Sofia Vergara covers the April issue of Esquire, which is appropriately labelled the “Sex Issue.” Surprisingly, Sofia does not speak one word during the entire interview about her rack! However, she does utter “voluptuous” at one point but it’s only as a general descriptor and not really about herself or her, you know, massive rack. As with many Esquire cover stories, the interview is somewhat offbeat; this one is conducted by a journalist, Cal Fussman, who has been married to a Latina woman for two decades. Naturally, he seeks advice from Sofia, and the piece is ultimately geared towards American men who want to understand, date, and possibly hook up with or marry a Latina woman. Much discussion is had about Sofia’s American boyfriend, Nick Loeb, and how he handles such challenges. It’s sort of a charming exchange, and here are some excerpts:
On patience as a virtue: “There’s always a lot going on. Nick wonders how I can get really mad and scream, then turn around, do something, come back, and forget that I was mad. The first time it happened, he thought, This woman is insane. One time I was screaming with my sister. Then the next day, I told him I was having lunch with her. He said, ‘How? You were just fighting with her!’ I didn’t even realize it was weird or insane until I came here. It’s not out of the ordinary where I come from. Everybody’s like that. It’s better that way. You forget about what’s bothering you. It’s not like you’re holding it inside, you know? You get it out — and it’s over with.”
On family: “Sometimes it can be bad to have too much family. Everybody gets involved in your problems, giving their opinion, gossiping, and making drama. But when bad things happen, they will be there to support you. Nick had a big accident a year and a half ago. He was in the hospital for a month. More people came to take care of me taking care of him than came to see him. He said, ‘Wow, this is amazing!’”
On dressing sexy: “That’s where it’s up to the Latina to be intelligent and choose a guy who can handle that. If a Latina falls in love with someone who is insecure, it can be a nightmare. I’ve had girlfriends who’ve been with really jealous guys, and it’s like they’re never enjoying you. You’re at a party and they’re just watching your every move.”
On cheating: “Latin men have something inside them, a genetic disposition to be a little sneaky. A Latin woman has to watch for that. An American guy might think twice before going there. He’s thinking ahead, This could turn into a problem that’s just not worth it. The Latin guy might love the drama and thrill of it in the moment. In the past, Latin men were known to keep mistresses. As long as the wife didn’t hear any gossip about it, or there wasn’t any less money for her that month, I guess she put up with it. But that was years ago. Things have changed. Women now work. Women feel like they don’t have to take that sh-t anymore.”
On sex: “I guess at the end of the day, all women like to be appreciated and treated with respect and kindness. We all want to have sex in a romantic way. But with a Latina, you’re going to have more fun”
On American swimsuits: “It’s like a diaper. It’s terrible. Who can look good in that? When I moved to the United States, I used to have bathing suits brought up from Colombia. There’s nothing slutty about a dental-floss bikini. You don’t even think about it. The first bathing suit your mother buys you is in the shape of a triangle.”
On female beauty: “Well, in Colombia everybody’s very voluptuous and you’re supposed to be. You don’t want to be skinny when all of your cousins are mermaids. You grow up thinking that’s how beauty is.”

See? Sofia’s so straightforward and matter of fact about these things, and she just can’t help herself but to be endearing to both men and women alike. It would be easy to pick on her for saying that Latinas are better in the sack, but she’s probably just having fun and playing around with her rep. It’s her shtick, and she’s representing like crazy.
As for the Esquire photoshoot, it feels like I’ve seen Sofia look this way so many times before, but it works. And if it’s not broken, well, you know what they say, right?

Sofia Vergara covers the April 2012 issue of Esquire in lingerie and talks about what it’s like to be in a relationship with a Latin woman. Just imagine the irrationality of a normal woman times 10.
On being crazy:Yeah. There’s always a lot going on. Nick [Sofia's boyfriend] wonders how I can get really mad and scream, then turn around, do something, come back, and forget that I was mad.
On men not understanding the crazy:Of course! The first time it happened, he thought, This woman is insane. One time I was screaming with my sister. Then the next day, I told him I was having lunch with her. He said, “How? You were just fighting with her!”
On not realizing you’re crazy:I didn’t even realize it was weird or insane until I came here. It’s not out of the ordinary where I come from. Everybody’s like that. It’s better that way. On the loudness of Latinas:Oh, yeah. We’re very loud. Ed O’Neill tells a funny story: When we were shooting one of the first episodes of Modern Family, our trailers were connected. So if I’m in my trailer screaming on the phone, he can hear me perfectly. I was having one of those “Oh, my God!” conversations with one of my cousins for twenty minutes. As soon as it ended, there’s a knock on the door. It’s Ed. “Sofia, are you okay?” I’m like, “What do you mean?”
“I thought maybe you were crying or having a heart attack or something.”
“Oh, no. I was just on the phone with my cousin. We were talking about someone else.”
On not being able to cook:Listen, I didn’t know how to make coffee when I came to the United States. Because in Colombia the maids do it. A mother tells the maids what to cook. The mothers are like conductors of the household. But they’re not really doing it.
On ridiculous American bikinis:Oh, me too! I was like, What is that? It’s like a diaper. It’s terrible. Who can look good in that? When I moved to the United States, I used to have bathing suits brought up from Colombia.
On why living in Colombia is so awesome:There’s nothing slutty about a dental-floss bikini. You don’t even think about it. The first bathing suit your mother buys you is in the shape of a triangle.
That’s it. I’m packing my bags and moving to Colombia with my long lens and spy cam to study the Latin woman in her natural habitat. The beach. In the name of science, of course.

With her new movie "The Three Stooges" set to hit theaters next month, Sofia Vergara added to the promotional efforts by landing the cover of the April 2012 issue of Esquire.
The 39-year-old Colombian beauty looked oh-so-hot in an array of curve-hugging lingerie while she's promised to have revealed closely guarded truths about the heretofore incomprehensible ways of the Latin woman in her interview.
Along with her new movie "The Three Stooges" opening up on April 13th, Miss Vergara is also lined up to take the Studio 8H stage as host of "Saturday Night Live" on April 7th.
Of landing the gig on the NBC show, the "Modern Family" actress told Access Hollywood, ?I?m very happy, very excited because I never thought I was going to be part of that TV show. I think it?s an American tradition. It?s a TV show that the whole world knows, so for me, it?s an honor to be part of that group of actors that are known for their excellence.?
She added of what viewers can expect, ?I don?t know yet what they have in mind. I?m going to go to New York a week before Saturday and we rehearse and they come up with the sketches, so, it?s like a whole week of work.?

They have one of the hottest shows on television, and last night (March 14) the cast of ?Modern Family? was honored at the Paley Center For Media?s PaleyFest 2012.
Ed O?Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burell, Sarah Hyland, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, Eric Stonestreet, and Ariel Winter all turned out for the shindig, held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.
During her interview in the arrivals area, Sofia shared the plotline of an upcoming episode where her character Gloria pitches in to help Cameron and Mitchell.
?Well, of course, a translator because they?re trying to adopt a Latin kid, so she?s going to play a very important role, helping them get the kid.?
As for her upcoming gig on ?Saturday Night Live,? Ms. Vergara confessed, ?Well I haven?t done anything yet. I think, I go there and they prepare me, like they tell me what I?m gonna do and we rehearse for one week before. I?m very excited.?

Sofia Vergara covers the April issue of InStyle Magazine. I?m not sure if this cover is just a really bad scan or if the editors just really screwed up the Photoshopping work, but this is a horrible cover. Thankfully, the pictorial is much prettier. It?s difficult to take a bad photo of Sofia (which makes this cover so weird). Usually, Sofia?s interviews follow the same basic path: she talks about her body, and her boobs specifically. She?ll tell a few jokes, and she?ll talk about being Colombian. While she does cover some of that stuff in this interview, I also learned something new about her: her brother was kidnapped and killed in Colombia in 1998. Did you know that? I had never heard that.
She?s not ready to have a family with Nick Loeb: “I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs.?
On meeting Nick Loeb: “The most important thing was that he was very handsome,” the Colombian actress says about her initial attraction to the businessman. “But he was also very funny, talking sh?? to me like a normal person.”
Her brother Rafael was kidnapped and killed in 1998 in Colombia – Sofia was already living in Miami, and she relocated her family to the US: ?You can’t just sit in your house and think about the tragedies. That’s when people get depressed and their lives stop.”
She?s turning 40 years old in June: “I don’t really care,” she says. “But doesn’t that sound hideous? I remember thinking when my mom was 40 that she was already done.”
Making the ?hot? lists: ?I am on these lists for ?best ass? or ?most beautiful? with women like Mila Kunis, who?s, like, 20 years old. I have a son that age! Part of my career has always been because of the way I look. I?m not ashamed. It has opened doors. But I also know that if I didn?t have something else, I?d be long gone.?
She loves jewelry: ?I love jewelry?rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, you name it. If my stylist didn?t stop me, I?d go out looking like a Christmas tree.?
Her mom: ?I grew up watching my mother do her makeup. It would be 7 AM, and she would be putting in hot rollers to take us to school. For us, that?s normal!?
On her idea of a perfect date: ?A great date? Dinner and a movie. Or sports, watched in the venue, not on TV. No canoes. No water. Nothing to mess up the hair.?
Her guilty pleasure TV show: ?I watch ?Revenge.? It?s a soap opera but so classy ? and everyone is beautiful.?
On her least favorite school subject: ?I always hated Math. The moment I run out of fingers, I can?t count anymore.?

I think it would be easy to dismiss Sofia as rather vapid, but I think she?s aiming for cheeky and half of this interview was said with a wink, in an attempt to be self-deprecating.
As for all of the Nick Loeb stuff – the impression I always get is that he?s all about her, he wants to marry her and settle down and have a baby and she?s happy the way things are. I love the statement, “I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs.? She?s just going to THINK about it. That?s her concession. She?s awesome.
