While Tom Cruise is in Pittsburgh, shooting One Shot (the film that has him playing a character who is six-and-a-half feet tall), Tom?s wife and daughter have joined him. Katie Holmes and Suri were photographed yesterday, out and about in Pittsburgh, coming out of the Children?s Museum and getting some ice cream at The Milkshake Factory. It looks like fun, although I guess we should mention that Suri is once again missing school - she was enrolled in a special Xenu school, but Katie pulled her out so that they could go to New York Fashion Week, and now Suri is in Pittsburgh. Perhaps Suri is enrolled in a Pennsylvania school now?
But let?s really talk about what?s happening in these photos. Look at Katie?s overalls! No, look at the outfit in its entirety. I?m not flat-out opposed to overalls as a casual look - some women find them comfortable, and yes, IMO those women tend to like looks that are too ?young? (baby doll dress, etc), but it’s fine. If Katie was wearing overalls and flip-flops while she ran errands, this wouldn?t be an issue. But look at how Katie has tried to ?dress up? her (truly ugly) overalls - like this is a ?pulled together? look. The booties! Ugh. Maybe I?m wrong - maybe this is just Katie?s casual look, and she didn?t put any thought into it. Or maybe Katie thinks she?s a fashion icon and she?s going to make overalls ?happen? in a big way.
Also - I love the faces Katie?s making. She hasn?t looked like a zombie lately, and it?s like her face is remembering how to emote like a human being.

Spending time in the Steel City, Katie Holmes took Suri Cruise to the Children?s Museum of Pittsburgh on Monday (October 3).
The two ladies are in town to support papa Tom Cruise while he films his newest action thriller ?One Shot? in the Midwestern locale.
Joined by a bodyguard, a carefree Suri was dressed in high-priced designer duds as she hugged her new stuffed bear as they left the museum.
The group then headed for a return visit to The Milkshake Factory, where Katie treated her adorable tot to a large ice cream cone before continuing along with their day's agenda.

Stepping out for a bout of shopping, Katie Holmes was spotted leaving Maxfield in West Hollywood, CA on Wednesday (September 28).
The ?Don?t Be Afraid of the Dark? dame rocked her long hairdo as she chatted and laughed it up during a cell phone conversation.
Over the weekend, Katie spent time with husband Tom Cruise and daughter Suri in Pittsburgh - where Tom is currently situated while shooting his new movie ?One Shot.?
The cute trio took advantage of the beautiful fall weather by visiting Soergel Orchards, where they enjoyed a private horse-drawn hay ride through the orchard.

Taking care of some personal errands, Katie Holmes was spotted at her doctor?s office in Beverly Hills, CA earlier this morning (September 26).
The ?Don?t Be Afraid of the Dark? dame looked cute in flare jeans and a camel-colored sweater as she engaged in a quick chat with a bystander while patiently waiting for the elevator.
Miss Holmes is just returned to the west coast after spending the weekend alongside hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri - with the happy trio visiting the Soergel Orchards Family Farm Market in Wexford, Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Cruise is currently getting situated in the Midwest city as he readies to begin filming a new action/thriller movie called ?One Shot.?

Each season brings on celebrities as guest stars, and Katie Holmes is the next to make an appearance on ?How I Met Your Mother.?
The ?Romantics? babe will play one of Ted Mosby?s girl crushes, who also fits in as the recurring role of the ?Slutty Pumpkin.?
Of working with Katie, the show?s co-creator Craig Thomas told Vulture, "Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we've saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show?s history."
The guest spot will be part of the Halloween episode of ?How I Met Your Mother? - which airs at 8pm on CBS.

At this point, Katie Holmes just goes to the opening of an envelope. I thought that Katie had no real reason to appear at last night?s Emmys, but I guess she was there to support The Kennedys, right? But she wasn?t nominated for her zombie turn as Jackie Kennedy or anything. Still, I guess some people were happy to see Mrs. Tom Cruise, and Katie managed to turn in a pretty good showing. Katie wore this blue Calvin Klein that really flattered her coloring. I?m kind of meh about what it does to her figure, though. I think the neckline is messing me up a little? I think if you?re going to wear a gown that?s cut like a sports bra, it should actually fit like a sports bra. It should be tailored and emphasize your smaller bust (because a girl with a larger bust won?t wear this sports-bra-inspired neckline). Still, the dress is pretty good on Katie.
As for the styling? her makeup looks GREAT. I swear, she has someone new doing her makeup these days, and whoever it is, he or she is doing a bang-up job. The hair is meh? I?m surprised Katie didn?t do another ?Kate Middleton look?. I also think Katie could have borrowed some jewelry, right? She didn?t need much to complete the look, maybe a small pair of earrings, and maybe one bracelet.
What do you think Katie?s reaction to Jane Lynch?s Tom Cruise joke was? “Katie Holmes is in the house as well. I’d love to say something funny about her, but I’m afraid of her husband.? I noticed that there was no Holmes cutaway for that one? interesting.
Katie?s shoes are Pierre Hardy, by the way. They?re cute.

She's no stranger to high-profile events, and tonight (September 18) Katie Holmes was spotted at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
Always one to make a stylish statement on the red carpet, the "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" star looked lovely as she hammed it up outside the Nokia Theatre LA Live.
The Emmy's are known to bring out Tinseltown's best and brightest - and this time around surely doesn't disappoint with several big-name presenters on schedule.
Taking front and center, Miss Holmes will join the likes of Ashton Kutcher, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sofia Vergara and Zooey Deschanel to dole out some of the night's biggest awards.

Having a bit of difficulty coping with the late summer conditions, Katie Holmes battled a minor allergy attack while out in Los Angeles on Thursday (September 15).
The "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" actress sported a light white top and bell bottoms as she cruised to a local market for a few needs in her sporty Mercedes Benz ride.
The outing comes as Miss Holmes is gearing up to take the stage at this weekend's Primetime Emmy Awards - which are taking place at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA.
With Jane Lynch tending to hosting duties, other stars slated to dole out trophies include Gwyneth Paltrow, Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Laurie, Drew Barrymore, Claire Danes, Lea Michele, Ian Somerhalder, Ashton Kutcher and Sofia Vergara.
The show will be airing live on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 8PM ET on FOX.

CB and Bedhead were complaining earlier that today is kind of dead, gossip-wise. I disagreed, vehemently, because we have so many new photos from Fashion Week, Toronto, Deauville, plus there are lots of good candids so far. So just now, I was mentally debating what story I should do: a Linnocent crackhead story, a story about Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler being homoerotic, or this one, about Katie Holmes and Suri. It feels like we haven?t talked about Katie lately, and we?ve got some photos of Suri too.
Katie and Suri were in New York this weekend, perhaps for Fashion Week. I?m not sure, because I haven?t seen photos of Katie at any of the shows, but she could just be waiting to go to some big shows later this week. Oh, is Katie showing a line for Holmes & Yang? That could be it too.
Anyway, let?s ignore Katie for a moment and just talk about Suri. First, something nice: I?m glad Suri isn?t wearing kitten heels, or pumps. I?m glad that Suri looks relatively weather/season-appropriate, clothing-wise. Now, the bad: Suri is wearing dark red lipstick. And a bowler hat! But the lipstick is what bugs. Suri has worn makeup before, just like she?s worn heels before. Katie just lets Suri do her own thing, so if Suri wants to wear dark red lipstick, mom will always give the nod of approval. I?m always fascinated by this debate: is this even something Katie could stop, if she wanted to? Or is Katie just letting Suri find her own way, figuring that all of this stuff is just part of some childhood phase? Does a five-year-old in red lipstick, out and about in New York City, bother you as much as it bothers me?
Babble is also making a big deal about the fact that Katie had just enrolled Suri into a kindergarten class in Calabasas (the New Village Leadership Academy, that Scientology-ish school that Will and Jada Smith started, and then denied that it was CoS-based), and now it looks like Suri is missing school so that she and mom can go to NY Fashion Week.
Now, let?s talk about Katie?s fashion. I could overlook the rolled cutoffs. I might even be able to overlook the fug ankle booties (with cutoffs?!). But the shirt. What in 1989 Benetton Hell is that shirt?!?! Ugh, Katie.

Gearing up for the busy day ahead, Katie Holmes was spotted leaving her Manhattan apartment this morning (September 9).
The ?Kennedys? actress donned a denim jacket teamed with a pair of grey leggings and sunglasses as she strolled through the door.
Last night, Katie was over at the NYU Skirball Center of the Performing Arts to perform a reading of 110 Stories as part of a 9/11 benefit.
Proceeds from the event, which also featured Cynthia Nixon, Jeremy Piven, and Mario Cantone, went to the New York Says Thank You Foundation
