “Xenu Can You Hear Me?” and declaring a lazy fatwa against Leah Remini. From the way Brad talks about religion these days, it feels like he considers himself an atheist (or a severe agnostic) and that he rejects every religion, not just Xenu-tastic ones.
You know what I wonder? After Brad and Juliette broke up, he did Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise. I wonder if Tom tried to recruit Brad all over again.

| Is Brad Pitt 'too dumb' to be on the board of the Museum of Contemporary Art' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Granted, I don?t know much about contemporary art or how museums run, or what a museum?s board of directors really DOES. But I feel like the shade being thrown at Brad Pitt in this article is a little unfair. According to The Enquirer, Brad really wanted a position on the board of the LA Museum of Contemporary Art. Brad made personal appeals to members of the selection committee and he tried to impress upon them his knowledge of art (especially modern and contemporary art, I would imagine). But the Enquirer says all of the MOCA people think Brad is kind of dumb. Ouch. Burn.
Brad Pitt may be as pretty as a picture but he?s been deemed not bright enough to serve on the board of L.A ?s Museum of Contemporary Art! The hunky ?World War Z star ? a longtime enthusiast of culture and architecture ? made an ambitious play for the MOCA position, but sources tell The ENQUIRER he doesn?t stand a chance at landing the gig.
?Brad?s always been a huge supporter of the museum, and it?s undergoing a management shakeup,? said a source. ?So he had someone feel out members of the selection committee to see if they?d be interested in him participating at a higher level. While they admire Brad?s ambition, I think the fear is that Brad might be a little on the dumb side to serve on an art board. He doesn?t even have a college degree.?
Dad of-six Pitt, 49, dropped out of the University of Missouri to pursue his acting dream and he?s long dealt with whispers that he lives in the intellectual shadow of his 38-year-old partner Angelina Jolie, a United Nations Good Will Ambassador. While Brad knew getting the museum job was a long shot, another source says he?s still stung by the rejection.
?Brad has a huge art collection that?s worth well over $25 million,? said a second source. ?He?s been collecting pieces for years and studying up on the old masters. But just because he can buy art does not mean he can curate it. Good looks and fame are simply not enough to run a huge museum like the MOCA. Fortunately, I?m sure Brad will get over it.?
[From The Enquirer]
Here?s the thing ? I think Brad is kind of dumb too. Well, maybe that?s the wrong word. I don?t think Brad is, like, fall-down stupid. He?s just not as smart as he thinks he is, and I think he has issues with being able to intelligently articulate his real thoughts. That being said, I would be willing to bet that Brad knows a lot about art. I bet he?s more knowledgeable about contemporary and modern art than the average person. Plus, he?s a big ?name? for a museum to have on their board, so he would bring so much visibility to the museum, and that would mean lots and lots of $$$. So why so dumb-shaming, MOCA?
Also, I?m sure many of you Brangeloonies saw this earlier in the week, but it?s worth noting: big dummie Brad had the biggest hit of his career with World War Z. WWZ has made more than $500 million worldwide and the studio will definitely make a lot of money off it. Brad?s dumb gamble paid off! Dumb like a fox. (A foxy goat.)

| Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie arrive in Japan with Knox, Vivienne & Pax: cute? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some new photos of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Knox, Vivienne (who you can barely see) and Pax arriving at Narita airport in Japan yesterday/today. I?m assuming Brad and the gang are in Japan to support World War Z, just because? that?s the only film that either of them have released in the past year. So often, it seems like the older girls are the ones who like to travel with both their mom and their dad ? Shiloh and Zahara seem to be the most eager to drop everything and go exploring with one of their parents, so it?s interesting to see a new grouping of Jolie-Pitts. Vivienne and Knox and Pax. Interesting.
While I hate to say this ? because I am still a hardcore Angelina-defender on most things ? I have to admit that Angelina looks much, much too thin. She?s been wearing so much sack clothing over the past year as she went about her double mastectomy and breast reconstruction, so it?s startling to see her in such tight leggings (are those leather leggings?!) and a form-fitting sweater. She looks crazy-small. Her legs are too thin. Again, I hate saying that because we don?t know exactly what?s going on with her, but I really wish she would concentrate on trying to put on some weight.
Knox and Vivienne turned five years old a few weeks ago. Does that make you feel old? Time really flies, doesn?t it?

| Brad Pitt & Shia LaBeouf visit Fort Irwin in preparation for WWII film 'Fury' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

First of all, does that tank have ?DONG? written on it? Yes, I?m pretty sure it does. Rather on point, I think. Anyway, these are some photos from the Fort Irwin National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif. Brad Pitt, Shia Labeouf, Logan Lerman, and Jon Bernthal met with soldiers and spent time at the training facility last week ? apparently, they even spent the night on Wednesday too. They were doing research for a film called Fury, which is described by IMDB as ?A crew of Americans in Nazi Germany toward the end of World War II embark on a brave mission.? And Hollywood?s nostalgia for all things WWII continues. The local paper had some more information, and as you can see, the trip was well-documented by photographers:
FORT IRWIN ? Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf spent two days at the National Training Center this week doing research for future movie roles, according to Fort Irwin spokesman Gus Bahena.
Pitt will star in the World War II film ?Fury? alongside the Transformer?s star LaBeouf, according to multiple reports. The film is scheduled to be released in November 2014.
?It was a unit-sponsored event with just a small group of soldiers in the field,? Bahena said about the visit. ?They talked about the mission of the NTC, what those particular soldiers do and the soldiers? experience and background. There was no official meet-and-greet.?
The two actors spent the night at Fort Irwin on Wednesday and embedded with the Operations Group for the full day on Thursday, he said.
The Ops Group is a permanent unit at Fort Irwin responsible for facilitating training of the rotating units. The Ops Group observes, controls and gives after-training reviews. Bahena said the timing of the stars? visit was fitting because Friday marks the last day of training for rotating units until September.
On Fort Irwin?s official Facebook page, an NTC official posted: ?They?re only here for a brief visit to observe the complex training environment that the National Training Center has to offer. We will respect their purpose and their privacy for being here and appreciate that they are seeking interest in our mission at the NTC.?
[From The Desert Dispatch]
There might not have been an official meet-and-greet, but from the looks of things, the actors did spend a lot of time posing with military fans and shaking hands and generally being nice to soldiers. Which is awesome, and I?m glad they did that. Shia seems like he was a little ?extra? but he always seems like that. I don?t know if he had his combat uniform made up or if Fort Irwin gave that to him and he just decided to wear it. Anyway, enjoy the photos. I think Brad?s wearing a little too much jewelry for a trip to a military base, but I bet many of those soldiers were really jazzed to meet him.

World War Z did not win its opening weekend box office. Which is okay, I guess. I?m not sure anyone predicted that it would win the weekend, especially given that Monsters University opened this weekend and Pixar films basically mint money. So Monsters U. won the weekend box office with around $82 million domestic box office. WWZ made $66 million for its domestic opening weekend, which is more than most analysts were predicting. WWZ also made more than $45 million in international markets, so it opened with well over $100 million. Considering WWZ cost the studio more than $200 million to make, it still has a way to go before everyone breaks even, but hey? at least it?s not a box office bomb. The film will make money for the studio. Eventually. Oh, here?s something nice: this was the biggest opening ever for one of Brad?s films.
So, obviously, I went to see WWZ this weekend. I went to a Sunday matinee, my second Sunday matinee in a week! When I went to see Man of Steel, the theater was jam-packed for a lazy Sunday afternoon. But for WWZ, it was half-full. But that was fine. I got a better seat. Would you like my thoughts??
************** SPOILERS ? SPOILERS for World War Z:
First, let me just say that I haven?t read the book. Maybe someday I?ll read the book, but my review of the film is not about whether the film is a good adaptation of the book. I came into the film knowing next to nothing about the story or what the story was supposed to be, and I think that?s the way to enjoy it ? don?t expect it to be something it?s not.
So, with that in mind? I was surprised by what a cohesive film it was. No joke. This movie took more than a year to film, with a bunch of start-stop productions and extensive reshoots, and I was expecting to be able to identify ?Oh, that?s a reshoot.? I wasn?t able to do that. It?s a cohesive film. Now, there are also some plot holes and there were certain plotlines which were under-explained, but there was nothing too glaring or awful.
Brad was good. He was better when he was on the move, running from zombies, than when he was with his family. I?m sure I?m the only one who thought this, but his daughters were incredibly annoying and whiny. And Mireille Enos looked pissed off most of the time instead of ?worried?. Mireille has what I like to call a ?natural bitchface?. It?s fine when she?s playing a cop or someone serious and cynical, but it?s not so great when she?s supposed to look worried and vulnerable.
There?s this one actress I want to mention though ? an Israeli actress named Daniella Kertesz! She played the IDF soldier Segen, who spends a good chunk of the last half of the movie with Brad. She was awesome!! She was my favorite part, no joke. She had a shaved head, she was emotional, pained, strong and badass. I loved her. Also deserving of special attention: a young child actor named Fabrizio Zacharee Guido (in the film he?s called Tomas). He?s pretty awesome too. Hilariously, Matthew Fox has a cameo in the film only I don?t think anyone told him it was going to be a cameo.
As for the zombies? they were terrifying when they were sneaking up on people, but when you finally get a chance to see one up close, it?s just kind of funny. The ?solution? to the problem seemed kind of? I don?t know, they didn?t explain it enough. They talked about ?vaccines? but I wanted more details about what went into that. I also would have enjoyed more details about how it seemed like some countries (??) were trying to drop nuclear bombs on the zombies. No one ever said anything about radiation or anything, but there is an actual mushroom cloud in one part of the movie. I also thought it was bizarre that, like, this UN investigator was literally THE ONLY PERSON to think of the solution. Like, there were teams of doctors all over the place and Brad Pitt was the only one to figure it out. Doesn?t the World Health Organization prepare for this kind of situation?!? I demand that the WHO and the CDC be prepared for the zombie apocalypse. Someone needs to War Game this junk.
Lastly ? I?m sure the book explains this better, but it really bugged me that no one was in charge in America. There?s a UN guy and an admiral or something ordering people around on a Navy vessel, but what is the chain of command? Where?s the continuity of government? The dude is just like, ?The president is dead, the vice president is ?missing?.? Which means that Biden is a zombie now, which is kind of funny (wrong, but funny!), but there is still a chain of command, damn it! If POTUS and VPOTUS fall, the Speaker of the House becomes POTUS. And then the Senate Pro Tempore. And then Secretary of State, and on and on until you reach the lowly cabinet secretary who isn’t a zombie. What we saw in WWZ amounted to a military junta (coordinating with some UN deputy!) overtaking the republic.

| Brad Pitt on James Gandolfini: 'A gentle soul' I am gutted by this loss' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Brad Pitt in Moscow and Madrid over the past few days. He was in Moscow on Thursday, to premiere World War Z at the Moscow Film Festival (which I didn?t know existed). Those are the photos of Brad in all-black, with the leather pants. The Madrid photos are the ones of Brad in gray. He stopped into a Madrid screening of WWZ, and my goodness, the people don?t look excited to see him at all. At this point, I guess people are kind of hoping NOT to see Brad at WWZ screenings because he?s seriously shown up at least a dozen so far.
There are also some cute photos ? which we don?t have, sorry, but you can see here ? of Brad with Empress Zahara and Shiloh in Russia. I guess his Moscow trip was for time for some daddy-daughter time, which is super-cute. Zahara still looks like she?s in charge. I bet she kept her dad?s itinerary on her iPad. She?s all, ?Leave time to wash your hair before the premiere, I put it on your schedule.? His hair does look less greasy in the Moscow pics. Zahara?s good influence is felt by all.
While Brad continued to do press for WWZ, he got some questions about James Gandolfini?s death. Brad and James worked together on True Romance, The Mexican and Killing Them Softly. First, Brad issued a statement to Deadline: ?I admire Jimmy as a ferocious actor, a gentle soul and a genuinely funny man. I am fortunate to have sat across the table from him and am gutted by this loss. I wish his family strength and some semblance of peace.? When Brad was asked about Gandolfini by the BBC on Thursday, he said: ?Ah, man, yeah, it’s a huge loss, a huge loss. He was, well, one, he was hilarious, but two, he was a ferocious actor, I mean like Brando good. But a real gentle soul behind the camera, when the camera wasn’t rolling.” Things that are mindblowing: Brad is only two years younger than James Gandolfini.

Showing off his latest work, Brad Pitt attended the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia on Thursday (June 20).
The hunky Hollywood stud looked casually cool in skinny leather pants and a black shirt as he got ready to premiere his hit film "World War Z."
Speaking of the new flick, although the film hasn't officially hit theaters yet, Pitt is already hinting at more "World War Z" movies.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the "Fight Club" star teased, "There is enough to mine from the book. We could barely get a fraction of the book in. So we'll see. We'll see."
The Marc Forster directed action movie also stars Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, and David Morse and is set to hit the box office on Friday (June 21).

They?re both always up for a challenge, and yesterday (June 18) Brad Pitt joined Jimmy Fallon on a Manhattan rooftop to show off their yodeling chops for a ?Late Night with Jimmy Fallon? segment.
Actually, the entire conversation was done through yodeling (with subtitles), and as could be expected, it was nothing short of hilarious.
Brad began, "Jimmy? What are you doing up there?" Fallon replied with gusto, "Yodeling ? you?" Pitt sang back, "Same."
Then the ?Fight Club? stud proposed, "You wanna try a double yodel?" Jimmy fired back, ?A double yodel? But that's never been done before!"

This is weird news, I think. At some point, the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie thought it would be fun to include their kids in some of their movies. Little Vivienne has a part in Angelina?s upcoming Maleficent, Shiloh had a tiny part in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (she played Benjamin as a baby/old man), and Empress Zahara is holding out for a role worthy of her talents (perhaps some role Meryl passed on). Brad just revealed that Maddox definitely has a small part in World War Z ? Maddox plays some character who gets shot in the head. My goodness.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt makes a violent cameo in his father Brad Pitt’s new zombie movie, World War Z. At the film’s premiere in New York City June 17, the engaged father of six revealed his “oldest boy” makes his feature film debut in the Marc Forster-directed apocalyptic horror movie.
“He gets shot in the head . . . multiple times. But he gets double tapped,” Pitt said of Maddox. Angelina Jolie’s fiance joked, “I don’t know what that says about me as a parent.” Pitt said his sons Maddox, 11, and Pax, 9, “have already seen it and they love it.” (Indeed, alongside their mom, 38, the siblings attended the World War Z in London June 2.)
Pitt’s young costar Fabrizio Zacharee Guido said he “became really good friends” with Maddox and Pax while filming World War Z. “They’re so much fun. They’re just normal kids,” he told Us Weekly. “We rode bikes and played video games.”
Guido added that Maddox is “a ladies’ man” who is into “any kind of girl.” Pax, meanwhile, “is a little too young” to think about dating, Guido added. “But he’s super fun to be around.”
Pitt is just as much fun to spend time with, according to his onscreen wife Mireille Enos. “He has really great dumb dad jokes that he would bring in for the kids,” the 37-year-old actress told Us. “Like the best, really stupid jokes for the kids that were working.”
[From Us Weekly]
I guess it?s a boy thing, right? I?m sure there are lots of young boys who would love to play a zombie (or something?) that gets ?double-tapped? in the head in a giant zombie movie. It makes me uncomfortable, but I guess it?s a guy thing, and Brad thought it was okay because he was around too. People Mag says that Maddox was kind of Brad?s ?date? for the NYC premiere and after-party too ? and that while Brad networked, Maddox hung out with the child actors and danced to Chris Brown!! Ugh.
While Brad was on the carpet at the NYC premiere, he also talked about his lady, Angelina. He told People Mag that ?She has always been the brave, bold individual that I fell for ? and sexy as ever.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s kid, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, makes a cameo in the newWorld War Z. But unlike Jaden Smith who keeps coming back to do worse and worse movies with Will because he refuses to accept that Jaden is a terrible actor, Maddox’s career ends in about 10 minutes as he gets shot in the head a bunch of times.
I suspect putting their kid in a movie just so they can shoot them in the head is the dream of any parent at least once in their life. I mean, of course they don’t want to really kill their kid, but just seeing the dark, twisted fantasy of their child getting double tapped and hearing glorious silence is all some parents need.
